In another universe Aoi Zaizen is the main focus. Aoi is trying to move on from a difficult past while having to deal with everyday issues. Duels take place within LINK VRAINS which hides many secrets including links to Aoi's past. Despite this, Aoi wishes to keep away from the network. Two paths will collide which begun in the past. 39. Chapter 39

"You have school!" Emma yelled.

"School can wait. Akira can't." Aoi hit back. "Take me to SOL."

"That's not happening. Now pack your bag."

"Aoi! SOL isn't to be trusted, I know but I can contact Queen and try and find out why seeing Akira is suddenly being blocked."

"You told her not to contact you anymore so that's useless. I'm going with or without you, Emma."

"You were ready to go to school just now! …. Fine! I'll go…. what about the others?"

"I… don't want the others involved." Aoi stuttered.

"Whatever. Your social life is your own business. Let's go." Emma replied.

SOL Tech

A figure with a long white coat, blue suit with red tie along with black and purple hair stood on a platform in front of the virtual SOL board chess pieces. He was Kitamura.

"Thank you so much for giving me this job, I will not let any of you down!"

"It's your job to make sure LINK VRAINS is rebuilt." said King. "LINK VRAINS produces most of our profit so that's the priority."

"I understand. I'll make sure those Ignis are found and take their data material!"

"Make it so. The new world the Ignis are in is not within SOL's network."

"How can it exist outside?!" Kitamura yelled.

"This is for you to find out. If you succeed you will be given the role of director permanently."

"Thank you so much! You won't regret it!" Kitamura said as the chess pieces faded.

SOL Control Room

Kitamura entered the main hub of SOL Tech. Rows upon rows of computers with men and women working at their stations.

Upon entering the workers stood and faced their new boss.

"I am Kitamura, the new head of this division! Queen is gone and now my reign has begun! Queen failed to protect LINK VRAINS twice!…. So I will build a bigger and better LINK VRAINS…. A LINK VRAINS 3.0!"

"He does know…. we're the ones who are building it….?" whispered an employee to another.

"I want it big! So much bigger! I want shops! Anything which can turn a profit I want it in!"

"Sir." said a female worker. "With respect we were able to build the previous LINK VRAINS thanks to the Ignis data material… without that… all we can do is make a vastly smaller world."

"Of course I know that….! That's why we're going to be searching for the Ignis first!" Kitamura stuttered, almost getting caught up with his big plans. "The Ignis built a world within LINK VRAINS and it would've been destroyed had LINK VRAINS been destroyed…. but now they've moved it entirely…"

"The Hanoi wiped out everything but a small bit of LINK VRAINS during their attack… how do we even begin to search for something like that?" replied a worker.

"This is why you should be grateful of me! Under Queen you had no guidance…. with me you have a bright spark! A genius! Just follow my lead!"

Aoi

Aoi stood outside of SOL Tech's building with Emma.

"I don't think just storming in will help…. if SOL find out you're Blue Girl… it won't help Aqua and the others."

"SOL has my brother… they killed Miyu's parents and kidnapped her…. what else are they up to? Akira must've found something which put him into the coma…. they will know."

"Fine let's go to the front desk and ask to see Queen." Emma replied as she walked in.

Inside Emma went to the front desk.

"How can we help?" said the front desk.

"Yes, I'm here to see Queen… I'm Emma Bessho. If you phone her, she'll see me straight away."

"I'm sorry but Queen is no longer working for SOL."

"What? When did this happen?" Aoi replied.

"It hasn't been announced in public… it happened just today." replied the receptionist.

"I have special permission to see Akira Zaizen, an employee for SOL. He's currently being treated here."

The receptionist typed in Emma's name on her computer and she read what was on her screen.

"Akira Zaizen is currently not able to be seen due to security purposes."

"Wait… what about his sister, Aoi? She's received no information?"

"I'm sorry but Mr. Zaizen is currently off-bounds. We can contact you when the situation changes."

"That's not good enough!"

"That's my brother!" Aoi yelled.

The receptionist's phone rang at that moment and she answered it.

"Hello? Yes I opened the file, she's down here right now…. I understand…." she hung up the phone. "Someone will be down to see you."

"That's better."

20 Minutes Later

Emma and Aoi entered Queen's old office. They had been invited in by Kitamura.

"So you're the new Queen?" Emma asked.

