Sorry for the late chapter everyone. The reason that this chapter was late was because I wrote this chapter, then left the site without saving. The next day I came back and saw that it was all gone. Just ask my brother, who I share an apartment with. He would tell you that it was a quiet afternoon when suddenly, for in front of my PC, I screamed, "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!". So here I am. Enjoy.
Chapter 21: Mind Games
Rex woke up and looked at his surroundings. This couldn't be real. There was pure nothingness around Rex. Just blackness.
Suddenly, Rex heard a voice behind him. "Why did you do it?"
Rex turned around and gasped. Standing there was...himself? Yes, standing before Rex was a clone of himself. Yes, this "Other Rex" was a clone, but he wore strange clothes.
The Other Rex was wearing a weird blue costume. It was open at the front, and underneath was a swimwear of sorts. Also, Rex noticed that the Other Rex's costume had a sphere helmet at the back.
The Other Rex sighed. "I said, why did you do it?"
"W-what?" Rex asked.
"You just jumped in front a knife that Jin threw to save Nia. Why did you?" the Other Rex said.
"That should be obvious, shouldn't it? I love her." Rex said.
The Other Rex snorted. "Oh, please. You chose Nia? Anyone right in their mind would have chosen Pyra long ago, Rex."
Rex glared at him. "You can't just say that! I love Nia, and there's nothing that you can do about it!"
The Other Rex shrugged. "Fine. Suit Yourself. I have better things to do. But if you die, it's your own fault."
The Other Rex then turned and walked away, flipping Rex The Bird as he went. Then everything faded away for Rex.
