A/N: Okay another chapter! I live somewhere that covid is getting more and more problematic so I think I'll be self-isolating for much much much longer than anticipated or really wanted. But, good news for you all means that I'll be continuing to write. This also means that you'll have regular podcast episodes as well. If you don't know my friends and I have a podcast called "Food For Nerds" and you can get us anywhere you listen to your other podcasts. Follow us on insta at: foodfornerdspodcast

Also, I'm very sorry for how long this chapter took. I was working on that turned out to be a really long one-shot called "Let the Games Begin." It's another Klaine-centric story. If you like badyboy!Blaine and Cheerio!Kurt that story might be interesting for you.

Now, onto the chapter! Enjoy!

Song: Jar of Hearts

Lyrics: "No I can't take one more step towards you, cause all that's waiting is regret."

Summary: Kurt was warned, he absolutely was. But, he couldn't tear his heart away from Dalton's resident bad boy. Was that such a bad thing?

Rating: T: Blaine is a general bad boy in this one. So, whatever you envision that to be… just no smut. Fun fact, this is one of the only fics that I've actually incorporated music into the fic itself, I usually don't feel confident in that area but I really felt like this one needed it.

"What do you know about Blaine Anderson?" The dining hall went silent as Kurt picked at his food and mentioned the name of the one boy he had yet to actually get a feel for. "What?" He raised his eyes from his tray to look at Jeff, a fellow Warbler, who was sitting across from him.

"Stay away from him."

"What?"

"Just... Blaine has..." Jeff trailed off and looked at his fellow Warblers as if asking for help in explaining. Because the truth was, no one really knew a lot about Blaine. He was the Academy's resident bad boy. He was never in full uniform, always came into the dorms late, smelled like smoke, and was known for pranks and destruction of property. None of the boys knew exactly why he was still at Dalton, but it appeared that as the oldest son of Anderson and Son's lawyer John Anderson, could get into as much trouble as he wanted, and "daddy's money" seemed to make it all better.

To Kurt, Blaine was an enigma. The raven-haired bad boy reminded him of various public-school students that he had met. A mix between a delinquent, a music nerd, and a stoner. Blaine was known as a bad boy, he didn't follow the rules, and he didn't care. But, Blaine was also kind-hearted. He sang with the Warblers and even though the rest of the boys just seemed to ignore him; Kurt noticed him. He wasn't exactly what Kurt had expected when he thought about prep schoolboys, but he always noticed that his cheeks heated a bit and his heart seemed to pound more heavily whenever Blaine was around.

"Whatever you're thinking, Kurt, stop it. It isn't a good idea." Nick, Jeff's boyfriend, added in his two cents as he plopped down next to Kurt with his piece of pizza. "Anderson is bad news."

"Why would you say that?" Kurt's lunch was now completely forgotten about. He let his eyes drift over to where Blaine sat in the corner—alone. Blue met hazel and the shorter boy winked, before getting up to toss his tray and saunter out of the room. Blaine had helped him on numerous occasions, but they had never had a full-length conversation. Their interactions were usually a few sentences in class (the one's Blaine went to anyway), help with Warbler's harmonies, or giving directions. In fact, Blaine had been the first student he had ever officially met. But, somehow, Kurt always managed to be pulled away by his other friends before he could say more than a sentence or two to the fascinating bad boy.

"He breaks hearts." Nick shrugged and gestured towards his boyfriend across the table. "He and Jeff had a thing when he transferred in freshman year."

"Let's not talk about that, I'm still mentally scarred by the fact I could ever like someone like that."

As the two dissolved into their own conversation, Kurt found himself dumping his tray and quietly slipping out of the crowded dining hall, following the scent of smoke and coffee through the ornate halls.

"I don't even try to fight it. Yes, I'm too mature to hide it. All that I feel can't even explain. But I know a day doesn't' go bay where I don't go out of my way for you."

When Kurt left the dining hall he wasn't completely sure where he was going. Blaine had been a student for two more years than he had and with such a long head start, he could be off the grounds already for all Kurt knew. But for some reason, his mind was nagging him to go after him and find him. Because anyone is a prep school acting the way Blaine did had to have a secret or a history and Kurt was compelled. He was passing one of the practice rooms in the music wing when he heard it. The smooth tenor drifted magically through the silent hallways, echoing off of the marble and dragging Kurt toward the only open room.

"My heart beats every beat for you. I hurt when you're hurt, I'm blue when you're blue. And I'm fighting but even the greatest of walls withstand. My love is strong, but it's weary from the climb. Why can't you help me?"

Kurt hesitantly stepped into the room, the pure emotion in the words calling to him like a beacon. He knew that what he was hearing was the outpouring of someone's soul and them confessing things they had obviously been burying for far too long. The problem was, Kurt had no idea who it was or what he could say, he hadn't really thought that part through. All he knew was he stood at the entrance of the practice room with a piano obscuring the haunted boy playing with his heart.

