AN: Thanks for the reviews; a bit of happiness in this one :) I will give you a tiny hint... JJ kicks ass in the end :)

Ross had known from the moment Hotch had gotten off that call, that a lot of information had just been presented. And looking over JJ's injured body; Ross didn't have to guess what it was about.

Emily and Hotch had spoken twice more; and Ross knew that each time they spoke, that Hotch was getting angrier and angrier. And that after each call, he would come and check and see how JJ was doing.

But this call was different; the anger was there, but there was something else. And Ross couldn't quite figure it out just yet. Hotch had not said a word to him other then asking how JJ was since just after the first call; since Ross had told him JJ couldn't wait any longer.

And that had been four hours ago; and they were still stranded in the cabin. JJ was still fighting though; and appeared to be stabilizing. But he also knew how JJ operated and it was never by the book; he never knew what was going to happen. JJ could wake up and start conversing as she had been doing just before she had disappeared, she could wake up and be aggressive and agitated or… or she could not wake up. There was so many possibilities and Ross had no choice but to wait until JJ could safely be transferred out and to the hospital.

He took in a deep breath and stood up, walking over to the couch were JJ was, still leaning up against the medic.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Ross asked the man who had been supporting JJ for hours on end.

The man smiled and nodded, "I am fine; worry about her."

"Can I get you anything?" Ross offered.

"Well, a fan would be nice. She is like a little furnace over here." He cringed, shifting his body and readjusting JJ.

Ross nodded and reached over, pressing the back of his hand to JJ's forehead as he dug for the thermometer. She was still burning up despite the medication he was pumping through her. He needed to cool her off; it was getting to the point that he was going to have to start utilizing nonconventional methods; she had already been stripped down and only had a light sheet covering her; she couldn't have anymore medications and he couldn't get her to drink anything.

He didn't want to take her outside until they had to; and when they did, she would have to be bundled up in a heap of blankets. Which was dangerous for her fever; but he couldn't just expose her to the wind and cold which would have horrific effects on her already critical breathing.

His goal, right then, was to get the fever down and her breathing better.

Licking his lips, he found the thermometer and scanned it across JJ's forehead; he cringed instantly. It was heading the wrong way; somehow, it was still going up. "Damn it, JJ." He mumbled, reaching over and turning up the IV drip.

"Ross?" Ross jumped when he heard Hotch's voice.

"Hotch," he acknowledged, trying to figure out what to do next.

"How is she?"

"She's the same as you asked me half an hour ago! She's the same in she desperately needs an ICU; she's the same that if she doesn't get to a hospital soon, she is going to die." He snapped, exhaustion starting to over take him. He stopped instantly and bent down next to JJ; he closed his eyes as he held her hand. He had nothing else he could do but pray for her.

"I need to talk to you about your sister." Hotch said, ignoring the outburst.

"What do you need to know?"

Hotch swallowed, "Talia told Emily about the program and organization that held JJ. She told us that Ian received a transplant…" Hotch paused when he saw the look on Ross' expression; he had figured out where Hotch was going with this.

"No." Ross shook his head; looking back at JJ.

Hotch nodded, "We have them on organ trafficking now; in addition to every other charge. But the autopsy confirmed," Hotch stopped for a moment. "The body that was found.."

Ross sniffed, "was Ian."

"I'm so sorry, Ross." Hotch said softly, not sorry that the man was dead, but for what Ross was experiencing.

Ross looked away, "Thanks Hotch."

"Ross, the pathologist found evidence of a recent transplant; when we confronted Talia she confessed that Ian had received the transplant from JJ." He paused again, knowing it was only going to get worse. "The project then put Ian's failing organ, inside JJ."

"Fuck!" Ross hissed, his anger rising again. "This poor woman, what else could they have done to her!" He gestured to JJ who was mumbling in her sleep. Hotch looked away, "Hotch, what else did they do to her?" This time, Hotch heard pain in Ross' voice.

"Ross, Talia told Emily that Talia herself was experiencing heart failure; that she needed a transplant and that JJ…"

Ross went pale and he shook his head again before stepping over to JJ, "JJ, just me, I won't hurt you kiddo." He soothed, before pulling the sheet away from JJ. He had seen it before, a large scar but had glanced over it remembering how he had to crack her chest open in the ICU months before. He gently traced his finger down the raised scar and took a shuttering breath; he could feel the internal staples. Without saying a word, he turned back to Hotch and nodded his confirmation.

He was about to say something when Hotch's phone buzzed again and he stepped away and Ross could only hope that it was the transport team preparing to make entry.

"Ross?" Ross turned and looked down, he knew that voice.

Instantly, he dropped to his knees and smiled down at JJ. "Yeah, its me and Hotch. We have you," he whispered, brushing a stray strand of hair away from her eyes. "Can I get you anything?" He asked.

JJ nodded, "I'm thirsty," she replied as Hotch walked over. "Hi, Hotch," she coughed and both men froze.

"JJ?" Hotch grinned looking down at her and thinking about Reid's immpecable timing.

"Hotch, water?" She pled.

"JJ," Hotch looked over at Ross who was relazing the same thing. "You can see me?"

JJ looked at him puzzled, "Why couldn't I?" She coughed, "can I have some water?"

Ross shook his head and looked up at Hotch.

"Reid just called, he was talking with Lacey. Lacey explained that they were using eye drops to keep her from escaping. They purposefully induced the blindness so she couldn't escape. But each dose only lasted twelve hours; they kept her on it constantly." He explained.

And Ross didn't know what to say, "JJ, how about some water?" And for the moment, he smiled. Thank God for small favors.
