Since their dinner with Hank, Judy had been coming around at least once a week. Quinn was starting to believe she had really gotten her Mom back. Those few glimmer's she had held on to as a girl of her Mom being really there for her. Cami had already started to get attached to her. Judy told her stories about when Quinn was a little girl.
Mouse hadn't been sleeping well. Quinn noticed him staring out of the kitchen window.
"Is everything ok?" She asked making him jump.
"Yeah" He said putting an arm around her "I'm fine, I'm glad things are going well with your Mom"
"It's been kind of nice having her back" She nodded "I think she really meant what she said"
"You know she asked me my intentions" He told her with a smirk.
"I hope you said they're honorable" She teased.
"Complete opposite" He shrugged.
"I bet" She laughed as he went for her ticklish spot squirming out of the way.
"Do you have to go out tonight?" He asked.
"I promised the girls" She replied "But I can come home early"
"Enjoy your night" He said shaking his head "I'll be up when you get back"
"Should I be worried about how little you're sleeping?" She asked putting her arms around him.
"I've just been thinking about a few things" He shrugged "I'm fine really"
"You know you can talk to me" She said pulling back.
"I know" He said pushing a curl behind her ear.
Quinn put on her new little black dress that Gabby had helped her pick up and a pair of heels. She curled her hair and pulled out her red lipstick. She was going with Sylvie and Gabby to a new club that had opened for a change of scenery. Quinn had never really done the whole club thing so Sylvie had insisted she couldn't go through her twenties without going to one.
Mouse had told her not to get a babysitter. Jay was coming over because Erin was working overtime.
"I'm just saying you'd like the x-box if you gave it a try" He tried telling Cami.
"I don't want to play a boring game" Cami whined.
"If you don't want another Disney movie, she can kick your butt at poker" She said picking up her purse.
"I don't thinkā¦"He said turning around "Woah that's what you're wearing?"
"Why what's wrong with it?" She asked "I don't go to clubs, Gabby said this was better"
"You look beautiful" He reassured her "But maybe you should come back early"
"You look really pretty Mom" Cami told her "But can you tell Mouse we have to watch tangled"
"Why don't you do both and then you'll both be happy" She suggested shaking her head.
"Fine" Cami huffed.
"And kick Jay's butt at poker" She added kissing her head "Goodnight baby girl"
"See you later" Mouse said kissing her goodbye.
Quinn laughed rubbing the smudged lipstick from his face.
"Goodnight" She said.
Sylvie was beyond excited to be going out. They had a few drinks at her apartment before they were heading out.
"So, you work with Antonio, right?" Sylvie asked as she finished straightening her hair.
"Sometimes" She replied "Why?"
"She wants to know if he's talked about her" Gabby told her "They were flirting in Molly's it was very disturbing"
"Well, if I hear anything, I'll let you know" She said with a knowing smile.
"You and Mouse have been living together for a while now" Gabby commented "How is that going?"
"Things have been amazing, ever since we got together, and I love seeing him every day" She said.
"It sounds like there was a but at the end of that sentence" Sylvie said.
"He's been sleeping less, a little quiet sometimes" She sighed "He said he's fine and he seems like he is a lot of the time, but I catch these glimpses and I just worry. But Jay is over tonight so maybe if he won't talk to me, he'll talk to him, it could be nothing."
"He adores you" Sylvie told her "I'm sure it's nothing you need to worry about"
"I was always a big advocate for woman waiting, you don't need a man and other things are more important" She said "But no one has ever made me feel like Greg does"
"See, I want that" Sylvie sighed.
"Antonio would be crazy not to go for a woman like you" She told her.
"Let's go" Gabby said standing up.
Quinn stifled a laugh. She wasn't surprised her brother's love life wasn't a topic she was crazy about. They took a cab to the club. The line was halfway around the block.
"So, this is what I'm missing?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"Come on Quinn" Gabby said nudging her elbow "I know you know how to have fun"
"Is that Kelly?" She asked.
"Hey Severide" Gabby said as they walked past him.
"You know these girls?" The man he was speaking to as the door asked.
"These girls?" Kelly asked with a smirk "I don't know"
"Travis Brenner" The man said introducing himself.
"This is Gabby and Sylvie" Kelly said introducing them "I work with them at 51, and this is Quinn soon to be hot shot lawyer"
"Were you ladies coming in here?" Travis asked.
"Yeah" Sylvie replied "We heard great things"
"You heard right" Travis said turning to the doorman "These ladies are always on the list as well"
"On the list huh Severide" Gabby teased.
