Chapter 24: T or D with our kidnappers.
Katsuki Bakugou's POV.
I was surrounded by blue, and I didn't like it one bit. I was scared, sure. I was just walking through the forest, when suddenly I'd been surrounded by blue. The world spun, and suddenly I could see again. I was still at the forest, but someone was holding my neck. I didn't move. I saw Nico out of the corner of my eye. He had red eyes, and talons. Oh shit. I looked up, and saw Deku.
"Deku! Get out of here!" I yelled. Even if I died, I would not have the nerd dying too. He didn't listen, and ran at us. Thankfully, we were pulled through before he got there.
We came out in a bar. the person holding Nico suddenly let go, as if he'd been electrocuted. I watched in horror as Nico the demon turned his red gaze on me. he pounced, and I expected to die. Instead, he'd pounced on my captor. the man fell back with a cry of pain, a hand over his left eye. Nico growled, and stood protectively in front of me. it was rather strange. The one with patches on his face had his mouth in a perfect 'o'. he turned on the man wearing a circus costume.
"What the hell Compress?! We had direct orders not to touch Nico!" he yelled. Wait, what? Someone came downstairs. It was Shigaraki. He was his usual hand adorned self. He looked at Nico, and gasped.
"What the actual fuck is he doing here?!" he yelled. Nico turned to him, and growled. His claws were in front of him in a defensive manner. I was still shaking slightly, but it seemed that Nico wasn't presently interested in killing me, and I'd like it to stay that way. After the cafeteria incident, I never wanted to be on Nico's bad side ever again.
"Ok, calm down Nico. We're not going to hurt you or young Bakugou." The portal man -Kurogiri I think his name was- told the demonic teen. Nico just growled. Shigaraki stepped forward, hands out in an appeasing manner. Nico snapped his teeth at him.
"Nico, calm down. I promise not to hurt Bakugou, if you just calm down." the hand adorned person told the demon. I shuddered as another growl was ripped form Nico's throat. I found my voice.
"Please calm down Nico, you're scaring me." I whispered. The demon turned to me, and I saw that he had slits for pupils. He shook his head a few times.
"Please Nico, for me. calm down." I tried. His features softened, and his claws disappeared. The teen swayed on his feet, and I reached out and steadied him on instinct.
Nico's POV.
"Please Nico, for me. calm down." Katsuki said, real fear in his eyes. I shook the shadows off, and swayed on my feet from the sudden return to my own body. Katsuki reached out, and steadied me. after a moment, I pulled away from his hold, and glared at Tomura.
"I'm going to ask it once, and only once. Why the Fuck am I here?! We had a deal Shigaraki!" I yelled. Tomura flinched. Dabi stepped forward, and I snarled at him.
"Mr. Compress didn't realize that he took you. He thought that you could be a useful asset. He didn't know that you were you." Dabi explained. I growled at the person in question, before turning back to Tomura.
"Also, why Katsuki?" I asked,
"He showed incredible power at the sports festival, and a great deal of pride. We thought that we could use that to our advantage." Tomura explained. I sighed, and ran a hand through my hair, before turning to my classmate.
"You're probably super confused right now." I said, and he blew up.
"Well no Shit! I get kidnapped, and you know our freaking kidnappers! No wonder I'm confused!" he yelled. I gave him a sad smile.
"Katsuki, meet my friends. Guys, this is Katsuki Bakugou, he's one of my few friends at UA." I saw the look he sent me, and winced.
"Your friends are villains?" he asked in a deceptively low voice. I flinched.
"Well, I didn't know they were villains when we met. We met a long time ago. I kind of live here." I said, wincing when Katsuki glared at me with hate.
"And you haven't told the teachers have you?" he asked. I sighed.
"No. they're my friends. That actually listen to me. the teachers at UA tried to dig up my past, even though I told them multiple times that my past should stay buried. Shigaraki and I have a deal. I leave him and his work alone, he leaves me and my friends alone." I glared at the man in question, and he lowered his head impishly.
