Rey walks off the Falcon. Luke shoots a gaze at Rey. "Tell me. Have you ever used a lightsaber?" "Yes. I used it to fight Kylo." "And who won?" "I… I don't know… The walkway exploded between us and we both ran off." "Lucky that he didn't cut anything off." He looks at his own hand before looking back at her. "Allow me to show you how to use it properly. Follow me."

They then walk to a flat, circular rock surrounded by grass. Luke stares intensely at Rey. "Draw!" As soon as he says that, he gets out his lightsaber while Rey gets out her lightsaber with both hands and almost loses her balance while doing so. Luke deactivates his lightsaber. "No no no. You only need one hand when drawing your weapon." "Forgive me. I've been so used to fighting with a quarterstaff." "Fighting with a two-handed weapon, huh? Now you must unlearn what you have learned. Some styles may require two hands with a lightsaber. But for simplicity's sake, we'll keep it to one. Now. Let's try again."

We then see a montage of Rey sparring Luke, starting rather badly but improving as it progresses into the night. She almost gets Luke at one point but still overpowers her. Luke smirks. "A quick learner, just like my sister. Well done." "But I still can't beat you." "This is just one step into a larger world. Don't make the same mistake as Ben or my father did: giving in to the quick and easy. Get some sleep. I have more lessons for you tomorrow."
