Misfit Chapter 26: "The A-May-Zing Car Chase!"

WOOOH! I just wrote a chapter for Hurt By Words, and Enough! And now I'm writing one for Misfit! Yay! :3

"What do you mean we're not going anywhere? I think we got off on the wrong foot here…you know…with a little buzz and maybe some FaceTime, I can make you bigger than some dumb CEO!" June laughed nervously, backing up against the wall.

"Graves, take it from here."

A falcon entered the room. He cracked his knuckles.

"Run!" April screamed, bolting for the door. She was immediately stopped by Graves, who squeezed her in his hands. She yelped and kicked around.

Falcon Graves smiled, "You're mine now."

April smirked, "Oh, but you've forgotten one thing."

Graves looked around, "And what's that?"

"I'm a Junior Woodchuck!" She took off the Junior Woodchuck sash hanging over her shoulder and slapped the bird of prey, allowing her leeway to jump out of his grasp.

Flacon Graves hissed in annoyance, "Beaks, at least help me."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm only in this whole thing for the cash anyways, sooooooo…."

"UGH!" Falcon Graves took his phone.

"Hey! I don't have my backup phones!"

"Wait, they're getting away!" Graves pushed a buttons on the wall.

"Security mode activated." A robotic voice said, and immediately iron bars appeared in front of the doors.

"Oh come on!" May crossed her arms.

The falcon glared at her. He grabbed a rope from Beaks' desk and tied her up, "Now for the other squirts."

June tried to escape, but it was no use. Soon Huey and the girl triplets were tied up and tossed in a dark room.

"We are going to die down here." June deadpanned.

"Way for keeping it positive." May rolled her eyes.

"Don't you roll your eyes at me; that's my thing!" June hissed at her.

Huey interrupted them, "I still have the key." He motioned to his hand with his head.

"We just need to figure out how to escape then." June snorted, "It's going to be so easy. Thanks, May!"

Everyone glared at her.

"What? Being daring and adventurous is, like, totally my thing!"

"You're horrible at your thing!" Huey, April, and June shouted in unison.

May grumbled something.

Huey tried to get up. They were all tied to each other.

"Ow! Stop it!"

"Ew! Your tail feathers are in my face!"

"Move your elbow!"

"Stop hitting me!"

"OW!"

"Just STOPPPPPP!"

"Gladly if you'd stop hitting me!"

"That's not me it's Huey!"

"I'm only hitting June because you're elbows in my face!"

"Someone get your tail feathers outta my face!"

June shouted over the noise, "THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK!"

It was April's turn to snort, "Yeah, did you just figure that out?"

"Hmph. At least I'm not a total airhead like Eggplant over here." June jerked her head towards her sister.

"How dare you talk to me like that, I'm six seconds older than you!"

"I. Don't. Care."

"Both of you quit it!" May snapped. She squinted her eyes at a ray of light coming from somewhere, "There's a window up there."

June looked over at the wall, "You're right. I have an idea. How about all of us work together to free one person, because we can't all break out?"

"And who exactly would that person be?" May asked.

"Wellllllllll…." June smiled.

"Seriously?!"

"Classic June."

June shrugged.

"Okay fine. So what will we do?" April asked her.

"On the count of three, everyone stand up: 1….2…..2 in a half…"

"Two in a half?! Really?!" April huffed.

"To be honest I just said that to annoy you." June smirked, "3!" The four kids stood up, "Okay, we'll need to fasten our teeth into the rope." June's voice came out muffled from the rope, "On da count of three, pull up! 1…2…3!" The kids pulled the rope over them and June slipped out. She looked around, eyes adjusting to the dim light. Spying a ledge, she hoisted herself on it and climbed towards the light, her hands touched something smooth, indicating that she had found the window. She hoisted herself onto the windowsill and gripped the sides of the window, opening it. June climbed down, "Okay, I opened the window…now to get you guys on outta here." She untied the rope, "Guess all that Woodchuck stuff you taught me wasn't completely useless!"

April smiled but rolled her eyes.

The kids climbed the wall and jumped out of the window.

"Stupid concrete." June grumbled as she rubbed her leg.

"HEY!" Falcon Graves was around the corner.

"Uhhhhh…..looks like we've got company!" April said in an urgent tone, "Huey, you've got the shape shifting key, right?"

"Yeah…?"

"Great, gimme." She ran off towards the Waddle parking lot, the others trailing after her. She took out her phone, typing something. A car alarm started going off, and April pulled open the doors. She jammed the key in the keyhole inside of the car, making it stop beeping, "Quick, hop in!" She said urgently.

"Of all the cars we could have stolen, did you have to steal A RACECAR?!" June hissed.

"OH sweet! A racecar!" May exclaimed.

"So…who's driving?" Huey asked.

"I am!" April said.

"No I am!" June argued.

"I know the most about cars!"

"Yeah but I play video games about cars!"

April face-palmed, "That's not the same thing, June."

"Graves is gaining on us!" Huey panicked.

April grabbed the wheel, making the car go sideways, narrowly avoiding smashing into another car.

"Waaaaaa!" The kids shouted in fear.

"April, your driving skills suck!" June hissed.

"Oh yeah? I'd like to see you drive a fancy sports car for the first time in your life!"

"Gladly if you'd hand me the wheel!"

April realized in horror that she wasn't driving. She looked next to her and saw that May was having the time of her life, "LET'S GO, BABY!"

Huey, April, and June screamed in fear.

June looked behind them to see Falcon Graves gaining on them in his fancy limo, "Oh no, it's like the movies! It's a car chase! And even worse, we've got a reckless thrill-seeker driving the car! Oh please, anyone but May!"

May gave a maniacal laugh as she drove the car on the highway. April pushed her over and hit the brakes.

"Why did we stop?!" May asked.

"Red light." April pointed over at the red light.

"This is a car chase! There are no red lights!" May pushed her sister and resumed "driving." (It was honestly more like crashing into stuff at this point.)

"We're going to die!" Huey wailed.

May drove off the street and the car crashed into a bush.

"Everyone okay?" Huey asked.

"You are never driving again. Like, ever." April wheezed.

May pumped her fists in the air, "WHOOOOOOOOOOOO! That was AWESOME! I loved every second of it!"

"And I hated every second it." June groaned. She looked around, "Did we get the key at least?"

"Yep." April grasped it in her hand.

"Is the falcon dude gone?"

"I think so." Huey told her, peering from over the bush.

"I'm calling Uncle Scrooge." June said.

"Wait, you had your phone the whole time?! We didn't have to do any of that?!" April gasped.

"Well I-oh shoot, why didn't I think of that?!"

Everyone except June face-palmed.

"Come on, let's just go home. And no one talk about this." June told them.

"Deal. Come on, let's head home."
