"Technically Henry sent it but I did sign it. It was an explanation about why I was breaking contact with Black Pawn and signing with a different publisher." Rick had read it but hadn't written it.
Alexis returned to reading. "The President and CEO of Black Pawn sent this. It's also a request that you reconsider and he wants to meet with you at your earliest convenience. You can't do that. Your contract states plainly that the next book you write belongs to your new publisher." He couldn't go back to Black Pawn even with Gina gone.
"I know. I just never thought I would get Gina fired." He felt bad about that.

"There's one more thing that I'm thinking of doing." Rick hadn't yet decided but he was seriously considering it.

"Mother is gone, which isn't actually such a bad thing," Rick began to explain.

"We're great. Couple more months or so and I'll graduate the top of my class and start working at the 12th under Kate."

"Someone took some of it already." Rick looked at her.