"Not at all, she failed in her job. I shall make sure her failures never happen again. It's no surprise that the moment she failed to replace Akira the Hanoi attacked. Akira Zaizen did a great job to protect every network SOL ran." Kitamura explained.

"As you might know…. I worked for Queen." Emma said.

"The board knew about that and informed me. The Hanoi blocked all footage from the final battles and Queen was logged out before anything else went down… what truly happened Miss Bessho?"

"I didn't see much myself… it was Blue Girl and the others who helped. You would have to ask them."

"Yes… but you know who they are?"

"No. Neither did Queen. We were fighting to take down a terrorist group."

"And the Ignis…. SOL has great plans for them… wherever they are."

"What about my brother?" Aoi asked.

"Yes. The doctors moved him because we found out the Hanoi had infiltrated SOL…. until we're sure no such Hanoi sympathiser exists in the building…. no one but the board know."

"Look! I…." Aoi clenched her fist, she knew she couldn't expose herself as Blue Girl in case it jeopardized Aqua but she wanted to yell her distrust at SOL after learning what they had truly did.

"I understand but there's nothing I can do." Kitamura explained.

"Well…. thank you." Emma said.

"No. I want to see this board!" Aoi demanded.

"The board are very important people…"

"So? I want my brother!"

"Aoi…."

"The board are not going to see you. They have their own reasons."

"Just as Queen said…. it all happened before she was appointed…. they are the ones…." Aoi thought.

"We shall inform you when we get more information." Kitamura said.

"No…. I won't leave without information!" Aoi leapt up from her seat and looked around.

"Aoi, stop it!" Emma insisted.

Aoi stormed out of the office and begun to run down the corridor.

"The top floor… that's where I'll find some clues!" Aoi thought as she found an elevator and got in.

She hit the top button as the doors begun to shut. However before they could they slid back open.

"What now?!"

"Miss Zaizen, you must leave the building now!" Kitamura yelled.

"Where's Emma?"

"She's locked in the office… you're both free to go if you leave now."

"Whatever SOL is hiding…. I'll beat it out of you!" Aoi rolled up her sleeve and revealed a SOL-style duel disk with blue light.

"I don't need to duel you! I don't know what you're thinking but this will solve nothing!" Kitamura then had a bright idea. "If the board see that I can deal with a former Charisma Duelist…. I might increase my chances of a quick promotion!"

Kitamura showed his SOL duel disk band.

"Fine! My job prospects might need this!"

"Let's duel!" both yelled. As LINK VRAINS was now off-limits, SOL had created a virtual network to allow duelists to duel in real life.

Turn 1

Aoi LP: 4000 Hand: 5

Kitamura LP: 4000 Hand: 5

"I summon Trickstar Candina!" A fairy in a yellow dress emerged.

Trickstar Candina ATK: 1800 DEF: 400 Light/Fairy/LVL 4

"Her effect! I add a Trickstar Card to my hand! I choose the Field Spell Trickstar Light Stage and play it! I can now add a Trickstar Monster to my hand and I choose Lycoris! And I use her effect!"

"How many effects?!"

"I can reveal Lycoris and summon her by returning Candina!" Lycoris disappeared and a fairy in a red dress appeared with a red stick in her hand.

Trickstar Lycoris ATK: 1600 DEF: 1200 Light/Fairy/LVL 3

"I set two cards and end my turn!"

Turn 2

Aoi LP: 4000 Hand: 3

Kitamura LP: 4000 Hand: 5

"I draw!"

"Lycrois hits you with 200 damage each time you add a card to your hand!" Lycrois

"What?!"

Kitamura LP: 4000 – 3800

"Lightstages hits you with 200 damage each time a Trickstar inflicts battle or effect damage to you!"

Kitamura LP: 3800 - 3600

"Now I use my Trap Reincarnation! I banish your hand and you draw the same amount of cards!" The cards in Kitamura's hand disappeared and six more appeared. "Now Lycrois hits you again!"

Lycrois slammed her stick down and an energy blast struck Kitamura.

Kitamura 3600 – 2400

"Now Lightstage!"

Kitamura LP: 2400 - 2200

"Whatever! I have a perfectly good hand to use! I use the Spell Ancient Rules to summon a level five or higher Normal Monster from my hand! I summon the mighty Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" The black dragon fired on to his field.

