Chapter 24th

"I could use a cup of hot tea right now. My superiors sometime later or in the morning will need to speak with me for when it came to the senator being shot and killed inside the safe house. However I would like to know why how this shooter was able to get in never the the less?" He had to say with a chill going through his entire body.

Meanwhile Francine had gone over to the stove to put on the kettle after feeling it with water. She turned to see him sit down shivering. She had to grab a blanket from the bedroom in order to keep him warm.

"About the shooter Robert, maybe there is some one inside the safe house is a mold that was able to get him inside with the possible flaws in the designs of this complex?" She will need to asked since she has been through this before with IFF over the years.

"It's possible Francine that there might be a mold since it was mention in a report several months prior to be simply overlooked. It's no doubt like with your Operation Silverfoxes on who or what is going to be the next target!" He stated to have Francine scared at the idea of another nuclear site blowing up in the population faces.

It was moments later when the tea was ready along with the sandwiches she had made earlier in case he had come over after he was done with the senator. "Actually I am in the mood for Turkey club sandwiches and tea. Afterwards I do hope I can stay here the night and leave in the morning before going to work." He had to plea with her for he hopes for a brief moment.

"Of course you can stay Robert. You came here needing my help both emotionally, mentally and at some point being physical for which I will submit to it without fighting the issue. However Robert, I will need to make contact with my boss Billy Melrose and tell him whats been going on." She requested with Robert pulling out his cell-phone to contact IFF.

"Here you go Francine. Please make it quick since I have no idea on whether anyone in this particular area is listening in to make matters worst."

Time : Ten' clock p.m.

Billy Melrose's residence

He had just walked into his house with his wife upstairs asleep in bed. He was exhausted and wasn't in any mood for bull crap from his agents or anyone else. He placed his hat and jacket on the rack after making sure the front door was locked.

He was slightly hungry and in need to make him something to eat before going to bed. He walked into the kitchen to find a note from his wife telling him she loved him and the fact she had made him the famous Turkey Club sandwiches with Cole slaw and either potato salad. Now he was really hungry when all of a sudden his phone was ringing from inside his pants pocket having it down low.

He didn't know who the caller was on the screen. Though he needed to answer it any way in case it was something important. "This is Billy Melrose of IFF. How can I help you?" He was curious since he had no idea who he was talking to.

"Billy it's Francine Desmond at the Evergreen safe house. I am sorry, I am using one of the employees phone. I need to let you know that there was a break in here with a senator having been shot and killed. I have no idea if it had anything with Operation Silverfoxes. How is Lee?" She had to asked and explain later to Robert.

"Alive after two attempts on his life and now he's home from the hospital against my orders and of course Amanda's. When did this happened with the shooting of the senator?" He asked with grave concern in his voice and hungry demeanor.

"Tonight. Listen I won't be able to make any further contact with you in case this call was traced. Billy please take care of yourself and the rest of the IFF team." She ends the call to begin eating, drinking what after happens afterwards.

"I will need to turn off this phone tonight in case anyone tries to get in contact with me Francine." Robert had to say feeling better with the blanket wrapped around him."

"I think it would be wise to get rid of it quickly in case the phone was being tapped." She responded. "Do you have a small screw driver or anything small to open up the back of this phone. We can find out quick on whether there is a bugging device inside."

"Give me a moment maybe I can get the back off without the using of the screw driver." He takes the phone from her hand to begin his work on getting the back off taking a few moments.

Francine was getting anxious when finally it came off to find a small bugging transmitter inside. Robert was pissed as to who might of done this to him from inside the safe house. It was at this moment that Robert smash the phone to break it into pieces and including the transmitter with whom ever was listening in.

"At least this will settle about getting rid of the phone. I have a feeling you're not going to be able to trust anyone right now especially after what has happened with the senator being shot and killed. " She said calmly without furthering upsetting him further.

"I will agree with you not trusting anyone right now. " Robert kissed her making her and himself feeling safe for the moment together. Even though they weren't going to have sex. He just wanted to spend the time with the woman that has been hurt in her past like himself.

Hopefully something good will come out of it.