"I knew the villains were going to attack, but I didn't know when or how. I also didn't know why. I didn't tell them anything. They only informed me of the attack so that I could keep my friends safe." I explained. Bakugou looked hurt, betrayed, and angry. He sat on the floor suddenly, and glared at the corner. I sighed, and sat at the bar. I groaned, and banged my head into it a few times.
Why me? I looked at the wall of drinks, and summoned a bottle of whiskey. The other members of the vanguard action squad sent me inquisitive looks. I flipped them off, and sat next to Bakugou. I sat the bottle on the floor, and summoned two glasses.
"Want some?" I asked, and poured myself a glass. He looked at me strange before shrugging. I poured him some too. I knocked mine back, ignoring the looks I was getting. Katsuki took a tentative sip of his own. He didn't immediately spit it back out so I guess that was a good thing. We just sat there in silence for a minute.
"So, what do you plan to do?" I asked.
"I don't know Nico. I should tell the teachers, but you're my friend. I know everyone has a reason for what they do, and I'm sure you have one too. If you promise me that I'll get the full story later, I'll keep your secrets. We'll wait for someone to come and rescue us, and until then we'll play along." He said. I smiled.
"Thanks. I really appreciate that." I told him. then, I stood, and offered him my hand. he took it.
"Let's play a game!" I decided. The others looked a bit skeptical, so I shadow traveled them into a circle. A bottle of Vodka, and a shot glass was in the middle of the circle.
"We're going to play truth or dare. How this works, is either you do as you are asked, or you take a shot of vodka. Got it?" I asked. they all nodded. I smiled widely. "Great! I'll start!" I turned to Toga. "Truth or dare?" I asked.
"Truth." She answered. I pouted a bit, and thought.
"Okay! I've got it! If you had to kiss one person in this circle, who would it be?"
"Hmm," she said, and gave us all a once over. "You." She decided. I faked gagging, and Bakugou looked disgusted.
"Ok then. Now it's your turn Toga."
"Ok! Mr. Compress, truth or dare?" she asked. the man in question looked at her.
"Truth." He replied.
"Ooh! What's your favorite color?" she asked. I rolled my eyes. Typical Toga.
"Uh, Green." He looked a little confused. "Dabi, truth or dare?" he asked.
"Dare." Dabi replied. I grinned like the Cheshire cat. Finally! Some action.
"Uh, I dare you to sing I'm a little tea pot at the top of your lungs." He replied. I busted out laughing. What the hell. Dabi flipped him off, and took a shot of Vodka. We all pouted.
"Bakugou, truth or dare?" he asked my schoolmate. Katsuki glared at him.
"Truth." He replied. I pouted at him. he glared at me.
"Ok, why don't you want to be a villain?" Dabi asked. oof.
"Because I've always wanted to be a hero. And not just any hero, the best hero. I'm not giving up my dream just because you kidnapped me." Bakugou said. I let out a small laugh.
"Well, that happened." I said, and smirked.
"Uh, ok. Um, Shigaraki, truth or dare?" Katsuki said, looking a little out of place. Tomura glared at me. as if asking why didn't kill me already.
"Dare." He said. I could appreciate that. Katsuki looked at a loss.
"Um, uh." He looked at me. I smirked.
"Anything is allowed." I told him. he looked even more confused.
"Uh, I dare you to…" he trailed off. "I dare you to disintegrate a bottle of scotch." He said. Tomura had the perfect look of exasperation on his face. I shadow traveled a bottle of scotch of the shelf, and Tomura turned the outside, and the contents to dust.
"Nico, truth or dare?" Shigaraki asked me.
"Hmm, Dare." I decided. Tomura pouted.
"Ok. I dare you to take your shirt off." He said. I went bright red, and downed a shot of vodka.
"Aww, that would've been funny!" Dabi said, a laugh in his eyes. I calmly flipped him off.
"Twice, truth or dare?" I asked.
"Dare." He replied.
"Ok! I dare you to do the macarena!" I told him. Twice stood, and we got a beautiful presentation of the macarena. Then, he sat back down. we all clapped.
"Ok, Dabi, truth or dare?" Twice asked.
