When Elena woke up the next morning in the Mikaelson Mansion, it was to a killer hangover and the early morning light of the sun's rays on her face. Groaning, Elena grabbed the covers and threw them over her head while snuggling into her pillow.
"Oh no you don't, Elena Alicia Gilbert. Get up!"Liah exclaimed as she ripped the covers off the bed.
"Why?"Elena groaned."And can you keep your voice down, I have a hangover."Elena added, grabbing her pillow and hugged it to her person, only for it to be wrestled out of her grip.
"First, of course you have a hangover."Liah said calmly as Elena sat up, glaring at her."All of us got drunk off our asses last night."The hazel green eyed Immortal walked over to the wardrobe, pulling out a white garment bag."And second off, we agreed that you and Elijah would get married today."
"We did?"Elena asked slowly.
Elena glanced at where Elijah should have been awake beside her, to ask him when that was decided, only to realise he wasn't there and looked startled at not seeing him sitting beside her.
"We did."Liah confirmed."Well, Kol, Rebekah, Caroline, and I did."Liah corrected herself.
"When was this?"Elena asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"When you and Jeremy passed out. Caroline came over to check on us, well, mainly you and Jeremy."Liah shrugged."Anyway, while Elijah was putting you to bed and Klaus was putting Jeremy in a guest room, we decided where you guys would get married."Liah explained."That's a surprise by the way, so don't bother asking."Liah quickly added before Elena could ask."Kol dragged Elijah out of bed before the sun came up and they went who knows where while Jeremy went home and said he'll be at the meeting place this afternoon."Liah walked back over to the bed, placing the garment bag down."Meanwhile, Rebekah's gone to the school to clean up and get Caroline and they'll get ready at Caroline's, or I think Rebekah might take Caroline to a salon."
"What about Klaus?"Elena asked curiously.
Liah sighed in annoyance."He's still sulking but he will be there, after he finishes packing."Liah grumbled, frowning before she smiled brightly."I need to get you ready. So come on, get off the bed."
"Do we really have to do this today? I mean, Alaric died last night..."Elena trailed off, frowning and Liah's eyes narrowed.
"Do you suddenly have cold feet and you're using Alaric's death as an excuse?"Liah asked Elena warily.
"No, no!"Elena exclaimed, shaking her head furiously."It's Jeremy and Caroline. I'm worried that getting married so soon after Alaric's death isn't the best idea."
"Elena, love, it was their idea."Liah said in a soothing voice.
"Really?"Elena asked, surprised.
"Yep."Liah said, popping the p."They think that this will be a good distraction for the day."
"Ok, if you're sure."Elena mumbled and was told to go take a shower.
"Ok, you have a choice. Low heels"Liah lifted up the white low heels in her right hand."or flats."She lifted up the other pair of shoes in her left hand.
"Flats."Elena said without missing a heartbeat.
Liah had already done her makeup, which was smokey eyeshadow, a light blush, and a medium shade of bright red lipstick, and her hair was done up in a Asymmetrical Twisted Updo. She also had a bridal crown in her hair and was wearing her wedding dress, which was a white chiffon off shoulder, floor length beaded wedding dress.
Before Liah could try to convince Elena to wear the low heels, the door burst open."Rebekah!"Elena and Liah exclaimed in surprise, and both girls stood up.
Rebekah, looking as furious as she was, paused and her expression softened and became pleased after seeing Elena ready for her wedding."You look beautiful, Elena."Rebekah said softly and smiled brightly at Elena, who blushed softly and smiled back at the blonde.
"Thank you, but what are you doing here? I thought you were with Caroline, getting ready."Elena stated questionably.
The furious look that had disappeared, came back full force."We were about to leave the school to get ready when Alaric attacked us. He completed the transition and has a White Oak Stake."Elena inwardly cursed at forgetting about the White Oak Stake."What's worse is that when Caroline and I tried to stake him, he didn't die. It's like he can't be killed, even by the White Oak Stake!"Rebekah exclaimed and the brunette duo looked at her with wide eyes.
