Thorin's POV. I walked to where Laila was sleeping. Fili was in bed and Kili was with her. Kili was sitting in the chair next to the bed as I enter.
"Kili. Go get something to eat. I'll stay with her." I said. Kili looked shocked. I hadn't sat with her the couple weeks she was out.
"You sure, uncle." Kili said.
"I'm sure. Go." I said. Kili got up and quickly went to find Bombur and get something to eat. I sat down in the chair next to her. Color seemed to be coming back to her checks. She wasn't as pale as she was after she saved Fili.
"I am sorry for how I treated you when I was under the gold sickness. I shouldn't have struck out in anger. You were trying to protect me and my nephews when you had no obligation. I want you and Fili happy and for you to stay in Erebor. I would be honored to have a Child of Valar in the family." I said, taking her hand. It was warm. "Please wake up. Your one is worried and we all are worried about you."
"I forgave ye before you joined the battle." A horse voice said. I looked up at her face. Her eyes were open and she was looking at me. "Ye were not yourself."
"Laila." I said with a smile.
"Uncle. I'm..." Kili dropped his plate of food seeing Laila awake. "Thank Mahal."
"Go get Fili." I ordered.
Laila's POV. My throat was dry. I was surprised to see Thorin sitting beside me and not Fili.
"Where's Fili?" I ask as Thorin help me sit up and lean against the pillows.
"I sent him to bed. He got no sleep for a day." Thorin said. Running feet came and I looked up to see Fili appear in the door.
"Thank Mahal." Fili said, running over and hugging me. I returned the hug as Kili came in, grumbling of his food. I hug him close.
"Thank Valar yer alive." I said.
"Thanks to you. I owe you." Fili said.
"Ye owe me nothing." I said, touching his face. Fili pressed a kiss to my lips as we kiss.
"Ahem." Thorin said. We pull away and look at him. "You still have my permission to court." Fili and I looked at each other and smiled. He still had my courting braid in his hair. He quickly braided my hair and put his bead in. I sigh in relief. The door burst open and the Company ran in with my brothers. Kili must have announced I was awake when he went to get Fili. I was engulfed in hugs.
"Time to celebrate." Bofur called. The dwarves disappear so I could get dressed. I found girl dresses that would fit me. I put on a durin blue one and went out to join my friends. Bilbo was happy to see me. Fili and I curled up in front of the fire together. Kili was sitting in front of us. Fili had his arm around me as he smoked his pipe and I had a mug of ale in my hands as the dwarves drank and talked.
"So when is Thorin getting crowned?" I ask, looking up at Fili.
"Soon as the dwarves from the Blue Mountains come. You will be able to meet my mother." Fili said. I smile. He pressed a kiss to my forehead. We survived the Battle for Erebor. Now we could look forward to the future.
