„So, how's it going?" Frankie asked and sat down next to me onto the couch in my office. I glanced up from the laptop which rested on my knees and saw a wide grin on his face. It was probably too late to close the lid to prevent Frankie from seeing that I had been looking at wedding dresses.
"Actually good." I replied in surprise. Almost an entire week had passes since our return from the Cape and nothing bad had happened. Angela was still nice and things at work had calmed down.
"Oh, Cavanaugh gave everybody his piece of mind about discrimination in his department." Frankie chuckled, handing me a cup of coffee. It was from the division one café and I immediately noticed how Angela had scribbled: have a nice day! on it.
"Do you think that she's really fine with us being together now?" I asked, still having my doubts. There had been too much drama over the past weeks. "I hope so." He replied and I knew that Frankie didn't know either. "I haven't told her about Nina yet." He mumbled while tilting his coffee in the cup.
"She says I don't have to. No pressure. But I feel that I should."
I silently rolled my eyes not knowing what to say. "So, what has brought you here?" I changed the topic.
"Uhm, you know how I want to become a detective?" he asked with a smile. "Yes."
"I wanted to ask you for help. Maybe I could join some of your autopsies? Help you with crime scenes? Stuff like that. I feel that it would help if I had some experience."
"Of course, I don't see any problem. Have you asked Jane too?"
"Yes, she's okay with it. Just wanted to ask you too. You two are the best as we all know."
I promised him to give him notice whenever something interesting came up and laughed when I saw him checking out the dresses on the screen.
"Things are getting serious, hmm?"
"Yes. Although we haven't set up a date yet."
"Jane asked me to be her best man. Me and Frost." He giggled. "And Korsak has been instructed to take the license to perform the ceremony. Sounds like Jane is her best impatient self."
He lifted himself from the couch and patted my shoulder. "I'm really happy for you. We all are." He said before walking out of my office.

Later that night I asked Jane about a date. We were sitting on the couch in her apartment as we had decided to stay there. Bass was sleeping under the coffee table on which Janes feet rested after a long day and there was some gameshow playing on TV.
"A date?" she asked puzzled.
"Yes, for our wedding. Frankie told me you are already organizing your best man." I chuckled when she blushed. She muted the TV by pushing one of the buttons on the remote and her hand combed through her dark curls.
"Thought I might start some preparation. As far as I heard you are already looking for a dress." She grinned. Now it was my turn to blush. "Franke!" we both exclaimed at the same time and laughed.
Jane took my hand and led it to her mouth for a kiss. "I know we said that we would take it slow. But I don't feel the need to do so. Its like we've been together forever anyways." She said, her eyes gauging my reaction.
"It feels the same to me. But I didn't say something because I didn't want to rush you." I admitted. Our eyes met. "How about we do it in September at Cape Cod? Its still going to be warm and I'm still for the wedding at the beach." She offered.
It sounded perfect to me and I said so. Moreover, it gave us two months' time to plan and organize everything. "I already found the perfect outfit." Jane spoke into my thoughts which were just occupied with what had to be organized.
"You're not listening." She stated chuckling. "No, I am. You already have your perfect outfit. It's just that we have so much to organize. I was making a mental list." I slapped her playfully.
"Oh, no need to do that." Jane wiggled her eyebrows as she pulled out a pile of paper hidden underneath some books and journals on the coffee table. "Google knows and has everything." She smirked, knowing how I felt about google. "I know it's rarely peer-reviewed. But the list isn't bad after all."
Her arm came to rest on my shoulders as I started to go over the papers. The lists even showed checkboxes to cross out the things which had been done. There was actually not much I could criticize about it. It was almost perfect – at least at first sight.
"Gives us more time for the fun stuff." The dark voice said before Janes mouth came closer to my pulse point. "You don't say so?" I giggled, putting the stack of papers back onto the table to pull her down onto me.
"Yes, I do. But I see that you have no objections." The soft lips already worked their way down to much more exciting parts of my body. "No objections at all." I whispered while my hands began roaming her body.

It was two or three days later when I threw the door open to Janes apartment. "How can you be so calm about the wedding?" I almost yelled at Jane who was behind me. We had shared a ride home and somewhere between the precinct and Janes apartment things had heated up.
"Me?" Jane exclaimed. "Why are you so stressed out about it? We still have two months!"
"Do you have any idea how much we have to organize?" I asked stopping in my tracks so that she bumped right into me.
"You said that two months are enough." She stated helplessly. I swallowed back my next response and glared at her. I knew that I was being unfair right now. My whole day had been shitty and I was taking it out on her.
She grabbed me by my wrist holding me back softly as I tried to walk off into the bedroom. "What's the matter, babe?" she asked softly, her brown eyes observing me closely. "Why are we fighting?"
"I don't know." I said in a low voice. "You know our wedding is going to be perfect? Right?"
She pulled me into a hug. "Come on. Tell me what the problem is. Maybe I can help you."
How could I keep up my walls when being so close to her? I finally admitted that this had nothing to do with the wedding but more with Crowe who had spent the entire day provoking me.
I knew that it was stupid and usually I was able to ignore him, but some days I just couldn't help and get mad. So far, when it had happened, I just drove home and stayed away from Jane or any other people for that matter. But living together changed the situation.
"I'm sorry." I apologized to Jane who still held me in her arms. "I'm sorry too, babe. Forget that scumbag. I know that its easier said than done. But he's really not worth it. Why don't we cook something and start with the guest list later?"
We both went to shower and changed into our comfy clothes before we began to cook. Jane who had found another recipe she wanted to try gave me orders which I followed meticulously. "You know, you don't have to chop up the carrots to the exact same size." Jane nudged me teasingly. "I know, but I can't help it." I laughed while glancing at the pile of carrots.

"Okay. So who's on the guest list?" I asked already holding the pen and a piece of paper.
"Maur?" Janes suddenly asked with a stern voice. It felt as if nothing good was coming.
"Yes, Jane?" I questioned her, bracing myself for any possible problem.
"Could you imagine getting married in Long Island? I uhm spoke with Ma today and she said that it would be nice to have the family."
At first, I was angry as Angela had found a way into our lives again but being myself I thought better of it and turned to Jane.
"Is that what you want?" I asked calmly recalling Aunt Rosetta.
Jane laughed nervously. "Actually yes. I think it would be nice to have them." Pause "Do you think the Isles could survive a wedding with the Rizzoli's?
My mind tried to picture it. "Well, I guess they will have to, right?" I chuckled. My hand took hers and we smiled at each other. "If that's what you want."
"It's a beach too. And I like Aunt Rosetta and the lots." She admitted.
"Well in this case it will be Long Island then." I smiled firmly.
"In this case…." The brunette started to cite a list of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and I began to see that this was going to be everything else than a small wedding. But I didn't care because I loved Jane and liked her family.
