Crisis of Infinite Visions: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Episode 18:
On Earth-DCB1, in the year 1940...
Screams, thunder, and lightning. Distorted laughter from the magic dancing lights far below.
Explosion among many falling and exploding down biplanes.
Twenty Amazons high jump off their sparrows...each still holding a end of her golden lasso.
DC Comics Bombshells Wonder Woman is among them.
They fast swing around and around the biplanes...until they get a clear shot with their blades.
But, with a certain voice in her head... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman is struggling to concentrate.
A little teary eyed... She sighs out loud.
She thinks back, "I don't know what you're doing in my head. But, with what you're trying to tell me? Moderate sigh! By the gods! I know you're worried now. I know I should hear your tale. Sniffle. But, if you won't let me defend Themiscrya? Sniffle. We'll both be struck down in the storm."
Earth-1900 Wonder Woman tells, "you're right. Sniffle. I'm sorry. You have a battle to fight."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman says out loud, "thank you."
At the same time... She slashes her silverish blade into a green biplane.
It starts to come crashing down.
United States fighters falling and deploying their parachutes...and praying to reach land.
Big waves coming down at them. More screams.
Nazis falling and deploying their parachutes...and pulling out electrified batons.
Amazons are firing arrows laced with the main parts of golden lassos into the sides of biplanes and at electrified batons.
Several Amazons jump kick hard into Nazis...making them fall fast for the ocean waves.
Several Nazis send electricity down the golden lassos first...making Amazons cry in mental pain along with their giant sparrows.
More screams and big splashes.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman pulls her golden lasso off burning wreckage of a certain biplane.
She run jumps back on to her giant sparrow.
They regroup with the other Amazons and giant sparrows. They slash through more biplanes.
What no one seems to notice though...is Earth-DCB1 Steve Trevor coming down in a parachute.
Burning wreckages of biplanes and smoke clouds are across Themiscrya.
Screams, cries, and distorted laughter fill the air.
Shadow Manhunters en mass begin to charge for Themiscrya.
Flashes of bright blinding light from rotating magic mirrors along the beaches and mountains.
And, as quickly as they came... The Shadow Manhunters are pulled away through them all.
Shrieks fill the air. But...that too seems to pull away just as quick.
Three mortal days later, on Earth-DCB1 Themiscrya...
The magic dancing lights finally fade off into the sky. But...there's been no magic portal in sight.
The purplish light and dark sunset colors drift over a lake. The lake is surrounded by bright green riverbanks and silver tinted evergreens.
Earth-DCB1 Steve Trevor is sitting in a cell...looking out to the lake through metal bars.
He has a full beard and mustache from not shaving in days. He's wearing black pants and a light blue open buttoned shirt with rolled up sleeves that were found with him.
He's bent over...letting several tears fall from his face.
He's thinking to himself, "that night...was a terrible dream. They... Hard sniffle. They said planes crash down on their island and have been destroying them...since early June. Hard sniffle. No one tried to destroy them. No one knew of them. And still...we have. Hard sniffle. I... I have terrible dreams. Hard sniffle. Screaming, music... The hopeless look of calves before wolves and bears... On the faces of fighters turning their eyes up to face the destroying blow... Heavy sigh. I don't know if I'm awake or asleep...if what I see before me is fantasy or reality. And, then...part of her comes."
With a very faint chuckle... He continues, "neither Diana will admit it. But, part of her must feel the same way. One Diana says we should go now, face the darkness with god overkill lightning or some **** like that...and just run away together. Messed up, right?"
Earth-DCB1 Steve very faintly chuckles to himself. A few more tears fall.
Some flashes fly by: Of Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman bringing him bowls of Themiscrya fruit and water on a silvery tray, of playing with his hands a little and nervously apologizing in two different tones the next mortal minute, of keeping him from overheating in his cell with a wash cloth, of showing off flying around the cell ceiling to Earth-DCB1 Steve with some faint chuckles...and of her fast walking back and forth while arguing in different tones to herself.
