HIMARI
'Stop fighting me.'
'Your efforts are futile.'
'Why don't you be a good pet and obey me?'
'Do you want to be punished?'
Get out of my head! Leave me alone!
The sound of Hakujaku's and Soaku's heartbeats fueled her inclination to rip them apart, limb by limb.
But still, Himari fought the urge to do so.
'Give up, you disobedient shrew.'
Hakujaku held his daughter tightly in his arms and refused to let go.
"Himari, it'll be alright! I won't let go of you this time. I know I've been a terrible father and you're a demon, but I love you and we'll get through this!" he sobbed.
Hakujaku turned to a frightened Soaku and said, "Soaku, call an ambulance!"
'I demand you to kill these pests.'
Arghhh! I-I can't hold on…
"Bah! Haku, that girl is one of those things! Look at those horns on her head. God, the first thing those paramedics will do when they arrive is send in an army and shoot her and us on sight! I say we should take matters into our own hands and kill it before it kills us!"
Soaku bolted upstairs faster than anyone her size should be able to run. Moments later, she came down holding a shotgun and aimed it at the writhing Himari.
"Soaku, put that thing down! She may be a demon, but she's still my daughter!" Hakujaku roared as he shielded his child from Soaku's aim.
"Haku, you stupid idiot! That thing you're protecting isn't your daughter anymore, that's an oni! There's only one way to get rid of a demon and that's by shooting it!"
Muzan stifled a laugh at Soaku's ridiculous assumption that guns kill demons.
Soaku cocked the gun and repositioned her aim.
Himari's eyes went to Muzan, who was casually sitting while watching the spectacle with a serene expression on his face.
'See? I told you to kill them, you refused, and now they're trying to kill you. How delightful, Himari. How are you going to get yourself out of this bind?'
I don't care anymore. As long as I don't have to be a slave to you, I'm fine with anything! I'd rather die than belong to you!
'Tsk, such a shame that you haven't comprehended the fact that you already belong to me. I can even control your body…'
Suddenly, Himari felt an arousing sensation throughout her body. Her clit and nipples hardened in response.
'I can make you feel very good if you do as I say…'
Ahhh… please touch- Wait, no! I can't let you win!
"Say your prayers, you vile creature!" Soaku bellowed. Then she pulled the trigger.
Awaiting the blow, Himari shut her eyes.
The single shot resonated throughout the entire house.
Why didn't I feel anything?
Confused as to why she didn't feel any pain, Himari opened her eyes.
Suddenly, she felt her Hakujaku's arms around her go limp and heard a small thud. The smell of freshly spilled blood filled her nostrils.
No. It can't be—
Himari shakily looked to her side and gasped at the sight.
Hakujaku was sprawled across the hardwood floor as blood poured out of him.
N-n-o…
"No!" Himari broke out of Muzan's powerful silencing curse and wailed in sorrow.
"No! Father, please get up!"
She rushed to his motionless body and tried to stop the bleeding. The scent of blood made her salivate, but she ignored the nagging desire to feed.
The only thing that mattered was helping her father.
"Father… please get up! Don't leave me, not like this!" she pleaded. She held his head up and tried to wake him.
But he didn't move.
Muzan's eyes widened in genuine surprise.
Himari heard Hakujaku's heart throb one last time then cease. Tears welled in her pink eyes as she gently dropped her father's corpse.
Suddenly, the feeling of despair vanished and was replaced by sheer rage. Anger swelled inside of her as she turned to Soaku, who was trembling.
MUZAN
Soaku dropped the firearm to the floor. "I-I didn't mean to shoot him. I was—he got in the way! I—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Himari lunged at her at lightening speed. She wrapped her hand around Soaku's fat neck and held her in midair. The large woman choked in Himari's vicious grasp.
"You killed my father," Himari said in a voice that didn't sound like hers at all. This voice was guttural and demonic.
Muzan watched the spectacle in utter disbelief.
"Give me one reason why I should let you live."
Soaku struggled and kicked her stubby legs in the air.
Himari squeezed her neck even harder, enjoying how her face turned red, then a strange shade of blue.
Tears welled in Soaku's eyes as they looked like they would burst out of their sockets.
Then Himari applied even more pressure.
Suddenly, a loud crack resonated throughout the entire house.
{Crack.}
Soaku's body stood still, suspended in the air.
Himari released her and let Soaku's body fall to the floor with a large thud. She slowly turned to Muzan with an empty expression.
The sight was eerie and menacing, to say the least. Her blank expression reminded him of—
Yorichii.
Clearing his throat, Muzan rose from the sofa and looked at the two corpses. Then he felt the presence of two other humans.
Sara and Yui were standing on the stairecase, gawking at the horrific scene.
Without warning, Himari bolted towards them and sliced them in hand with one claw.
Blood gushed from their severed limbs like a fountain as they crumbled to the floor.
Himari fell on her knees and fed.
HAKUJAKU
FLASHBACK:
"Daddy, wake up!"
Tiny hands played with his faced and squeezed his nose. With a smile, Hakujaku sat up in his bed and looked at the small girl in front of him.
"Sweetie, it's too early. Let's go back to sleep," he joked.
Hakujaku embraced her and playfully covered her in the blanket. The girl screamed in joy and amusement as he tickled her.
After the tickling session, Hakujaku asked the girl, "Where's mommy?"
"Mommy's in the kitchen! She's making some waffles for you!"
"Ooohhh, you know how much I love waffles!" Hakujaku pulled the young girl in for a kiss on her cheek.
Hand in hand, Hakujaku and the girl walked down the hallway and into the kitchen.
A tall woman stood in the kitchen with a whisk in her hands, stirring a bowl batter. Upon hearing their footsteps, the woman turned around.
She wore a white apron and her curly black hair was pinned into a messy bun. She had kind brown eyes and long eyelashes. Her deep brown skin glowed in the sunlight.
"Good morning, honey! I'll be finished in a few minutes. I wouldn't want you to be late for work!" The woman poured a spoonful of batter into a waffle maker.
The small girl guided Hakujaku to the dining table where a newspaper sat waiting for him. He sat in the dining chair and skimmed through the Daily Japan newspaper.
"Honey, would you mind picking her up after school? I have this huge meeting I need to attend. I'll make it up to you, I promise," the woman said as she placed three plates on the table.
"Not a problem, Luna." He l directed his attention to the small girl who was noisy poking at her waffles with a fork.
"Himari, hurry up and eat! You don't want to be late for school, right?" the woman laughed.
PRESENT:
Luna, I've failed you… I'm sorry. I didn't protect her. Please forgive me...