"That's not possible."Liah whispered fearfully as Elena looked thoughtful.
"There's more. He grabbed Caroline."Rebekah added."But she's not dead. I think he's using her as bait."
"We have to go after him."Elena exclaimed and headed for the door, only for Rebekah to appear in her way."Rebekah-No, Elena!"Rebekah cut Elena off sharply, shaking her head.
"You're in your wedding dress and you are getting married in"Rebekah glanced over at the alarm clock in the room."an hour."Rebekah frowned at Elena."I told Nik what happened to Caroline and he will go get her, you know he will."
"And what makes you say that?"Came Klaus' voice from behind Rebekah and everyone turned to him.
"Because no matter how much you say love is a Vampire's greatest weakness, Nik,"Klaus pursed his lips into a tight and thin line as he looked at Rebekah."you and I both know that's not true because you care about Caroline and she's important to Elena."
Klaus glanced from Rebekah to Elena before sighing."Fine, I'll go save Caroline while you two get ready for the wedding, and while I'm on my way to get Caroline, I'll grab Jeremy and Emily."As soon as Klaus said Emily, Elena realised why Alaric was unaffected by the White Oak Stake killing him.
"You know..."Elena trailed off, gaining everyone's attention."The funny thing about Spells is that they're bound by Nature and Nature demands a Balance, which is why every Supernatural Creature has a weakness."Elena stated and the Mikaelson trio gave her an odd look."Nature had already allowed Esther to create seven Original Vampires and because she was tapping into Dark Magic, so don't you think Nature wouldn't allow her to create another Original Vampire without there being a Balance? I think I know why the White Oak Stake can't kill Alaric."
"Are you going to tell us?"Klaus questioned her impatiently.
"I suspect that when Esther turned Alaric into an Original, she made it so that he has a Human lifespan rather then the lifespan we have."
"But to do that, she'd need to Bind Alaric's lifespan to a Human..."Liah trailed off as her eyes widened in shock as she looked at Elena, with Klaus and Rebekah, who finally understood what Elena was hinting at.
"No."Klaus breathed out as Rebekah and Liah looked at Elena in glee.
"Yes."Rebekah and Liah breathed out in unison, looking at Elena as if Christmas finally came early for them and they had Elena to thank for that.
"No, I refuse to believe that!"Klaus exclaimed, glaring at them and they raised an eyebrow at him questionably."You three are biassed and you have wanted to kill Emily ever since she daggered Rebekah. I'm going to find Emily and get my own answers as well as take her with us when we leave this place."
"I can understand risking your life for Caroline, but to risk your own life for my brat of a Sister, when you know that I'm telling the truth?"Elena crossed her arms, scowling at Klaus, who glared back at her."But then again, this isn't about her, it's about the usage of her blood for your stupid Hybrids, isn't it!"Elena exclaimed while Liah glared furiously at Klaus and Rebekah gritted her teeth."My god, why do you even need Hybrids anyway!?"
"You know why."Klaus said calmly."I don't have to explain myself. I'll send Caroline your way and will see you all at the Wedding."With that said, Klaus was gone before the trio of girls could protest.
"Agh! One of these days..."Liah trailed off with a sigh and pursed her lips.
"Let's just get you two ready."Elena grumbled."Klaus will realise that he doesn't need his Hybrid Army sooner or later."She added.
Elena had just finished helping Rebekah fix up her hair when the door burst open again and the trio turned to see Caroline standing there, looking at them calmly, but the trio could see the trauma hidden behind her crystal blue eyes.
"Carebear..."Elena mumbled gently and walked over to the Baby blonde Vampire and hugged her."It's ok, you're safe now."Elena whispered as Rebekah and Liah joined the two after Caroline slowly hugged Elena back.
