TIMESKIP: NIGHT
TANJIROU
It had been over a day since Kanao, Mitsuri, and Yushiro were abducted. The Demon Slayers sat in the living room, trying to figure out their next move.
"We've already wasted a day. God knows what they're doing to them!" Obanai shouted. He threw a lamp against the wall. "We need to find them!"
"Obanai, you're not thinking clearly. We don't know where the demons' hideout is, and I'm pretty sure it's not here," Gyomei said. "We have to think this through."
"Does anyone have any ideas?" Shinobu sobbed. Her eyes were red and puffy form crying. Losing two of her friends and her sister had a toll on her. Kanae was in the same condition.
The slayers sadly shook their heads and muttered 'no' in response; no one knew how to handle this.
Tanjirou sat with his head against his sword. The slayer had been blaming himself and haven't slept or eaten since the encounter.
"I already told you guys," he said through clenched teeth. "Let me do what they ask!"
"We refuse to let you become a demon, Tanjirou!" Muichiro yelled. "Now shut up and stay put!"
"They're going to torture and kill them if I don't comply!" he retorted. "Just let me sacrifice myself, please! I can't go on like this!"
"No. There has to be another way to go about this," Sanemi said. "I think it's time that we forget about the Demon Slayer code and take matters into our own hands."
"I have no problem slaying a demon, pregnant or not!"
The slayers nodded in agreement, which made Giyu's eyes widen.
"You guys cannot be serious. We took an oath that we must uphold! If we stoop down to their level, we're no better than them!" Giyu shouted.
Sanemi threw his sword at the wall and stood in front of Giyu's face. "Dude, you sound fucking stupid! You're always on some golden pedestal, talking about upholding a bullshit code. We can't let the demons get away with this. They killed Rengoku, Oyakata-san and his family, and countless innocents! So, what if a demon baby dies in the process? That'll serve them right!"
Sanemi then went to the center of the room and looked at each of the slayers. "Who's ready to slay two certain demons?"
All of the slayers except Tanjirou and Giyu stood up, applauding and cheering for Sanemi.
"Humans will not bend over for demons any longer! The next time we see those beasts, we'll slay them like never before!"
The slayers roared and babbled in agreement.
"We'll send them back to Hell!"
"Let's kill them all!"
"Fuck them!"
Giyu left the living room and Tanjirou covered his ears.
I just want it all to stop.
Suddenly, he heard someone knocking on the door. He lifted his head and stared at the main entrance.
"You guys, I hear someone at the door," he said. The other slayers were too loud, so they didn't hear him. "There's someone at the—never mind!" Tanjirou angrily stood up and went to the door. He peered through the peephole and saw a familiar person.
Yushiro!
Tanjirou opened the door and saw the green-haired demon standing in the doorway.
"You guys, it's Yushiro!" Tanjirou exclaimed. The other slayers stopped talking and looked at the door, Giyu returning to see as well. "You're back!"
Then, Tanjirou let the friendly demon enter the mansion. Without even so much as glancing at him, Yushiro mindlessly walked past him.
Yushiro?
The slayers all gathered around and embraced Yushiro.
"Oh my God, you're back!" Shinobu said. She kissed his forehead while Kanae hugged him.
"Glad you're back, Yushiro."
"I'm so happy you're okay!"
Obanai dashed towards Yushiro and shook his shoulders. "Dude, have you seen Mitsuri? And Kanao of course, but I need to know if you've seen Mitsuri!"
Yushiro stared at Obanai with a blank look for a few moments, then spoke. "I didn't see her, Obanai. I didn't see anyone."
Obanai let out a piercing howl and angrily ran towards the door.
"Wait, Oba—"
"I'm not leaving, Shinobu. I'm just going to sit outside!" he yelled. He then slammed the door behind him.
"I'll check on him," Tengen volunteered. The Sound Pillar went outside to console his companion.
Giyu watched the spectacle from a corner, shaking his head.
"Yushiro, you need to tell us everything that happened," Muichiro said.
