Chapter 24
If you're always looking for reasons not to be with somebody, well, you'll always find them. And I guess at some point maybe you should let go and give your heart what it deserves.
Weeks Later
The Scott Home
"If you want me to hate aunt Brooke now. I will put up a great effort to do so." Aurora stated. As the father and daughter sat down to have breakfast together in the kitchen. Side by side at the dining room table.
Lucas focused his gaze on his daughter. "You're aunt Brooke loves you as if you were her own. She always has. She's been in you're life from before you were born. And you love her. The two of you have a special bond. That should be treasured and cherished. I don't ever want you to hate Brooke."
"Sometimes people that love each other have to be apart. Our break up shouldn't affect the relationship you have with her." Lucas stated.
"But you're my dad and she broke you're heart. I'm allowed to pick sides. I'm on yours." Aurora replied.
"Let's finish with breakfast then i'll drop you off at school before heading into the office." Lucas said.

Clothes over Bros
Brooke took a long sip of coffee. As she wiped her tear stained face. For days now she's been unable to sleep. Crying until she tired herself out. The breakup between herself and Lucas was tearing her apart from the outside in. She missed him so much. And Aurora. That girl was a practically a daughter to her.
She couldn't stand the way things were now. But knew it had to stay this way until she figured out what she really wanted out of life.
"Wow you look miserable." Nathan Scott said. Walking towards the front his lifelong friend was standing.
Brooke stared back at him. "Thank you for you're honesty. And i feel worse then i look so that should tell you everything you need to know. You aren't here to buy anything so i take it you came by to visit.?" She asked.
"Yeah exactly that. See how you're holding up. The break up was the talk of the town. It shows how little the rest of us have going on." Nathan said.
"I'll manage. He was right to break up with me. I'm confused and terrified of ending up like my parents. Of me ruining his life and Aurora's. Maybe it's for the best that i stay away."
"Did you know about the proposal.?" Brooke asked.
"I did. I helped him pick out the ring. But who knows the proposal may happen one day soon. If and when the two of you get back together." Nathan said.
"How is he handling everything.?" Brooke questioned.
"He's hurting. Lucas misses you. So does she would admit it or not. Don't lose hope." Nathan said.
"I'll leave and let you get back to work." Nathan said.
Brooke got out from behind the desk. And walked over to where Nathan was. Pulling him into a tight hug.
"Thanks Nate. For the talk and for being there. You and Haley both. I've basically got my name written on Jake and Peyton's guest room door with how many nights i've stayed there."
"I'll let you go." Brooke said. Letting him go from her arms.
"What are friends for." Nathan replied as he headed towards the door.
The store door swung open with a bang. As Haley James Scott ran inside. A look of panic across her face. Tears running from her eyes.
As she went towards her husband and one of her closest girlfriends.
"The car was rigged.! Lucas's car was rigged by Link's men. Because of Rachel. He was trapped inside. He was in the parking lot of the office on his way to work.!" Haley exclaimed.
"Where is he! Where have to get to the hospital!" Nathan exclaimed.
"I'll drive." Brooke yelled out. Clutching her car keys tightly.
