Finally the next chapter! It took me a long time to write this one and the ones after this but I really like the direction in which they are going now.

Hermione and Ginny were eating breakfast in the Great Hall when the owls came carrying the mail. A brown owl landed in front of Hermione and Hermione took the copy of Daily Prophet from it. Just as it flew away, another black owl landed in front of her carrying a package.

Ginny looked at Hermione, "What is this?"

"I don't know," Hermione looked at the package "There's a note. It's from Professor Dumbledore."

Happy birthday Miss Granger. I believe that you and Miss Weasley will find this package very useful. Please feel free to approach me should you face any trouble with your training.

"What training?" Ginny asked as Hermione opened the package and found some books

Ginny started looking at the books "A guide to non-verbal magic, The art of wandless magic?"

"Yeah, I remember saying to Dumbledore how I was interested in learning non-verbal and wandless magic. I thought it could help us in the future." Hermione started looking at the contents of one of the books in wonder, "This is amazing, Gin. I'll go and thank him this evening. Let's put these back in the dorm and then we can go to Hogsmeade."

After putting the books back safely, Hermione and Ginny went to Hogsmeade.

"I need to get a new broomstick too," Ginny said excitedly "I just wish I could ride on my old broomstick."

Hermione chuckled "Then good luck explaining to everyone why you have a broom that isn't even invented yet."

Hermione and Ginny went to Splintwitches Sporting Needs and after going over a lot of brooms, Ginny finally decided to buy a Cleansweep four.

"It's still not much as compared to the one I have but I guess in this time it's one of the best broomsticks there is," Ginny said as she put the broomstick in Hermione's beaded bag.

"It's not the broomstick that matters much Gin. It's the skills. And you are one of the best players on the team. Even McGonagall thinks that." Hermione told Ginny. She realized that when it came to Quidditch, Ginny was just like Harry and Ron. "So where are we going next?"

"The three broomsticks," Ginny said as she and Hermione got out of the shop "We promised Serena that we would meet her there"

They reached the three broomsticks and ordered two butterbeers while they waited for Serena.

When the butterbeer came, they cheered "Happy birthday Mione" Ginny said

Hermione smiled "Thanks Gin, I'm really lucky to have you." She looked around "Where is Serena? She should be here by now too."

Ginny looked at the time and realized that Hermione was right. Serena was usually very punctual but this time she was twenty minutes late.

"Let's just wait a little longer. She must have got stuck somewhere." Ginny said but she was worried about Serena.

Ten more minutes had passed when they saw Serena enter the pub. She looked around worriedly but her eyes showed relief when they landed on Hermione and Ginny. She quickly went to them "Thank god, you are here!"

"What happened? Are you okay?" Hermione asked in a concerned tone.

"I didn't know who else to tell! I heard them and then I came here as soon as possible! We need to warn her!" Serena said frantically.

"Serena, you are making no sense. You need to calm down first." Hermione took her hand to calm her down "What happened?"

Serena took a deep breath and then started talking "After breakfast when I was coming here, I heard voices coming from an empty classroom. I was curious so I tried to hear who was there and what they were talking about. I recognized their voices. It was Avery, Evan Rosier, Travis Stone, Severus Snape, and a few other Slytherins. They were talking about how they had to complete their task without failing. They are probably on their way here now looking for her."

Ginny was very confused "What task? Looking for whom?"

"I think they have taken it upon themselves to attack every muggleborn in Hogwarts. And their target right now is Lily Evans."

As soon as Hermione and Ginny heard that, they looked at each other in shock and without wasting any time, went outside to find Lily.

"We need to find Lily and warn her," Ginny said as they came out of the three broomsticks.

"I think we should split up," Serena suggested "That way we'll find her easily soon. I'll go with Ginny."

Hermione nodded "All right," She looked at Ginny "Send me a patronus if you are in trouble or if you find Lily. And be careful. Both of you."

Hermione went in one direction while Ginny and Serena went in the other. Hermione decided to check Zonko's Joke Shop. She figured if Lily was with the marauders then that would be a good place to look. But she had no luck. She checked the bookstore, the three broomsticks again.

Maybe Ginny and Serena found Lily. Hermione thought.

She was about to send Ginny a patronus to ask her if she had any better luck when she had a sudden instinct to check one more place. She went in the direction of the Shrieking Shack. She didn't see anyone on her way and she was about to give up when she saw four figures near the Shrieking Shack. When she went closer, she could make out Lily's red hair and there were three other people with her too whom she couldn't see. She was afraid that the Slytherins had got to her so she ran towards Lily to make sure if she was okay and when she went closer she realized that the three other people were just the marauders. She couldn't see Peter, Marlene, Emmeline or Dorcas anywhere. The others turned around when they heard Hermione running towards them.

Hermione stopped in front of them trying to catch her breath when James asked her "What are you doing here?"

She ignored him and looked at Lily "You're okay" She said trying to figure out where were the Slytherins. Although Lily was safe, she was still having a very bad feeling about this.

Lily was confused "Of course I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be?"

"I thought they got you. But where...?" Hermione was suddenly stopped when a silver horse suddenly came out of nowhere in front of her.

"Is that...a corporeal patronus?" Remus asked looking at the horse in astonishment.

The horse spoke in Ginny's frantic voice "Hermione, they-they are here. It was a trap. The death eaters. It's them-" The patronus suddenly disappeared.

"What was that about? Was that Ginny's patronus? What is going on?" Sirius asked Hermione but he got no answer as Hermione was unable to speak due to fear for Ginny and what might have happened to her.

"Ginny" she whispered as she ran towards the direction where Ginny and Serena had earlier gone off to.

As Lily saw Hermione run away with fear in her eyes, she decided to follow her but was stopped by James.

"Where are you going?" He asked still confused about what just happened

"I think something's really wrong. You heard Ginny's patronus. She said something about the death eaters." Lily said, "We need to go after Hermione and see if everything is okay."

Lily saw others hesitation in following Hermione. "Look, I am going after her. It's up to you guys whether you want to come or not," she said in a determined voice as she went after Hermione. The marauders looked at each other, and knowing that they won't be able to convince Lily, they decided to follow her.

They followed Hermione for a few minutes while she tried to find Ginny everywhere. If she was aware of them following her, she didn't say anything because she had other things on her mind. Finally, she stopped in shock when she reached a deserted ally and then after a second she ran towards it. When Lily and the others followed her, they saw Hermione standing over the body of a girl. They saw Hermione try to wake that girl up as they ran towards her.

"Who is that?" James asked

"That's Serena. She's a seventh year Ravenclaw." Lily replied as she went to Serena's other side trying to see what was wrong. She saw a deep wound on Serena's forehead. "We need to get her to the infirmary"

Suddenly Serena opened her eyes. She looked at everyone standing around her in confusion but when her eyes fell on Hermione, they filled with fear and regret.

"Hermione. T-They were here." She said trying to remember what happened "The death eaters. And they took Ginny with them."

So Ginny has been captured! This is getting so interesting to write now.