After a few minutes, everyone pulled away from the group hug and Caroline smiled widely as she looked at Elena, giving her a once before doing the same with Liah and Rebekah. Liah's dress was a simple long dusty pink off shoulder, floor length chiffon Bridesmaid Dress, and like Elena, she had a light blush, smokey eyeshadow, medium shade of bright red lipstick, and her hair was done up in a half-up, half-down with volume style.

"Let's get you ready."Rebekah said, smiling.
The trio quickly got to work on Caroline's makeup, which was more similar to Rebekah, due to their pale skin tones. However, Caroline's hair was turned into tousled waves rather then halo waves hair. As for her dress, it was a simple dusty rose off shoulder, floor length tulle sweetheart column Bridesmaid Dress.
"And we're done."Rebekah said before glancing at the clock."Just in time too."She added in relief.
"The Falls!"Elena exclaimed, eyes wide.
The car had come to a stop not too far from the Falls and where Klaus had set up a gazebo, which he, Elijah, and Kol were waiting under while Jeremy, who was kind of pissed off at Klaus for partly destroying his house, headed to the car.
Elena was sitting in the backseat with Caroline while Rebekah and Liah were in the front."It's a beautiful place, no?"Liah asked, smiling.
"You're not getting nervous, are you?"Caroline asked, eyeing Elena.
"No, I'm just excited."Elena assured her, giving the blonde a smile and a small laugh."But let's do this before I lose my nerve."With that said, the group of girls out of the car.
Liah was at the front of the group, being the eldest girl, practically skipping up to the gazebo while smiling at her older Brothers. Rebekah had decided to walk next to Caroline, looping her arm through Caroline's.
"You have no idea how much it means to Elena for you to be here."Rebekah mumbled to Caroline as they walked towards her Brothers.
"I'm just glad she wants me here after everything I did to her in the past."Caroline mumbled back gently.
"What you did to her when you were children, was just you following the popular girl because she made it clear that those that don't follow her get shunned, and Elena knew that."Rebekah said, smiling gently at Caroline, who sighed softly.
However, she managed to smile brightly as they came to a stop and stood next to Liah, who was on the left side while Elijah and Klaus were on the right side while Kol stood in the middle, acting as the Priest.
"Nervous?"Jeremy muttered, letting Elena loop her arm through his and guided her down to where everyone was waiting for them.
"No, I'm excited."Elena muttered."You ok with me being a Mikaelson?"
"Not really, but I am cool with it, seeing as I've become friends with Kol and Liah."Jeremy muttered."Plus, at least it's Elijah who you're marrying and not Klaus or Damon."He couldn't help but add."At least I know my Sister will be in good hands."Elena laughed softly as they came to a stop in front of everyone and Jeremy let her go to stand beside Klaus."Just so we're clear-I'll pay for damage I've done to the house."Klaus cut Jeremy off in a soft voice.
"You look beautiful."Elena's smile widened at Elijah's words.
"Dearly beloved..."Kol trailed off as he glanced at everyone."Now, we all know how Families work, and sometimes, it's dinner and sometimes it's Daggers."Kol gave a pointed look towards Klaus.
"Kol!"Liah hissed as Elena shook her head slightly in amusement as Elijah looked slightly embarrassed.
"Alright, alright."Kol said, chuckling before he turned to Elena."Elena, when I first met you, I thought you were like the rest of your Doppelganger Ancestors, so I would have never predicted that you would become my Sister."Kol stated, looking slightly bashful."You're not like your Doppelganger Ancestors. You're different. You're strong and beautiful and you deserve more then what everyone, in this town that we're in, has put you through."Elena's eyes glistened at Kol's heartfelt words."Trust me when I say, you deserve more then what even my Brother could offer you, although I believe he will make you a very woman and you will make him a very happy man."Kol said, looking between his Brother and soon to be In-Law-Sister while everyone else smiled."Nik, the rings?"Kol asked and Klaus held out said rings to Elijah and Elena, who took them."Elijah, your vows?"
