Color Inside the line
Chapter 26th
Admiral Nelson ran over to Executive Officer Stu Riley. "What the hell is going on Riley?" He said loud for everyone to hear his question.
Turning to face the Admiral near the radar station. "Sir we have bogey's on the screen with some sort of jets coming in towards us. And we have tried contacting them by radio."
"Of course not Riley. General Norton no doubt has them on radio silence. I suggest we dive to 1,000 feet and hug the bottom using all detection devices to make them think we are able to get away from them."
Nelson will order with Executive Officer Riley grabbing the mike to speak with the missile room about the detection devices.
And in the meantime Commander Harrison had arrived as well half asleep coming from his cabin. "Some of the crew is worried about the jets coming into our area. They need to know just what exactly is going on." He stated with buttoning the last two buttons on his uniform.
Admiral Nelson grabbed the mike from Commander Harrison's hand to talk with his crew. "Attention all hands. Please be aware that we currently have a spy on board that will try anything to destroy us, along with what is going on with the jets ordered by General Norton of the Exeter trying to defeat us with the exercises. He will do anything to get us out of the picture to win that trophy and prize monies. However it's turning into a deadly situation. So stay alert at your stations and await further orders. Nelson out."
He was able to scan the faces of those working in the Control room with worry and other concerns to be unable to be with their families back in Santa Barbara.
Meanwhile the jets were getting closer and the Seaview had dropped down to 1,000 feet the deepest part of the area. For when it comes to the radar systems on the jets they weren't able to see just where exactly the Seaview was located. So Colonel James Bracken gave the order to his team members to drop their bombs.
Exploding around eight hundred feet ...The concussion slightly knocked the Seaview crew off their feet with very little damage. Admiral Nelson ordered navigation to change the course veering away from the jets location at full speed. Executive Officer Riley and Commander Harrison was worried as to why the bombs were packing a wallop to the explosives.
Nelson had the same question in his mind as well while walking quickly over to the radio shack. "Sparks send a message to General Norton. As to why you're using explosives that are fully charged with trying to sink us for real. Understand the message Sparks?"
"Aye Admiral. I will get on it right away." He had gone to work to send the coded message.

On board the Exeter
General Norton inside the bridge with the captain elsewhere. His radioman was receiving a coded message from the Seaview. He called out to the General sitting in his chair watching and waiting. "Sir there is a message for you from Admiral Nelson of the Seaview. " As he hands him the typed message having been put through the coding device.
Norton begins reading wondering what the hell is going on with why the bombs have high grade explosives. "I just don't get this." He said to himself before turning to look at the radioman receiving another message from Colonel James Bracken telling the Exeter that they had lost the Seaview on their radar screens. "Have the jets ordered back to the Exeter ASAP and than I want to speak with Colonel Bracken when he and his team have landed back."
"Yes sir right away. Shall I inform the Captain on the deck?" He asked the General extremely pissed off that the exercise is not going smoothly at all.
Thirty minutes later the jets returned with Colonel James Bracken being the first to land and with Crew Chief Daniels telling him that General Norton wishes to speak with you on the bridge right away."
"It doesn't sound good at all Chief?" Bracken will say to him with removing his helmet, gloves and breathing mask.
"No it doesn't. I believe it has something to do with losing contact with the Seaview." Chief Daniels said with watching the Colonel leave while taking care of the jet and placing it down into the hanger deck while other jets were landing as well.
Colonel James Bracken wasn't exactly happy with the prospects of meeting with the general right now. It wasn't his fault that they had lost contact. No doubt it was Admiral Nelson and his brains giving the orders to change course with hugging the bottom of the ocean floor.
Taking the steps up to the main level of the bridge. He opened the metal door to enter seeing the General sitting reading reports. He was wondering where the Captain had gone this time.
He walks slowly over to the general reading when he raises his face to see the Colonel still in his flying gear. "Colonel would you mind telling me why those bombs that you dropped were at full charged with the explosives?" He was serious for when it came to the question as Colonel Bracken was confused.
"Sir what are you talking about? We dropped no bombs since we were in the location. However we had spotted another bogey that wasn't the Seaview's signature. So we dropped at another bogey and we had thought that maybe we might of hit the target."
"I don't get it Colonel. Why didn't our scanners indicated that their was another bogey in the target area? Unless Admiral Nelson was right with his coded messages sent that their were spies on board the Exeter and the Seaview. Along with a bogey of another neutral country sending in a submarine to try and catch us with our pants down."
"In regard to spies on board the Exeter. Do you expect anyone in general?" Colonel Bracken was curious with his nature.
