Previously on Frenemies:

"So..." she trailed off, looking at their position, shifting herself slightly so she would be straddling him, "Why'd you really come here in the first place?" She asked, placing her arms around his neck, "Hm?"

Before he could respond, there was a knock at the door, Ino groaned, Sakura probably locked the door when she left and forgot her card key. She hesitantly climbed off him and adjusted her cami and shorts that had hiked up.

"Coming, Sak!" She called out, walking towards the door, conscious about the way Shikamaru's eyes roamed her body. She bit her lip to suppress the smile inching on her face, opening the door to find a dashing looking Kiba, sporting the wolfish smirk that used to make her swoon.

She gulped, "Kiba-kun!" she nearly stuttered.

"Sakura."

She looked up from her yogurt, laughing lightly when she came face to face with the red-head who she almost fought for last night. She looked around him for signs of the brunette in a joking manner, faking a fearful expression.

Gaara smirked, rolling his eyes at Sakura.

She smiled, "She's not behind you, is she?"

He took a seat across her and Hinata who looked as confused as ever, but didn't comment anything, "Sorry about last night."

She shrugged, "As long as you cleared things up and she doesn't murder me next time she sees me, it never happened."

"Done."

The pinkette smiled, "So how'd you calm her down?"

"Nothing words can't fix."

Her eyebrows raised in amusement, "And you're a master of words since when?"

Hinata cleared her throat lightly, reminding them of her presence. Sakura turned to Hinata, "Matsuri and I almost got in a fight for this one here last night. He forgot to mention he had a girlfriend and she went berserk when she saw us." She explained briefly, "You could've warned me." She told him pointedly.

He chuckled under his breath, "There was nothing to warn about."

Sakura raised a brow, "So she has a habit of fighting girls over random strangers?"

He clicked his tongue, "We were once friends. Childhood friends." He briefly explained, "Did Sasuke bring you back last night?"

Hinata turned to the pinkette, seeing how her playful smile suddenly turned into a scowl, "Nope."

"What happened after he carri-"

"Nothing, we went our separate ways once I promised I wouldn't hurt his girlfriend's little face." she interjected, quickly stopping him from saying too much.

It was his turn to raise his brows in amusement, "Sakura, they aren't dating." He figured it be better to clear this misunderstanding before it escalated.

"Well with what they do they might as well be in a relationship."

He gulped the lump that formed in his throat, "What do you mean?"

"I... I was just being petty, don't listen to me." she tried laughing off.

He didn't buy it, and she could tell by the look he was giving her so she sighed, "She told me herself that Sasuke had been cheating on me all along with her...gosh is it even considered cheating if we were never together?"

Gaara looked hesitant to respond, and Sakura took it as a sign that he was still processing what she had revealed.

"It doesn't really matter for me, but you're my friend, and I wouldn't want you to end up hurt if Sasuke and her are still a thing."

"Thanks for the heads up, but I don't think that's true."

She furrowed her brows, "She told me herself, Gaara."

"And you believed her?"

The pinkette was taken aback, sure she had thought about the possibility of it just being a lie, but she didn't see a reason behind why the brunette would come up with the lie, "She didn't have a reason to make it up, Sasuke and I had already broken things off at that point."

He sighed, knowing he was about to disclose more than he intended, "Pathological liars don't need a reason to lie, Sakura. She lied." He briefly assured before changing the focus onto his friend, "If anyone knows Sasuke better than he knows himself its me or the guys and we would be the first to notice if he wasn't really into you." He told her. He didn't know why he was clearing Sasuke's name, but he would rather see the pinkette happy with someone than see her this distraught over Matsuri's lies.

He stood up before she could ask any follow up questions.

Sakura let it all sink in before turning to Hinata who only nodded in agreement with what the red-head had said.

"Kiba-kun!"

She stared at him, not side-stepping from the door and he looked confused to why she didn't invite him in.

"You're not going to invite me in?" He asked with a trace of a smile.

"Ah," she giggled nervously, "I was actually on my way out." she told him with a tight smile.

"Really?" he asked suspiciously.

She nodded hurriedly, "Yeah, why?"

He shrugged with a smirk, "I mean, I'm not complaining, but I don't know if I want other guys checking you out too."

She looked down, at her outfit, eyes widening in surprise, slightly blushing, "Let me just change into something else, and I'll meet you at the lobby, yeah?"

He wasn't convinced, "How about I wait on your couch instead, we both know how long you like to take." He teased, walking right by her and into her room.

