They had been home 2 weeks. Josie was loving being a mom. Hannah slept almost all night and she only cried when hungry or wet. She loved her family. Dom was a great father. He didn't leave everything on Josie. Josie laid Hannah down for a nap and did the dishes. She then went to take out the garbage.
"I hear congratulations are in order."
Josie knew that voice she turned around slowly.
"Thought I'd give them in person."
He had the gun pointed right at her head.
"Inside."
Josie turned and walked into the house standing in the kitchen while Toby shut the door behind him.
"Looks like life has been pretty good for you Jo."
"What do you want Toby?"
"Isn't it obvious? You."
Her cell was laying on the counter. "Pick it up dial Dom."
Josie did as she was told.
"Put it on speaker."
She did.
"Hey baby, how's my girls?"
"Dom?" There was panic in her voice.
"Baby are you okay?"
"She's just fine. I see she lost the baby weight pretty fast."
"Who the hell is this?"
"Think real hard."
Dom was quiet then it clicked. "Toby."
"You remembered, how nice."
"Josie are you okay?"
Toby motioned for her to answer. "Yes. I'm okay."
"What do you want Toby?"
Toby laughed. "To see you suffer. She's always been mine, Torretto. I'm just taking back what's mine."
"You touch her. I'll kill you like I did your brother."
"How is threatening me a smart idea?"
"He has a gun on me Dom."
Dom was furious. Brian was listening too. "You wanna settle this? Man up and come to me!"
"I will. I got some things to handle first."
Josie saw the way he was looking at her and she wrapped her sweater tighter around her.
"Here's how it's gonna go Torretto. I'm gonna take Josie with me. I won't touch your daughter even though I should. I'm taking Jo though and you're not gonna follow. If I see you or cops I'm shooting her in the head. Got that!"
Dom's eyes were black with rage.
"Yes."
"Say your goodbyes."
Josie shook her head. "I didn't say goodbye to him when Trevor tried to kill me. I'm not gonna do it now."
"That's your choice. You got a little stronger since the time we were together."
Brian had Nate on the phone. "Man Toby has Jo. We need help. If he sees cops or us he'll kill her. What are our options?"
Dom's who's demeanor shifted. "You messed with the wrong family. I'll be coming for my wife. You better believe that."
"She's not your wife anymore." He hung up and looked at Josie. "Let's go."
"I can't just leave my baby."
He cocked the gun. Josie closed her eyes and walked out the door.
Dom and Brian were in the car headed to Dom's.
Josie was stuck in the car and she watched the house as they drove away.
Dom got to the house and ran inside. Hannah was screaming and crying. He grabbed her up and she settled. He changed her then gave her a binky and laid her back down. Mia came in with Elliott.
"I got the kids. Get her back and finish this."
"Oh I will." He grabbed his shotgun and ammo. Brian had his gun ready to go. Tej and Rome came in after Nate called them and they both were ready to go. Toby wasn't coming out of this.
Nate came in and was loaded up. "I've got the place where he works and is staying. We know he's not dumb enough to go back there. We gotta find a weak link."
"Check his work and ask about friends. Brian and I will go ask around. Everyone keep in contact you find him I wanna know. I wanna be the one to take him out." Dom took charge.
Everyone agreed and left. Brian kissed Mia bye and Dom kissed Hannah.
"I'm bringing mommy back."

Josie watched the town go by. "Where are we going?!"
"You'll see."
He picked up speed and Josie saw the opportunity to get out. She jerked the wheel and he jerked it back. His foot slipped on the gas speeding up. She jerked again taking the car over the curb and down a hill. Toby tried to gain control of the car but it wouldn't stop. It picked up speed and ran straight into a tree.

Dom and Brian rode over to Ethan's garage and headed in.
"Hey Dom." Ethan tried to say hi but Dom grabbed him by the throat and slammed him onto the hood of the car he was working on.
"You got an employee Named Toby. Where's he at?"
Ethan struggled and gasped. "I...I don't know."
A worker came in "Hey man what are you doing?"
"Toby! Where is he?!" Dom asked, squeezing harder.
The worker held his hands up."Man he hangs with Randy Yost."
"Randy?!" Brian asked to make sure he heard him right.
"Yeah."
Dom left go of Ethan and looked at the worker. "Where's Randy?"
"Last I saw him he was heading to Liv's."
The guys all took off to Liv's bar. When they got there Nate went in and brought Randy outside.
"Hey guys what's up?"
"Where's Toby?"
"Toby? I don't know why?"
Dom stood in front of him and pumped the rifle before pointing it at him.
Randy held his hands up. "Man I don't want in this."
"You're in this. He's got Josie, tell me where he is or you die."
"He was heading out of town on the back 90. I don't know where."
"If she dies or he hurts her I'm coming after you."
The guys loaded up and headed out.