"Dare." Dabi replied.
"I dare you to tickle Shigaraki." He said. Dabi grinned, and Shigaraki sent him a slightly scared look.
"You wouldn't." he said. Dabi's grin grew, and he pounced on Tomura, tickling him mercilessly. The rest of us were all laughing at poor Tomura. After a few minutes, he let up, and Tomura's gaze almost bored a hole through Dabi's head.
"Toga, truth or dare?" Dabi asked.
"Dare." She said. Dabi grinned.
"I dare you to turn into Shigaraki." He said. Toga looked at Tomura. He sighed, and nodded. She gave a joyful cry, and pounced at the blue-haired man. She happily bit his neck, and drank some of his blood. I put my hand on my face, and created a mask of shadows. I glared at Dabi, and he winced.
"Sorry." He whispered. I shrugged. She finished, and took a step back, before turning into Shigaraki. Since they were about the same size, she left her clothes on. She now had two sets of clothes on. She smiled, and it looked so weird on Shigaraki.
"I shall decay everything!" she announced theatrically in a perfect imitation of Tomura's voice. We all busted out laughing, and Toga reverted back to her normal self. Katsuki looked torn between laughing, and screaming. I pushed his shoulder lightly, and he smiled a bit.
"Kurogiri, truth or dare?" Toga asked.
"I'm not playing." He announced. I pouted.
"But Ky." I whined. He sighed.
"Fine. Truth." He said.
"Do you actually have a body under there?" she asked. he sighed.
"Yes, I do." He replied. well, he did answer the question. "Bakugou, truth or dare?" he asked, in a very bored sounding tone.
"Dare." Bakugou said. Go him! he found his courage.
"I dare you to say something nice about Izuku Midoriya." oh dam. That was harsh. Katsuki growled.
"He has nice eyes." He growled out. I burst out laughing.
"Oh, my gods Katsuki! You could have said anything at all about our cinnamon roll, and you compliment his eyes?!" I asked, doubled over in laughter. Bakugou exploded the floor next to me. I laughed harder. Gods, I hadn't laughed this much since the USJ.
"Nico, truth or dare?" Katsuki asked.
"Dare. I'm not telling you anything." I decided.
"Alright. I dare you to kiss Shigaraki." He said evilly. I gasped.
"Are you sure you don't want to be a villain? That's harsh Kacchan." He glared at me when I called him Kacchan. I sighed, and shadow traveled to behind Tomura. I gave him a kiss on the cheek, and shadow traveled back to my spot next to Katsuki and Dabi.
"Happy now?" I asked. my blush matched Tomura's.
"Super." He said. I flipped him off, and looked around the group.
"Compress, truth or dare?" I asked.
"Truth." He replied. hmm.
"Have you always been blind, or just when it comes to me?" yep. that's me. burning him during a friendly game of T or D.
"Oof." Shigaraki said.
"I'm not blind!" he said, affronted. I smirked.
"You sure?"
A few hours of T or D later, Katsuki and I were both thoroughly drunk. I stood, and pulled him up with me.
"Tomura, we will be borrowing your room." I stated, and shadow traveled the two of us upstairs. I locked the door with shadows, and created a second bed. I doubted Bakugou would appreciate waking up next to me when he remembered that I was gay AF. I put him on the summoned bed, and fell asleep on Tomura's.
I woke up with a splitting headache. I groaned, and curled up further. I didn't want to heal myself with Katsuki in the room. I groggily stood, and walked out of the bedroom. I stumbled to the bathroom and locked the door. I took a deep breath, and dropped my blocks. Healing myself was a bit harder than it was to heal other people because I got to feel my own pain times 2. I fixed my splitting headache, and then braced myself. The headache came back double force. I waited a few minutes, and it passed.
I turned the dusty sink on, and splashed water on my face. I sighed and turned it back off. I was going to let Katsuki sleep in; he needed it. I walked downstairs, and sat at the bar.
"Morning." Tomura said, coming up behind me. I looked up at him.
"Hi." I replied, and went back to resting my head on the counter. He let out a small chuckle, and sat in the seat next to me.
