Trace was standing in the training room with his class, donning his hero costume. His costume was easy. A Fox mask, a black t-shirt, a white hoodie, some greyish blue sweatpants, and his grey shoes. Simple but easy to fight in.

Aizawa had a watch in his hands. They would be there in another minute. Aizawa gathered the attention of his students before speaking. "Alright everyone, we are going to have a couple of third years in her today to talk to you guys today". As he finished his sentence, the doors to the training room opened, revealing 3 students. "These students are known as the big 3, they are here to give you guys some advice".

The blonde kid stepped forward. "My name is Mirio, nice to meet you".

The blue haired kid was next. "My name is Tamaki, nice to meet you, I guess".

Hado stepped forward next, "My name is Hado, it's nice to meet you all". She looked at Trace who was hanging his head low. She couldn't tell if he was in pain or embarrassed.

MIrio stepped onto the battlefield. "If it's okay with you all, I wish to spar against you to see how far your training has brought you".

The class 1-A students were hesitant as they felt they had an unfair advantage. But Trace got them under control quickly.

"Don't underestimate Mirio guys, he probably has experience over us, and I'd be willing to bet he has strength on us".

Mirio smiled, "Nice to see you're thinking about my potential prowess instead of making assumptions".

Trace charged at Mirio, swinging at his head, but he went clean through Mirio and fell to the floor. He turned quickly. "So his quirk is permeation".

Mirio turned to face Trace. "So you went for the head huh?".

A laser went through Mirio's head, the others had attempted to attack while his back was turned. Trace jumped out of the way, avoiding the attacks barely.

Mirio turned to the students and began taking them down, one by one. After just 20 seconds, everyone was down except for Mina and Trace. MIrio charged at Mina, planning to make it one on one. He swung hard for Mina, but was surprised when Trace pushed her out of the way. He connected with Trace instead, who went flying back 10 feet. He shakily rose to his feet. Mirio turned and charged once more at Mina, but Trace pushed her out of the way once more, taking the brunt of his attack again. No matter where Mirio struck, Trace would be there to take it so another wouldn't have to.

After a few minutes, Trace was clutching his arm. It was broken easily but he would keep pushing. Everyone watched in awe as he took blow after blow for Mina, he wouldn't let Mirio near her. He was like a Father watching over his pack. Despite the pain he was clearly in, he stared at Mirio with pure determination.

Mirio changed gears, attempting to attack Trace instead. He had a plan. "How about my special move, EYEBALL CRUSHER".

Trace wasn't afraid though, he stepped to his right, summoning Djinn to control his left, "Djinn, I know this is the last time we work together, but let's make it a good send out, let's go out with a bang, not a whimper".

Trace could feel Djinn's grin, "alright, let's go".

Djinn swung for Mirio's stomach but only hit air as he went through Mirio.

Mirio turned and kicked Trace in the back, sliding him backwards 3 feet.

Trace turned back to Mirio. He would fight to the end. He charged at Mirio with lightning speed.

Mirio was caught off guard by his speed. He didn't even have time to activate his quirk before Trace socked him in the face with full power, knocking him backwards 10 feet. But mirio still stood. They charged at each other and connected punches, much to everyone else's surprise. They began punching with unprecedented speed, moving so fast that they were dots every so often. After a few seconds, a barrier surrounded an area big enough to fit 20 buses. Trace and Mirio kept swinging with everything they could. Neither side would give an inch.

Trace was determined to protect his friends, Mirio wouldn't lose though. He began searching for anything he could use. He saw Mina still standing in the barrier wide-eyed. Mirio grinned before charging Mina with blistering speed. "Don't just stand there Mina". Mirio reared back before swinging at Mina. but Trace pushed her out of the way. Taking an attack that was easily 10 times stronger than Mirio's attacks in their collisions. Trace went flying into the wall, falling unconscious immediately, the darkness returned to his body. He lay there, yet there wasn't a single bruise or cut on his body.

Mirio stood there, huffing and puffing. He used up the last of his energy to defeat Trace. He fell to his knees, causing Hado and Tamaki to run to his side to help him up. Mirio accepted their help graciously. As he got to his feet, he turned to Mina, and smiled before turning to the class, with help of course. "Your class is definitely interesting, but what you guys need is experience, for you see, My experience allowed me to plan my moves based on your moves, experience is a big part of being a hero, you need to be able to stay calm and plan out your moves, that is all".

