All I Ask Of You

Being a ninja, I always slept very lightly and would waken by just the smallest sound or change in chakra signatures around me. Kamiko probably held the only chakra signature I was able to sleep through changing as we had lived together for more than ten years. So, when someone jumped through my window and that someone wasn't Kamiko, I did the only logical thing and threw a Kunai at said person. Of course, that was also when I recognized the chakra signature as Kakashi's.
"Aren't you supposed to be in the hospital?" I hissed quietly, hoping to not awaken Kamiko. Though with her sleeping just as lightly as I did, she was probably up already.
"I missed my girlfriend so I snook out." Kakashi whined and proceeded to lay down right on top of me, crushing me with his weight.
"Kashi! You're heavy!" I somehow managed to groan out. "Get off!"
"But I've missed my Kira-chan…" he complained and ruffled my hair, freeing some strands from the braids I always slept with. Suddenly the door to my room opened and a pissed off Kamiko was glaring at us through the darkness.
"As the two of you can't seem to shut up, I'm going over to Genma's." Kamiko stated coldly. "Akira, do me a favour and tell your boyfriend to stop breaking in during the night. It's troublesome."
"Sorry, Kamiko… I can't help it that he's a moron!" I defended myself with an innocent smile, ignoring Kakashi's pout. "I'll see you at the office tomorrow."
"Mou, Kira-chan, you're so rude to me." Kakashi mumbled and place a kiss on my forehead before rolling off me and pulling me close so my head rested on his chest. "You're lucky I love you."
"You're lucky I love you, considering you broke out of a fucking hospital. I should shave off all your hair as a response to this idiocy." I stated and snuggled closer. "Night, Kashi."
"Night, Kira."

I smiled sadistically as I looked at Kamiko. She was shaking her head fanatically while slowly backing away, only to be stopped by two guards behind her. I cackled maniacally, feeling the fear leaking from the three ANBU Agents in the room.
"You can't do this to me!" Kamiko protested ferociously.
"Yes, yes I can. I'm the Commander." I stated smugly. "My order is for you to take care of my work as the Commander when I do my upcoming solo mission. You'll have to complete all my paperwork and talk with all of the Agents who are either reporting back from a mission or in need of one."
"I refuse! You can't make me talk to people… and do paperwork!" Kamiko argued, leaking killer intent and slight fear.
"It's an order my dear best friend." I told her with a sadistic chuckle. "An order from your Hokage and ANBU Commander."
"I hate you."
"I know."

Tsunade was completely calm while she explained the plan for the 'Save Itachi' mission. After my last intel, the last preparation at the hospital and the redistribution of my Commander duties, Tsunade had worked out a plan for how everything was going to happen.
"I've prepared a body to substitute Itachi's with, make sure to wait to do the shift until Sasuke have taken out his eyes. Once you have him, use a hawk to fly back to Konoha and send word to me so I can tell the Barrier Corps to let you in without any trouble. Bring him straight to the roof of the hospital and make sure that nobody sees who it is you're bringing along. I will be the only one treating him and once he's well enough, you'll bring him to the safe house." Tsunade summarised the entire thing effectively.
"We'll have to deal with Danzo and the elders afterwards, if we're going to get him back in Konoha as a Konoha nin." I stated with a slight frown. "I doubt they'll let us reveal everything without a fight. Not to mention that Danzo still has Shisui-nii-san's eye."
"Yes, you'll probably need it soon if your latest paperwork is anything to go by." Tsunade said with a concerned look. "How bad is it?"
"It's all very blurry and I have a hard time reading." I responded, slightly annoyed at my handicap. While I had used the Mangekyo very carefully to prolong the time I would be able to see, the last genjutsu on Sasuke had taken a lot out of me. Much to Kamiko's frustration as she now had to read and write my reports for me. She didn't like being a glorified personal assistant. "But other than that, I'm good."
"Well, you and Itachi have one of Shisui's eye. So worst case I'll transplant just one and give one of yours to Itachi." Tsunade said with a frown. "We'll deal with it afterwards. Make sure that Itachi knows everything when you meet him again."
"Will do." I said determinately. 'I'm saving you, Itachi, and I don't give a fuck whether or not you want me to. I'm not losing another brother.'

