The problem arose only two days after their time in Vale. Yang had partied a little too hard for the remainder of the weekend and had failed to show up to Professor Port's class on Monday morning. When she finally stumbled into the cafeteria that afternoon- clearly with a hangover- Pyrrha was not happy. However, the champion restrained herself from making any comments when Yang sat next to her at the edge of the table.

That is, until Yang pulled out her trusty flask from between her breasts and took a swig.

"That's it! This is too much, Yang." Pyrrha put her foot down.

"What's got your panties in a twist?" The boxer asked sardonically, not caring much for Pyrrha's serious tone. Blake was still in the library, but the remaining members of Team PBNYJWLR were present.

"You can't keep drinking! It's inappropriate and unhealthy and it's time to stop." The champion demanded. For a brief moment, Jaune saw this incident blowing over diplomatically. Yang would simply need to explain herself in a calm and collected fashion, and a productive discourse would naturally evolve until the problem was solved. But just a second later, this vision of the future vanished.

"Fuck you." Yang spat, ruining any hope of a happy ending here. Even Ruby, who'd always had her sister's back, flinched at these words.

"Fuck me? I'm trying to help you! What the hell is wrong with you? Can you not see that you have a problem?!" The red head insisted. People were staring now, but neither huntress seemed to notice.

Yang did not respond with words. Perhaps things would have gone better if she had. No, instead the blond stood up, grabbed Pyrrha lunch tray- still filled with the spaghetti she'd been eating, and dumped the entire thing on her partner's head.

The ever unhelpful crowd 'ooed' as the champion sat her her mess, a look of shock on her face. Jaune had just started to move from his position on the other side of the table when that look turned to anger, and the paragon of strength pushed her partner back to where she had come from.

Both Yang and Pyrrha picked themselves up at the same time- ready to duke it out- but luckily, Jaune managed to bring himself between them at that moment.

"Let's not destroy the cafeteria now, please?" The leader of Team JWLR pleaded, much to the disappointment of the blood hungry crowd. The two huntresses glared at him and each other, but walked away regardless, leaving Jaune yet another emotional mess to clean up.

After he'd talked to Ren, Ruby, Weiss, and Blake, Jaune finally decided that Yang and Pyrrha had cooled down enough to start to work things out rationally… But just to be safe, he'd start with Pyrrha.

As always, he found the champion in the training room.

"Hey Pyrrha." He said as she wailed on a dummy to make his presence known. She ceased her training and turned to him a moment later.

"Jaune. I was hoping to speak with you." She admitted. He raised an eyebrow. That was unexpected.

"Really? About what?"

"About Yang, of course." The huntress revealed.

"Funny," he realized. "I came to talk to you about the same thing."

"Excellent! I'm glad we're on the same page then. So. How will we stop Yang from drinking?" Jaune's eyes went wide and he shook his head. Oh no… This was not good.

"No, Pyrrha. That's…"

"What?"

"You can't be like this." Jaune finally came out and said it. "You can't just force change on people, even if it's for the better."

"If someone was about to drink poison, would you stop them?" Pyrrha challenged.

"Yes…?" He answered, unsure of where this was going.

"And if Weiss was about to- knowingly- drink poison, would you stop her?" She continued.

"Of course!" Why would she even ask that question?

"Then what's wrong with me trying to force Yang not to drink? Aura's a wonderful thing, but eventually it's all going to catch up with her and she's gonna kill herself, you know." Crap. She had given him a logic puzzle that he couldn't think his way out of. Not yet, at least.

"Well… I mean… Problems like this require a lighter hand." He knew she was right in suggesting that Yang shouldn't be drinking so much, yet he always knew that Pyrrha was taking the wrong approach to solve the problem. He just couldn't put the two ideas together.

"I wasn't the one who started the fight, Jaune." The leader of team PBNY reminded him.

"But…"

"I'm going to take a shower now. See you, Jaune." Pyrrha ended the conversation then and there.

That… Could've gone better.

"Yang-"

"No." Yang instantly cut him off.

"Oh come on! You don't even know what I was going to say." Jaune complained. The huntress merely raised an eyebrow. They were in the hallway outside their dormitories currently, he had only just managed to catch her.

"It's obvious what you were going to say. You were going to try and make me sort out my problem with Pyrrha just like you do with all of our friends because you can't help yourself." Yang read him like a book. "And then you probably would have come back to me after a while, having worked out exactly how to do what Pyrrha was unable to do, giving everyone a happy ever after. Yeah?"

"Well…" The team leader mumbled, abashed. He couldn't deny that his thoughts were along that train of thought just a moment ago.

"There's no need. I'll handle things myself right now." Jaune blinked.

"Wait, really?"

"Yep." The blond popped her 'p.' She opened the door to her dormitory and shouted, "Pyrrha! The sparring room in twenty minutes! This ends now!" Without waiting for a response, she walked away, leaving Jaune in a panic.

This was really bad, but maybe Pyrrha wasn't in the room to hear-

Suddenly, Pyrrha emerged from the room and marched off in the same direction Yang had.

Oh shit.

Jaune did not know what to do, but he knew he had to do something. Pyrrha and Yang had fought before, but if they fought each other in anger, Beacon would never recover. But more importantly, their relationship would never recover. It didn't matter who won- they were both prideful girls- in either case, there would be a loser. And that loser would never forgive her partner, Jaune just knew.

He panicked in the stands of the sparring room as Pyrrha and Yang prepared themselves to fight. The rest of Team PBNYJWLR had also arrived to watch, no one else seeming nearly as distressed as he was.

Thankfully though, his salvation came in the form of a text, just seconds before the two powerhouses engaged.

"Wait!" He yelled loud enough to make everyone turn and look at him. "I have the location of a high level White Fang base, we need to go there now if we want to hit them where it hurts!" That wasn't exactly what Neo wanted when she sent him the address of the warehouse- texting something about waiting for the perfect moment- but he figured she'd forgive him when he explained his situation.

Neither the combatants nor any of the spectators moved until Blake was motivated into action.

"What are we waiting for? We need to get to Vale, now!" Thankfully, everyone complied. But Jaune needed to keep in mind what this mission really was: a momentary abatement.

The team's problems had not yet been solved.

Would anyone even care if I ignored the poll? I suggested it originally because I didn't have anyone in particular in mind to ship with Jaune, but as the story has naturally progressed, there is one character that I feel would have the best chemistry with him. I say this now because I don't want to be disingenuous with people. If you really care about determining who Jaune ends up with by poll, then I'll keep it. I just think I should follow my own instincts as an writer regarding his pairing, which would give you guys the best story possible.

Please tell me if you care about the poll.

Until next time,
