A/N Okay, just saying, that episode last night, amazing. Like as good as episode two of this season. Wow. Loved Murphy, loved Octavia, kinda ship Octavia with the guy who helped her, I forgot his name, and I can't wait to see what happened to Bellamy. Only thing I wished is that we could get some more of Madi. I mean we haven't had any Madi since maybe episode 1 and I like her character. Anyway, enjoy.
"Bellamy," Monty says, a dangerous edge to his voice. "Get out."
"Monty," Bellamy starts.
"No. Out. If you want, wait outside, but I need to tell her something that she needs to hear."
"Fine."
Bellamy leaves the room, putting his shirt back on as he entered the hallway.
"What the hell are you doing? Huh, Raven? You had that whole big talk with me and Harper and now what? You decided to screw away your problems?"
"Listen Monty," you yell. "He doesn't like me. He doesn't feel nearly the same for me as I do for him."
"So what? You decided to sleep with Bellamy in hopes that it makes you forget Murphy? Or are you trying to make Murphy jealous?"
"Neither! I want Murphy, but he doesn't want me!"
"And you decided that all on your own? Is that it Raven? Men are dumb, okay. Most of all Murphy. He is probably clueless as to your feelings. Come on. You and Murphy have history. He probably never thought about you in that way, but if you do nothing and just sleep around, trying to bury your feelings, he will never think of you and him as a possibility. Confess your feelings to him and you never know what will happen. What are you afraid of?"
"I'm afraid to get rejected Monty. To get hurt."
"Well that's a risk you should be willing to take. Plus, does Bellamy know you're in love with Murphy? Or are you just stringing Bellamy along. Do this shit that you're doing, it ends one way, everyone being hurt."
"That's not fair Monty," you say.
"Doesn't matter if it's fair Raven. It's the hard truth, and you need to know it."
"Fine, I'll talk to him."
"Good," Monty says, before turning around to walk back out the door. "Should I tell Bellamy to come back inside?"
"No," you say, sighing. "Can you tell him to go?"
"No problem. And Raven, good luck."
"Thanks Monty."
"No problem. Just don't do anything dumb. I'm not going to keep telling you the same thing, so after this, you do what you want."
"Don't worry, I'll tell him. I promise."
"Good."
It is the next day, when you finally catch Murphy alone.
"Hey Murphy," you greet as you make your way to his seat.
"Hi Raven," he returns.
"I need you to listen to me without interrupting okay." He nods. "Good. Listen to me. I came to a realisation on the Ark. I realised that I love you. And I know now is a terrible time to say it, because I know you're with Ontari, and I respect that, I just wanted you to know, in case it changes anything."
Murphy just sits there, dumbstruck, until you speak up again.
"That's all I had to say," you say before leaving quickly, unable to see his reaction.
Murphy's POV
You sit there, still too confused to speak, despite Raven leaving you over five minutes ago.
"Hey," calls Ontari. "Let's go up to our room."
"Can I get the night to myself?" you ask. "I need to think through some stuff."
Ontari nods, and you walk like a zombie back to your room. Ontari or Raven? The question bugged you to no end, upsetting your usual sleep schedule. I need to talk to someone, you think to yourself. You think of who you should talk to before it hits you. You know someone who went through this same thing, in another life.
And it is five minutes later when you find yourself knocking on their door. When the door swings open, you are not surprised to see two confused eyes looking back at you. Not the two eyes you came looking for though.
"Hi Lincoln," you greet to the big man. "I really need to talk to Octavia."
He nods and calls to Octavia, who was somewhere in the room. "Ai hodness. Murphy says he needs to talk to you."
"Let him in," you hear Octavia say.
Lincoln steps aside, letting you walk in as he closes the door behind you. You take a seat on the couch facing the bed, where Lincoln makes his way to cuddle next to Octavia.
"Sorry for interrupting," you say sheepishly.
"It's okay," says Lincoln, clearly the more welcoming of the two.
"I need to ask you something about your romantic life," you say, allowing them the time to decide whether or not Lincoln should stay. He does not move after an extended pause, so you continue.
"When we came on the ground, you and Jasper had something going, then he got hit with the spear, so you started a little thing with Atom. Then, Atom died and Jasper got better so things rekindled, but then you met Lincoln. What made you forget about Jasper totally in that sense? What made you choose Lincoln?"
"Oh," says Octavia, now clearly uncomfortable that Lincoln was there. However, he put his hand on her back and whispered in her ear, and she calmed down.
"You and Lincoln are perfect for one another, but what told you that. You barely even knew him and you ran off with him, you chose him over Jasper who you had more with at the time. Why?"
"It was something that I honestly can't explain. A relationship to me was always something that made two people one person, for better or for worse. At the time, me and Jasper were the same, so if you combine two of the same thing, do you get something new and different? No. Lincoln however was not the same as me, and together, we make something new and better, not just more of the same thing. You understand?"
"I think. Thanks," you say before leaving.
You leave their room, and decide against doing anything at the moment; it was too late at night. You make your way back to your room, confident in the decision you must make tomorrow.
You wake up to the sun shining through the windows in your room. You get ready, an extra pep in your step, and you pretend to not know why. You leave your room and make your way to the nightbloods' floor. There, you find the girl you came for.
"Ontari," you greet. She comes for a kiss but you pull away. "I'm sorry. This is not working. There's someone else."
She nods, dejectedly, and you feel a pang of guilt.
"I'm really sorry. I hope we could be friends," you try.
She nods and just goes back into her room to sulk.
You feel bad, but the feeling quickly leaves as you make your way downstairs where you know everyone is having breakfast.
You enter the room with a dramatic flair as your eyes search for the mechanic. You find her and then your heart sinks down to hell.
She's right there, sitting down, her hand interlocked with his and her lips attached to his.
Finn Collins.
A/N Cliffhanger.
