Unfortunately, recently, Jinx and Elliot, had been getting themselves into slight trouble. For example.
Kid Flash had literally just left to get the menu for two minutes and the uneasy tension between Elliot Knight and Jinx was practically tangible. The three were dining enjoyably at a generic pizza restaurant with bright, colourful design and had chosen a comfy booth tucked away in the darker corner, as by Elliot's pleading request. When the three roommates were all together, they smiled cheerfully, laughed brightly and chatted blissfully, without any bothersome troubles whatsoever. But whenever he left, the two former villains would both be awkward, to then going to Elliot turning away defiantly as she pestered determinedly for any possible smile, and literally going to Jinx glaring hostilely at the back of his head. Other times, Elliot would simply elude her uneasily, never smiling or laughing no matter how hard she attempted desperately and nagged him persistently. Another occasion, Jinx would glare hostilely the whole time after he failed to find her witty sarcasm amusing, which subsequently meant that Elliot Knight merely pretended she didn't even exist. So yeah. There was definitely an uncomfortable tension between them. Wally West was fully aware that Elliot had been immensely wounded by, admittedly, her slightly unfair betrayal. He knew that they required great time and patience for their past friendship to be renewed and completely healed, but they were just being ridiculous now. Elliot had uncooperatively turned with his back to Jinx as she huffed frustratedly at the purposefully antagonising boy. Flash tossed the pleasant menu on the cleaned table, brusquely alerting them of his own presence. Elliot awkwardly twisted around on his defiant position and Jinx immediately stopped her harsh sulking. Wally sighed exasperatedly and sat in between both of them, glowering irritatedly.
"Oh my life. Can you try getting along without me for more than five minutes at least!,"Kid Flash snapped annoyedly, crossing his arms irritatedly.
"I am! I keep trying to make him smile but all he does is be all moody and awkward and turn away from me!,"Jinx burst out with outraged frustration.
Elliot pouted hostilely and scowled unkindly at her before bowing his head defiantly again. Wally groaned exasperatedly and massaged his temples thoughtfully, musing on how to impede their foolish bickerings. After a while, he returned back to piquing reality with a slightly roguish idea, only to annoyedly see that Jinx was fuming bitterly to a reticent Elliot acting boredly as he stared evasively at the uninteresting table. Wally West took a steadying breath.
"Alright. I can't deal with this anymore. So, you two are going to have a little fun,"Kid Flash declared firmly, a small, almost invisible, teasing to his fed up tone.
"Fun?,"Jinx repeated suspiciously.
"Yep. You two are going to bond. No excuses. I'm fed up of you two being stupid so I'm taking matters into my own hands,"Wally explained stubbornly.
Finally, Elliot spoke up, spinning around fervently and hissed mortifiedly,"No! No! You can't force me, Wally! I REFUSE."
"I can force you, Ellie. You know that I have literally so many ways of forcing you,"Flash snickered triumphantly.
Elliot scowled defeatedly, as he too realised that much too clearly and didn't audibly dissent, although with difficult restraint. Jinx smirked mockingly, though it soon transformed into an elusive whistle at the look the infuriated speedster shot her. Kid Flash cleared his throat authoritatively, his two pale friends listening solely on what he actually defined as 'fun'. Wally West placed one hand on each of their shoulders and smirked amusedly as they both awaited agogly.
"Ready for a sleepover?,"he sniggered teasingly.
"No!,"Elliot cried mortifiedly.
Wally turned to Elliot and smiled reassuringly as he said consolingly,"Look. I want you to be happier and I think if you two settle this stupid...whatever it is...then you will be."
"This won't make me happy,"he hissed defiantly.
"Pfft. It will and I'll make you,"Flash taunted amusedly.
"Hah. Wally. You think that if we have a sleepover itwill stop? He'll just be uncooperative and moody like always! You know that he only smiles and laughs with you, right? He's much too stubborn and lonesome to ever even try and literally only likes you, he's that sad. For example, I went to hug him, and he hissed like a feral cat but when you do it, he purrs like a soppy kitten! Can't you see I'm trying to get along? Can't you see I'm trying to break the ice between us? So talk to the stupid cat boy and get him to at least try! I've been trying to get to him ever since he came! I've been patient, I get I left him and he's hurt, but it's just getting ridiculous now!,"Jinx spat frustratedly, bitterly watching as Elliot hissed darkly and shuffled protectively closer to Kid Flash.