"Wait Kiba, I-" she started in panic. She didn't need any confrontations this early in the morning.

"What?" he asked her, slouching down on her bed instead, "Take as long as you want, I just moved into a new town on Animal Crossing so I'll be very entertained."

She looked at the spot occupied by Shikamaru just seconds ago, relieved that he had hidden, but also wondering where he had gone.

She smiled at Kiba's antics. Nobody really knew he played that lame game except her because the guys would make fun of his unpopular addiction to it.

"Okay, but don't get too comfortable, I'm going to be extra quick."

"Neji," she called, breathing heavily behind him, "Why did you pick up the pace?" she managed to say through pants.

He slowed down into a jog, "You're getting too comfortable." He told her effortlessly. He didn't even look out of breath, heck he didn't even look like he had broken a sweat.

He let them stop near the river like they usually did after running 5 miles nonstop. It was their time to cool off before heading back to the school.

"When are we going to take a splash in the river?" She asked him, to which he responded with a scoff.

"A 'splash'?" He asked in distaste, "There's a pool back in school for that."

She rolled her eyes, "But it's not the same as this. Look you can see the pebbles on the riverbed because the water is so clear."

"Exactly. If you get in, it won't be clear anymore."

She punched him, "Jerk."

He smirked.

"You know Lee-kun asked me if I wanted to go for a swim next time we hiked together and I might take him up on the offer since you're such a grump."

His smirk faltered, "Fine, next time we'll get in."

She looked at him incredulously, a smile eagerly tracing her lips in excitement, "Really?!"

He nodded and his heart somehow felt warm when he saw the way her entire face brighten up with a smile with the smallest things. He didn't know why, but he wanted to always be the reason for that.

"Sakura-chan, I-I agree with Gaara-kun. I don't think Sasuke-kun and Matsuri-san-"

Sakura sighed, "I know Hina. Now that I think about it, I shouldn't have been so gullible." she agreed, "But it doesn't matter anyway. Like I said, Sasuke and I had been over since before she told me that so regardless if it's true or not, it doesn't matter."

Hinata nodded, biting her lip and fiddling with her thumbs, something Sakura knew she did when she wanted to ask something but wasn't sure if she should, "Spill."

The blue-haired teen smiled sheepishly, "A-are you still g-going to tell Sasuke-kun a-about Itach-"

Sakura hushed her quickly, "Hina, don't jinx me, I'm still not talking to him and I'm really hoping he stops calling and texting me." The pinkette grumbled, recalling that she had basically ghosted the older Uchiha and she wasn't really in the mood to rekindle her friendship with him just yet. After all she didn't want to worsen his relationship with Sasuke when she chooses to reveal everything to his little brother.

"Y-you haven't talked t-to h-him?"

The pinkette shook her head, looking at the messages he had sent her asking her what was wrong, "I feel bad, but-"

"But you still won't answer my texts."

Sakura stiffened, knowing the owner of the voice. Her eyes widened when she met Hinata who looked just as panicked as she was.

"I-Itachi-san, ohayo gozaimasu!" Hinata was the first to react, bowing at the older Uchiha.

Sakura didn't even bother turning around. She got up and quickly walked past him, rushing out of the cafeteria without looking up.

She heard him sigh, following right behind her. He waited until they reached the hall, out of cafeteria because he didn't want to cause a scene in front of all her classmates even if she had already made one with her evasive behavior.

He easily caught up to her, pulling her to a stop, "Sakura."

She had no choice but to stop when his grip on her wrist tightened as she tried to slip out of his grasp. She bit her lip, looking at everything except him.

"What are you doing here?" she asked carefully looking around for on-lookers.

He released her wrist when she finally spoke, "You have been ignoring my calls and texts."

She gulped, "I've been busy." She lied.

"We both know that's a lie." He said knowingly, "I came here for an explanation and I'm not leaving without one." he stated firmly.

Sakura knew Itachi didn't like going around in circles so she nodded, "Fine, but not here." She said walking down the hall and into an empty classroom.

He followed suit, taking a seat on one of the desks, crossing his arms over his chest. If this was younger Sakura she would have swooned at the sight of her childhood crush sitting like that in a room all alone with her.

She cleared her throat, ready to tell him why she decided to cut him off, "I think its for the best if we stop being friends. Its not really getting you closer to Sasuke and I can't keep reporting back to you anyway because Sasuke and I- we don't talk anymore...s-so I don't have any new information to tell you."