Akira was standing on the top of a cliff, her body shaking from her unstoppable crying and her cheeks stained with salty tears. The thirteen-year-old looked down the cliff her nii-san had jumped off just a few hours ago, while clenching her chest in pain.
"You promised me that you wouldn't leave me." Akira whispered, thinking back when he stayed by her side as she suffered from nightmares. "If… If you can't be here with me, then maybe I can come and be with you? You won't be too mad at me, right? You'll forgive me for leaving sooner than you expected? After all, you left me sooner than I expected. It's only right I return the favour."
Shakenly, the young teen took a step forward so that she was standing on the very edge. Just a slight movement forward, and she would fall and join her brother, protector and closest friend.
"Please forgive me, everyone." She uttered softly, her voice shaking from all her crying. "Shisui-nii-san, I'll be with you now."
She carefully leaned forward with her arms extended and allowed herself to fall.
"NO!" a hand grabbed her left arm and held her tightly, leaving Akira hanging with just his hand saving her from death. Akira looked up and her eyes met the tear-stained ones of Uchiha Itachi. Her death coming closer as his grip gradually loosened. "You can't do this to me! Please! Please, Akira! Just grab my hand!"
Akira looked at her friend, the fear and pain showing clearly through his eyes as he reached his free arm for her to grab. His cheeks were wet with tears as he desperately tried to hold onto her. That's when it hit her; Itachi always said he had three siblings: Sasuke, Shisui and her. Her actions would make him lose another sibling. He had been so desperate to keep her from following Shisui when they witnessed his death. Itachi had probably known that she would try again. As Akira looked at him the faces of the people she cared about flashed through her head. Shisui-nii-san, Tachi, Kamiko, Sasu-chan, Hayato-sensei, Tadashi, Naru-chan, Hokage-jiji and her kaa-san. '
They wouldn't want this.' Akira realised as she looked at Itachi who was desperately clinging onto the last two of her fingers he was able to hold. 'I won't leave him like this.'
She reached up with her free hand and grabbed his hand. Itachi pulled ferociously until the girl was safe on the top of the cliff again. The teens breathed heavily as Itachi pulled Akira into a tight hug.
"Don't you dare leave me like this!" Itachi begged, his voice quivering from fear.
"I won't." Akira assured him softly and hugged him back just as tightly. "Let's make it a promise. As long as you're alive, I won't ever do anything like this again."
"Then I promise to stay alive."

The bar Itachi and I had chosen to meet up in was, for the lack of nicer words, revolting. It was old and run down, the glasses dirty, and dust covering the tables and floor; showing where people had walked and sat before. The people there looked equally repulsive and a horrible odor was filling the entire bar. I had covered my entire body with a tick black cloak with fur lining and a hood hiding my face. With Yukigakure being as cold as one would expect from a village in the Land of Snow, wearing cloaks wouldn't be considered strange. Itachi was seated in one of the corners in the bar, dressed similarly to me. Had I not been so familiar with his chakra signature, I probably wouldn't even have noticed him sitting there. Calmly to not draw anyone's attention, I walked over to my first friend.
"Quite windy today." I said in a deeper voice than my usual one as I sat down next to him.
"Indeed, though I suppose that's to be expected." Itachi responded, also changing his voice enough that any potential eavesdroppers wouldn't recognize it as his. He grabbed my hand and started tapping with his thumb in Morse Code so we could communicate silently. "I've missed you lovely."
'Next month the 7. At the Uchiha no Ajito.' Itachi tapped onto my hand.
"Oh, I've missed you too, sweetheart." I told him sweetly, staying in or agreed character of a poor couple reuniting. "I've heard the mines are opening again, maybe you should try and get a job there?"
'How far away from the battle will I need to be so Zetsu can't sense me? And how do I know it's safe to get your body and do the switch?' I tapped to him with Morse Code.
"That's great! If I can get that job, then we'll have enough money for a small apartment." Itachi continued our spoken conversation.
'With Zetsu focusing on our fight, 300 meters should be far enough, but suppress your chakra anyway. When he leaves, he can be seen for a brief second. If you have a summon close by, that should be enough to tell you when to come and get me.' Itachi replied with Morse Code. 'Any changes in the plan I need to know?'
"Really? You think so?" I asked in fake excitement. "Then if I get a job in one of the shops as well, we'll get one for certain!"
'I placed a genjutsu on Sasuke, he'll take your eyes after the fight before probably passing out. Then I'll arrive with another body to switch yours with and we'll fly back to Konoha on one of my hawks. Tsunade has everything ready for the surgery and we're to arrive right at the hospital.' I explained to him as our spoken conversation switched over to discussing possible apartments.
'Smart move, if he wants to transplant my eyes, he'll have the real ones and it'll keep the fake body from being discovered. A dead body doesn't have any chakra, after all.' Itachi tapped back while proposing a possible place we could move out loud.
'Promise me that you won't die on me.' I tapped on his hand harshly.
'I've already promised you.' Itachi tapped back.
'Yeah, you didn't seem to care much for that promise as you planned your own death.' I continued on our loud conversation which was now moving on to possible shops I could work in.
'I promise you, Akira, I won't leave you.' Itachi responded quickly. 'We'll need to split up soon, the Leader is calling another meeting.'
"My aunt suggested we stay at her place today." I smiled sweetly at Itachi. "Her kids will go to bed soon, so we should get going, sweetheart."
"Your aunt is so kind to us, lovely." Itachi stood up, still holding my hand, and started leading me out of the bar.
'Good luck.' I tapped on his hand once we were out of the bar. 'I'll see you next month.'
