Sam had gotten to Jack's at 7 pm he had dinner ready for her when she walked through the door. Sam was worn out, with all the list of items she was going over. She was in various stages of lab work. She had finally wrapped the last test of the day with the rest of SG-1 and 11 done for the day; she figured she could wrap up herself.

After dinner, Sam and Jack were on the couch. Jack had turned it to a hockey game. Her head was in Jack's lap, and he was mindlessly caressing her arms, stroking her hair.

"Jack?" Sam asked.

"Hmm?" Jack asked. Sam was about to speak when Jack's team scored a goal, and he got overly excited.

"I'm sorry, Sam, what was it?" Jack asked.

"Nothing," Sam claimed.

Jack knew the sound of her voice didn't mean the words.

Jack turned off the hockey game.

"What is it, Sam?" Jack asked.

"Daniel was right," Sam said.

"He usually is, but what about?" Jack asked.

"That this, that us as a couple changes everything," Sam claimed.

Jack smiled.

"What you think that it just be me calling you Carter all the time at work and that we'd come sleep together and there would be no consequence, come on Sam," Jack claimed.

"I just didn't think it would hurt this much," Sam said honestly.

"Hurt? Damn Sam, what did I do?" Jack asks her.

"Nothing, it's just you're going through the gate for the first time with known enemies, and I'm not going, and It scares the shit out of me," Sam admitted gripping into Jack's embrace.

"Sam, I trust you more than anyone else, but I've been doing this for a hell of a long time. T and Robert have my back, and we're not going in alone. Besides, we're just going on a hunch from the Tok'ra."

Sam smiled.

Jack smiled and looked down at her and kissed her lips.

He knew he couldn't promise he wouldn't get hurt, hell he couldn't promise he'd come back through the gate. When they were part of the team, at least they knew they had each other's back, but now it was different, and although they had both went on a few separate missions, this one by far had been the most dangerous he had gone on without her.

Sam didn't get the mission briefing, but it seemed that two system lords were fighting over an area of the galaxy, and they were meeting on the ground. The mission was to get there before they did eyeball the targets and home for a big exposition dealt by the Tok'ra before either system lord left the planet. The timing had to be exact, or they wouldn't be making it back in one piece.

Jack wasn't going to let Sam run the scenarios in her mind and refused to provide the details he knew, and for all he knew the Tok'ra got the wrong planet, it wouldn't be the first time.

Jack had gotten off the couch and pulled Sam to the bedroom. He knew that neither of them would sleep very well. For a long time, they just held each other.

"Let's look at the stars," Jack stated.

Sam looked at him but nodded, and they went up to his telescope.

Sam and Jack looked at the night sky for hours, what stars Jack didn't know Sam could fill in the blanks, and they were taking turns showing each other their favorites.

It was getting relatively late, and both desperately needed sleep.

Sam and Jack went back to the bedroom.

Sam allowed Jack to roll over and put his arm around her. She pushed her body hard against his, trying to feel as much contact as possible.

Jack didn't say anything, and the two of them finally fell asleep.

Sam opened her eyes, her heart pounding she had a nightmare that Jack, Teal'c, and Robert had somehow been separated from the other teams. They were in a barren landscape with no cover, and suddenly enemies of all kinds came forward, warped images her mind created nothing they had ever encountered before.

She moved quickly, startling Jack awake.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked.

"Nothing just a bad dream," Sam claimed.

She looked at the clock in 0420.

Sam kept tossing around.

"Sam," Jack warned.

"Sorry, I just can't get back to sleep. I'll leave you alone," Sam stated and started to get up from the bed.

"Don't do that." Jack wined.

Sam turned over to look at him in the dark. She couldn't see his eyes but could easily make out his outline.

He went for her lips but was a little low and grabbed onto her lower lip, causing Sam to giggle.

"That's what I like to hear," Jack stated.

"Mmm, well, maybe you should do it again," Sam replied.

Jack smiled against her. He went over kissing her lips again. The familiar rush his lips against her caused her hips to fly forward, and Jack to bring his hands lower to hips.

One thing leads to another, and they make quick work in the dark out of their bedclothes.

Sam is suddenly on top of Jack, and he is ready to enter her.

She pushes her self down onto him, but as soon as he has penetrated her, he has her flipped over, and this time isn't like the other times, it's slow and methodical, and they are both trying to express what they want with their bodies. Both instantly recognize what the other is doing. The back and forth seem to go on for hours, but neither is complaining. All of a sudden, both of them are at a climax, and Sam can't seem to come down.

Jack can't get over the way this woman makes him feel, and every day he can't believe they had waited so long to share this connection.

When they are finally done, Sam envelopes him, and the two fall back asleep for a few more hours until the alarm goes off.

Despite the lack of sleep, both feel refreshed and better about the day than they did 12 hours previously. The two of them leave for the base together. Sam driving Jack in, knowing the moment he walks through that gate and is cleared to go home, they'll be leaving the SGC together.

SG-11 and Sg-1 have lunch together right before SG-1 is set to embark.

Sam doesn't feel much like eating, but Jack continues to eye her, and she would shovel a scoop of food into her mouth and smile.

Sam sees the teams off, and the last words out of her mouth were

"Be careful, sir."

Jack smiled.

"I always am, see you soon." and with that, Jack and the other SG teams head out.

They are to report back in 24 hours if it's safe, but they will not be concerned until 72 hours have passed with no communication.

Sam took a deep breath and walked back to her lap, queuing the items up in her lab that she needed to work on.

Sam had worked diligently and had kept her mind off Jack until Daniel knocked on her door, telling her it was time for dinner.