"Sak, you know that isn't the reason why we're close. Whether you continue doing this or not doesn't change the fact that we are still friends." He stated, before his eyebrows furrowed, "What happened between you two?"

Sakura knew he would ask but it was better if he didn't get involved, the situation was already so messy she didn't need it to get any worse, "It doesn't really matter. Like I said-"

"What did he do?" he asked in a slightly accusing tone.

Sakura scowled, it upset her how quick Itachi was to place the blame on Sasuke when he was his little brother and she was simply a stranger, "Why are you assuming it was his fault when-"

"Because I know how Sasuke is." He sighed rubbing his nose bridge.

For some reason this angered Sakura even more, "Is that why you had to resort to finding someone to spy on him for you?" she retorted.

This made Itachi clench his jaw. Sakura knew he was getting irritated because he knew it was true. Good. she thought.

"If it make you feel better, then fine you're right he did do something. He placed bets with his friends to see who could sleep with me first. Happy?" she told him, watching how his eyes softened, "And you know the worst part is that I can't be sad about it because I betrayed his trust first."

"Sakura that doesn't justify his actions-"

"I know, and that's why I want this to be the end of everything that has to do with the Uchiha name." She said with finality, "And that includes you."

"You're hurting right now and I understand. I will give you the space you need Sakura."

She shook her head, "I rather it end now when Sasuke doesn't know the shit person I really am."

He pulled her into his chest, she sounded so broken and he couldn't help the guilt forming at the pit of his stomach when he knew he was the reason behind her pain, "You did nothing wrong Sakura. Don't think so lowly of yourself."

She refused to cry, she had done enough of that. But she didn't push him away, choosing to relish the last moments of hugging him warmly. She closed her eyes and sighed deeply.

Her moment of serenity was cut short when he was yanked away from her. Her eyes shot open and she saw Itachi on the floor holding his jaw as if the intruder had punched him.

Instinctively, she rushed towards Itachi's side, asking if he was alright.

"Get up!"

Sakura couldn't believe this was happening. This is exactly what she didn't want happening.

"Sasuke!" She tried stopping him when Itachi got up and was pushed back by Sasuke, "Don't, please." she cried. Itachi wasn't doing anything to defend himself, seemingly accepting Sasuke's wrath.

She looked into his eyes and Sasuke's eyes seem to flash red, "Move Sakura." he bit out when she stood in front of Itachi.

"No, Sasuke. Please don't hurt each other." He felt the way her hands trembled when she placed her delicate hands on his chest, "Sasuke, please." she pleaded and he stepped back, running a hand through his locks.

Sakura thought she had lost her mind when she heard Itachi laughing behind her, "I knew you were foolish little brother, but this, I would have never expected from you."

Sasuke looked like he wanted to punch his brother again, but he only clenched his jaw because he didn't want to see Sakura's panicked face again.

"Here for another weekly report?" Sasuke asked knowingly, "Here's one: go to hell."

Sakura's eyes widened at his revelation, but Itachi smirked, "Ah, is that why you broke Sak's little heart? So you wouldn't look even more foolish, is it?"

Sasuke turned his previously heated gaze towards the pinkette who was waiting for his response, and his eyes softened at her hopeful gaze, "No, the bet was set long before I knew her involvement with you."

Itachi eyed Sasuke, analyzing the situation before him, noting his little brother hadn't taken the easy way out of this one. Sasuke didn't blame his mistakes on the situation, he was being honest, "Interesting," he started off, "I do wonder why you're so bothered to see me with Sakura-chan if she was simply another conquest." he pressed, pretending to be curious when he knew exactly why Sasuke was so bothered.

Sasuke knew his brother was pushing his buttons on purpose, he knew this game all too well, he smirked smugly, "Hn, I thought you were brighter than that nii-san." he retorted, "I don't like sharing what's mine."

Sakura snapped out of her shock from his earlier revelation, "Enough, both of you. I'm right here in case neither of you have noticed and I don't particularly enjoy being objectified," she huffed, "Both of you are acting like children fighting over a toy."

"Well put Sakura, I apologize for my childish behavior-"

"Stop apologizing and start acting your age! You both need to make amends with each other so until then, don't talk to me." She stated, looking at Itachi sharply when he opened his mouth to speak, "Either of you!"

