Chapter 20
Ever since that day, things were back to normal in the Manor and as well as in Gotham. Robin can be seen at night, cackling as she leaped over buildings on her patrols with Batman. Their recent mission against Ra's al Ghul didn't go as planned and because of that Ra's sent out a monster known as Clayface out to the city of Gotham. Ever since then, the duo has been trying to take down Clayface and trying to find where he is spending every night out on patrol in search of him.
Dixie yawned for the fifth time that morning as she tied her hair in a ponytail since she hardly had the time to fix her hair after returning as Robin, she started tying her hair even to school so that no one would recognize her because of her unruly hair as Robin.
Glancing at the clock, she grabbed her phone from her bed stand and made her way down to the living room where she sees Jason playing on his Switch on the floor while Tim sat on a chair, reading a book, their oldest brother nowhere to be found.
"Where are you going?" Tim asked, looking up from his book after noticing her going down the stairs.
"I have a shift at the orphanage today, I'll be back after!" the thirteen-year-old said as she rushed out the door. "See you guys later!"
Alfred was already waiting for her outside the door, ready to drop her off. Sending him a grateful smile she entered the car and Alfred drover her to the orphanage.
"Same time I supposed?" the butler asked, looking at her through the rear mirror.
"Yup," the ebony nodded.
The drive to the orphanage was smooth and a few minutes later Dixie found herself walking in the orphanage ready to start her shift.
After spending some time with the kids, Dixie found herself cleaning up some art supplies with Adrian as the younger ones were off to take their afternoon naps and the rest going to study at the library.
"So you're telling me that you just decided to, I don't know, laugh at your dying brother?" Adrian laughed.
"It's his fault!" Dixie laughed as well. "I told him that it was a bad idea to prank Tim by dying his shampoo but no, he didn't believe me."
Adrian laughed harder, placing the leftover popsicle sticks back in the designated cup holder. "So what happened to Tim?"
"He had to go to work with his hair dyed pink for like, the three days before the dyed completely washed off," Dixie chuckled.
"I would pay money to have seen that," Adrian joked before throwing away the last of the glitters back. "We done cleaning the place?"
"I think so unless one of the kids decided to stick some stickers on the walls again," Dixie nodded as she glanced around the room making sure that everything was all clean. "Yup, Dawn didn't start redecorating the walls again."
Adrian laughed before smiling at her nervously. "Hey Dixie, can I ask you a question?"
Dixie raised an eyebrow at this. "Since when have you started asking for my permission to ask me things?" she joked. When the blond just blushed, she laughed. "I'm joking, go shoot."
"Um, okay," Adrian said nervously, scratching the back of his head. "I've been wanting to ask you this for a while but I keep backing out but… maybe… you wanna… go on a date with me?"
Dixie couldn't help but blink a few times, not processing what the blond asked. "Like a date date?"
"Yeah, wait are there different types of dates?" Adrian asked in shock which made Dixie chuckle.
"I don't think so," Dixie answered. "But sure, how does next Saturday sound?"
"Great! I know this diner that you'll love!" Adrian smiled.
"Two o'clock sound good to you?" Dixie laughed at the other's excitement.
"Yeah, that would be just fine, I can't wait," Adrian smiled softly, his excitement toning down.
"Well we better head to the library, Sasha might need some help with math," Dixie chuckled. Adrian nodded and the two made their way to the library.

Sunday passed by and Dixie found her self eating lunch with Brandon once again, the redhead asking if things at home were better.
"Yeah, things are much better now back in the Manor," Dixie answered. "Jason promised to play some Smash with me after we finish our homework."
"That's great to hear," Brandon smiled.
Before the two can continue their conversation, Adrian came over to their table.
"Mind if I sit here?" the blond asked.
Brandon stared at him questioning but nodded. "Sure thing."
"Thanks," Adrian smiled before sitting down beside Dixie. "I won't be here long, just waiting for a friend."
"That's fine," Dixie smiled. "How's your dad?"
"He's doing better," Adrian answered. "The doctor said he cast take off the cast by the end of the week."
"That's great!" Dixie smiled.
"What happened?" Brandon asked in concern.
Adrian waved his hand. "Nothing to worry about, he just sprained his hand after carrying a box too heavy for him. Ah, seems like Sander's done, well it was nice talking to the two of you! Oh, and Dixie, can't wait for Saturday!" the blond smiled before leaving the two.
When the blond was out of sight, Brandon looked at Dixie seriously.
"What does he mean by Saturday?" Brandon asked.
Dixie chuckled nervously, "Well you see, he asked me out on a date."
"Dixie! Your dad is going to kill you when he finds out," Brandon said.
"No, he won't," Dixie sighed, taking a bite out of the apple she had. "'Cause he ain't going to know that it's a date, I'll just tell him that I'm just going to study with a friend."
"But when he and your brother find out," Brandon argued.
"Then I'll be grounded and Adrian would be murdered," Dixie joked. "They won't find out."
The warning bell rang, signaling the end of lunch and the two of them heading off to continue classes.
"Well, I hope your right, I won't be able to help you when they do," Brandon sighed.
