In Halves
The tailoring shop they've sought cover in agreed to house them for the night in return for compensation. Tanjirou, feeling increasingly bad that Shinobu-san paid for his dinner and now their lodgings, kept insisting he should pay for himself.
"Come on now, you'd take my gratitude in halves?" She argued. Tanjirou groaned.
"It's nothing like that, but—!"
"Okay, that's settled!" She chirped, interrupting him yet again as she handed a wad of bills to the proprietress. "Thank you for keeping us, Hijiri-san!"
"Shinobu-san!"
Shinobu-san simply winked, and the basket he held disappeared as she flash-stepped out of sight with it.