Earth-DCB1 Steve continues in thought, "she couldn't really even know me. My god! We only met. I...I was almost destroyed washing up ashore. And, the other Diana... Very faint chuckle. Yeah. That is that part of her that feels the way I do: Not knowing if she's awake or asleep. Hard sniffle. I thought I saw crazy before. But...maybe being her partner will wash away the terrible dreams. Roll them back like the sea. All that'd be left then...is wonder. Very faint chuckle. Messed up. But, still..."
The view suddenly cuts back from behind him...with Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman keeping him from overheating with a wash cloth.
She nervously points out, "you shiver, Steve Trevor."
Somewhat warily... Earth-DCB1 Steve asks, "which Diana am I talking to?"
He turns to her as he does.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman lightly punches his shoulder.
Earth-DCB1 Steve pretends to be hit.
With a very faint smile... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman tries to insist, "me, silly. Very faint laugh. At least...I think I'm me now."
She's suddenly on the verge of tears and hunched over.
Earth-DCB1 Steve tries to assure, "hey. It'll...it'll be okay."
He puts a kind of comforting hand on hers.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman kind of slowly looks over to him.
With mixed feelings... She questions, "how...how can you be sure? I... Moderate sigh. I want to believe 1900 Diana's high praises of you. For days, I've listened to your tales of home. I can tell now you're not a liar or a monster. What your people did to our people was out of ignorance. But... You...don't even really know me."
She starts to put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
But... She draws back really nervously.
She blushes a little. Some tears fall.
Earth-DCB1 Steve moderately sighs.
Earth-DCB1 Steve points out, "we're both in shock. And... And, maybe I don't know much more than what you told me of you and...well, you. But, this can't be your first battle."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman can't help but grin a little.
She realizes, "you're right. It's not. But..."
Earth-DCB1 Steve wonders, "yeah, angel?"
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman blushes more.
Then... She continues, "there will be no WWIII. The Amazons will join the fray."
She and Earth-DCB1 Steve faintly grin.
Earth-DCB1 Steve can't help but ask, "how are you sure of that? We know what most of the Amazons think of men. I...I'm not really sure I can blame them either. Heavy sigh. I... Hard sniffle. I still feel guilty about the falling planes destroying..."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman goes, "shh."
She hugs him. He hugs her back.
Then... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman lightly turns him to face her again.
She suggests, "if you can bear to live through it...then the Amazons must bear to hear it too. Sniffle. Tell me a tale. Tell me a tale of battle I can tell my mother, the queen."
Some tears fall from both of their faces.
But... Earth-DCB1 Steve kind of quickly and solemnly nods.
Twenty mortal minutes later, in Queen Hippolyta's throne room...
Two Amazon fighters total stand to the sides of DC Comics Bombshells Queen Hippolyta's throne. Her throne is done up like a modern art styled and rustic silvery paper origami fan.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta wears her silky white dress with long drape ends over the throne steps. She also wears a fancy gold belt, matching battle wear shoulder plates, and gold weight earrings.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman is in the midst of telling them, "...huge tortoises that crush entire forests in their passing. And, a tyrant with a symbol: Red and black, like a nest of thorns. This is a fight the Earth has never known. And, what are the Amazons but its greatest champions? If this battle could keep overflowing to the Amazons, why do we not rise to the front lines? This suffering calls for us to..."
Then... Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta holds her hand up with palm up.
She starts to say, "Diana... Daughter..."
She tilts her head to the left. But, her piercing gaze has already begun.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman gulps nervously.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta brings up, "...do we not have enough with which to contend? We battle our own kind... The lost Trojans, the minotaurs, the hidden islands..."
Teary eyed... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman slightly glares.
Before Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta can say something... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman responds, "I know mother! We must shield our own! But, do you know who has been destroying Athena's enchantments over our island? I do now!"
Some shocked murmurs come from Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta's two Amazon advisors.
Earth-1900 Wonder Woman's voice asks, "are you sure about this, Diana? Darkness and light is in everyone: Even in the Amazons from both of our worlds. They...they may just believe you were sent by Chaos and try to destroy us both. Faint sniffle. I want to protect you, Diana."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman reflects, "thank you. But...you told me once that it's not about deserve: It's about what you believe. Faint chuckle. Please, Diana: Believe now in me."