"The heroes probably know where we are. They should be here sometime late today, or early tomorrow." He told me. I picked my head off the counter again.
"Why are you telling me this Tomura?" I asked, looking him in the eye.
"Because I have a deal for you. You stay out of the fight altogether, and we'll make sure that Bakugou, and your other friends don't get killed." He said. I looked deeper into his eyes.
"How do you plan to pull that off? My homeroom teacher, Eraser-Head knows my potential. He knows that I can murder your entire vanguard action squad unless I'm caught off guard. Which rarely ever happens. So, how do plan to pull that off?" I repeated.
"I had an idea, but I don't think you'll like it." He said.
"Just spit it out Tomura."
"Quirk restraints. You and I both know those don't work on you, but the other heroes don't." he told me. I shook my head.
"That is a good idea, but it won't work. Aizawa tested his quirk on me. he knows that regular quirk restraints don't work on me." I confessed. He looked pensive.
"You could pretend to be knocked out." He offered. I smirked.
"Yeah, sure. That'll be easy to pass off. Imagine! 'oh, yeah! we managed to knock out the most powerful 16-year-old in the world!'." I said, almost laughing at the ludicrous idea. Shigaraki glared at me. I sobered.
"Wait!" I declared, eyes brightening. "you can hold Bakugou hostage! Everyone in my class knows I would never risk any of my friends lives. If you hold Katsuki as a hostage, I can't do anything. Although, it means that if you lose him as your hostage, that I'll have no other choice than to attack. Unless the adults tell me not too." I announced.
"Why do I have to be a hostage?" Kacchan asked, coming down the stairs clutching his head.
"Because, I don't want to hurt my friends, but I also don't want the pros knowing that we're friends. If Shigaraki holds you hostage, I won't attack for fear of hurting you." I explained.
"Do I not get a say in this? What if the others don't realize that it's a ruse, and actually hold me hostage?" he questioned.
"We'll make sure that doesn't happen. If anything like that does happen, then I have a secure back up plan of 'shadow travel the fuck out of here.' Yes, that's trademarked." I countered. He sat down, and clutched his head.
"Okay. My head hurts." He said, and rested his head on the counter like I was not 5 minutes ago. I went over.
"Try and control yourself." I told Shigaraki, and Katsuki. They both caught their breath, and I slowly dropped my blocks. As quick as I could without hurting him, I pushed my power into Katsuki's head. I stepped back, and clutched my head myself. I sat at the counter again.
"Well, it is a good idea." Kacchan relented. Tomura grinned.
"It's settled then. We'll hold young Bakugou hostage, and Nico won't attack for fear of harming him." he announced. I grinned.
"Great!" I said. I summoned my laptop from the shadows. I opened it, and looked up pro heroes. They came up in order of rank.
#1: All-Might. Duh. How many times had that been announced?
#2: Endeavor. Dam. I hated him.
#3: Hawks. Who was that?
#4: Best Jeanist. Oof. That guy was so stuck up.
#5 Edgeshot. They sounded like fun.
Kamui Woods (#8) also looked like he might put up a real challenge. It honestly depended on if the teams worked together. I scrolled further down the list, and found someone who had recently reapplied for their license.
Gran Torino. Hmm, that was the person Izuku interned with. That meant that he knew about One for All. That might be problematic if he and All-Might were on the same team.
I scrolled through the rest of the list. It was a pretty long list.
"Hmm, my assumption is that they're going to bring most of the top 5, and some other top heroes to rescue Kacchan. Deku will probably get at least some of our classmates to help him. I'm guessing Todoroki will come, so will Iida. Even if it's just to keep the others out of trouble. Momo might come as well. I'm not certain if any of the others would be okay with that, so they probably won't tell the pros that they're coming." I concluded.
"Nico, you're starting to sound like Deku. I don't need another nerd." Katsuki said. I let out a small chuckle.
"Sorry. I just like to be prepared." I ran a hand through my hair. I looked back at my computer.
