After the whole event played out with the Gatekeeper (known as Zebro), he explained the situation with the watchdog name Mike and how it was ordered to kill every intruder. A couple of questions were exchanged from the boys as they asked how the Gatekeeper did not get hurt. The catch for Mike to not hurt him, was because the key that the two men used earlier: is only used for intruders. Once he further explained the situation, it occurred to everyone that the old man is not a gatekeeper. He is more of a custodian who cleans up after Mike's mess.
Once Zebro introduced everyone to Mike and given everyone a break down of how his position. Upon entering the servant's quarters, Zebro also introduced them to his co-worker name Seaquant. He was an interesting man who trusted Zebro's judgment if he let them into their home. No matter how much Seaquant and Zebro tried to explain to Gon that it was going to be challenging to get to Killua. Gon was firm on his words and refused to leave until he at least sees him once. Vividus smiled, happy to see that Killua obtained a great friend such as Gon.
Before Vividus and the others were invited to come back to Zebro's quarters, the Kurta woman wanted to test out her strength and attempted to open the Testing Gates. With Ease, she managed to open at least Four Gates. Everyone was shocked by the small figure's strength, especially Kurapika. He didn't realize that his older sister became suddenly strong over the last few years during their time apart. The blonde was curious about what Vividus had to do or train with in order to build up her strength.
At the table, Gon sat beside Zebro, while Vividus sat between Kurapika and Leorio. As he was explaining more about the estate and was moved by Gon's words. Zebro offered something to the boys that even Seaquant was a bit hesitant. "Listen Gon, Why don't you three train then?" Zebro said, looking over at the boys and then at Vividus. "Out of the four of you, only Vividus was the one who can open the gates without help. However, if you want more of the family's respect, all of you need to pass through the gate. The three of you are allowed to work together as a team to open the gate: but sadly, Vividus cannot assist you three."
Leorio pouted, "Why not? We were not attacked by Mike when we passed through the gate with you. Why can't we do the same with Vividus?"
Zebro shook his head, "That was only because you were with me. If you only rely on Vividus's strength to help make your way through the Zoldyck Estate, you will not last long. I am sure the young lady could only do so much for you guys."
Kurapika looked over at Vividus, "What are your thoughts?"
Picking up the very heavy teacup, she drank it with ease. "I have no issues with this. If anything, this would help you three grow stronger."
Zebro smiled at Vividus's comments. "Thank you, Vividus, with that being said, With a bit of training, it should be possible. How about it?"
Gon was quiet for a bit; he stared at the table deep in thought before he responded. "I do not like the idea of being tested..." Then looked over at Kurapika.
Kurapika nodded his head, started the middle of Gon's Sentence. "But if there is no other way..."
Leorio finished the last of their words. "We will just have to do it!"
Zebro smirked, getting off his seat and started to go through the closet. "Perfect, during this training: I need you all to put this on."
Taking out three vests, he would hand one each one on the three boys. Once the boys have the vest in their possession, Leorio struggled to stand up due to how heavy they are. "How is this so heavy?!"
Looking over, Vividus would smirk and watch the boys struggle to hold the vests. Zebro would hold it out and started to explain, "Each vest weighs Fifty kilograms, Please wear it at all times, except while you sleep." Holding up the vest with a warm smile, he grinned at the boys. "As you get used to it, I will make the vests heavier."
Leorio groaned.
At that point, training has begun for the boys. After Vividus finished her tea, she opened the door and started to make her way outside. "I'm going to relax on my own for a bit. If you guys need my help: call me."
"Woah, hold up!" Leorio said, pointing at Vividus weakly. "How come she doesn't need to train with us!"
"In case you forgot," Zebro said, pointing at the Kurta woman. "She opened the fourth gate. Vividus doesn't need any training. While you guys are struggling, she has no problem handling the items in this house. She is excused."
Leorio felt an angry vein popped out of his head, seeing that Vividus gave him a cat-like grin. "Exactly, I had my fair share of training. Have fun~"
~.:x_X_x:.~
It's been a few days now since Leorio and Kurapika have been training hard. However, due to Gon's injuries from the final exam, the poor kid wasn't able to train as much as he wanted. Whenever he did try and train, he would get scolded by the two older boys.
Whenever it was night time, Gon would sneak outside and train on his own. Doing his best to stay on top of his training. During that time, Vividus would conceal herself and watch Gon train from afar, making sure that the injured boy doesn't get hurt.
Vividus was impressed by how hard Gon is working to was to catch up with the others. Gon didn't want to be left behind. He felt like this whole training business is a waste of time to see his friend. She doesn't blame him for feeling that way.