Earth-1900 Wonder Woman points out, "it's hard to believe. But...I'll try. My sister."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman faintly chuckles to herself on the last part.
With a faint chuckle... Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta's expression softens.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta reflects, "I'm not sure yet if you're worthy to wield the power which you're born to be: Leading our people in battle. But...my daughter? Please. Continue."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman very faintly grins at that.
She says, "thank you, mother."
After twenty five mortal minutes...
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta and everyone else in the throne room is teary eyed now.
Some sniffles are heard.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman just told them Earth-1900 Wonder Woman's whole story. But, she saved the fighting in the Crisis of Infinite Visions part for last: Knowing the Amazons will just see her as crazy if she started off with that part, thanks to some very certain second opinions.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta fast walks over to her.
She says in shock, "by...the...goddesses. I'm sorry. Hard sniffle. You've been through a lot of things, Diana. I...could have led down our nation to great shame and suffering, my daughter. Like...li..."
She and Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman start to cry.
They hug each other tight...standing there for a long mortal minute.
Soon...
The Amazons try separating both voices from Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman with golden lassoes.
Cries of mental pain. Fluctuating and sweating like crazy afterimages of both Wonder Women.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta calls out, "stop! Sniffle! I don't want to destroy Diana or Diana!"
Her Amazon advisers quickly get off and pull away their golden lassoes.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman is breathing hard. But, she's still conscious.
The two Dianas are stuck in one physical body now...much to the mixed feelings of everyone.
Some tears fall. Some sniffles are heard.
After a bit... Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta and her Amazon advisors come back with a certain crown, Wonder Woman's golden lasso, a pair of silvery wristbands, and a handheld magic mirror.
There are very faint smiles all around...in spite of the lingering teariness.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta declares, "Diana...and Diana of 1900... You are now our leader in battle as Wonder Woman. Hard sniffle. I'll not destroy Steve Trevor tomorrow night if he stays with you for as long as he lives...and if you both are never to return to the island. I'm afraid that's as much as we can bend Amazon law for you in these difficult times for us. But...find me on this mirror any time. I'll always answer you. Hard sniffle. We'll also all follow you in battle...my two daughters in spirit."
Both voices in Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman's head agree out loud.
That night...
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman has a tearful goodbye on the beach with Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta and all sixteen of her Earth-DCB1 Amazon sisters.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Steve bittersweetly wave goodbye.
And, with that... They're walking further down the beach toward Earth-DCB1 Mera, her mostly dark green shell like cart, and her three dolphins Gren, Lund, and River.
Earth-DCB1 Mera smiles in their direction.
Over the course of a week...
They sail for the coast of Peloponnese, Greece.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Steve count stars on the way.
They almost pull each other close...only for Nazis to start firing laser fast fire from tanks at them.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman releases God-Overkill lightning to slice through two of their tanks.
Earth-DCB1 Mera uses hydrokinesis to wash a wave up...electrifying the sliced through tanks.
The Nazi squadron quickly surrenders.
Then it soon turns out that this one squadron is really full of double agents for Allied Forces in disguise...led by Earth-DCB1 Commander Amanda Waller from afar.
Earth-DCB1 Mera and Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman join the Bombshells Program the next day: A group of superheroines led by Earth-DCB1 Commander Amanda Waller from afar.
Earth-DCB1 Mera and her dolphins are sent overseas to help the United States Navy fight Nazis.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta lead their Amazon fighters into The Battle of Greece. They start to slash their way through several Nazis squadrons with their silverish blades...until thousands of Shadow Manhunters show up.
The Nazis have tanks that can fire very dark blue lightning blasts.
But... It only slows down the Shadow Manhunters a little.
The Allies and the Nazis are already starting to fall back en mass. But...they are just as quickly getting turned into more Shadow Manhunters.
But, in the midst of it all... The Earth-DCB1 Amazons are firing arrows laced with golden lassos.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman flies high up over the forming net of golden lasso rope...and releases God-Overkill lightning along the golden lasso rope.
The Shadow Manhunters shriek and cower in the rainfall of blinding golden cosmic sparks.