Being the authoritarian personality he is, Itachi was persistent, wanting to have the last word, "Sakura, I don't think-"

But Sakura wasn't having any of it, "Well don't think because I think you and Sasuke have a lot of issues to address, starting with how you ended up hiring someone to spy on him. Dig deeper and come to terms with each other because I'm done with both of you."

Sasuke's eyes searched for hers until she finally made eye contact with him, "Forever?" he asked in the softest tone she's ever heard him utter.

Sakura fought the urge to swoon, "I-"

"Why does he get to ask-"

Sakura groaned, "We'll talk later." she quickly said before walking out of the room and slamming the door behind her.

Those two would be the end of her.

She smiled, but at least what had been weighing on her shoulder for weeks and possibly months had been lifted.

Ino's gasp was the loudest amongst her friends when Sakura told them what had just happened.

"S-So Sasuke-kun knew a-all a-along?!" Hinata's voice had also gotten a bit louder.

Sakura nodded.

"Damn, so you were worried over nothing?" the brunette chimed in.

Ino scoffed, "What do you mean 'nothing'?! She had everything to worry about!"

Sakura sighed, "You know guys, I don't really-"

"Wait a minute, is that why he said all that crap about the bet? To save face?"

The pinkette shook her head, "He said the bet was already in place before he knew."

"So he's still a jerk?" Tenten deadpanned.

"Have you talked to him? Are you going to talk to him?" the blonde continued bombarding the pinkette with questions.

"I don't know!" she answered a bit fed up, before explaining, "I told him to look for me after he fixed shit with Itachi but I don't expect him to look for me, at least not until Monday." she shrugged, hoping Sasuke would go back home this weekend with his brother and they could have some sibling bonding time, "But enough about me, what's up with you and Shikamaru? Last I remember you were his other woman."

Ino smiled sarcastically, "It was going great, until Kiba burst into the room and totally ruined the moment."

"Moment? Pig, were you making out with a taken guy?"

"Yes and no. Turns out he broke up with Temari a while ago, so good news, I'm not a home-wrecker."

Sakura laughed, and Tenten clapped, "We love that for you."

"I-Ino-chan, a-are you still g-going to see Shikamaru d-despite how h-he's treated you?"

"Thank you Hina, for asking the real questions here." The pinkette added.

Ino glared at Sakura, but looked genuinely conflicted, "I don't know, it's hot and cold with him," she answered, "One day he's giving me crap over how spoiled I am and the next he seems like he really cares about me."

Sakura clicked her tongue, "Well, I'll tell you one thing, listen to your heart."

Tenten nearly spilled the water she had just drank from her hydro flask, "Sak, you seriously have to stop watching that crap."

Sakura gaped at her friend, "It's a good show!"

Tenten grimaced, "Please, we all know how sappy the ending is going to be."

Ino rolled her eyes, "Guys, this is a serious issue."

Hinata nodded, "Ino, I th-think you should take things s-slow with him... I m-mean, h-he did say m-many hurtful th-things to y-you, a-and we d-don't want to see you g-getting hurt again."

Ino nodded, and at the time she really wanted to follow her friends advice, but when she met him again, something that started off as a heated argument between her and the pineapple haired boy ended up in a heated make-out session in the janitor's closet.

And Ino was hooked...but so was he.

The weekend passed by fairly quickly, too quickly in Sakura's opinion and the anxiety was eating her up. Sure she was eager to see Sasuke and talk to him, but she was also nervous of how things would go after everything had been said and done.

As soon as she walked into the cafeteria to grab breakfast, she realized she wouldn't have to wait too long because she met his eyes upon her entrance to the hall.

She gulped, it was as if he had known she would be the next person to walk in because his eyes met hers in an instant.

She was the first one to break the eye contact, quickly searching the room for the table filled with her friends. She spotted Ino's platinum blonde hair in a matter of seconds.

The pinkette quickly grabbed some breakfast and sat next to her friends, "Sakura-chan! We were just talking about a new routine for the upcoming competition!" Ami told her excitedly. The purple haired girl had become more and more part of their clique ever since she started dating Sai.

Ino nodded, "It's going to be super fresh and obviously original because I'll be choreographing it."

"Yeah! And I'm going to be in charge of wardrobe, so girlies, you don't have to worry about that." Ami added, smiling widely.

Sakura forced a smile, she didn't want to be rude, but her mind was currently occupied by something else, or rather someone else, "That's great."

Ino quickly noticed this and looked at the pinkette knowingly, "You good?"

