What happened during Charlie's stag-do seemed to be a blur. Yet, from the fragments slowly creeping back into his mind, Ethan could tell the night had been eventful. Eventful in many ways, not to mention Ethan had managed to embarrass himself. Caught up in celebrating Charlie's last night as a single man, Ethan had managed to get drunk and show off some of his dance moves while shouting 'there's a doctor in the house!'. Cal, on the other hand, had managed to somehow get with a girl and then found himself in handcuffs attached to a briefcase.
The morning after wasn't much different. The two of them along with Max and Noel got rudely woken up by Dylan. Only to find a sheep in the room and no sign of Charlie. Still with splitting headaches from last night's events, the four of them decided to split up in twos in search of finding Charlie. Max and Noel paired off with each other while, Cal partnered with Ethan. With Max and Noel searching for Charlie by looking for Josh, Cal and Ethan decided to start where it all began; in the city centre. Surely, they would be able to find someone who'd remembered seeing them last night?
Although finding Charlie was the priority, since today was his wedding day, the brothers' main concern at the moment was getting the briefcase off of Cal's wrist. Walking along the pier, Cal noticed Ethan limping.
"What's wrong with your leg?" he asked, looking over his shoulder.
"I don't know, but it feels so sore." Ethan replied as he hobbled to a stop. "I think I need to take a look."
Slowly Ethan began to roll up his trouser leg. He was met with a shock. His calf was bright red and right in the middle was a tattoo. What was even more shocking was what the tattoo was of. Somehow in his drunken state, Ethan had told the tattoo artist that he wanted to get a 'Be More Cal' tattoo. That is exactly what he got. He groaned only to be met with a slight chuckle from Cal.
"It's not funny, Cal." Ethan said, quickly rolling his trouser leg back down. "I can't believe I got a tattoo."
"Well, it's pretty funny from where I'm standing. Looks like you want to be more like me now."
"I don't know what's worse. Having this permanent ink stuck on me or the fact that I had to get one with your name?"
"I would say both in your case, Nibbles. But, hey is there any more you've got hidden on your body?" Cal was still laughing.
" I hope not."
While Ethan waited for Cal to stop laughing, he quickly made sure he hadn't got anymore tattoos on him. With that moment over, the two of them scanned the pier, hoping to see Charlie or rather have an idea of where to go next in their search for him.
"So what do you want to do now?" Ethan asked, leaning against a mirror.
Cal sighs, before looking back down at his wrist which was still handcuffed to the briefcase. " Well, I think first we need to find a way to get this thing off me."
"Okay, any ideas how?"
"No, but I thought you'd have one."
"Do I look like I've got an idea?"
"Probably not a good one, judging by your last one." Cal grinned, indicating to Ethan's leg.
Ethan groaned. " Fine, why don't we head into that place over there and ask if they remember seeing us last night."
Cal followed his brother's gaze. A cheeky smile appearing over his face. "You mean the tattoo parlour? The place where you got your tattoo from?"
Ethan nodded, "Why not? It's a good place to go next. I mean if I did go in there last night, then they must remember something."
"If?" Cal said, as the two of them crossed the street.
The bell rang announcing their arrival. The brothers walked up to the counter and were greeted by a young woman.
"Oh, it's you two again." She called out in a Welsh accent.
"You remember us?" Ethan inquired.
'Yeah, you were here last night. Completely out of it, but insisted on getting a tattoo."
Ethan laughed nervously.
Cal asked, "You don't by any chance have something to get this off me?"
"I might have something. I'll just go grab it." The young woman headed towards the back of the parlour.
While they were waiting for the woman to come back, Ethan suddenly remembered that he might have something he could use to open the briefcase with. Rummaging through his pockets, Ethan pulled out his stethoscope.
"You brought a stethoscope to a stag do?" Cal muttered.
"It's a comfort thing." Ethan said.
"Yeah, of course you brought your stethoscope with you. You're ridiculous." Cal groaned into the palm of his hand.
Slightly embarrassed about watching his brother open the briefcase with his stethoscope, Cal turned his back and busied himself with looking out of the window. Seconds later, Ethan heard a click. Fumbling with the clasps, he opened the briefcase only to slam it closed seconds later.
"What?" Cal said, only to have the woman come back.
"Uh, I would like to have a look at some other designs. Perhaps a caterpillar." Ethan said to the woman.
The woman nodded strangely before going to get the folder.
"A caterpillar?" Cal said when she left.
"Look," Ethan said as he reopened the briefcase to show his brother.
Cal was just as surprised as Ethan was.
"What on earth did we get up to last night?" Cal wondered.
"Oh, yeah," the woman answered for them. "You went to a strip club."
Ethan felt his cheek heat up. "Uh, a strip club?"
The woman nodded her response. "Yeah."
Ethan let out another nervous chuckle. "You don't happen to know which strip club?"