But, in the chaos... The double agent fighter squadron for the Allies took out several groups of Nazis and commandeered their tanks.
Thousands of Shadow Manhunters are destroyed in sparkly golden cosmic swirls. Thousands flee through shadowy portals in the squares of open space between the golden lasso ropes.
Many Greek citizens were evacuated by Allied Forces. Many Allied Forces and Nazis have retreated to fight another day. But, there are thousands more unconscious Nazis on the ground.
The Allies have won the day in Athens.
Cheers, whoos, and wolf whistles fill the air back at Allied Forces camps.
Tacked on posters of Wonder Woman in her iconic WWII Bombshells outfit go by on tent camp interiors: With "She can do it!" across them.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman, most of the other Amazons, Earth-DCB1 Steve, and the Allied Forces squadron of double agent fighters are sharing stories and drinking nights away at camp.
But... That was only for a few nights.
Earth-DCB1 Commander Amanda Waller has become very impressed and very suspicious of Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman's powers.
She sends Earth-DCB1 Nightshade out to capture Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and bring her to a Project Bombshells underground research facility below camp.
A sweating brainwave monitored Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman wakes up on a medical bed.
Her forehead is covered by several dark blue striped metallic mind control headbands with growing near whitish yellow lights. Her hands are tied from behind by her own golden lasso.
Everything is very dark in the room: Except for small dark red blinker siren lights on the ceiling.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman struggles to break free.
But... Shadowy portals generate instantly to send her God-Overkill lightning back at her.
She dangerously starts shaking. She groans hard.
Suddenly... Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta and the other Amazons slash the shadowy portal generator to pieces with their silverish blades.
There's some burning up and flying robot pieces. There's more fiery explosions.
Earth-DCB1 Queen Hippolyta and the other Amazons barely escape from the camp...with Earth-DCB1 Steve and Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman kind of quickly keeping up.
Earth-DCB1 Steve takes up a two arm handled black light gun pointer equipped with a cylinder.
Some laser fast fire and silverish blade slashes. Some explosions. Mines left by Nazis. Coal golem like demons called Tenebrae led by DC Comics Bombshells Hades.
Nights go on. Physical tiredness goes on.
The Earth-DCB1 Amazons and Earth-DCB1 Steve just can't seem to catch a break.
That is...until one morning.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Steve are sleeping on the red grated rooftop of a abandoned house in Athens. The other Amazons go back to Themiscrya to sleep.
Then... Earth-DCB1 Steve and all the Earth-DCB1 Amazons wake up.
Relatively presently...
Earth-DCB1 Hippolyta finds out why things were quiet that morning through a magic mirror.
A Nazis squadron has taken over a Allied Forces camp in broad daylight: With tigers, lions, a Nazi general...and a DC Comics Bombshells version of Tigra Tropica.
Earth-DCB1 Tigra wears a scaly dark green sleeveless top, a cream puff like yellow gown with red beads and long drape ends, gold lined mostly dark red wristbands, a leafy crown with red beads across, matching earrings, and a matching necklace. She has slightly curly long black hair.
She also wears steampunk styled green earwigs of German design that can send initial thoughts in minds back and forth to the wearer: To translate and communicate in any animal or human language.
She can do a special pinch on nerves behind both ears to mind control a animal or human.
She pretended to be a damsel in distress running from Nazis controlling lions and tigers...giving her plenty of time to deliver her special pinch to the Allied Forces general and lieutenant in the camp.
The Nazi squadron had soon captured them all. Now the Allied Forces camp is mind controlled under Earth-DCB1 Tigra and ready with light gun pointers.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Steve throw some explosive charges nearby.
The Nazi squadron and most of the Allied Forces unit spread out in search of intruders.
Then... Earth-DCB1 Hippolyta and the other Amazons come into the camp on giant sparrows.
The nineteen tigers and lions growl, moan, and roar lowly...looking at the giant sparrows.
The mind controlled Allied Forces General and Lieutenant are heading out of a tent.
But... Earth-DCB1 Steve punches out the Allied Forces General from behind.
The Allied Forces Lieutenant starts to call out, "intrud..!"
