Sorry for the very long wait. It's been really rough past 6 months. I dedicate this chapter to a friend of mine who jumped off a bridge and died back in December. Also I dedicate to all those people who also committed suicide from depression and mental health.

Before Jane could think, she was back at the bridge where she had jumped to save Paul. To this day she has no idea why she didn't think of her love before jumping, not knowing if she was going to survive the cold temperature water at night. Just thinking about it all these years later makes her realize that it was stupid but she still had done it. She would've never done it if she knew that Maura had feelings for her after about 5 years of friendship.

That particular day had changed Jane's life for the better. She had realized that the day after she jumped, how much she had loved Maura. She had no idea at the time how much Maura had really loved her back. Well Jane knew that Maura loved her but not in the way she ever thought at first. When she thought about it the day after jumping off the bridge to save Paul, she knew that her friendship with Maura had more meaning then just friends.

Flashback:Episode 5x12 ending scene:

Jane and Maura pull up to the bridge that Paul was going to jump off of. "That's his car." Jane said looking at the car parked as she was driving up to it.

Jane and Maura both get out of the car and walk close to where Paul was. "Maura stay here, I don't want to spook him." Jane said but Maura interuptus Jane.

"Jane." was all Maura could get out before Jane had interupted her this time.

"No, I know this guy well enough. I know he's not bluffing." Jane walks away as Maura watches her

"Be careful." Maura said as she continued to watch Jane walk over to the edge of the bridge where Paul was.

"Paul." Jane said as she was by where Paul was now.

"Paul." Jane said again looking down where Paul was seeing that his breathing started to get heavy.

Jane began to speak again. "Listen to me okay." Paul looked up at Jane this time

"You're wasting your time." Paul said looking back down at the water below him

"No.. Just listen alright. I know you were set up, we can prove it." Jane said as she watched Paul starting to rock back and forth.

"So." Paul said still swaying alittle

"Okay. Wait, wait, wait. Okay I know we said thatI there was no easy way to end things. You can't do this, you can't quit like this." Jane said still looking down where Paul was.

"I ruined my marriage." Paul breaths heavy before speaking again " Eddie is gone. My life is over."

"No, it's not over." Jane breathes heavily "You know what I'm coming down there." Jane goes down on the bridge platform.

"Jane don't." Maura said shaking her head

"I'll jsut stay over here we can talk from here okay." Jane is down on the platform close to Paul but not too close.

"I'm not moving any closer alright. I know that you think your life is over. I know that I can't change that but please think about Danielle." Jane said as she saw that Paul was starting to get agitated.

Maura started to walk closer as Jane and Paul talk.

"Danny." Paul took a deep breath

"I know that you didn't kill her. Okay. I...I think you loved her more than anything." Jane looked down and started to walk towards Paul showly not to spook him. "And I think that's why you can't let whomever did this to her get away okay. You said it yourself Paul, her killer is still out there." Jane looks over at Paul before looking down and moving closer. "Look okay, you know that I can't bring Danny back. I can't give you anymore nights of flipping through catalogs, and Indian food but I can bring her killer to justice. I can do that, okay does she deserve that?" Jane asked waiting for Paul's reaction

Jane reaches out her hand for Paul to reach, "Come on." Jane said with her hand out to take Paul's to, save him. Before she could grab his hand he slipped and fell into the water. Jane jumps off after Paul to save him, and Maura watches.

Maura runs to the rail of the bridge "Jane! Jane! Jane!" She yelled repreatedly

Jane was looking at the bridge remembering that night as her phone rang seeing it was Maura calling her, brought a smile to her face. Jane picked up the phone and smiled "Hey baby what's up?" Jane asked tapping her fingers on the steering wheel of her Ford Queen Victoria.

"Just waiting for you to get home, I thought you would've been home by now." Maura said putting her hand on her pregnant stomach

Jane smiled "Well, I'm on my way home. I had to stop somewhere real fast. I'll be home soon, do you need anything while I'm out?" Jane asked her wife over the phone

"No I don't detective, just come home." Maura said looking over at her tortoise Bass making sure he wasn't bumping into anything in the kitchen.

"I'll see you in a bit Doctor." Jane said sarcastically over the phone

"Love you Jane." Maura said as she heard the back door opening figuring it was just Angela and she was right, as she looked over to the door.

"Love you too Maur. Bye." Jane hangs up heading home after a 12 hour shift.

"Hi honey, I just wanted to check in to see how you were doing. Where's Jane?" Angela asked walking over to hug her daughter in law.

Maura smiled. "I'm doing fine, and Jane's on her way home. She worked a 12 hour shift, she got the suspect. The victims were a married couple, and the ex husband stabbed them both to death. Then after she had to do paper work." Maura said giving some information about the case but not all the information.

"You know I worry about her all the time when she's out on the streets. Just letting you know I'm inviting Kiki over Sunday. Ever since Vince died, it's been weird but different. Vince was a part of this family like he was one of our own and so is Kiki, we just haven't seen her in awhile." Angela said just ask she heard Jane pulling up in the drive way

"I agree Angela we haven't seen Kiki in awhile. I think it would be good for Kiki to come over so that she's not alone." Maura said as she heard Jane's key in the door.

