When Angel woke up the next day, she found Alex outside, hitting a punching bag. "You're up early," She commented.
"Yeah," Alex nodded, stepping away from the punching bag. "I like to wake up early." She put the punching bag away. "Is everyone else up? I was going to make breakfast before we went shopping for things for your rooms." She led Angel into the kitchen, where she started getting things for breakfast. "And of course, we'll need to stop by the guild first to introduce you to the Master and get new guild marks."
"I still don't understand why we have to join Fairy Tail," Angel said, crossing her arms. She sat down. "I don't know if I want to share the same guild as Lucy." She looked to the table. "It's bad enough I'm losing my keys to her."
Alex turned off her stove and sighed. "I've been meaning to talk to you about that." She sat in front of Angel. "You need to start learning to treat your spirits with respect." At Angel's scoff, she continued. "I mean it. Your spirits aren't tools; they have feelings and lives. They are supposed to help you, not do your job for you." She stood up. "Which is one of the reasons I want you to join my weekly kickboxing class. It will give you more ways to defend yourself without relying on your spirits. It will also give you a chance to bond with some of our other female guild members." She smiled reassuringly at Angel. "It'll be great, I promise."
Alex turned back to the stove to finish breakfast and let Angel think over what she had said. By the time she finished making a breakfast of eggs, bacon, blueberry waffles, and toast, the rest of the Oracion Seis and Jellal were awake. They ate their breakfast while Alex told them her plans for the day.
They left for the guild after they finished breakfast. Alex wore a simple red tank top, black shorts, and some white tennis shoes. When they entered the typically boisterous guildhall, everyone went silent. Cana glared at the six people behind Alex. "The Master told us what you're planning," She told Alex. "We don't think this is a good idea."
"Then it's a good thing I'm not asking for permission," Alex commented. She looked at Mira. "Is the master upstairs? We need to speak with him."
Mira nodded. "He's expecting you in his office." She looked at Alex, concerned. "Are you going to need any help?" She glared at the six. "We don't want you to get hurt because of this plan of yours."
Alex smiled. "Thank you for worrying, but I have this under control." She looked at the others in the guild. "Have some faith in me, everyone. They won't hurt me." She waved a hand. "Come on, guys. The master awaits."
The seven of them walked up the stairs to the master's office. Alex opened the door, and they walked into the office. She bowed in front of the desk. "We're here, Master."
Master Makarov nodded and jumped onto his desk. "I see you brought some new members." When she nodded, he waved her away. "Go ahead and wait outside. I have some things I need to discuss with our new members." Alex looked like she was about to argue, but she just nodded and stepped outside of the room. She walked outside of the room and downstairs to the bar to wait for her new roommates.
When she closed the door, Makarov looked at the six people in front of her. "You know why you're here, right?" He asked them, sternly.
Cobra scoffed. "Fairy Girl has this idea this guild can turn us into good people. We're only here because the other options were jail and running for the rest of our lives."
"Alex made this choice because she believes you have good in you," Makarov said, looking at them. "You have all been dealt a bad hand in life, and you've been forced to do some rather unsavory things in life. Alex thinks if given a chance, you will do what's right." He glared at them. "Alex has staked the reputation of herself and Fairy Tail on you choosing to do the right thing. Don't let us down."
'Hoteye' Richard grinned. "Don't worry, Master Makarov. We'll make you and Miss Alex proud."
Master Makarov grinned. "I'm sure you will. Now get downstairs and get your guild marks changed. We can't have you running around Fairy Tail without the Fairy Tail emblem."
Jellal nodded and led the other five out of the room and downstairs to where Alex was. The other members of Fairy Tail were arguing. "That's enough!" Alex shouted. The former Oracion Seis stopped halfway down the stairs to listen. "If you all keep arguing and doubting my plan, they'll decide not to go through with this. I know they can be good people. You need to give them a chance." When a couple of the members started grumbling again, she continued in a slightly darker tone. "If I catch any of you giving them more of a hard time, then you do a regular Fairy Tail member, you will answer to me."
When it looked like the arguing was done, Jellal and the others walked down the rest of the stairs. Alex was sitting at a barstool and resting her head against the bar, exhausted. She looked up when they came by and smiled. "Hey, everyone. How did the talk with the master go?"
"It was alright," Racer said, leaning against the bar. "So when do we get new guild marks?"
Mira walked up with the guild stamp. "Right now," She said, smiling. "Just let me know where you want it." It wasn't long before they all had new guild marks where their old ones used to be.
'Midnight' Macbeth looked at Alex once he had a dark red Fairy Tail emblem on his right shoulder. "What do you expect us to do now?" He asked, sitting down.
Alex was about to respond when Mira spoke up. "Erza and the others are going to be home soon. I'm sure they'd be happy to see you."
Alex grinned before noticing the uneasy expressions on the former Oracion Seis faces. "Why don't you all look around town and find things for your room?" She suggested. "Pick out what you want and have the store owners send me the bill."
"Are you sure about that?" Jellal asked, seeing the looks on the others. They looked a little too excited at the idea of spending her money.