Yushiro sighed deeply. "The last thing I remember was that I knocked out, then I awakened in a cave. That's it, I promise. I know it sounds weird, but that's all I know." He turned away, looking disturbed.
"Aw, Yushiro…" Shinobu cooed as she embraced him. "It'll be okay."
The slayers decided to go easy and lay off on the demon. Giyu rolled his eyes and went to his sleeping quarters.
Tanjrou continued staring at Yushiro, noticing that the demon was acting strange. The demon's eyes were much colder than before.
Yushiro, what happened to you…?
MUJŌNA
Mujōna and Muzan were in their bedroom preparing for the next steps of their scheme. The couple had just had a quick session of oral sex, their orgasms subsiding.
"Did you handle the traitor, My Love?" she asked breathlessly. She was putting on a special brassière due to her nipples leaking. Mujōna was nearing birth, so she was lactating.
"Yes. He'll now be a fine traitor on our behalf," Muzan chuckled.
Mujōna stood in the mirror and began altering her appearance. Her slit eyes changed into much rounder and friendlier demon ones, and her horns retracted. She made herself look like a kinder, friendlier version of herself. If one was to see her, they wouldn't have any indication that she was The Queen of Demons; she looked like a common female demon.
"How do I look?" she said as she turned to Muzan. He ogled at her pregnant body and smiled.
"Let me handle this," he said. Muzan then muttered an inaudible incantation that caused her pregnant stomach to vanish temporarily. "This spell will last for less than an hour, so make it quick."
Mujōna touched her flat stomach in amazement. She still felt pregnant and bloated, but her outward appearance was normal. Then, she put on a worn out kimono, made her hair look disheveled, and smudged charcoal powder on her face, making herself look unkempt.
Mujōna looked like an actual prisoner.
"Wish me luck," she said as she kissed Muzan's cheek.
'Kamabisushii, take me to our favorite prisoner.'
'Yes, My Queen.'
MITSURI
Mitsuri hadn't eaten for hours so she was famished and dehydrated. She felt lightheaded and weak, and all she wanted was to sleep for a long time.
"Please…" she whimpered. "Let me go…"
She laid on the floor for what seemed like eternity, until she heard footsteps.
Oh?
Mitsuri then crawled closer to the door and strained to figure out who it was. She heard the sound of a male demon muttering to himself.
"I have to do everything around here… Fine, I'll open it…"
The sound of keys jingling and unlocking her cells filled hope in her heart. The door opened and revealed a large, grotesque male demon, presumably a guard, standing by a young female demon. The female demon was beautiful; with her brown skin, jet-black hair, light pink eyes, and ethereal features. She held a bag in her hands and wore a scruffy kimono.
"Hurry up, miss!" the guard yelled.
"This won't take long, sir. Thank you," the female demon replied. She smiled at Mitsuri, who was on the floor staring back at her with an awestruck expression. The guard handed her a candle, then shut the door. The girl gently placed the candle in a corner and sat on the floor in front of Mitsuri, the candle lightening the cell enough for her to see properly.
"…Who are you?" Mitsuri said.
"Hi, I'm Nise! I was told to bring you something to eat, I bet you're hungry." Nise opened her bag and pulled out a small loaf of bread accompanied with a bottle of water.
Mitsuri hesitated for a few moments, then succumbed. She took the water bottle and finished it in two gulps, then consumed the bread. Mitsuri now felt much better than she did before.
"T-thank you," she said softly, still chewing on the bread. Once she was done, Mitsuri laid back on the floor.
"You're welcome!" Nise exclaimed.
Mitsuri looked into the Nise's eyes; they looked so innocent and full of life. A trustworthy, kind aura emanated from her. While she began to relax, Nise continued to speak to her.
"What's your name?"
"M-Mitsuri," she said softly. The slayer was wary of all demons, besides Yushiro of course.
"That's a pretty name for a pretty girl," Nise laughed. Mitsuri slowly blinked at the female demon. "Look, I know everything seems scary right now, but you have a way out of this."