"I vow to stay by your side, in happy moments and in sad moments, to protect and love you."Elijah looked at Elena with intense eyes that were filled with love and honestly as she stared back at him."To make you happy and to never leave your side when you need me the most. Always and Forever."Elena took a deep breath as she let Elijah put the ring on her wedding finger before speaking her own vow.
"I vow to stay by your side, in happy moments and in sad moments, to protect and love you."Elena looked up at Elijah, smiling."To follow you and to never leave you, no matter how hard things might get, no matter how hard you push me away when you think you know what's best for me, I won't let you. I will fight and I will continue to stand by you. Always and Forever."Elena said before she put the ring on his wedding finger and they entwined hands.
"Well, by the power vested in me, by a Franciscan Monk in the thirteenth century, and by the internet a few hours ago, just to be on the safe side."Kol added, causing everyone to silently shake with laughter."I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss your Bride, Elijah."
The Oldest Original let go of Elena's hands so that one hand could reach up and gently caress Elena's check while the other wrapped around her waist to bring her towards him and he leaned down slightly to kiss her as she wrapped her arms around his neck and met him halfway, kissing him back passionately as everyone clapped for them.
Elena, Liah, Caroline, and Rebekah were laughing as they chatted and danced to Sinéad O'Connor's version of 'I Wanna Be Loved By You.' and 'Secret Love' when Elijah came out of nowhere, wrapping his arms around Elena's waist. Laying his chin on her shoulder, turning slightly to kiss her on the cheek.
Elena turned slightly to smile at him before whirling around in his arms, placing her hands on his shoulders and they swayed to the song. Meanwhile, Liah had managed to convince Caroline into dancing with Klaus while Rebekah decided to take photos before Jeremy asked her dance, which she obviously agreed to, and Liah sat down with Kol, talking in hush voices about who knows what.
"What were you and Klaus talking about?"Elena asked, having seen Elijah and Klaus whispering out of the corner of her eye while she had been dancing with her new Sisters and Kol and Jeremy had been drinking and sharing stories.
"A surprise."Elijah said as he stopped swaying Elena to the music and she looked up at him curiously.
"A surprise?"
"Yes, it's a surprise gift."
"Another gift? What is it?"
"You'll have to come with me to find out."Elijah said, smiling widely at her."Or else it won't be a surprise gift anymore. And I'm sure you'll like it."
"Ok."Elena said suspiciously as Elijah, with an arm still wrapped around her waist, he guided her to the left side of the field, to the forest. As they got closer to the trees, Elena saw a familiar figure step out into the afternoon sun."Katherine!"Elena exclaimed, eyes wide at seeing her Ancestor. Elijah smiled as he watched Elena leave his arms and embrace the older Doppelganger."I'm immensely glad you came!"The younger Petrova chirped.
"Oh, my Zornitsa, I'm so glad I did."Katherine mumbled back happily as they let go of each other."Don't you look beautiful."The older brunette stated after giving Elena a once over."Give me a twirl."
Laughing softly, Elena did as she was asked and her dress slightly flared up."How long have you been here?"The Immortal asked curiously.
"Since the moment you stepped out of the car, although only Elijah knew I was here at the time."Elena glanced over at Elijah, beaming at him as he smiled gently at her.
"Thank you."Elena said softly.
"Anything for the love of my life."Elijah replied, smiling back at her."I'll leave you two alone to talk. I'll see if Aaliyah's up for a dance."He added before leaving the two Petrova's alone.
"Elena Mikaelson, huh? It has a nice ring to it."Katherine said, turning back to Elena."Would it be wrong of me to dance with you?"
"No."Elena said, smiling happily at Katherine."In fact, I'll be extremely happy to share a dance with you, Katherine."Elena said and laughed softly as Katherine put a hand on her waist while grabbing her other hand and Elena placed her free hand on Katherine's shoulder.