Every night he trains, he is always determined to do what he can to reach Killua. Every time he falls over, Vividus would always look at his injured arm. She frowned, 'How long is it going to take for his arm to heal?' She asked herself, looking down at her palm that has a scar. 'Should I?'
Even though that's how Gon feels, every night he would sneak out and train. Always doing his best to become stronger so he can bring Killua back. Despite the short time period, Gon and Killua became really close...that alone made Vividus relieved to see her kiddo finally made a real friend.
Despite his past and his family history, Gon never once looked away from Killua as a person. He accepted him for who he is. In this world, that is something not many people are willing to do. After observing him for the past few days, she's finally starting to understand why people are willing to protect Gon, why Kurapika and Leorio didn't hesitate on helping Gon bring Killua back.
After sitting by for so long, Vividus decided to help. "You know you're not supposed to be training, right?" Vividus called out from above. Causing Gon to fall over from his handstand.
"V-Vividus-nee! How long have you been sitting here?!" Gon exclaimed, looking up at Vividus in embarrassment.
Jumping down from the tree branch, she looked over at Gon with a small smirk. "Long enough."
Sitting down in front of Gon, she would cross her legs and look at the boy. "Remove your bandages."
Blinking a few times, Gon looked at Vividus very confused. Placing himself in front of Vividus with a questionable look on his face. "Why?"
"Because," She said, taking out a switch-knife she asked to borrow from Zebro. Placing the sharp blade on the palm of her hand. "I'm going to heal you, do you trust me?"
Gon looked at the knife nervously, not liking where this is going. However, considering everything that they've gone through together and how Killua and Kurapika trust her with their lives. He figured something is special about her.
Taking off his bandages, it would show his broken arm and a couple of cuts from the battle against Hanzo. He looked up at Vividus, nodding his head as he is now ready for whatever Vividus has in mind. "I trust you."
Smiling softly, Vividus was happy to see that Gon trusts her. Implying enough pressure to her palm, she made a small cut on her hand. At first, Gon was about to protest against this. However, he was thrown off when he saw that Vividus's eyes we're no longer hazel-grey eyes. But now replaced with a warm pair of scarlet eyes.
Gon had only seen Kurapika's when he felt negative emotions or when he's truly upset about something. But seeing his older sister's eyes in a more pleasant setting was stunning to him. Seeing the scarlet eyes in a whole nother light made his heart flutter.
Feeling the energy around her, she closed her eyes and placed her hand over Gon's arm. The aura around her glowing green. Looking down, all Gon could see is her blood flowing out of her palm. Starting to attach itself to Gon's injured arm.
"After I do this," Vividus started, opening one eye and looking at the boy. "I won't be able to wake up for two days. When I wake up, I expect you and the boys to retrieve Killua by then."
"Huh?! Why two days? You're supposed to come with us to bring Killua back!" Gon asked worriedly, frowning as he isn't liking what's happening. "No, whatever you're doing please stop! You have to come with us to bring Killua back!"
"Unfortunately using this ability has conditions," Vividus said, giving him a reassuring smile. Confusing the poor boy because he had no idea what she was talking about, "I know I'm supposed to come with you guys, but I trust you'll bring Killua back. I have faith in you all."
Before Gon could say anything else, the blood attached to his arm suddenly started to glow brightly. It was so bright that Gon had to look away on how blinding it was. Once the glowing finally disappeared, the boy looked down to see his arm was fully restored. No more injuries, no more pain. He lifted his arm up and started to move it around, surprised to see that the damage that was once there: suddenly disappeared, his arm was fully healed.
Looking over at Vividus, he was about to ask her so many questions on what just happened. However, by the time he looked over. Vividus was passed out on the grass, sleeping peacefully after she performed that ability.
He was amazed that he didn't realize that something magical existed in this world. As much as the blood part was unsettling to him, he looked at Vividus with sparkling eyes, Impressed and in awe with her.
Ripping a piece of fabric from his arm holder, he wrapped her palm to cover up the blood. Lifting her up from the ground. He would gently carry her back to their bedroom and placed her on top of her bed. Taking off her shoes and tucked Vividus into bed.
"Thak you so much. Now I'm able to train with Kurapika and Leorio without holding back." Gon said, smiling down at her. "I promise you that I'll bring Killua back, Vividus-nee."
After saying those words, Gon leaned in and gave Vividus a friendly kiss on the cheek. He saw Vividus shift a bit, and a small smile appeared on her lips. Feeling happy, Gon decided it was best for him to go to bed. He as a long day ahead of him to train with Leorio and Kurapika.
Not only he has to bring back Killua, but he now has a promise to keep to Vividus.