"why why why won't you let me do what lovers supposed to do? Does it even matter to you that my heart beats every beat for you…"?

Kurt knew that wasn't the end of the song, but the boy's voice was cut off by a harsh choking sound and a broken sob. It took all of his energy not to bound around the piano and wrap whoever it was in a gentle hug. He didn't have to know them or understand what they were going through, it was just obvious that they needed someone. Instead, he stood motionless at the door, and as the other boy slumped off of the piano bench and met his eyes, he gasped. "Blaine?"

The curly-haired aby boy wiped the last remnant s of tears sloppily with fingers painted with chipping black polish and sent Kurt an icy gaze. "What are you doing here, sexy? One of your boy toys lose you?"

"I saw you run out of the dining hall and I wanted to make sure you were okay."

Blaine snorted and tolled his eyes as he picked up his backpack from the foot of the piano. "Well thank you but I think I can take care of myself," he walked briskly to Kurt putting his lips mere centimeters from Kurt's ear, letting his hot breath ghost over the sensitive area. "Don't you think?"

Kurt felt his heart rate increase and he shivered at the almost contact. He had known that Blaine was a flirt, that he was talented, and that he was dangerous. What he hadn't expected was to be at the receiving end of those advances after hearing the boy all but spill his heart out sitting at a piano. It completely changed his outlook on the bad boy, and he suddenly felt very brave.

As Blaine went to pull away, Kurt grabbed his wrist and spun him back around. "You can," he took a step closer, "but that doesn't mean you should…" he trailed off and placed his hand on the shorter boy's chest. He felt Blaine's hear speed up slightly as he breathed deeply before taking a step closer to Kurt, basically breathing in the air that the taller boy breathed out. The two of them stood for a moment just gazing at each other, Kurt desperately searching for answers in Blaine's honey-colored eyes. "What was the song about?"

Blaine closed his eyes before tilting his head just a fraction of an inch and connecting their lips. He felt Kurt gasp against him but before he could pull back thinking he had misread the signals (he wasn't a monster, he wasn't going to force Kurt into anything) he felt nimble finger thread themselves through his curls and pull him closer, their lips pressing more firmly together.

For Blaine, this was one of many kisses. He wasn't easy but he did have an image to uphold. He didn't like the way the other guys talked about him being a heartbreaker. He had never meant to lead anyone on, he really wasn't a bad guy. But, he liked the feeling of kissing and he wasn't one to turn down an offer. But this was different from any kiss he had experienced before. This was sweet and calm, their lips just melting together in a completely innocent way.

For Kurt, it wasn't his first kiss, but that didn't mean much. His first kiss had been a girl and his second had been forced on him. Neither of those he really counted. Since coming to Dalton he'd also maybe gotten to experiment with one or two of the guys, but it was nothing like this. It was nothing like inhaling a mix of smoke and mint or feeling completely content and safe in Blaine's arm. If he was honest it was a little bit scary.

When the need for oxygen became too much and they pulled apart Kurt gingerly let his forehead rest against Blaine's and let their eyes connect again. "You didn't answer my question," he all but whispered.

Blaine smirked and let his lips fall almost against Kurt's. The other boy could literally feel the answer as Blaine spoke. "You." Then their lips were pressed together again. Blaine steered them toward a couch a few feet away and lowered Kurt down on top of him. They stayed like that lazily kissing, Blaine being careful to keep his legs a distance from Kurt's, knowing the boy wasn't ready for any other tactile sensations at the moment, as much as Blaine's soul was reaching out to be as close of physically possible.

After what seemed like hours the two broke apart again and Kurt settled his head down on Blaine's chest just listening to the other breath, trying to hold onto the moment that he thought must be a dream. Blaine clutched him tightly, fingers gently caressing his back trying to impart comfort in one of the only ways he knew how. "I've never been good with words," he finally said into the silence. "That's why I sing. I know it seems weird given me…" he gestured the length of his body. "But I love it and I just needed to… get it out. I'm sorry you had to hear it like that."

"I'm not," Kurt said after a moment, pushing himself up slightly so he could see the other boy's face. "I'm glad I heard you." He placed a soft kiss to Blaine's lips who whimpered slightly when they pulled apart, only to pull Kurt's face back to him and draw him into a deeper kiss.

The Warblers were just a little shocked to walk into the practice room that afternoon to find the two comfortably napping on the burgundy couch, Blaine's arms tightly wrapped around Kurt's waist and Kurt's hands tangled in dark messy curls.

A/N: So cute, so fluffly, so Klaine… Hope you guys liked this and hopefully the next few chapters will be out fast than this one. The only things that derail me are hurricanes (because of power outages) and other stories that won't leave my mind haha. Hope you all have a lovely day!

The pieces of song used in the chapter are from: Melanie Fiona's "Break Down These Walls."
