Asgard is a place of magic and wonder where the Norse gods live under the benevolent guidance of King Odin. The realm eternal is a place of peace after so many years of ancient battles. King Odin and the two princes Thor and Loki were just done having a feast. The king walks through the palace halls talking with his two sons, he was imparting wisdom to both young princes. Thor eagerly waited to ask his father some questions about the kingdom, where Loki's mind was on something else. Just before the feast, he was watching his secret project of Magni. He had just finish battling a Lava Man, and Loki was surprised he had gotten the better of the Lava Man. Loki was starting to suspect that just maybe somehow this little godling could be his brother's son. But he was not ready to concede that point just yet. He wanted to devise one more test to see how this upstart would fair. He continues listening to the All-Father and biding his time until it was time to strike again.

It had been three days since the Lava Man had attack Shore City, since that time the cleanup operation was well underway. The hospital was overburden with injuries the first day but had since slowed down and things were returning to normal. Detective Harris himself was released from the hospital and instead of going home as his doctor told him he went back to the station. His unit Strikeforce had performed excellently in the face of such destructive force, but he wanted to thank them personally. When he walks in the station the captain calls him before he can make it down the hall.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came in to talk with the unit."

"I gave them a couple of days off because they more than earn it. You look like you could use some time off to."

"I glad you gave them the time, Lord knows they deserve some time off."

"Well Detective Harris, I didn't want to tell you this right now, but since you are here come to my office."

Once they both are in the captain's office, he closes the door, and Harris takes a seat.

"Detective you know Strikeforce was rush into existence because Shore City needed a special unit to handle all the meta-human activity that was happening. You step in marvelously to help us launch and train the unit."

"Captain you know that was not a problem, I just used my experience from back east and taught them what they needed to know. They were an eager group. Some of the best officers I ever work with."

"I know you feel strongly about them that's why I hate to tell you this but the powers that be want a lieutenant to be in charge of the team. Not a detective, you are being reassigned back to the detective division and we have someone new coming into head-up Strikeforce. That's one of the reasons we gave them time off, so when they return we will be ready to introduce them to their new leader."

Harris was stung to hear the news but he knew that there was no need to protest. It sounds like the top brass wanted someone who looks better in a photo op besides an old cop like him. He left without a word to the captain and wonders how life is rarely ever fair.

Over the last three days, Magni had recovered from his injuries and Stan had suggested that he take Rebecca out on a date. Magni didn't know what a date was? Where he was from, in New Asgard couples were pre-arrange by their parents. So he had never gone out with anyone and he was not even sure what he was supposed to do. Stan assures him not to worry that Rebecca would lead him all the way through.

When he arrived at Rebecca's house she commented that he looked clean for once and they both laugh at the joke. They rode in her jeep to Southland a suburb of Shore City, they went to the Westin Steak House for dinner. Everything was nice and elegant. Magni wasn't sure what to order so Rebecca ordered for both of them, and then she asks him about his parents. He wasn't sure what to say, because Stan made him promise that he wouldn't mention anything about New Asgard while on this date.

Meanwhile back in her underwater lab Viper was still upset about the failure of her last plan. She was not used to having setbacks and decided that before she tried again to tackle Magni that she would be sure to use the right weapon against her foe. No more failures were her new motto. She had thought of the perfect weapon if she could just get her hands around it again. She went to make a video call to an old friend.

Downtown Shore City was mostly untouched by the Lava Man and the Rose had been reviewing the tape of the battle with Magni. He had tried to get rid of this hero several times, and times he was ready to try a different approach. If he could not get rid of him with sheer strength, he would try a full-frontal assault. There was a knock on his door, and in walks, the answers to his prayers, standing in front of him was the pilot for the armor villain Firepower.