"Okay, okay, this is what I mean. Jinx, I get you're annoyed but you have to be more patient! And El, stop being so uncooperative,"Flash tried hopefully.
Jinx snorted mirthlessly and Elliot hissed darkly, which wasn't particularly the desired result. In a truly dire attempt, Wally West exasperatedly yanked Elliot by the back of his collar of his plain, black t-shirt and tugged Jinx by her arm so that both roommates were tensely close. Elliot Knight's back was pressed against her side and both struggled urgently to move apart, but Wally was having none of it. The irked speedster was determined to settle this vacuous argument, whether they liked it or not. Elliot squirmed more energetically so Flash tightened his grip on his dull top and was suddenly struck by a puckish idea. With a mischievous smirk, strongly wrenched him so that he was on Jinx's lap, swiftly switching his own hands' positions to hold Elliot down efficiently. The two bickering roommates stiffened. Instantly, she turned to Kid Flash and slapped him in a futile attempt for him to move them away from the other.
"Wally! Get Elliot off of my lap right this instant!,"she growled, glaring down harshly at the fidgeting figure of Elliot Knight pinned down securely.
Elliot hissed irritatedly,"I hate you! You can't do this! This is abduction- let me off!"
"Teleport, Elliot!,"Jinx suggested unkindly.
"No! I'll be shirtless! Wally has my shirt! If i teleport I'll...be shirtless- everyone looking, you know! Not weird at all!,"Elliot retorted exasperatedly.
"Look. If you don't agree to bond and settle this, then I'm not moving either of you. And I'll do it when we go back too. So you have to decide,"Wally bargained
Jinx growled at the pale boy pressed forcibly on her lap and only to be greeted with his dark, piqued scowl in return. She sucked in a deep, stabling breath and with some immense difficulty, concluded it was most unfortunately the only possible way. Jinx checked down at Elliot, who was hissing defeatedly, closing his amber eyes as though to erase his irritating position on her lap. In fact, she had literally only now just noticed that he had a pleasantly cool temperature to his pale skin, which was actually fairly enjoyable- though of course she'd never admit to that. She had seen Flash's dazed beam after Elliot had laughed or smiled and she began wondering hopefully if she could ever hear and see that. Maybe she would. Perhaps, after all, she might relish accompanying him for the long night ahead. She swiftly turned away when she realised she had been staring thoughtfully at him, suddenly immensely glad he had his amber eyes were shut annoyedly. Wally West seemed to have noticed and deciphered her embarrassing thoughts as he smirked teasingly at her, forcing her to look away again indignantly.
"Fine. Fine. We'll do it! Just get him off me, please,"she snapped as spitefully as she could manage.
"And next time think of a more dignified way!,"Elliot Knight hissed embarrassedly as Wally West finally snatched back his strong hands, allowing Elliot to bolt on to the other side of the comfy booth.
Jinx raised her eyebrow exasperatedly as he went to his average technique of basically focusing his secure attention on Kid Flash instead.
Wally smirked amusedly.
Later on, in the late evening, Elliot Knight and Jinx were starting to vehemently resent Kid Flash. Wally West had literally meant bonding time. In fact, the two were locked securely in Jinx's gothic bedroom, Elliot in his embarrassing Spiderman pyjamas and Jinx in her plain, black long-sleeved and long-bottomed pyjamas. Jinx's dark bedroom had an immaculately tidied desk with a twisty makeup mirror and drawers of her detailed sketches and expensive makeup. The soft, lavender carpet matched well with the dark blue wallpaper and the comfortable, single bed lay to the left with a dark, wooden bedside table. A small book shelf was lined with differing books and opposite a grand wardrobe and set of spacious drawers for her countless clothes.
Right now, Jinx was sitting on her comfy bed, watching a silently mediating Elliot Knight. She was fully aware that he only used this dull method if he desired greatly to escape an unwanted situation. As you can imagine, this frustrated Jinx immensely. She cleared her throat dramatically in an obvious hint, grunting exasperatedly as he merely ignored her.
