The sound of the Lava Man could be heard throughout Shore City as the Strikeforce and civilians look on wondering what will happen next. Magni was down and had not moved since the explosion. The Lava Man turned around facing the onlooking crowd and advances toward them still burning white-hot, the intense heat could be felt blocks away from him.
Stan and Rebecca keep looking at their friend expecting him to sit up at any time, but as the seconds pass by so does their hope in Magni coming to their rescue. Stan grabs her by the hand and they start running west down 12th Street trying to put some distance between the creature and them. Behind them, they expected to hear gunfire from Strikeforce, but the intense heat was rendering them helpless in the Lava Man onslaughts.
In her liar Viper continues to smile and felt proud of herself for her plan was coming along far better than she expected. Just as she lit up a cigar, she saw through the rubble a figure moving, she did not believe her eyes. Magni was moving, he slowly stood to his feet. Viper was shocked, then she told her controls person to command the Lava Man to turn around, but there was no response from the Lava Man. Viper does not like to get upset and she shoots the controls person, then turns to the assistant and asks what was the problem. She was told they never counted on the Lava Man to reach such high temperatures and that the heat had destroyed their mind control device. Viper looks on from her seat knowing that without that control the Lava Man would destroy all of Shore City. Now she found herself needed Magni.
The Lava Man kept moving west destroying everything in its path, Detective Harris found the battle ram tank and drove it towards the Lava Man. He was sweating from the heat but he manages to strike it knocking him off his feet. Harris lost consciousness before he could see the Lava Man rising from the ashes. It reaches out to grab the tank, but it hears a sound as Magni yells a warriors cry leaps from behind him tackling it to the ground.
The heat was still hot but Magni said he would not let go, that he would protect his adopted home no matter what just as he is thrown off and strikes a car. He manages to get back up as the Lava Man runs toward him and their battle starts again.
A few blocks away Magni's two friends could hear the sounds of battle they both look at each other knowing that it meant he was back. They turn around and head back to the battle sight. As they got closer they could see Magni hand in hand with the creature and he was not faring any better this time than last time. This time he ducks under the creature attacks and sweeps its legs, once he falls to the ground he summons his battle-ax. He strikes at the creature with such a blow that the windows in the surrounding area all broke, and because heat shot from the creature exploding several parked cars.
When the smoke cleared only Magni remain standing, he was bruised from head to toe as his friends ran to help him back to his feet. Now that the battle was over Strikeforce had made their way over to contain the creature and his friend knew it was time for Magni to leave. The help him away from the sight.
In her bunker Viper was felt a bittersweet victory in her gut, realizing that she had to be bailout by her enemy. She promises that next time things will be different. As she walks to her quarters, her Hydra Guards all stare in complete silence, they were all afraid to fall victim to their mistress rage.
At the riverfront park, Rebecca, Stan, and Magni were there away from causal viewing, Magni said that he was feeling much better that he just needed to catch his breath. Stan told him that he needed some serious R & R after that fight.
When Rebecca ask if either of them had any idea where that creature could have come from? Because it certainly could not have been in Shore City all this time. Stan and Magni just look at each other, but in Stan's heart, he knew she was right. It seems like more and more strange creatures have been showing up since Magni arrive. Which meant either he was attracting them here or someone very powerful was trying to eliminate Magni. As the three friends sat there, Stan wishes that he knew, and he wondered was it safe to continue being friends with Magni?
