Trigger warning: description of panic attack

Tris POV

Four quickly puts a hand over his eyes and runs out of the room, closing the door behind him. My face feels hot with embarrassment as I hide under the blankets. I find clothes to wear and put it on as slowly as possible as if that is going to stop the awkwardness waiting outside of the room. I finish getting dressed and slowly walk towards the door. I put my hand on the knob and take a deep breath, but a soft knock on the door before I could open it.

"Tris... Tris I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to walk in. Well, I meant to walk in, but I didn't know you weren't..." Four says softly through the door. His voice is slightly muffled, but I still hear his apologetic tone. I still feel my heart beat quickly and I feel the same sick feeling from all those years ago. I feel a sob coming up and I choke before I let it out. Four keeps talking, but I can't hear him over the white noise in my ears. My face feels wet and I crouch down on the floor with my head tucked between my knees. I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder and I jump away, my back hitting the wall. My vision is blurry with tears, but I see Four crouching in front of me, his hands up and eyes wide.

"Tris, are you okay? You're hyperventilating, Tris. Can you breathe a little more slowly for me?" I tun away from him and put my forehead against the wall. I can feel my heartbeat in my head and I can't catch my breath. Four's voice becomes more distant by the second.

Four's POV

I sit in the far corner of the room, staring at Tris as I run my hands through my hair every few seconds. She stopped crying, but she's still hyperventilating, her hands covering her ears as she's slumped against the wall. I check my phone again to see how long until Christina gets here. As soon as I put my phone down, I hear the hotel door click open and feet running to the room. Christina bursts in, Will following closely behind. She looks around frantically before her eyes land on Tris. I stand up quickly, but Christina completely ignores me. She falls to her knees and crawls over to Tris slowly.

"Tris... Tris it's Christina" she whispers gently. Tris looks up as soon as she feels someone come near her, ready to back away. As soon as she sees that it's Christina, she whimpers and throws herself in Christina's arms. Christina catches her and hugs her tightly. They seem to have done this before. Will and I stand off to the side, unsure of what to do. Christina looks over her shoulder while still holding Tris and seems to just have noticed me.

"Leave" Christina whispers. I open my mouth to retort, but the look on her face tells me that now is not the time. I follow Will outside of the room. The door slams shut behind us.

"What happened" Christina demands more than asks. We all stand outside of their hotel room while Christina paces the hall and Will tries to calm her down. I lean on the wall and let out a long sigh while rubbing my face.

"We were talking on the balcony and then decided to go inside, but she went into the room before we sat down. She hadn't come out in awhile, so I went inside, but..." I trail off before I finish my sentence. Christina stops pacing and looks at me, eyebrows raised. Will looks at me too, waiting for me to finish my sentence.

"Well, she wasn't wearing clothes, but I didn't know, I swear! I promise-"

"You did what?" Christina's voice is surprisingly low and even. Will gives me a reproachful look. Christina walks towards me and stands close enough so she has to crane her neck up to look at me. Even though I'm bigger, I feel small under her gaze. Her eyes are intense and angry. I look away, ashamed.

"Christina..." Will says softly, pulling her away from me. She doesn't budge, staring me down.

"Do you have ANY idea what you and Lauren did to her" Christina hisses. I feel a lump in my throat and it's suddenly harder to swallow. I look Christina in the eye and I have never seen anyone more ready to protect someone as fiercely as her.

"I'm sor- sorry... I'm so sorry. I-" I choke out. Christina backs away from me and into Will. He holds her and she stands there, her mouth agape. After a second, she laughs coldly.

"Do you really think that's enough?" I close my eyes so I don't start crying. I don't deserve to. I hear the click of a door opening and closing. When I open my eyes, I'm the only one in the hallway.

I feel something hit my foot. I move slightly, but quickly stop when a sharp pain shoots up my back and neck. Something hits my foot again and I groan.

"Get up, man." I crack my eyes open when I hear Al's voice. I fell asleep on the floor, hunched over. My body aches and my eyes are bloodshot. Al snorts.

"Man, you look terrible." I let out a laugh which ends up sounded more like a hard breath. I stand up slowly, groaning in pain.

"What are you doing here" I ask while stretching. Al leans against the wall and sighs.

"I wanted to say bye to Tris, but Christina didn't let me. I guess I don't blame her..." he trails off softly, kicking the ground disappointedly. I stop stretching and look at him, confusion etched into my face.

"Bye? Why bye?" Al looks confused now.

"They left a little over half an hour ago. I thought you knew? I saw you sitting out here and assumed that you were going to leave with them, but when they walked out they didn't wake you up, so I didn't either..." Realization dawns on Al's face. I feel nauseous and dizzy as I fall against the wall.

"They... left" I ask softly. Al nods nonchalantly.

"I wonder why she left so quickly" Al says aloud, not looking over at me. I gulp and look at the floor.

"She's gone" I mutter.

"Yup."

"She's gone again" I whisper to myself, closing my eyes.

(A/N) I know this is a looooot longer compared to my other "chapters." After not having written a story with an actual plot, I started getting a little too into it and here we are. Feel free to leave a review or PM me with your thoughts/questions! See you guys in the next chapter :)!