Jane walked in and took her shoes off and went to kiss her wife hello. After, she went over to say hello to her mother.

"Jane are you going to eat something?" Angela asked her daughter

"Yes, only something small because I'm gonna get a shower and then go to bed because I'm exhausted because of the case. At least I have off tomorrow, so I could spend the day with my wife." Jane said looking at Maura and smiles at her.

Jane heats up a dish of pasta that Angela made for them. "Baby did you eat?" Jane looked over at Maura's direction

"Yes I ate a few hours ago but thanks." Maura said getting up to go sit next to her wife while she ate.

An hour later they lay in the bed cuddled up to each other. Maura was fast asleep since she spent the day worrying about Jane and then had lunch with her sister in law Nina.

Morning after Jane jumped off the bridge:

After Jane got recused from the water, Maura took her back to her house so that she could take a hot shower. Maura knew it was time to tell her how she felt about Jane. It was definitely over due to tell her but she was afraid to. Now she felt confident to tell her because she almost lost her a second time since they have been friends.

After Jane got out of the shower and freshly clothed, she found Maura in the kitchen with 2 cups of coffee. "Jane I need to talk to you." Maura said holding her hand out to hold Jane's hand and Jane accepted.

"What about?" Jane said in between a sip of coffee not knowing that Maura was going to confess her feelings for the detective.

Maura blushed alittle bit. "Um, wow where do I even start with this... I don't want to ruin our friendship because I never had a friend before you and you know that. Anyway I've should've told you awhile ago but I was afraid that you didn't feel the same way. Jane I have feelings for you, more then friends. It's okay if you don't I get it really but I had to tell you. I knew I had to after what happened last night." Maura said looking down at her coffee not knowing that Jane actually felt the same way she did.

Jane smiled at her and took her one hand to lift Maura's face so that she could see her. "Maura I've felt the same way for a long time. I don't even know when it started but I definitely have feelings for you. I'm sorry I scared you last night, not only last night but also in the past. I just never thought that a rich woman like you would ever consider dating a blue collar detective like me. I'm in love with you Maura and I always was." Jane said looking at her.

Maura smiled and listened to Jane and what she had to say. "I always loved you too Jane, and I'm not sure when it started but I always had loved you." Jane looked at Maura wanted to ask her the question but nervous to either way.

"Maura will you be my girlfriend?" Jane knew it was a big question to ask but she wanted to anyway.

Maura didn't want to cry she didn't know that she was going to ask her "God yes Jane." Maura gave Jane's hand a squeeze.

(End of flashback)

Maura knew that Jane wasn't asleep, looking at her. "Honey what's wrong?" Maura asked as Jane was wide awake.

"Nothing I was just thinking of the morning I asked you to be my girlfriend." Jane smiles and Maura smiled back

"Hmm. That was a good day other then I almost lost the love of my life the night before." Maura said cuddling closer to Jane

"Yeah it was and I'm glad that you said yes I was so nervous that you didn't feel the same way." Jane said looking into her wife's eyes.

"I've always felt that way towards you. Even the day when I thought you were a hooker while you were undercover when we first met." Maura puts her arm around Jane

"You took my breath away when I first saw you and I thought that I would never see you again. I'm the luckiest woman to be married to you. I love you Maura." Jane said leaning in to kiss her wife

Maura smiled after the kiss "I love you too Jane. Good night love." Maura started to doze off as Jane looked at the clock which read 12:20am

"Good night Maur, sweet dreams." Jane whispered in Maura's ear.

The next day, Angela came over to prepare dinner for Sunday dinner as she always does. Jane started watching the live Chicago Bears vs New England Patriots game. Maura sitting next to Jane reading her medical journals. She wanted to finsih reading the journal before seeing if her mother in law needed any help in the kitchen.

It was about half time with the score tied at 21. During that time, the doorbell rung as Frankie, and Nina came in. A few minutes later the youngest Rizzoli Tommy came and then all they were waiting for was Kiki.

Jane looked at her brothers "Did you guys watch the first half of the game on your own tv's?" Jane asked looking at Frankie and Tommy.

"Yes Jane, that's what we decided to do this week. We'll be on time next week." Frankie said looking at his brother

"Yeah and besides, it was Frankie's idea because you had a 12 hour shift and needed sleep. The last thing you needed was your loud brother's in your house before noon." Tommy said politely looking at his older sister.

"Thanks you guys." Jane said as Maura handed Jane something to put on the table for dinner. Frankie and Tommy nodded as to say you're welcome.

After dinner was over, things went back to normal. Maura, Nina, and Kiki help Angela clean up, as Jane and her brothers watched the game.

About two hours later of Jane and her brother's yelling at the tv, the game was finally over. Nina, Kiki, and Angela were happy the game was over. Maura was used of the screaming and choas the siblings show when the game was on.

The Bears won by 28-24, the Patriots just couldn't get a touchdown but got a feild goal at the final minute. It was a good game for any football fan. The Rizzoli siblings would be mad at the outcome but it was only a game.