"Shut up Dawson" He laughed shoving her playfully as they walked inside.
Travis called over the bartender and told him that their first round was on him before inviting Kelly to his booth.
"I hope I'll see you all later" Travis told them.
Quinn waited until they were gone as she was sipping her cocktail.
"Wasn't he with Stella?" She asked.
"Long story" Gabby said with a shrug "but tonight is about fun"
Gabby led her to the dance floor. There was something so freeing about just letting loose on the dance floor. A little while later Sylvie was dancing with a tall attractive man she had met.
"Looks like someone might have cheered up" She said.
"Come on" Gabby said "Let's go and get another drink"
"So how is my new favorite little guy?" She asked while they waited to get served.
"I didn't think I could ever love someone that much" Gabby replied.
"It hits you hard" she nodded.
"Do you ever stop being scared?" Gabby asked.
"Nope" She replied with a knowing smile "It never goes away"
"You're supposed to lie" Gabby laughed as they ordered another round.
Quinn just smiled shaking her head as she turned around to check on Sylvie. She looked like she was having a great time laughing and joking.
"I think she really needs to blow off some steam" Gabby shrugged.
Quinn told Gabby she would meet her back on the dance floor and excused herself to go to the ladies' room.
She took out her phone and text Mouse to make sure Cami was ok and that he was having a good night.
"Well that's not a good sign" Travis said "You should be enjoying yourself"
"Oh, I am" She replied "I just need to check in"
"Quinn the lawyer?" He asked "Right?"
"Law student" She corrected "So this is your club?"
"No" He said shaking his head "I'm kind of a professional partier"
"That's a job?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"Sort of" He shrugged.
"Well I should get back to my friends" She said.
"You better be having fun next time I see you" He told her.
Gabby watched her walking back to the dance floor.
"Was that guy hitting on you?" Gabby asked with a smirk.
"No" She replied shaking her head "He was just being friendly"
"In that dress it was flirting" Gabby told her.
"Gabby Dawson" Kelly called "Get up here"
"Is he drunk?" She asked.
"Oh yeah" Gabby nodded "Come on, maybe we can get some drinks out of him"
"Sylvie are you coming?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes" She said quickly.
"What happened?" She asked long back at the man Sylvie had been dancing with, as they walked up to meet Kelly.
"He started talking about marriage" Sylvie told her wide eyed.
"A marriage proposal?" Gabby asked "See Brett I knew you still had it"
Kelly threw an arm around her shoulder as she got into the VIP area. She smiled shaking her head.
"Kelly Severide are you wasted?" She asked.
"I'm just having a good time" He told her "Isn't that what you three are supposed to be doing?"
"The man makes a good point" Gabby nodded taking a shot that was offered to her and handed one to Quinn.
"I am so going to regret this" She sighed clinking glasses with Gabby and Sylvie.
Quinn checked her phone again for updates. She smiled reading her text. Cami had hustled Jay in poker, and it turned out she was better than him at half of the games they made her play, but Mouse had still won overall, and now she was tucked up in bed.
"Everything ok?" Kelly asked.
"Just checking in on Cami" She replied "All good"
"Travis was asking about you" He said, "Are you still with Mouse?"
"Still together" She nodded "What happened with you and Stella?"
"Just didn't work out" He told her.
"I'm sorry to hear that" She said honestly, she wanted Kelly to be happy.
Quinn enjoyed the rest of her night with Gabby and Sylvie, but she was the first to call it a night. She was in a great mood and had enough drinks. She was ready to go home to Mouse and spend the night with a guy that she loved.
She took her shoes off as she walked in the front door. Mouse was sat in the living room with Jay drinking a few beers.
"She went out in that?" Jay asked.
"I know" Mouse said "I should have gone with her"
"Did you have fun getting beat by an 8-year old at every game you played?" She asked leaning over the couch to kiss Mouse's cheek.
"I think she cheats" Jay said.
"Did you have a good night?" Mouse asked.
"Are you questioning the integrity of my daughter Halstead?" She asked sitting down beside Mouse "And yes I did , it was a nice change, one I will not be repeating for a while"
"I'm not sorry about that" He said
"You missed me?" She asked.
"He's not as pretty to look at" He shrugged.
"Have you seen this face?" Jay scoffed.
"Too much of it" He retorted.
"On that note I'm going to leave you two to it" Jay said standing up.
Quinn waited until Jay had left before straddling Mouse on the couch.
"So, it was a fun night" He said putting his hands on her hips.
"But I'm happier being here" She said leaning down to kiss him.
He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom kicking the door closed behind them.