The big three began walking out, heading to go see Recovery Girl.

Mina hoisted Trace onto her shoulders and began walking to Recovery Girl.

(about 10 minutes later)

Trace and Mirio lay in the beds of Recovery Girl's office. She watches over them carefully, since Mirio used up his energy, and Trace was literally covered head to toe in darkness. His skin had become pure black. He was shaking violently, coughing up black gunk into a bucket she provided. He was suffering, but wasn't in any danger of death.

Hado, Mina, and Tamaki were sitting in chairs, waiting for them to awake. Hado sat there wrapped in thought. "Recovery Girl couldn't heal his condition, he wasn't lying to get me off of him, he really can't summon Djinn again without risk".

Trace's eyes shot open as he sat up, all darkness was gone from his body. He clutched his chest, breathing in and out rapidly. Tears were falling from his face, but he wasn't crying. He did a quick look around the room. There was the big three, and Mina, plus Recovery Girl. Mirio was asleep on the second bed. His eyes widened, had he done this?. He was gonna attempt to get up when a cane appeared in front of his head.

"Lay down Trace, you've expended too much energy as it is", Recovery Girl spoke with authority.

Trace nodded before laying back down. But he dared not go back to sleep. He was afraid of what was in his dreams. He felt dread upon him. Something bad would happen soon wouldn't it. He grasped his head before groaning. "What did I do this time", Trace sounded pained.

Before anyone could speak, Hado stood up. "You hurt yourself protecting your girlfriend".

Everyone stared at her wide-eyed. Hado wasn't sure if that was the right way to put it, but it was true. "He defended Mina with his life, almost like a father wolf to his pack".

Mina smiled, he was a caring father watching over his pack in that moment.

"It's true, he was determined to protect her, even if it cost him expending his energy", Mirio sat up cheerfully, surprising everyone.

Recover Girl sighed. "How are you feeling Mirio".

Mirio gave a wide grin, "I was fine, just a tad tuckered, how is Trace doing though". Mirio turned to face Trace who seemed stressed out.

"I can't summon Djinn anymore, unless I want to risk my life every time I do so", Trace sounded irritated.

Mirio frowned. "Who is Djinn".

Trace took in a deep breath. "Apologies Mirio, but with recent events, I'm not in the best of moods, so I'm only gonna tell you the story once, no repeats".

Mirio nodded.

For the second time in 2 days, Trace explained Djinn, and everything that has occurred between him and Djinn.

After explaining, Trace shut his eyes, waiting for judgement to be passed.

But judgement was never passed. Mirio sat there processing the info, Hado was thinking, Recovery Girl and Mina were speechless. But Tamaki spoke up quickly. "You are not to blame for what has happened, you didn't know about the drawback so you didn't understand what was happening until Djinn told you, so to me, no one is at fault here, besides the people who kicked you down, that's a low blow", Tamaki had an angry expression but his voice was calm.

Trace sat there surprised. He didn't know what to say.

"You shouldn't have had to go through all that. From what i've seen and heard, you care so much about others, even if they've wronged you, how could anyone look down on someone like that?".

"It's crazy some of the stuff you went through, but that just means you're even stronger than I thought", Mirio was rubbing the back of his head with a smile on his face.

Trace sat back. "That strength doesn't help when I self destruct so much", He was clearly upset, "How do I protect others when I keep ending up in a bed to be healed".

Everyone in the room, stared at him in shock.

"During the test to get our licenses I had to be carried to safety because I overexerted myself with Djinn". Trace was super angry. "I feel like a liability, if i'm gonna protect others, then shouldn't I be able to actually hold my own in more than one battle in a row?!". Trace put his hands to his face. He couldn't calm down. He was in a pretty bad mindset. "How am I supposed to protect anyone, let alone My girlfriend, if I break after one fight", Trace began to quietly sob, but his voice held steady, "I'm a liability".

The room became quiet. No one really knew what to do. Trace was beating himself up pretty badly.