"Maybe Wally has a point. Maybe we're being stupid,"she sighed defeatedly, waiting hopefully for a response.
When he remained mute, she elaborated dolefully,"Look. You can vent to me. Tell me what I made you feel or anything, okay? I saw how you froze in the ice. That was just cruel. I also saw how we beat you up quite badly too. And...I remember...looking in front of you in the ice...and seeing...you just...cry. I felt so bad. So please. Just let go of what's weighing you down, okay? Get it off your chest. I want to be friends again."
Elliot nodded as he took a steadying breath and eventually cried despairingly,"How could you do that? We never wanted to go to the Brain but you made us! And then as soon as we did what you wanted, you decided to stick us in ice! Betray us! You chose them instead of the people you've known all your life! So we goof around a little! Doesn't give you the right to just- just- do what you did! We all loved you, but it wasn't enough, was it? You two only dated for a bit! Imagine if you'd stayed as our leader! Imagine that we never joined the Brain! We'd be happy! And we all cried over you and we know that you aren't ever coming back! You know how that feels? I just-just don't want to get close again if I know you can just leave me so-so easily! Again!"
Jinx sighed guiltily as she ruefully caught sight of the glistening tears prickling in the former villain's amber eyes as he turned away to conceal his supposedly weak melancholy. She winced painedly- all he had said had been completely true. Jinx could deny nothing. Gracefully, she slipped from her soft bed and besides him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder and earned a jolt of brusque surprise from the other. He looked at her uncomfortably, seemingly conflicted.
"I'm sorry, Elliot. I'm so, so sorry. I was just caught up with maybe...maybe I wouldn't just be a dirty scumbag to the Titans. To anyone. Wally gave me that chance and I took it and never once let my mind think that...maybe by leaving...I was a villain. And...the Hive aren't really villains. We aren't serious, hurting people sorta villains. We just like goofing around the way we want to and you were all so happy...but I took that away. And that makes me the real hypocrite, traitor….and villain,"Jinx sighed dejectedly, beginning to sob herself now.
The two roommates, both weeping dolorously, gave each other a warmer look than they had in much too long and the poor former villains soon found themselves embracing the other tightly. Jinx leaned in, feeling his pleasant coolness desperately. Oh, how she had missed the Hive Five. It was so glorious to see even the most cantankerous member and just stay in his also as disconsolate arms, finally mustering some comfort in this entire, dreadful situation. A start of a content smile mingled on her lips as she felt a faint purring gently vibrate his torso, unsure whether it was optional or natural. Either way, it pleased her. With one last sniff, Elliot Knight pulled back tentatively, still allowing her to massage the palm of his pale hand, as though fearful their great bonding will disperse just as swiftly as it had occurred.
"Wow. I have to admit I wasn't expecting that,"Jinx breathed amazedly.
Elliot shrugged amusedly and replied comfortably,"Maybe you were right. Maybe we were being stupid."
"Yeah. Maybe. Hey, fancy a game of truth or dare?,"she offered hopefully.
Elliot Knight merely nodded. Why not?
And with that, the once bickering pair began bonding again.
It was now six in the morning as Wally West, still dressed in his expensive, designer pyjamas anticipatedly approached Jinx's plain bedroom door. He was admittedly apprehensive on what he would witness as he worriedly opened the door. Would he see a warzone? A desolate silence, with each as far as they could be from the other? Perhaps just a little closer than before? Kid Flash could merely yearn fervently that his little, devious plan had been a joyful success and they could all get along perfectly again. WIth a deep breath, Flash fearfully unlocked the secured door and carefully opened the uninteresting door so as to not disturb them if they were soundly asleep. After all, Jinx was a light sleeper. He stealthily crept inside, bracing himself for the worst, only to have to forcibly smother his delighted, yet also stunned gasp. Because Jinx was sprawled comfortably on her soft bed, her thick duvet spilling over the side purposefully. She was clutching Elliot Knight's pale hand like it was her precious lifeline and seemingly had shared the comfy blanket for the both of them, Elliot slumbering deeply underneath the thick coverage of half of Jinx's vast duvet on the soft carpet. Wally grinned triumphantly at the elated smile on Jinx's face and Elliot's content sleep purrs. Kid Flash was (of course) victorious.
Yeah, they've bonded.