"I'm glad."Elena raised an eyebrow at Katherine, who smiled at her softly as they started dancing."Your laugh, it's more light and gentle, not forced."Katherine explained and Elena smiled back at her."Now tell me, what have I missed?"
"Well, Esther is finally dead, but she didn't return to the Other Side without one last hurrah." Now it was Katherine's turn to raise an eyebrow."She turned Alaric into Mikael 2.0, but he can't be killed by a stake or his heart being ripped out. Apparently Esther Linked Emily's and Alaric's life forces together so that Alaric has the lifespan of a Human and will die when Emily dies."Elena explained and Katherine looked gobsmacked."I believe Klaus is planning to drain Emily dry of blood so that he can create as many Hybrids as possible and the blood loss will most likely kill her, but if it doesn't, Liah, Rebekah, and I have multiple plans in progress to kill her ourselves."Elena said in a low voice in case Elijah might be listening."But there might also be a chance that she might come back as a Vampire..."Elena trailed off and looked at Katherine with a devious look in her eyes."So, I was thinking that I'd be very grateful if you could, oh, I don't know, stick around after we leave and try to destroy Emily's relationship with both Salvatore Brothers?"
"Oh that would be a piece of cake."Katherine said, smirking."You know what? If Emily did become a Vampire, I wouldn't have to do a thing because the Salvatore's would be the one to destroy their relationship, not me, but it would be fun to stick around and watch the show."
Elena grinned."You'll keep me updated, right?"
"Of course I would."Katherine exclaimed softly before she frowned."Although, how do you know that Emily will survive the transition into a Vampire? She has the Werewolf Curse."
"She'll survive because she hasn't Triggered the Curse. By not Triggering the Curse and becoming a Vampire, she'll stay a Vampire. It'll be like her Werewolf Side was never there to begin with, even if she kills Humans, she wouldn't be able to Trigger the Curse."Elena explained."Only if she did Trigger the Curse before becoming a Vampire, she would need Klaus' blood to become a Hybrid."Elena added and Katherine nodded in understanding.
"You know something, Zornitsa?"Elena looked at Katherine curiously."I would have loved to have you as a Sister."
"But Kat, I consider you more of Sister then Emily has ever been to me. I love you like a Sister, and I want you as part of my Family."Elena stated."You've been there for me when no one else was and I am forever grateful that you were and will be."Tears formed in Katherine's eyes."Plus, if Emily, her friends, or the Salvatore's ever hurt you, I will avenge you."
"Aw, thank you."Katherine said, smiling as the song ended and the two quickly hugged before Elijah appeared behind Elena."I think it's time you and Elijah left for your Honeymoon."Elena pulled away from Katherine and turned around to face Elijah, smiling as he held his hand out for her to take."Be gentle and kind to your Bride, Elijah, or I won't hesitate to come and beat your ass if she calls me and tells me that you've been anything less then Noble."Katherine threatened him as Elena took his hand and was pulled to his side.
"You have my word, Katerina."Elijah stated seriously."Goodbye Katerina."
"It's Katherine."Katherine grumbled, glaring as Elijah placed his hand on the small of Elena's back and they started to walk away.
"Bye Katherine."Elena said over her shoulder and waved to Katherine, smiling at her.
"Bye, Elena, have a great Honeymoon."Katherine said with a suggestive smirk, causing Elena to blush and Elijah shook his head.
After saying their goodbyes to their Siblings, Elijah and Elena were in the car, and were heading out of Mystic Falls, while everyone else headed back to the town."So is our Honeymoon destination gonna be another surprise?"Elena asked curiously.
"What do you think?"
"Can't you give me a hint?"
"Nope."
"Please?"
"Cruel Husband."Elena said, huffing and pouted while Elijah chuckled.
"Don't worry, you'll love the surprise, I promise."Elijah said, smiling at Elena and quickly kissed her on the cheek, making her smile.
