Based on Ethan's one night stand with Fenisha and him finding out she's pregnant.

He was never one with the ladies. It was more Cal's style than his. Somehow the Knight magic always worked with his brother and he could get any woman he wanted. But, for some reason, he never could. He didn't have the Knight magic, all he had was the Hardy magic. Maybe that was why. Maybe the Hardy magic didn't work on women. His love life had certainly been filled with obstacles.

His first relationship was with Honey, that didn't last long. Then for a long time, he thought he would get together with Lily. That too didn't last. In the end, they were better off as friends than lovers. Next, he moved onto Alicia. Even then his relationship with her was on and off. It didn't help that Cal just happened to fall for her at the same time. Things got complicated between the three of them when that happened. But, Ethan never told Alicia how he felt about her.

Their relationship got rekindled when Cal died. The dynamic between them was good, feelings were still there, but even then it didn't last long. Ethan's guilt about what happened to his brother and his need for revenge strained their relationship. Took it to a place where the cracks could never be repaired. Even when he had the courage to propose to Alicia, Ethan knew what they once had could never be what they had now.

After Alicia, Ethan's love life became even more complicated. Scott had recently died and knowing he had played a role in his death, Ethan began a relationship with his partner, Leigh-Anne. Even then, that relationship was cut short. To be fair, it was the right decision to make. Then he developed feelings for Effie, a young girl and the daughter of one of his friends from university. A connection grew between them. Ethan even had the strength to tell her that he was living with Huntington's disease, something he never got to tell Alicia even though he knew she was the one for him. However, knowing Effie's condition and his outcome of his disease, Ethan ended the relationship.

After Effie, Ethan thought that was it. He thought he would never find the girl he would settle down with. He was wrong. That was until he met Fenisha. When he first met her, Ethan assumed she was a relative visiting a patient at the hospital. So he was pleased when she agreed to grab a drink with him. Conversation between them flowed easily. She made him laugh and smile. Something that hadn't happened to him since Cal died. He liked her and thought she liked him too. Things moved quickly. That very same evening, they had gone back to his place and had slept together. The next morning Ethan was surprised to discover that Fenisha was a paramedic and they would be working together. Realising they would be seeing each other everyday didn't bother Ethan and he had hoped he could continue seeing her. His hopes were once again dashed when Ethan found out that Fenisha was seeing someone else. None other than his best friend, Will.

Pretending to be happy for them, Ethan felt so stupid. He had done it again. He had found someone he liked only to have them being taken by someone he thought he could trust. He shook his head knowingly. Cal would be looking down at him and laughing. Not in a mean way, more teasingly. Not only did Ethan know Cal would be smirking, but Will reminded him so much of his brother. It scared him just how similar Will was to Cal. Will had the same confidence and charm like Cal. Knew how to talk to the ladies, he even dressed like Cal. And that was what bothered Ethan the most. If Cal was alive, he would have done exactly what Will had done. Stole the woman he liked.

Then again, he shouldn't have been angry with Will. It's not like they were officially a couple. They only had a one night stand and even then, they both agreed that while it was fun, they were not compatible. Ethan wanted to settle down and have a family, Fenisha didn't. Oh, how wrong was she?

Three weeks later, Fenisha discovered she was pregnant. It didn't take a genius to work out who the father was. It was a lot to take in. Her relationship with Will was going so well that sharing her news with him would definitely come as a shock to him. It did to her. But, then she had to tell Ethan which would lead to Will finding out that she had slept with his best friend. Will's answer to the news was unexpected. Fenisha didn't think he would suggest having an abortion, but he did. His answer made her realise that she needed to do it alone and so she dismissed Will when he had offered he'd stand by her. However, after seeing a patient with their child, Fenisha knew she couldn't go through with the abortion or that she could tell Will and Ethan of her decision to keep the baby.

Will soon found out Ethan was the father. Understandably, he was angry. But, it was just a one night stand and it was both he and Fenisha got together. With Will and Ethan both still kept in the dark, Fenisha knew it would be only a matter of another few weeks until she started to show. By then it would be too late to hide it from them, especially Ethan.

Fenisha felt horrible that Monday morning. Morning sickness had hit her hard. She and Lev had admitted an RTC patient when another wave of nausea came over. She excused herself from Lev's presence before bursting through the toilet stall. Ethan, who had been nearby, noticed how rushed Fenisha was. Concerned, he walked over to the bathroom door. He quietly entered the bathroom before knocking quietly on the stall door.

"Fenisha, it's me, Ethan. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." She replied, flushing the toilet.