Without much thought, Mina got up, walked over to Trace. And wrapped him in a hug, catching him off guard.

She held him closely to her, trying to convey as much as she could, that she was there for him. He began to sob into her shoulder, so much had happened in such a short amount of time, and it had finally taken its toll on him. All the pain, all the sorrow, all the stress. He just needed to get some of it out. MIna began rubbing his ears, trying her best to calm him, but he didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Mina only had one idea left.

She closed her eyes and began singing.

"Baby mine, don't you cry, Baby Mine, dry your eyes", Trace finally began to calm down, sobbing lessening with each passing second.

"Rest your head close to my heart, never to part, baby of mine", Trace had stopped crying. Instead he was listening closely to MIna's voice.

"Little one, when you play, don't you mind what they say, let those eyes sparkle and shine, never a tear, baby of mine", Trace had begun to smile, a slight blush covering his face.

"If they knew sweet little you, they'd end up loving you too, all those same people who scold you", Mina held him as closely as she could, trying to comfort him.

"What they'd give just for the right to hold you", Trace snuggled into her shoulder as much as he physically could.

"From your head, down to your toes, you're not much, goodness knows, but you're so precious to me, sweet as can be baby of mine", fatigue started to catch up to Trace. He smiled warmly.

"If they knew, sweet little you, they'd end up loving you too, all those same people who scold you, what they'd give just for the right to hold you", Mina was rubbing his ears, inciting purring from Trace.

"From your head, down to your toes, you're not much, goodness knows, but you're so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine", Trace closed his eyes, his arms still wrapped around Mina.

"But you're so precious to me, sweet as can be, baby of mine", Trace was listening closely, enjoying her soothing voice.

Mina continued to rub his ears, long after the song ended. She would make sure he knew she was there for him. After a few minutes, Mina turned to the other people in the room.

"What happened to him", Tamaki was quiet so as not to wake Trace.

Mina looked to Trace before saying, "He didn't have a normal life, he was in a bad situation". Mina proceeded to talk about Trace's life, his childhood, his bullied life, and his insecurities because of events in his life

After the explanation, Mirio put a hand to his mouth, Hado was sitting there wide-eyed, and Tamaki was hiding his face.

"So before UA, he was shunned by everyone?", Mirio was worried about Trace. He had seemed to think he had to suffer so others wouldn't.

Mina nodded her head. "Everyone kicked him down, telling him he will never be anything more than worthless".

Everyone was stunned that anyone could say that to Trace. From what the big 3 have seen, he only cares about his friends being happy. But in his life, he was kicked down, he fell in love with a girl who only saw him as a toy to break, and even the police turned their back on him. He was thrown to the dirt and walked on daily. They were amazed he didn't decide to become a villain with all that had happened to him.

"We need to watch over this kid, he seems like he's experiencing some serious self doubt", Tamaki spoke with determination.

The others nodded, putting on serious faces. Recovery Girl began digging through her drawers, until she found some medicine to better Trace's condition.

Trace had recovered from his episode. He looked up at Mina, eyes still a tad bit red and puffy. She had so much determination on her face. He wanted to get better. He had been kind of sporadic over the last few days. He definitely didn't feel like himself. Maybe stress was getting to him. It has been stored up since Djinn first appeared. Would it be better if he forgot about Djinn? Trace turned to Recovery Girl, who had given him a pill bottle.

"Young man, I want you to start taking a single pill every night before bed, that way we can better your condition", Recovery Girl spoke with authority but also concern.

Trace nodded before taking the bottle. How was he supposed to explain that he was on an antidepressant to the others? Trace stared at the bottle, he couldn't tell anyone yet. Je turned to the other occupants of the room. "I know this is kind of silly, but can we keep this a secret for now, I don't know how to explain to the others that I'm on an antidepressant".

The others nodded, except for Mirio who put a thumbs up.

Recovery Girl smiled. "Alright, you kids should be good to go, tomorrow, you pick an agency to work at".

Mirio smiled widely, "If that's the case, maybe you could work at nighteye's agency with me, that way you have someone familiar around". Mirio held a hand out to Trace who took it quickly.

"Thank you Mirio", Trace had a smile on his face now.