"It's most likely that Gran Torino, and All-Might will be on the same team as they know each other. Kamui Woods will probably also be on that team. If I had to guess, I'd say either the #4 or #5 will be with them. If Endeavor is less of an asshole than usually, he'll most likely be on that team too.
They might have the Nomu factory address in which case, the #4 or #5 that doesn't come to this hideout, will go there. Best Jeanist is the best option for that. He can restrain the Nomu with little to no harm to him or his team. That means Edgeshot is coming here. Best Jeanist will take at least 3 others with him. Mt. lady would be a good option. She would be there to capture the villains. The other options would include Tiger from summer camp. From what I saw, his quirk let him bend his body however he wanted. He also was naturally strong. They'll probably take some others with them." I deduced. Shigaraki looked like I'd just sucker punched him.
"Are you sure your quirk isn't super intelligence?" he asked. I looked at him, and summoned a handful of Hellfire.
"Positive." I replied.
Katsuki and I spent the rest of the morning just having a pleasant conversation with Shigaraki. Well, as pleasant as could be expected from Bakugou to a villain. Later in the day a knock came from the door. My head flashed up.
"Heroes." I mouthed. I pulled Bakugou behind me, and motioned for him to sit in the chair we'd made for this occasion. He sat, and I used the shadows to strap him in. then, I chained myself with the shadows, and connected my chains to a device that would look like if I didn't constantly pull it, that Katsuki would get hurt. It was quite a genius idea that Kacchan had come up with. It made it so that I couldn't do anything, lest he get hurt.
I heard the clone of Dabi open the door. Then, a scuffle from downstairs. I grinned as I heard Edgeshot gasp. No doubt having killed the Dabi clone, and seeing it turn to mush. I heard silent footsteps on the stairs, and started pulling on the device so that it activated. It would actually hurt him once I started so I had to keep complete concentration as to not slip. Katsuki put on his 'I'm going to kill these SOB's' face, and I made sure that the device was working properly.
The wall behind me exploded. I gritted my teeth, and made sure that the chain didn't go slack. I couldn't let him get hurt, even if it was his idea. All-Might came through the wall, and took in the situation. Shigaraki jumped into action, and rushed the number one hero. Dabi came downstairs as did Twice, Magne, Toga, and Spinner. I kept the chain taut, as the only other person who knew about our plan was Dabi. The hero Kamino Woods easily restrained everyone there. I kept the chain tight.
"What are you doing?" All-Might asked me, coming over. I was sweating pretty hard, and added in a few muscle shakes.
"If I let go of this chain," I jerked my head towards the contraption. There was a large florescent light above me, and it was actually making me weaker. Katsuki glared at the hero. All-Might took the chain from me, and I fell to my knees breathing heavily. Dang. This acting shit was hard. I stumbled up, and started undoing the restraints on Katsuki. I got him out of the chair, and he set off a few explosions.
"I'm going to kill that bastard!" he exclaimed, going towards Tomura. Kurogiri had been knocked out, so my friends were stuck. I was torn. Then, black liquid came out, and engulfed Katsuki and I.
I fell out in a rather destroyed building. I looked around, and almost fell over. All for One was standing not 10 feet away. I took up a defensive stance next to Bakugou.
"Ah, Nico. Now is the time; Pick a side!" He demanded. I looked around desperately. No one was nearby to help. The vanguard action squad was being warped out next to us, I sensed my classmates behind a wall, and there were a few pros who looked almost dead about 50 paces away. I was at a loss. I looked up at him.
"I am with my friends. I don't discriminate on good or evil. I'm a creature of the dark, yes. But the dark isn't always evil or bad. Hell! Without the dark, there is no light! And vice versa. I will not join you. But I cannot harm my friends." I looked at him, then at Tomura, and then at Katsuki. They all looked like they were waiting for me to do something. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I had no loyalties. Why couldn't they just accept that? I wasn't a hero or a villain. I was just a boy trying to find his way in life. A confused teen who'd been through too much.
"There is no middle ground! Pick a side! Hero, or Villain!" he demanded.
End of Chapter 24.
End of Nico…My Hero Academia.