But... Earth-DCB1 Steve side kicks him hard into the side of the tent.
The cloth of the tent rips and breaks the Lieutenant's fall some.
But... Earth-DCB1 Steve takes him out too.
A little teary eyed... Earth-DCB1 Tigra rushes over to her pride of lions and tigers.
She firmly hugs each one while rubbing her face against theirs.
With her earwigs, she communicates in soft growls, roars, a moan, and a kind of loud roar.
There are soft growls, louder roars, and then some moans from the tigers and lions. But...there's not even a single pinched up piece of fur behind their ears.
In English... Earth-DCB1 Tigra tries to assure, "oh, my poor pride. Oh, my poor cubs! The queen of the pride is here to lead you to victory and food. Are the big birdies and Amazons hard to bring down? Well, don't you worry. I'll show you how it's...done?"
Just then... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman has her silverish blade aimed right at her.
Earth-DCB1 Tigra and the other Amazons look shocked. Earth-DCB1 Steve looks somewhat nervous. The Nazis and mind controlled Allied Forces just look tense.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman thinks, "Diana... Are you sure about this?"
Earth-1900 Wonder Woman's voice fully explains, "Diana... Moderate sigh. We didn't tell your mother about me becoming a second voice when we should've. May be that I'm wrong. But... Moderate sigh. I believe I'm a big sister for you, Diana. Faint sniffle. You've shown me I may not have to wander the land forever to fight for love. Please. Very faint chuckle. Let me prove it to myself and you."
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman concludes, "you're not wrong. I am like a little sister for you. Very faint chuckle. All right. I'm with you all the way, Diana."
Earth-DCB1 Tigra gulps nervously.
She starts to turn around to face Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman.
Suddenly... She throws a small throwing blade at Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman.
But... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman easily deflects it away with her silverish blade.
The small throwing blade lands on the ground.
Surprisingly... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman snarls some at Earth-DCB1 Tigra.
With a faint smirk... Earth-DCB1 Tigra asks, "you want to try to beat me? Winner gets all?"
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman answers yes. And, Earth-DCB1 Tigra agrees.
With a glare... The Nazi general calls out, "Verrat von dir, Tigra?! What madness is...?!"
Earth-DCB1 Tigra points out, "ha! I do what I was planning to do. I've only trusted the wild."
She instructs the mind controlled Allied Forces to fire laser fast fire at the Nazis.
Some cries are heard.
Most of them hastily retreat. Some are unconscious on the ground.
The sounds of firing at the Nazis are plenty to free the Allied Forces of their mind control.
The Allied Forces, Earth-DCB1 Steve, and the other Earth-DCB1 Amazons smirk to themselves.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Tigra slash at each other with silverish blades. But...Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman swiftly punches her down.
Earth-DCB1 Tigra is coughing hard on the ground.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman suggests, "I beat you. But, I would not destroy you. Surrender your mind control power. You can find a better way for animals and yourself...as a honorary Amazon."
She offers her hand to Earth-DCB1 Tigra.
She takes it...letting herself be helped up to her feet.
With a awkward smile... Earth-DCB1 Tigra concludes, "you are kinder than I thought a humanoid man or woman could be. I...will try to find better with your people as you say."
She and Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman smile wide: Despite being a little teary eyed.
Earth-DCB1 Tigra chuffs and growls a little to considerably calm her tigers and lions down.
Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman and Earth-DCB1 Tigra hug each other close.
Everyone cheers and whoos. Some of the Allied Forces wolf whistles.
Some of the giant sparrows just peck at a bunch of bugs on the ground nearby.
For a bit... Earth-DCB1 Wonder Woman's image switches with Earth-1900 Wonder Woman's.
The view cuts back through a certain circle of Gaianetarium flames on a table...and over to Diana of the Dreaming, Wonder Woman, and Earth-JWW gathered around in the Dreaming.
The three of them are bittersweetly smiling and faintly teary eyed.
They finally found Earth-1900 Wonder Woman. They were about to try to bring her back.
But... The three of them have realized that some mortal time for Earth-1900 Diana's spirit and her neighboring spirit sister to relax in a new body may be what's best for her after all.