Sakura nodded, "Yeah, my stomach's just not feeling the yogurt today." She said, swallowing down the spoonful of yogurt, "I'll just eat this apple instead." She shrugged.

"Well, I'm heading out, gotta quick 15 minute meeting with the team before classes, so I'll catch y'all later," Tenten told them, picking up her tray before heading out. It seemed that she had coordinated with the soccer team table because she quickly caught up with Neji and the boys.

If Sakura wouldn't have been so preoccupied with her own dilemma, she would have noticed Ino's nervous demeanor, "I-I also have something to grab from the dance studio before class, so, I'll just see you beauties in class in a bit."

Sakura mindlessly nodded, before realizing what the blonde had said, "Did she say she was going to the dance room?"

Ami and Hinata nodded.

The pinkette quickly got up, the chair scraping the floor abruptly, "I'm going to catch up with her, I have to drop off my bag and ask coach about traveling for our first competition."

Sakura easily caught up with the blonde but before she could turn the corner to finally catch up to her, she realized Ino was not going towards the dance room, she was going the complete opposite hallway.

It all made sense when Sakura saw Ino meeting up with the boy she had supposedly not talked to since last Friday. Sakura smirked, realizing Ino had been sneaking around doing who knows what with Shikamaru.

"New target you're spying on?"

Sakura's heart nearly jumped out of her chest, turning around to glare at the usually brooding Uchiha, "What the hell, Sasuke?!"

He wore the same charming smirk that drove her insane sometimes.

"I thought you were in a soccer meeting." She continued when he didn't say anything.

His smirk only grew accompanied by an amused eyebrow, "Still keeping tabs on me?"

She rolled her eyes, "Dream on, Tenten told me the soccer team had a meeting, and last time I checked, you were their water boy." She teased, knowing full well that Sasuke was anything but the water boy.

His smirk slightly faltered, but he still held that amused glint in his onyx eyes, "It was Hyuuga's turn to lead, and since I already know what he's going to tell them, I got bored and left."

"How on brand of you," she mocked, making her way around him to leave.

Sasuke let out a small chuckle, but let her walk right past him, "I talked to Itachi. More than talked actually, I went home with him this weekend and we... bonded." He told her, kind of, awkwardly.

Sakura stopped, and turned back to look at him, "That's great. I'm glad you guys patched things up." She told him with a small smile, suppressing the grin she wanted to plaster on her lips because she was really happy that they were on talking terms. She turned back to continue her way back to the dance room, but like always, he caught her arm and held her in place.

"Sakura, I-"

The bell rang, signaling five minutes to the start of their first class.

Sakura pulled her arm away softly, "I have to do something before class, I'll talk to you later?"

Despite being eager to talk things out, she didn't want to have a short discussion of themselves in less than 5 minutes.

"Sure, I'll look for you after class."

She nodded with a tight smile, "Cool, see you in class."

Karin had a habit of doing things impulsively, acting on her emotions in a way that would benefit her. Part of her felt guilty about outing the pinkette, but the other part of her was glad she did because Sasuke deserved honesty. Granted, their split benefitted her in no way since she was no longer interested in a relationship with Sasuke (thanks to a certain shark-faced boy), but it gave her a chance to get closer to Sasuke. Being obsessed with the Uchiha for years made him a difficult person to forget, new boy in her life, or not.

The red-head knew she had no face to judge someone for being deceptive to Sasuke when she had done the same, which is why she debated on telling him or not. In the end, she went against her rational side and led with her emotions. She was angry at the pinkette's ability to take everything away from her so effortlessly. First taking Sasuke, then her position in the dance team, and Ino and Ami's siding with her was the tipping point. It was then that Karin decided to take everything back, one by one.

As agreed, Sakura met Sasuke after classes were over.

He stood across the door of her last class, looking at the stream of students eager to get out until she came into view, laughing at something Ino told her. Her eyes met his, and she quickly told Ino to go ahead.

"Hey," he started off, deciding he was in no position to be his normally closed off self, "How was class?"

"Meh, it was basically free period so I spent an hour interrogating Ino about...stuff," she shared, choosing to keep it short, "No practice today?"

He shook his head, "No, we had practice before breakfast today," he told her as they started walking down the hall, "Any place in particular you want to go?"

She thought about it, she really didn't mind, but she did know that they would have no interruptions off-campus, "We can grab a bite and go to the beach, the weather is nice."

