Vic woke up the next morning to check the alarm clock. He had gotten up slightly later than he normally had, at around 8:04 AM. Vic thought about what he and Lance did last night and was not comfortable with getting involved with a drug trade. So he was going to march back to that hotel and tell Lance he isn't going to join him in his scheme.
Vic hopped out of bed, washed up, got dressed, and headed out the door. He hopped onto the motorbike he stole from one of the bikers from the garage and used it to ride away. The sun had risen early, shining in the light blue sky brightly, and there were very few cars stirring around the road. Vic drove through the long road and headed straight to Downtown.
Vic saw the Palms Hotel up ahead and pulled up in front. The Perennial was parked right up front as well, and Vic hopped off the bike to head for the entrance of the hotel.
Inside the hotel room above, Lance was pacing around nervously, waiting for Vic, until he finally saw him entering the room. "Ah!" Lance chuckled. "Just in time bro! Yeah!"
Vic faced Lance wearing a serious expression in his face. He was not in the mood at this moment. "Lance, I'm through with this, man," he told his brother.
"What, you mean this dump?" Lance asked. "Yeah, me too."
"No," Vic replied. "I'm through with this bullshit. I don't want to be a damn drug dealer. It's for assholes."
"Vic," Lance started to say, "Don't go soft on me now. I got what we finally need. I know how we can get our hands on one big shipment completely free. We can finally get Pete the health care he needs."
Vic just turned away. He was by no means above committing crime at this moment considering he had to pay for Pete's medication, but he wasn't going to become a drug dealer to make any money. If he was ever going to get the money by survival, he was going to earn it the clean way.
"Look, Lance," Vic told his brother as he paced the room, "I am a long way from being a good guy, and I am not above these street crimes to get the money, but drugs just mean trouble. I handled drugs when I was in the army, and look where that's got me in!"
"I agree, man, 100%" Lance protested. "But this time is different, and that's why we gonna get this one big pay for all the hard work and split. Jerry Martinez... it's his coke."
The name suddenly popped right back in Vic's mind. He still hasn't forgotten about how Sergeant Martinez had cost him his career and had set him and Phil up earlier. Normally, Vic was against drugs, but in this case, he felt it wouldn't hurt to steal some out of reprisal for what Martinez did to him earlier - twice!
"Oh... " Vic uttered. "Fuck it. You know what? Let's do it!"
"Alright," Lance replied gleefully as he exchanged handshakes with Vic. "Ladies and gentlemen. This is a real man! Let's pop!"
The two then started heading out of the hotel room. Vic was very determined to get back at Martinez to pay him back.
"We're gonna make it big, Vic!" Lance shouted as he and Vic made it back outside. "I have a dream... I have a dream-muh!"
"Your dream is my nightmare," Vic shot back.
"Don't be like that," Lance protested. "Look, I even arranged some insurance." He pointed to two guys standing at a beige Sentinel XS. One of them was wearing an orange shirt and beige pants, while his partner had on a navy blue shirt and gray pants. "Come on, guys," Lance told the two man as they hopped inside the vehicle. "Time to pop."
The brothers hopped inside the vehicle themselves and Vic took the wheel to start the engine and drive onto the road. He drove straight down and made his way through the long road up ahead.
"So what's the plan?" Vic asked Lance.
"Martinez is bringing in that big ass shipment Forbes was rapping about," Lance answered handing Vic a radio to speak through. "We're gonna rip it off."
Vic just continued driving straight down the long road until he made a right turn on Little Haiti. He drove around until he finally made it to the docks up ahead and pulled up behind the building.
"I'll take a look and see what's happening," Lance announced as he hopped out of the car and crept behind the building.
He saw that the shipment was being loaded in the trucks, and Martinez was just right there. So Lance turned to face the other inside the Sentinel XS as they hopped right out of the vehicle. Lance stared at the two guys.
"You two just sit tight and make sure our exit is clear," he told them both. "This is about to get ugly."