Alex nodded and waved them away. "I'm sure. Go and find things to make your new home yours. I trust you all not to spend all my money." She turned back to the bar, dismissing them.
When they finally left, Alex sighed and laid her head against the bar. "Are you okay?" Mira asked, setting a mango milkshake in front of her."
Alex nodded. "I'm just tired," She yawned. "Haven't been getting enough sleep lately." She grabbed her milkshake and stood up. "I'm going to go rest in the corner over there. Let me know when Erza shows up." Alex sat down in the corner of the building and sat down on the couch. She shut her eyes and leaned her head back. "Maybe I can close my eyes for a minute," Alex muttered, setting her drink down. It wasn't long before she fell asleep. Mira warned the other guild members not to wake her as she hadn't been getting much sleep.
When she woke up, Erza was speaking. "And so, that's why I've invited Wendy and Carla to join Fairy Tail."
Alex stood up and walked over to her. Wendy smiled and bowed. "It's a pleasure!" She said.
Alex smiled. "I'm glad you made it here safely, Wendy. I hope Natsu didn't give you too much trouble."
"Oh, he was no trouble at all," Wendy denied, waving her hands and smiling. "Everyone's been so kind."
"That's good to hear," Alex nodded. She glanced at Carla. "I'm glad you decided to show up as well, Carla." When she didn't get a response from the white cat, she walked over to where Erza was speaking to the master. "Welcome back."
Erza nodded. "It's good to be back." She smiled. "Thank you for helping Jellal. I would have missed him if he had to go to jail." She grew concerned. "Are the old Oracion Seis giving you any trouble?"
"No," Alex crossed her arms. "They haven't given me any trouble yet. Jellal took them shopping. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you when they get back."
Erza was about to respond when Juvia started flooding the place with her tears. "Gray, stop her!" Someone cried.
Alex and Erza looked at each other and laughed at the ruckus the guild members were causing. They moved to a table and sat down. "I was thinking of calling Simon," Alex said, looking at Erza. "I think reuniting Richard with his brother Wally would be a great way to let them know I'm serious about helping them. It would also give Jellal a chance to apologize for some of the things he's done."
Erza nodded. "Good idea. Last I heard, Simon had reunited with his sister. She's a member of Mermaid heel, so they were spending time near the guild."
Alex pulled out a lacrima and called Simon. When he answered, she smiled. "Hey, Simon. I'm calling to tell you I'm bringing some friends over. Is Wally still there?"
Simon smiled. "Of course. I have someone here who has been wanting to meet you. We'll be glad to have you and your friends come over."
Alex grinned. "Alright. We should be there sometime tomorrow. We'll see you soon." She hung up and looked at Erza. "Do you want to come with us?"
Erza nodded. "I'd like that, thank you." She stood up. "You're roommates should be here soon. I'm sure they'll want to celebrate their arrival with Wendy."
Alex grimaced a little, imagining their faces. They didn't look comfortable with the attention in her mind. "Yeah, I'm sure they'll love it."
When the Oracion Seis finally arrived, they looked around for Alex. She was sitting at the bar away from the party that was currently going on. "What's happening?" Racer asked.
"A party to celebrate your new members," Alex said, turning to them. "This will be one of the best ways for you to make some new friends in the guild. You don't have to join if you don't want to," She added, when they began to look uncertain.
"I think I'm going to get some sleep," Macbeth said. "It's been a long day, and my new bed should be delivered by now."
Alex nodded. "Go ahead and get some rest then. We need to head out early in the morning tomorrow." Macbeth nodded and walked away. She turned to the rest. "What do you want to do?"
The other's looked at each other and nodded. "We'll stay," Angel decided. "We may as well get used to being in Fairy Tail, so a party may be a good place to start."
Alex grinned. "Great. Oh, prepare for a brawl to break out. We haven't had one of those in a while." At their curious looks, she continued. "Fairy Tail is known for its brawls. It builds camaraderie, and it's great practice for your magic. You'll see," She promised.
They joined the party rather quickly. Each one of them finding someone to talk to and hang out with. And true to her word, it wasn't long before Gray and Natsu started another Fairy Tail brawl. Sorano managed to make it back to the bar without getting too involved, but the others weren't so lucky. Erik seemed to enjoy fighting the other two male dragon slayers, and Sawyer seemed to be challenging Jet to a race.
"Is it always like this?" Sorano asked, curious. She was sitting at the bar, watching the brawl with amusement.
Alex nodded and grinned. "Yeah. And we wouldn't have it any other way."
So this was kind of a weird chapter for me. And I wasn't totally sure how to write it. I hope the characters don't seem too OOC, but since we don't see the Oracion Seis actively trying to be good, I gave it a shot. Oh! And I'm thinking about Sorano getting a different set of keys. She didn't get to keep her gold ones, but I don't think she should try the Angel magic from later in the show. So if there's a set of keys you'd like to see, let me know, because I have some ideas, but I'm not sure which ones to go with. Anyway, that's all for this chapter.
Thank you again for reading this chapter. I'll see you next time!