And they did, they grabbed a to-go lunch from the cafeteria and Sasuke drove to the beach.

Sakura couldn't help but notice how nervous she was while waiting for their food orders, feeling as if Matsuri or even Karin might pop out of no where and skew them away from finally talking things out. It was as if she was afraid of losing something she was so close to finally obtaining.

"You didn't like your food?" The dark-haired boy asked, eyeing her nearly untouched sandwich when they reached a red light.

Sakura turned to him, with a small smile, "The foods fine I was just thinking and I kind of zoned out," she told him, taking a big bite of her sandwich to show him that the sandwich wasn't the problem.

He looked at her critically as if trying to read her before focusing his eyes back on the roads when the light turned green, "Hn, what's on your mind?"

Sakura swallowed her food quickly, "Nothing important-"

"Sakura, your thoughts are all important." He stated as if it was the most casual thing in the world and Sakura was glad she had swallowed that bite earlier because she would have been choking on it right now.

Instead, her face decided to heat up, indicating she was blushing as per usual when it came to Sasuke, so she chose to answer his question before she could make a fool of herself, "I was thinking of how stupid it was for me to choose a place off campus because I was scared of being robbed of this moment again."

Sasuke didn't look at her because he was driving, but she noticed the furrow of his eyebrows, "Moment?"

Sakura sighed, he probably wasn't aware of the times she wanted to come clean to him about 'spying' on him and ending up deciding not to because things didn't pan out the way she wanted them too, whether it be someone walking in, or someone getting to him before she could, it was always everything against her and the brooding Uchiha, "Yeah, there were so many times I wanted to tell you and talk things out with you, but something always got in the way."

"Hn, it's not stupid, I feel the same way," He told her, "It's partly why I wanted to talk to you as soon as I saw you."

"Partly?" She asked, wanting to know the other reasons for wanting to talk to her as soon as possible.

"Aah, that and I missed making this one annoying girl blush." He answered her with a playful glint in his eyes. A sight to behold because it was that rare.

Sakura gaped at him, but she couldn't help the butterflies swarming in her stomach, "Out of everything, that's what you missed most?" She couldn't help but roll her eyes at his answer.

"Mm, I guess there's other things I missed too," he added, now smirking as he parked near the pier.

Sakura grinned, "Oh yeah, like what?" She asked eagerly, hoping he would actually tell her.

He turned to her when he finally turned the engine off, "Why should I tell you?"

"Because I want to know!"

"Satiating your curiosity doesn't sound like a good reason for me to disclose this information." He retorted smugly, leaning back in his seat.

"But it concerns me so you should tell me," she persisted.

He shrugged, "Plus, I don't think you could handle it."

She scoffed, "Try me," she challenged before pouting again when she saw Sasuke remained unbothered, "C'mon tell me!" She whined.

Sasuke looked at her, thinking she looked adorable with that unconscious pout on her lips, "Cute." He mumbled, "Finish eating and I'll tell you."

She looked like she was going to say something, but she huffed instead, taking another bite of her sandwich, "Fine but only because I really want to know and this sandwich is pretty good." She continued, showing him her nearly finished sandwich. Sakura was only able to eat this fast because she hadn't eaten anything for lunch and she was starved, "Done!" She cheered for herself, "Now you have to tell me," She grinned, happy that she was going to hear what he had to say.

"Are you sure?" He asked, trying to be serious, but she knew he was teasing her.

"Yes, I ate the whole sandwich for this!"

Sasuke leaned closer to her, reaching to wipe the left over sandwich crumbs, "For one, I missed being this close to you," He told her, swiping his thumb across her lips, "Tasting your lips," he continued, leaning his head down to capture her lips with his in a teasing manner, kissing her long enough to enjoy, but short enough to leave her aching for more.

And sure enough, Sakura wasn't satisfied with the seemingly small peck he gave her, she wanted him to kiss her harder, so she pushed him back on his seat again and climbed over to straddle him, "I missed that too, but I missed this more." She kissed him with no limitations, parting her lips when he began nibbling on her lower lip and letting his tongue into her mouth.

Sasuke didn't know what type of enchantment this girl had put him under but kissing her only made him crave for more when he was the type to have self-control.

His hands gripped her hips, occasionally lowering to her thighs, "I missed touching your freely like this," he told her in between kisses. She moaned into the kiss when she felt him caressing her bum, and Sasuke knew this was what gave her the okay to take things further because she took it as an indication to go on.