~.:[Time Skip]:.~
Slowly opening her eyes, Vividus the sun shining into her line of sight. Groaning in annoyance in the process. Letting out a small hiss, Vividus would lift her arm up to shield the sun from her eyes.
"So bright..." Vividus mumbled to herself, lifting herself up from her bed and stretching out her body. She could see that she is in the servant's quarters where Zebro and Seaquant live.
Hearing a door creak opened, she would turn her attention to see the middle-aged man standing there. Having a tray in his hand with a bowl of water and a headcloth inside it. Smiling brightly to see the platinum-blonde has finally awoken.
"Ah! Good morning Vividus!" He chirped, walking over to her bedside and placed the tray on the nightstand. "Rest well, I hope?"
Returning a small smile, she would nod her head in response. "Yes! I feel a lot better, actually." She said, looking around the room. "How long have I been out for?"
"Exactly two days," he explained, pulling a nearby chair and sitting by her side. "The boy's just left a few hours ago to go and save Master Killua. I will admit, I was surprised to see that you weren't able to join them. Did something happen to you?"
Laughing nervously, Vividus would scratch the side of her cheek. "I healed Gon. Unfortunately due to it's...conditions. It would cause me to go out of commission for a minimum of two days." She said, not wanting to explain the full details of her Heal Pulse ability.
Holding his chin in thought, he would nod his head in understanding. "I see, that is an impressive nen ability then if that may be the case. Why did you end up healing Gon?"
"It's simple, Zebro-san," Vividus said, "I wanted him to open the gates without any problems. Plus, it was something I should've done a long time ago but didn't have the chance." She looked out the window, watching the birds fly by. "Besides, I have faith in them that they'll bring Killua back."
"May I ask what is your relationship with Master Killua?" Zebro asked, "Since you arrived, you weren't exactly much of a talker."
She chuckled a bit, "Sorry, I just didn't have much to say at the time." Vividus replied. "In terms of answering your question...I encountered Killua a couple of years ago."
Twiddling her thumbs, she would look down at her hands. Smiling gently as she remembered the Zoldyck boy when she first met him at the Candy Shop. "I met him during my time at Heavens Arena. He was just a small boy when I met him. He was truly an interesting kid! He thought he could take me down...oh boy, he had another thing coming."
She laughs wholeheartedly, remembers training him during their sparring matches to help him get stronger. It was cut short when Zebro looked at her with wide eyes. "If I may ask...do you happen to have a name when you competed at Heavens Arena?"
Looking over at Zebro, she was about to open her mouth and say what it was. But suddenly, a familiar boy's voice cut her off. "She was known as Vivi the Death Eater, the youngest competitor in Heavens Arenas History."
Blinking a few times, both Zebro and Vividus looked at the entranceway of the bedrooms. Only to see Killua at the doorway. Leaning on the side with his arms cross. Smiling brightly, Vividus felt tears starting to form in her eyes.
Jumping out of bed, she ran over to Killua with open arms. As soon as she opened her arms, Killua jumped forward and returned the hug. Tackling her into the ground as they both laughed together. Zebro was very entrained to see how the two interacted with each other. But decided not to say anything because he didn't want to interrupt their reunion.
"Kiddo! You're really here!" Vividus exclaimed, not wanting to let go of the white-haired child.
"Onee-chan! I can't breathe!" He breathed, looking up at Vividus was an embarrassed look on his face.
Laughing, she would shake her head and loosen her grip. Leaning down, she would plant a friendly kiss on top of his head. Stilling having one arm wrapped around him and using the other to ruffle his head. "Oh hush, accept my love."
Killua pouted, "I heard from Gon that you healed him...you used Heal Pulse, didn't you?"
"I did," She replied, tilting her head to the side. "Is there an issue?"
"Yes! You baka-nee!" He exclaimed, wiggling his hand out and poked the side of her cheek. "You know how dangerous that ability is! Why did you use it?!"
Vividus shrugged her shoulders, "Because I wanted too, Gon would've been put in a vulnerable situation if I didn't heal him." She explained, using her finger to poke his forehead. "Besides, Gon kept his problem and brought you back to me. So it was worth it."
Killua stared at her, caught off by her kind words."You...really think I'm worth it?"
Vividus nodded her head, wrapping her arms around the boy once more and snuggled into him. "You are worth putting my life at risk for, Kiddo."
Hearing a couple of people snickering, Vividus looked up to see Gon, Kurapika and Leorio enter the room. Feeling her smile beam towards them, she slowly got up from the ground while helping Killua up.
Walking towards Gon, she would ruffle Gon's spiky hair. "Mission success huh?"
Gon nodded his head, giving Vividus a thumbs up. "Mission success!"