Mitsuri's eyes widened in shock. "Really? How?"
"Well, it looks like your friend won't deliver in time, so Master was generous enough to give you an offer to save yourself…"
Mitsuri sat up attentively and said, "Tell me, please!"
"…You must become a demon if you want to see your friends again," Nise said dully.
Oh my God.
"No, I can't do that. I refuse to do that! I'm a Demon Slayer!"
"Yeah, I know." Nise turned away for a moment, then looked back. "You know, I was a prisoner here not too long ago. I was so bored, I made power mascara out of rock dust!" she said.
"…Really? H-how did you get out of here?" Mitsuri asked.
"I… I made a deal. I was turned into a demon, as you can tell," she sheepishly laughed.
"Why were you here in the first place?"
Nise's cheerful grin faded away at the question. A melancholic expression was plastered on her face.
"My brother… was a slayer, as well. One day, he killed an important demon, so I was kidnapped. I was told that they would kill him if I didn't comply. In exchange for his life, I became a demon," she said sadly, wiping a few tears from her eyes and smiled weakly. "That's my story!"
"Nise, I'm sorry that happened to you… but I need to get out of here," Mitsuri whispered, glancing at the guard's angry white eyes.
"I understand. The Queen spoke to me and told me a lot of things, Mitsuri…"
"Like what?"
"Like how another pillar was captured two days ago."
Who was captured? It's already been two days? So, I only have one day left to live? Oh my!
"The Serpent Pillar was captured… isn't his name Obin or something?" Nise continued.
Suddenly, Mitsuri's heart felt like it was being stabbed over a million times at the mention of her lover.
Obanai…
"His name is Obanai!" Mitsuri sobbed. "No… please don't hurt him…"
Nise stared at the distraught slayer with a sorrowful look on her face. "I don't know what is planned, but he's currently in custody. Although, The Queen told me that you could save him and yourself by becoming a demon."
Tears well up in Mitsuri's green eyes at the mere thought of Obanai being harmed. "Is he alright? Can I speak to him? Please!" she sobbed. She crawled closer to Nise, pleading.
"I'm going to be honest with you; he's not in good condition. When he was captured, he sustained severe injuries. I heard that he's imprisoned in another dungeon and is being tortured. I'm sorry, Mitsuri."
"No, I don't believe this! You're lying!" Mitsuri shouted. The guard banged on the door again.
"I'm not lying to you, Mitsuri," Nise whispered. She then opened her bag and pulled out a scrap of a white bandage that was covered in blood.
No.
The bandage looked just like the ones Obanai wore.
No!
"Oh my God, I can't handle this! I can't breathe!" Mitsuri cried out. Her heart raced and the world began to spin; she was having a panic attack.
Obanai may be dead and it's all my fault!
Nise watched as Mitsuri crumbled to a mess on the floor. Outwardly, she had a solemn expression but inwardly, she was grinning mischievously. The demon had casted a spell that confuses and manipulate its victims.
"Mitsuri, get a hold of yourself. You can save him by giving Their Majesties what they want. Here," Nise said as she opened her bag again. She pulled out a miniature glass bottle that was filled with a red liquid. The bottle gleamed in the candle's light. "This is Master's blood. You must consume it quickly."
I can't let Obanai die…
Mitsuri reluctantly took the bottle and opened it. The potent scent of blood filled her nostrils. She stared at the vial as tears poured out of her eyes.
This is for you, Obanai!
"W-will it hurt?" she stuttered, trembling.
"Only for a second. After this, you'll be able to see him again," Nise assured her.
I'll love you forever, Obanai.
Gathering enough courage, Mitsuri swiftly took a sip from the vial. In less than a second, she dropped the bottle on the floor; it shattered upon contact.
The slayer jerked and convulsed rapidly. She fell on the floor, writhing in agony.
As her vision began to fade, Nise kneeled beside her with a pleasant smile on her face.
"You made the right choice, Mitsuri."
Then everything went black.