If Jack didn't know, he would soon find out Sam had already chosen to stay on base while he was out on the mission. Daniel seemed to remain more on base than at his apartment.

Sam had gone to the mess hall and decided that blue jello would cheer her up. Daniel and Sam talk eagerly about there findings of the day, and several people walk by them, not sure how the two could have such an eager discussion about work.

SG- 1, 7, and 9 were setting up a campsite. At the moment SG-9 had taken watch, it seemed that the planet was barren. It could support life. There had been little foliage or wildlife seen. There was a small cover, but they had found a rock ledge that went several feet back, a perfect place to set up camp. There were structures as if this was a common meeting place. Teal'c realized by the gate coordinates that it was a known planet to make negotiations, treaties, and plan wars. So they were confident they were in the right place.

It got dark and cold quickly on the planet. Jack and Robert were sharing a tent, and the two hadn't gone as far as zipping their sleeping bags together, but they were huddled close.

"Kind of makes you wish SG-11 came along for the ride?" Robert asks.

"Nah, you make a pretty good snuggle buddy," Jack said jokingly.

"Good to know I'll make sure it gets back to SG-11's commander," Robert claimed.

"Oh, I don't know if you'll want to do that. I hear payback can be..." Jack gets cut off by Colonel Peirson. "Looks like gate activity, sir."

Jack shakes the sleeping bag and uses the binoculars to look towards the gate.

Teal'c is also looking to see who has come to the planet.

"That is Heru'ur," Teal' exclaimed.

"I thought you said he takes what he wants?" Jack stated.

"He does this could be an ambush for the other, system lord," Teal'c claimed.

Guards are all around the Stargate, and a large group head to the building, where the group assumes they will meet. No one seems to be expecting 3 SG teams as none of the guards wander further than a few 100 feet from the gate, and once the rest enter the building, no one comes out. SG- 7 takes first watch then nine, and finally, Sg-1 watches the two suns rise and feel the temperature climb.

About 3 hours in the group is drenched in sweat and happy for the shadow from the rock face. There is no movement.

A radio communication comes through, and it's the Tok'ra wanting eyes on the ground update.

When Jack tells the Tok'ra no one else has come through the gate, there is an immediate concern. Something has gone wrong, and the Tok'ra abort the mission, claiming it's no longer safe to stay in the area, and feel that the ambush could be on Heru'ur and suggest that the SG teams try to return to Earth as quickly as possible.

When Jack looks down at the gate, there are still 25 gou'ald who have set up shop at the entrance, Jack had seen one already pass out due to the heat, and they are in the direct sun, but Jack knows that they won't last long enough in the blazing sun the temperature in the shadows is already 110.

With a loud crack, there is a sound of a Go'auld vessel coming down from the skies, something the Tok'ra wasn't planning on.

"Shit," Jack states out loud. The group from the gate stand their ground, and over 100 troops rush out of the building to see a vast army invade. No one can get a good look at who it is exactly.

All of a sudden, the group's radio comes to life.

"This isn't going to end well. We got bad intel. This planet is about to be destroyed. You got 30 seconds to get to the rings 150 yards to the left. You're going to be exposed time it right." Jacob's voice booms through the walkie talkie.

Jack does as the man says, and doesn't question it, making sure all 9 of them squish together they were caught, but it was too late, the rings came down, and suddenly Sg-1, 7, and 9 are all aboard a Tokra ship that one Jacob Carter is controlling.

"It's going to get bumpy," Jacob says suddenly without a greeting, and suddenly the group of 9 are bumped and slammed against the walls as Jacob runs to the front to push the vessel into hyperspace.

Jack can't stand and realizes that Robert and Major Deems from SG-7 are on top of him. He then realizes the pain shooting through his thigh. He had landed on some type of equipment.

Teal'c untangled the three of them, and when he helped Jack up off the ground, Jack realized how much pain was shooting through his leg.

"Are you alright, O'Neill?" Teal'c asked.

"I'm sure I'm fine," Jack claims.

"Say, T I don't have. I don't know anything sticking gouged into my leg, do I?" Jack asked.

Teal'c looks at him and down on the ground.

"It seems as though when we jostled, you hit your leg against a sharp corner of the create, but there is no blood," Teal'c claimed.

"Great, good sign," Jack claimed.

Jack limped to the control room.

"What the hell was that?" Jack asked.

"Me saving your asses for the 100th time!" Jacob screams.

"Is Sam not with you?" Jacob asked.

"No, she's home," Jack claims.

Jacob looks relieved.

"We got some bad intel. We had just heard one end of the conversation when we got there are over 100 ships in the sky. We stayed cloaked. Luckily we weren't caught.

"I was told to leave multiple times, but I wasn't sure who was asked on the mission, I figured you and Sam were down there," Jacob claimed.

"Sorry to disappoint," Jack claimed.

"Quite the opposite, that was close, closer than we've ever been," Jacob claims.

"So what the plan? How long until we're back to Earth?" Jack asks.

"About that..." Jacob claims.

"Don't tell me, we're several days from the nearest stargate, and we have no way to contact earth." Jack spews.

"It's like you can read my mind," Jacob claims.

"Sam is worried enough," Jack claims.

Jacob frowns.

"I'm trying my best here, Jack, we're three days out from the nearest planet," Jacob claims.

Jack scrubs his face.

"All you can do now is wait," Jacob claims.

"Of course." Jack insists.

Jacob notices the limp.

"Are you okay?" Jacob asks.

"Yeah, Dad, thanks for asking," Jack says in a huff.

He walks back to the group to inform them of the news.

No one takes it too badly. Robert pulls out a deck of cards he had in his pocket and asks.

"Who wants to play."