Red-Eyes Black Dragon ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000 Dark/Dragon

"I play the Spell Inferno Fire Blast hitting you with the attack value of Red-Eyes…. 2400!" The Spell fired a blazing fire ball at Aoi which she shielded herself from.

Aoi LP: 4000 – 1600

"Attack Lycrois, Red-Eyes!" yelled Kitamura as it fired a similar attack at the Monster as the Spell did to Aoi.

Aoi LP: 1600 – 800

"I end my turn!"

Turn 3

Aoi LP: 800 Hand: 3

Kitamura LP: 2200 Hand: 4

"Draw! I banish Reincarnation to summon Lycrois back to the field!"

Trickstar Lycoris ATK: 1600 DEF: 1200 Light/Fairy/LVL 3

"I summon Candina!"

Trickstar Candina ATK: 1800 DEF: 400 Light/Fairy/LVL 4

"Candina's effect! I add Lilybell to my hand and when she is added to my hand outside of the Draw Phase she can be summoned!" A small pink haired with pigtails fairy in a red dress was summoned.

Trickstar Lilybell ATK: 800 DEF: 2000 Light/Fairy/LVL 2

"I Link Summon with Candina and Lilybell!" Both flew into the circuit which formed on the floor. "Appear LINK-2, Trickstar Holly Angel!"

A long blonde haired female with white wings appeared. She wore a blue dress with black stockings. She held a long whip with a red ball and spikes.

Trickstar Holly Angel ATK: 2000 Light/Fairy/LINK-2/Bottom Left, Bottom Right

"I use my second face down, Call of the Haunted to return Lillybell in defence to Holly Angel's left link!"

Trickstar Lilybell ATK: 800 DEF: 2000 Light/Fairy/LVL 2

"When a Monster is summoned next to Angel's link, she hits you with 200 damage!" Holly Angel launched her whip at Kitamura which struck him in his stomach.

"Do you know who I am?!"

Kitamura LP: 2200 – 2000

"A nuisance in my way! My Field Spell activates!"

Kitamura LP: 2000 – 1800

"Holly Angel gains attack equal to the amount of damage a Trickstar inflicted!"

Holly Angel ATK: 2200

"I use the Spell Trickstar Bouquet! I give the attack of one Trickstar to another! I return Lyocris to my hand to power up Holly Angel by 1600 until the End Phase!" Lyocris disappeared as Holly Angel glowed in green aura.

Holly Angel ATK: 3800

"Attack his Red-Eyes!" Aoi yelled as Holly Angel launched her whip which slammed into the dragon, wiping it out.

Kitamura LP: 1800 – 400

"Now Light Stage!"

Kitamura LP: 400 – 200

"I end my turn with a face down."

Holly Angel ATK: 2000

Turn 4

Aoi LP: 800 Hand: 2

Kitamura LP: 200 Hand: 4

"I won't lose! I draw and since your annoying Monster isn't here…. I survive! Monster Reborn returns Red-Eyes!"

Red-Eyes Black Dragon ATK: 2400 DEF: 2000 Dark/Dragon

"I use Red-Eyes Fusion! I can send material from my deck! I send one Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact to Fusion Summon! Emerge Meteor Black Comet Dragon!" A black dragon covered in flames appeared.

Meteor Black Comet Dragon ATK: 3500 DEF: 2000 Dark/Dragon/Fusion/LVL 8

"3500?"

"I use his effect! I send a Red-Eyes Monster from my deck and hit you halve of its attack as damage… I send my third and final Red-Eyes! Take 1200 damage!"

"Then I use my Trickstar Wall Trap! When I would take damage while controlling a Link Monster, I can reduce it by 500 for each of my Monster's links! Holly has two so I only take 200!"

Aoi LP: 800 – 600

"Then I attack!"

"I wanted that! I send Trickstar Corobane! When a Trickstar battles, by sending her from my hand, Holly Angel doubles her attack!"

Holly Angel ATK: 4000

"What?!" Meteor fired from its mouth but Holly Angel launched her whip which blocked the blast. The whip slammed into the Fusion Monster which destroyed it. It sent Kitamura across the floor.

Kitamura LP: 200 – 0 Aoi Wins

Aoi saw Kitamura's key card to the office and she took it. She quickly walked down the hallway and swiped it down.

Emma was seen waiting as Aoi opened.

"Guards!" Kitamura yelled.

"Oh Aoi…. what have you done…."

"It doesn't matter…. we should leave…." Aoi replied.