"There is only one strip club."
"Of course." Ethan let out.
So from the tattoo parlour, they found themselves at the strip club. Then from the strip club, they somehow found themselves in the middle of a hostage situation. From what they gathered, the young woman Cal had met at the club, had left Cal with the briefcase. A briefcase filled with cash that was meant to be for a man. A man who was now holding Cal's arm with the briefcase attached and a knife up above his head. All Ethan saw was the glint of the knife before the man was about to stab the knife down into his brother. Not thinking about his safety, Ethan let out a scream and charged at the man. Both of them grunted as they landed in a heap. The man fell unconscious as he slammed the back of his head into the wall. Ethan struggled to untangle himself from the man. Puffing slightly as he crawled his way back, he grabbed onto Cal's shoulders. Grappling, to make sure he was alright, Cal, held onto the back of his Ethan's head.
"Be more Cal." Cal breathed out, touching his forehead with his brother's.
They were lost in the moment they hadn't heard two pairs of footsteps on the stairs. Turning their heads, they were met with Dylan and Josh. Both trying to take in the scene in front of them.
"Yep," Dylan admitted. "All part of the course."
"Still no sign of Charlie." Josh said, leaning forward on the banister.
Getting up off the floor, Cal pulled Ethan up with him. Both brothers were now standing when a wave of dizziness over took Ethan and he began to see circles in his vision. Ethan stumbled sideways as if he was drunk.
"Ethan?" Cal managed to catch him. "Are you okay? What's the matter?"
Ethan didn't respond. He went limp in Cal's arm. Cal tried to move his brother's weight off his chest so he could lie him down but he was too heavy to move. Noticing what was happening, Dylan and Josh rushed over to help. With help from his friends, Cal managed to move Ethan's weight off of him and lie him down on the floor. While Dylan checked Ethan's pulse, Cal placed his ear over his brother's mouth. Ethan was still breathing.
"How's his pulse?" Cal asked when he looked back at Dylan.
Dylan nodded. "It's steady."
"What on earth happened?"
"I think Ethan must have hit his head on him," Cal explained, pointing to the man who was still unconscious. "when he charged at him."
Dylan and Josh looked at the man then back to where Ethan lay.
"Why would Ethan charge at him?" Dylan asked.
"It's not the aftermath of what happened last, is it?" Josh said.
"You guys remember what happened last night?" Cal wondered.
"Uh, barely." Josh said.
"But, not enough to forget about what Ethan was getting up to last night." Dylan added. "He was pretty much out of it by the time we got to the strip club."
"Ugh." Cal groaned. "Yeah, about that..."
"Hey , no need to apologise. We were all pretty much out of it last night." Josh smiled.
"Speak for yourself." Dylan said. "Someone needed to stay sober since we had to drive back to Holby."
Josh rolled his eyes at Dylan. "Party pooper."
Dylan responded with a grunt. "Speaking of which, we still need to find Charlie. Since you two didn't have any luck in finding him, I wonder if Max and Noel had better luck at tracking him down. I'll give them a call."
"Er, if by any chance Noel's the one to pick up, he's called Lesley now." Cal said.
"Lesley? What...er never mind." Dylan groaned.
While Dylan went off to phone the other two, Ethan began to come round. His eyes fluttered open and he tried to sit up only to be held back by Cal.
"Woah, stay there, Ethan. You need to rest." Cal told him.
"What happened?" Ethan asked.
"You just fainted. It's probably when you hit your head on the man trying to be like me." Cal grinned. "Be more Cal, right? Anyhow, how are you feeling?"
"Like I've got another hangover." Ethan strained out. "My head's thumping a bit."
"You're probably going to feel like that for a little while." Cal replied.
Gently, Cal helped his brother get off the floor before Ethan was handed a glass of water by Josh.
"Here this will help." Josh offered.
After calling the police, Dylan suddenly got a phone call from the police station informing him someone was using his name. It just so happened that it was Charlie, who after last night, found himself in a police cell. Luckily, after bailing Charlie out, the gang managed to make it back to Holby just in time for Charlie to be present at his own wedding. This morning's ordeal had left Cal thinking about how things were between him and Ethan. Nursing a glass of whiskey in his hand, Cal sighed. Things were going to be a lot different for them now. Ethan's future had mapped out for him and Cal needed to ensure he was there to support him.
"How are you holding up?" Ethan asked, wandering over to where his brother stood.
"Yeah, I'm doing ok."
"So what was all that?"
"What was all what?" Cal asked, taking a sip from his glass.
"That thing with Alicia."
'Nothing."
"Cal..."
"Look Ethan, if you don't like what you saw or how I behave, are you saying you don't want to be me like me now?"
"No, because no matter what you do, no matter how stupid you are, I still look at you I think 'yeah that's my brother'." Ethan said matter of factly.
"And, you've got me for life, Nibbles." Cal smiled.
