As we expected once the tape was due to reach Naruto the phone in the hospital room rang. We knew it would be Naruto before Madara even answered the phone and at first, you could hear the anger in the Hokage's voice, but when Madara didn't budge it became desperation. It would destroy his image if this got out to the public that he was holding ninja hostage and lying about it to the people that he's supposed to protect. I doubt they'd feel good knowing their protector was the one causing all the missing persons. Madara calmly laid out our demands and anything that Naruto tried to object Madara reminded him that we have the video uploaded it just needed to be publicized. Naruto would go silent and Madara continued with the demands.
There was nothing that Naruto could do since he was aware that we had him. Should he attempt to assassinate any of us we've made it so four random workers in our mansion will obtain the video with emailed instructions to post it online should any of us be found deceased. I don't doubt that he'll attempt at least one assassination since he does not know about the failsafe. He would be foolish to think we didn't keep some kind of leverage over him. However, I also knew that Naruto had dumbed down in his years of being Hokage for the leaf village.
Madara hangs up the phone and looks over at me, "he agreed to everything as we expected. The poor Hokage is terrified of someone finding out about his misdeeds. He's going to be sending a large sum of money to make up for almost killing you Ryuko," he said.
I nod and try to stand from bed. Kiba comes to my side to aid me as I walk to the window of my room. I look out the window and almost expect to see hundreds of leaf ninja lined up to kill one of us. Madara comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist as we both look out the window.
I see on frown on Kiba's lips from the side of my eye, but I ignore it. He didn't have the right to be jealous now after everything he'd put me through in the beginning. Kiba was watching us for a while before turning away and sitting down. He abandoned me when I really needed him and when I thought he was with me through thick and thin. I was wrong. He allowed Madara to manipulate him into abandoning me and saying those horrible things. Madara may have been involved but Kiba could've easily refused his selfish threats.
I didn't need to let this bother me anymore and I look away from Kiba. It has been done now and nothing can ever fix that, so we just have to keep moving forward. Even if Kiba clearly didn't want to.
