"Good morning!" Hotch greeted J.J. and Henry at his door.
J.J. walked in, "We really appreciate you giving us a ride, again."
Jack and Henry had started to talk comics and J.J. tried to get them to focus so they could all be ready for the day, quickly.
As Hotch grabbed his gun and J.J. continued talking to the boys, the door burst open. It made a crashing sound, scaring the two young boys. J.J. held both of them to her, her motherly instincts kicking in. Hotch's protective instinct kicked in as well as he turned around, holding up the pistol he hadn't secured from the safe yet.
"MPD!" One man yelled.
Hotch, with his gun faced toward the men who burst through, yelled, "I'm on the job!"
One of the S.W.A.T. men inched closer, "Drop your weapon." He ordered.
"I'm Aaron Hotchner with the F.B.I," Hotch told them as he disobeyed the order.
"We know who you are. Lower your gun." The S.W.A.T. man demanded.
"Who sent you?" Hotch asked, sternly.
J.J. had both boys wrapped in her arms, they were holding on to her tight, she whispered loud enough for him to hear, "Hotch."
Her words reminded him of who was in the room. He looked over at her, nodded and began to slowly lower his gun,
"This is a mistake."
"Daddy, what's going on?" Jack asked, frightened.
"It's okay, Jack," Hotch told him, continuing to lower his guns.
"On your knees. Hands behind your back." The S.W.A.T. man commanded.
Hotch set the gun on the table, he put his hands in the air,
"Is this really necessary?"
"NOW!"
Hotch did as he ordered, the man came to handcuff him while he was knelt down.
"Daddy…" Jack's voice broke.
"It's okay, Jack. It's a big mistake and everything's going to be alright."
Jack was crying, pleading for his dad as the S.W.A.T. agents walked Hotch out of his apartment in handcuffs. J.J. didn't let go of the boys as the men left, she held them tight.
Rossi, Reid, Garcia, Morgan, Prentiss, and Natalie had already arrived at the B.A.U.
They had been having a bit of fun when they got the call that Hotch had been arrested.
They all went to the conference room to figure things out.
"Where's Hotch being held?" Reid asked as Rossi finally entered the room.
"I don't know. I have call's out." Rossi told the young agent.
"Metro S.W.A.T. took him in?" Prentiss asked.
"Yeah, but it has to be bigger than that," Rossi replied.
"J.J.'s on her way here right now. She couldn't explain everything on the phone because she's with the kids." Natalie told the team.
"Okay, maybe Hotch was swatted," Garcia suggested.
"What?" Morgan asked.
"It's an extreme prank that gamers pull on their opponents where they fake a 911 call on them. It's recently escalated among celebrities." Garcia answered.
"If it was a prank, they wouldn't have arrested him." Rossi shook his head.
Reid interjected, "Unless they didn't know. If someone calls 911 and says Hotch is a threat, S.W.A.T. has to respond which means there's a record of that call."
Garcia sat down to open her laptop, "I'm on it."
J.J. arrived with the kids and Will.
Reid greeted them, "Hey guys!" He tried to maintain excitement, he was happy to see them but he knew they had just gone through something traumatic too.
Natalie gave a sympathetic look to J.J. who nodded with her eyes seemingly growing wider.
"Hi, Uncle Spencer." Henry walked up to him.
Reid picked him up to hug him, "How are you doing, Henry?" He said as he spun him around.
"Good. Everybody's going to hang out at mom's work today." Henry told him.
"Oh, that sounds super fun." Garcia tried to be energetic too. The whole team appreciated that about those two agents.
"Have you been practicing the magic trick I taught you, Jack?" Reid looked at him, trying to cheer him up.
Jack shrugged, "Can I go to my dad's office?"
J.J. rubbed his head, "Yeah, of course."
Will grabbed the youngest from J.J. and took the older ones, "Let's go find something to get into." He said as he walked the young kids out of the room.
The agents all looked to J.J. once they were out of earshot,
"It's bad." She answered to their nonverbal question.
"How much did he see?" Morgan asked.
"All of it, which is why I figured this was the safest place to bring them."
Rossi's phone buzzed.
"Just got the word. He's downtown."
The team decided it best if Rossi went to see Hotch.
He arrived on the scene when S.W.A.T. was escorting him outside the buildings.
Rossi peeled in, jumped out of his car, "Hey! That's the BAU unit chief!"
"Sir, please." A man with the entourage walked up to him.
"You've made a mistake!" Rossi yelled pointing to Hotch.
"Dave, please tell Jack I'm okay," Hotch spoke directly to him.
"Aaron, what's going on?" Rossi yelled as he noticed the symbol on the van they were loading him into. It was the Department of Justice arresting Hotch. That didn't make any sense. Metro Swat arrested him, what would the Department of Justice want with Hotch? How could they think he did anything? Surely, the D.O.J. would know better. He decided he needed to hurry back to the team so they could figure out what was going on.
A/N: I'd appreciate some feedback. Do you like how true I stay to cases or would you like me to add in more of a spin? I intend to keep the characters true to who they are in the earlier seasons while developing a little. That means while Morgan and Savannah are together, I won't be bringing Hank into the story, YET. Would you rather me do a sequel to Centric Genius to include season 12 or have Centric Genius go through season 12? (If it goes through season 12, it will be maybe 60+ chapters) I prefer a sequel but I will leave that up to you!
