Chase and Randy had been talking every day and night for the last three weeks. They were meeting in Texas tomorrow night to have dinner. It was early in the morning. Chase was at her house in San Diego, California. She was talking to Randy on the phone. Her assistant Anna came through the door holding a cup carrier with two Starbucks coffees.

"Have a good day Randy." Chase said. "I will." "Bye." They hung up. She smiled.

"I haven't seen you smile like that in years." "Here's your latte."

"Thank you." She said taking it.

"So when are you gonna tell me more about Randy?"

"I told you, we went to school together."

"That smile says there's more." "Not to mention when I picked up your prescriptions for you a couple weeks ago, I couldn't help but notice the new prescription of birth control pills." She said smiling. "You haven't had those for two years." "Is he an ex-boyfriend?"

"No." He was my best friend Angela's boyfriend. "I always had a crush on him but I was very plain looking back then." "They started dating when we were in middle school." "She started cheating on him our freshman year when they started sleeping together." "I knew about it and kept it from him because I was protecting Angela." "Our sophomore year I started tutoring Randy in algebra, we got close and both admitted we were attracted to each other." "One day he was helping me rehearse for the school play." "He kissed me, it was my first." "We came very close to having sex but got interrupted." "We fought our attraction to each other from then on." "One night Randy caught Angela with another guy." "He came to my house and we had sex for the first time, it was April 12th 1996, I was a virgin." "He broke up with Angela for about a week and we continued sleeping together." "He asked me to be his girlfriend but I said I couldn't do that to Angela." "She convinced Randy to take her back." "I got a boyfriend named Trevor after that, Randy's best friend." "Randy wasn't to happy about it and around that time was the first Randy told me he loved me." "I dated Trevor for about three months." "He broke up with me because when I was in the hospital after that man tried to kill me, Trevor saw Randy and I kissing." "About a week after we broke up, Angela and Trevor were drunk at a party and the slept together." "She told me about the next day." "I was upset and told Randy." "He broke up with her and told her about us." "Apparently she told him I knew about Angela cheating the whole time." "Randy came over to my house and we got in a big fight." "That was the last time he, Angela and I talked until our reunion."

"Wow."

"Yeah."

"Did you love him?"

"Yeah." "I never admitted it to him but he knew." "Truth be told, I can't wait to go to dinner with him." "He makes me feel the same way he did when I was a kid."

"Do you think you two will get together?"

"If he asked me I wouldn't say no."

The next night Chase and Randy got to the restaurant at the same time.

"Hi." She said.

"Hi." "You look beautiful."

"Thanks, you look handsome."

"Thanks."

They ordered and were eating.

"How long have you been a professional wrestler?" She asked.

"Since I was twenty-one."

"So you didn't go to college?"

"No." "Did you?"

"I went to Juilliard on a drama scholarship." "After I graduated I was in a low budget horror movie but a big director saw it and that's how I got my big break."

"Why the name change?"

"I was told my name was to masculine." "So I picked the last name Monroe after Marylyn Monroe."

"I see you finally got a tan."

"It's spray on." "Have you ever been married?"

"No." "You?"

"Once, married at twenty-one, divorced at twenty-two." "It was a big mistake." "I should've listened to my mom."

"How is she doing?"

"Good." "I bought her a big house in Missouri."

"Do you still live in Missouri?"

"I have a house there but I live in San Diego."

"I just bought a house in Missouri." "Wanna see a picture?"

"Yeah." He got out his phone. "That's nice."

"Thanks."

"Is that your motorcycle?" She said pointing to the one in the picture.

"Yeah." "We could go for a ride sometime."

"That would be nice."

Randy walked Chase to her car.

"Well we've officially went on our first date." Randy said. "Did you have fun?"

"I guess." She smiled. "I had a great time."

"Me to." "Can we go out again?"

"Yeah." He kissed her. She kissed him back.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight." She got in her car and left.