The horn blared as Josie came too. Smoke rolled out of the hood of the car. She grabbed her head and sat up. She looked over Toby was unconscious. She pushed her door open and looked around. She looked back at the car. She needed to get out of there. She took off into the woods and headed back the way they came.
Toby sat up and shook his head to clear it. There was blood running in his eyes. He had to crawl out the passenger side and he didn't see Josie anywhere. He saw her footprints though. He grabbed the gun from the floor and headed after her.
Josie ran as fast as she could dodging branches and bushes she tripped over a tree root but got up and kept going, her lungs burning.
"Josie!"
She heard him and picked up her pace.

The guys drove until they saw the tire burnouts in the road. They pulled over and saw the crash. Dom was ahead of everyone.
"Jo?!" He looked into the car and saw nothing.
Nate saw the footprints. "They went that way."
The guys took off towards where the footprints led.
Toby ran with one thing on his mind. Killing her. "Josie! I'm gonna find you!"
She ran till she had to take a break. Breathing hard she looked around for a way to get out of there.
"Josie!"
She couldn't tell where his voice was coming from.
A bullet ricocheted on the tree beside her. She took off running again.
Dom had everyone stop as they heard the gunshot. Then another.
Brian pointed."this way!"
They took off as fast as they could.
Josie had tree branches scratching her face. She almost tripped again when she was tackled from behind.
Toby got her from the side and sat on top of her as she tried to get away. He cocked the gun and she knocked it to the side causing it to go off.
The guys heard the gunshot. They were close.
Josie struggled beneath him and he was having trouble keeping her down. She waited till he moved then kneed him in the crotch. She went to go for the gun but when he moved the gun slipped from his hands. She tried to crawl towards the gun but he kept pulling back towards him.
"Ahhh!" She clawed to get away.
"I'm gonna kill you bitch!"
Dom sent off a shot gaining their attention. Toby pulled Josie up and held her in front of him and pulled a knife out holding it to her throat.
"Dom."
Dom held the gun pointed at Toby. "I got you baby."
"No! I got her!"
"Why don't you put down that knife and I'll put down this gun and we fight it out. You get your shot at me."
Toby threw Josie to the ground, then he put the knife away. Dom tossed his shotgun to Brian.
Josie saw the hand gun and crawled over to it. She picked it up and pointed cocked the gun and pulled the trigger.
Toby felt the bullet in his back. He turned around and looked at Josie who stood up still pointing the gun.
"You bitch."
"I'm tired of you and your family trying to take me out! I'm tired of the assaults on me and the threats! This is me taking back every bit of my life you and Trevor ever took from me!"
He lunged for her and she pulled the trigger again hitting him in the neck. He dropped and choked on his own blood. Josie dropped the gun and Dom grabbed her in his arms. Nate came over and made her look at him.
"Josie are you okay?"
She looked at him and smiled. "I'm great. It's all over."
Tej had called 911 and the ambulance was coming. Josie walked over to Toby and looked down at him.
"You lose."
Toby took a gasp before his eyes rolled back into his head, and his heart stopped.
Dom and the guys took her home while Nate waited for the corner.
Josie got to the house and went straight for Hannah. She picked her up and hugged her. She laid her back down and hugged Mia.
"So what happened?" Mia asked.
Rome sat on the counter. "Toby's dead."
"How?"
"I shot him."
Tej held up 2 fingers. "Twice."
Dom put an arm around her. "She shot him in the neck."
"Ow. Good shot."
"It's finally over. I'm free from him and I took my life back."
"I'm proud of you." Brian said.
Josie felt free. Everything she felt since the attack was finally over. The fear she felt gone. Nate and detectives came over and talked with her and ruled it self defense. She wasn't going to have charges filed against her which eased her mind. After everyone left Josie got a shower and she looked in on her daughter. She smiled. The best thing that had happened to her besides marrying Dom was her daughter. Dom came up and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"You're okay now."
Josie turned around and kissed him. "I'm going to be okay from now on."
"We all are."
They went to bed that night with no wonders of what would happen and no worries about who was coming after them. It was a peaceful sleep.
Dreams of happy futures were what everyone had on their minds now. They were all finally free.
Epilogue:
5 years had passed since Josie killed Troy. She hadn't thought of the day at all. She and Dom had too much going on with the birth of Connor, their son, and the new house. Life just went on. That time of her life was just a memory she never visited. Mia and Brian had their kids to run after, and Rome and Tej were both married with kids on the way. Life moved on for everyone.
Bad things happen and sometimes it may seem hard but to move on is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family and friends. Take the hurt and the pain with you to grow from but remember to be strong.
Josie understood everything now and refused to ever let the past control her future.
