Drakken made a face as Shego entered the kitchen, still in sweatpants and hacking into a tissue. "Are you sick again?"
"Try still sick." She sounded less congested, but she began to cough again, clutching the back of a chair with her other hand.
"But I got sick after you and I'm fine."
Shego sighed and went to the fridge, pulling out a large vat of soup. "I'm always like this. I almost never get sick, and then when I do it's awful."
Drakken frowned. "Your whole life?"
The fridge door slammed shut. "Is this another 'Let me test your powers for abnormalities' thing, because I'm not –" She cut herself off with more coughing, and Drakken sighed. Yes, it had been one of those things, but now of course he couldn't say that …
"Why don't you sit. I'll get your soup."
Shego paused, reaching for a bowl. "Why?"
"Why? Because you're sick!"
"You didn't care about that last week," Shego said, her hands on her hips. Last week, in fact, he had berated her for letting Stoppable take the ray thingy or whatever it was until Killigan agreed to go 40/60 on their partnership in exchange for letting Shego go back to bed.
"Yes, well." Last week there had been a world to take over. And this week he was still formulating his plan, so …
Shego coughed again, hard, and Drakken went to her, guiding her to a chair. "You sit." He poured the soup into a bowl and set it in the microwave.
"I'm not contagious or anything. I just can't get rid of this fucking cough. And my throat is killing me."
He supposed he had been less than kind last week. "Why don't you take the next few days off?"
Shego narrowed her eyes. "Really?"
"Yes, really. We're not going to the other lair for another week, so –"
"Is this the lair that's literally made of ice? That will not go well."
"Hush, Shego." He took the soup out of the microwave and handed it over. "Rest, ok?"
"Alright," she said, pulling the bowl over. She took a bite.
"Ok. Great." He hesitated. "Can I get you anything else?"
She took another bite and swallowed. "No. Thanks though." She coughed again, but it didn't sound nearly as terrible. "I'll be fine. Just rest and fluids and stuff."
"And then when you're in good enough shape we can get our hands on that truth ray –"
Shego groaned and put her head in her hands.