The door to the stall opened and Fenisha pushed her way past Ethan. Leaning against the sink, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her skin was pale and there was a metallic after taste in her mouth. Ethan noticed how pale she looked.

"Are you sure you're okay? I mean it's not the first time I've seen you rush into the toilet. And I'm not stalking you or anything, it's just an observation."

"It's nothing. I've probably caught a bug or something."

"Well, whatever it is, you shouldn't be at work. Why don't you go home and rest? Doctor's orders."

"I can't." Fenisha shook her. "Like I said it's probably just a bug. Anyway, I can't go home, I'm working overtime. I need the money."

Just then the door opened and Lev's head popped in.

"Fenisha, we've got a call out."

"Okay, I'll be with you in a sec."

Lev then disappeared. Fenisha quickly threw some cold water over her face.

"Ethan, I'm good." She could see he wasn't convinced. "I'll see you later, yeah?"

"Yes, of course."

It had been another busy shift. Once again, Fenisha had disobeyed orders and had gotten herself into trouble. This time she had caught her left hip on something sharp as she tried to move away metal pipes. Not only had she hurt her hip, but she had also hurt her ankle. She found herself in a cubicle being treated by Ethan.

"Will you ever learn?" Ethan asked as he cleaned up the wound.

"Uh, no." Fenisha chuckled.

"Well, the wound doesn't seem to be bad. It's a bit deep but nothing that a pair of stitches can't handle. I'm just going to get you some paracetamol for the ankle and I'll be right back."

Ethan was about to get the paracetamol when Fenisha grabbed his wrist. He stopped in his tracks.

"I don't need paracetamol. Just stitch me up and I'll deal with the ankle. I need to get back to work." Fenisha told him.

"No, what you need is rest. You've just been involved in an accident. a very serious one. I might add." Ethan ordered her. "And anyway, you do need paracetamol. It will help with the pain."

"I said I'll deal with it!" Fenisha snapped more forcefully than she'd meant to.

"What harm can it do? It's only paracetamol."

"No. No paracetamol, Ethan."

While they were having the discussion, Ethan noticed Fenisha kept rubbing her stomach. He was about to examine her when she pushed his hand away.

"It's okay, I just want to make sure you didn't injure your stomach." Ethan implied.

"I didn't. It's just that bug I told you about."

"Fenisha, let me just check you over. If there's no damage then I'll leave you to rest." Ethan told her.

Getting checked over knew it meant having an ultrasound. One she didn't want. Fenisha was about to refuse having one when Ethan stopped her mid sentence.

"And don't say you don't need one. If your stomach is causing you pain, it's better safe than sorry."

"Fine." Fenisha reluctantly gave in.

The gel was cold on her stomach as she felt Ethan move the device around in circles. She just held her breath waiting for Ethan to say something.

"Everything alright?" Fenisha asked when she didn't hear any words coming from Ethan.

"Um," Ethan stuttered. "Yeah, it looks like um everything is fine. There's no damage to your stomach, no internal bleeding, but um," He didn't quite know how to finish his sentence.

"Uh, Fenisha? Do you know that you're um pregnant?" Ethan wondered as he turned around to face her.

Fenisha lowered her head. This is now how she wanted Ethan to find out. She had wanted to do it in person. To meet up for a drink maybe and talk about it. But, that hadn't happened. By her reaction or lack of, Ethan could tell she was hiding something from him. Fenisha lifted her head back up before sitting up and swinging her legs around. The trolley mattress dipped as Ethan sat down next to her. They sat in silence for a few minutes before Fenisha cleared her throat.

"Er, yeah I know I'm pregnant."

"Is it… is it mine?" Was the only thing Ethan could ask.

"Do you even have to ask?"

"It's not Will's then?

"No, it's not Will's."

"I'm going to be a father." Ethan said, the news starting to sink in.

"Look, Ethan, if you don't want…" Fenisha started to say.

"No, of course I want the baby. I mean if you want to keep the baby then I'm happy, but there is something I have to tell you before you decide anything"

There was a moment of silence.

"I've got Huntington's."

Fenisha blinked a couple of times. "Ethan..."

"Look, I know this is a lot to take in what with you finding out you're pregnant, but I just thought you should know. If this changes any decision you decide upon then I'll support you."

"No. What I mean, is 'thank you' for telling me, but this won't affect my decision. I want to keep the baby."

"Really? Even if there is a 50/50 chance of our baby inheriting the gene?"

"There's also a 50/50 chance that they won't."

Ethan nodded his head. "Okay."

Fenisha smiled her thanks.