So Vic and Lance got their weapons ready to take out everyone involved with the shipment and ambushed the meeting. Vic saw that Martinez had left and put his own men in charge with the shipment. So he and Lance dodged every bullet that were fired at them and took out as many of Martinez's men as they could. This was literally life or death for the two brothers.
As they killed each and every one of the men one by one, Vic and Lance then ran up to the two Barracks OLs containing the coke.
"Take the other truck and follow me," Lance announced. "Looks like your friend Martinez finally showed up."
He pointed at a Hunter, which had hovered just above. "Shit!" Vic shouted.
Vic and Lance had no time to waste. They each hopped into each of the trucks and started the engines. Vic saw that Lance was just right ahead.
"Try to keep up, man," Lance told Vic over the radio. "I'm a BAAAD driver."
"You said it," Vic replied following Lance as they drove onto the road of Little Haiti.
Vic saw in his rear-view mirror that he and Lance were being followed by a couple of vehicles. Martinez must have sent his guy after the brothers. But Vic had no time to worry about that. He continued driving and sticking right behind his brother as the two drove the vehicles through the street.
Vic and Lance made a right turn on the long road and continued driving straight down. The good news was that the brothers had finally lost the two vehicles chasing after them. The bad news? The still had to deal with the Hunter up above as they made a left turn on the bridge.
Martinez, while in the Hunter hovering above, had dropped missiles from the vehicle. So Vic and Lance dodged as many of the missiles as they could as they drove through the road. Each and every one of them missed and only succeeded in hitting the pavement instead.
As the brothers made it at the end of the road, they saw that the police was up ahead, barricading the end of the bridge with police cars. The Hunter then stopped shooting missiles and flew away quickly.
"Hey, looks like the cops have scared off Martinez," Lance said over the radio as the two drove the trucks through the police cars. This prompted the policemen to hop inside their vehicles and chased after the two trucks. The brothers didn't contemplate the police catching a couple of vehicles with ample shipment.
"Ah shit!" Lance screamed through the radio. "They're after us now!"
And before the brothers knew it, there were police trucks chasing after them as well. They continued driving through Ocean Beach until they finally lost the police around the curve of the road. Vic followed Lance all the way to an apartment building, where Lance had parked the truck inside of. Vic parked inside as well and exited the vehicle.
"Rich at last, uh-huh, rich at last, huh...Thank God almighty, we are rich at last," Lance jeered as he exited the vehicle and garage as well.
"We haven't sold this shit yet," Vic told him
"We better," Lance replied. "I've just bought us both fancy apartments. We're mortgaged to the hilt!"
"We're supposed to get out of this shit," Vic told him.
"We are," Lance claimed. "But I gotta do it in style. I've got a reputation to uphold."
After a few minutes, Vic was inside the apartment Lance had purchased for him - the Clymenus Suite. It was a nice place inside. The walls were immaculately white, the carpets were clean, the kitchen was spic-and-span, and even the bedroom was neat and organized.
Looks like Lance did something good for once, Vic thought.
He had hoped that Lance had gotten rid of the coke that was still sitting inside the two trucks and that the brothers would never have anything to do with drugs after this. For now, he decided to explore his new apartment for a while. He searched the wardrobe in the closet and found nice suites hanging inside and suede shoes on the bottom. Vic was feeling rather satisfied at this point.
Just then, he heard his pager beep and took it off his belt to read the message. It was from Louise.
"Lance tells me you're gonna be rich," the message read. "Does that mean you don't have time for me no more?"
Vic sighed guiltily. It has only been a day since Louise had moved in her new home in Vice Point. So he dressed into one of the suits in the closet and headed out the door. He and Louise lived in nice homes, and with Vic's empire buildings becoming a success, he had enough time to spend time with Louise. He saw that he had a red Stinger in the garage and hopped inside. He slowly backed out of the garage, onto the road, and drove away to see Louise in her new home.