She rocked her hips against his, feeling him hardening beneath her core. It was like the situation they had in the closet, except this time, Sakura knew exactly what she was provoking.

Sasuke stilled her movements again, "Sakura, we have to stop." His voice was strained as if it was taking all his will power to stop this.

But Sakura didn't want to stop, "It's okay Sasuke, I want this as much as you do," she whispered breathlessly against his neck.

"There'll be time for this when we get back to the dorms," he managed to say despite his body wanting the complete opposite of what he was about to say, "We have to discuss what we originally came here to do."

Sakura couldn't help the bitterness when she remembered this wasn't the first time Sasuke stopped things from going further, but she understood he maybe wasn't in the mood, "You're right, we have stuff to clear up." She agreed, taking her seat back on the passenger side.

Sasuke thought Sakura was an open book when it came to wearing her emotions on her face. It was as if everything she felt was expressed automatically without censorship. He was grateful he was already a good reader, but with her, it had become second nature. So it was beyond evident to him that she was upset, "Sakura, look at me."

She looked at him like a kid ready to be scolded, "I know, I'm sorry, I get it. You're just not in the mood, it's cool."

"Not in the mood?" He asked. Sasuke knew he had a habit of making things come across ambiguous for everyone around him, but he had a hard time believing his difficulty of maintaining his self-control wasn't obvious.

She nodded, "I know I'm not the easiest on the eyes, but-"

Sasuke furrowed his brows, this girl would be the death of him, "Sakura, you have no idea how difficult it is for me to control myself around you."

"What's so bad about losing control?"

"Be careful with what you're asking for."

For some reason, this irritated Sakura. It was as if he thought just because she was a virgin she didn't know what she was getting herself into. As if she was some naive girl unaware of the concept of sex, "Just because I'm inexperienced doesn't mean I can't handle myself."

"That's not what I mean," He tried explaining but she only rolled her eyes, "You deserve more than a quick hook up in a car, especially for your first time."

First time, she couldn't help but scoff, that's what he thought when he saw her, "Was your first time magical?" She couldn't help but ask in a tone dripping in sarcasm. In reality, she didn't want to know the answer if the answer was yes. Deep down she wanted him to say that it wasn't because she didn't want him to have 'magical' memories with Karin. Sakura knew she was being irrational because all of this probably happened before she even came into the picture but she couldn't help but think of Karin's words that had made her feel this insecure in the first place.

Sasuke sighed, deciding to put an end to her racing thoughts, she probably thought he had a list of people he's slept with when it was far from the truth, "If you're asking if I've had sex with Karin, or any other girl for that matter, then no, I haven't, so I can't answer your question."

Sakura stayed silent for what seemed like an eternity. It wasn't something she expected him to say, but she could only try to do damage control at this point, "I wasn't- I didn't mean that-"

"It was written all over your face, Sakura," he stated flatly, "You should ask things like this more directly, it would save us both time and misunderstandings."

Sakura wanted to die of shame, she had been so unfair to him. She had accused him until he had no choice but tell her she was just as inexperienced as her. She felt like shit for pressuring him earlier when he might have been uncomfortable and nervous about losing his virginity and she had been only thinking about herself, her ego and her insecurities, "Sasuke, I had no idea, and even then I shouldn't have pressured you into doing something you- we aren't ready for." She started, beginning to realize she was only eager to take things further because she thought she had to prove herself to the red-head that had only lied to her.

It wasn't that hard to figure out who filled her head with those thoughts, he had known Karin for far too long and knew how sly she was, "I have gone further than making out with girls before, but its never gone to that extent," He explained. Usually, Sasuke wouldn't care too much about clearing the waters, but he figured now was a good time to do so because this wouldn't leave the pinkette's mind otherwise, "That was before meeting you-"

Sakura knew she didn't have the right to ask him about his past because it shouldn't be affecting her this way, "You don't have to explain to me, it was in your past, and I should accept it as it is, your past." She told him, and she genuinely meant it. She couldn't live in the past because it would make her an insecure mess.

She often wondered if having someone like Sasuke as her boyfriend would be worth it. He would always be the center of attention to the female population in any room he stepped foot in. It was just his natural charm. A charm that made her insecure.

"Is there anything else on your mind?"

She shook her head, "I just wonder why you're with me, sometimes I can't even stand myself... and there are so many other girls out there wanting to be with you, what's so special about me?"

What's so special about you? Sasuke looked at her incredulously, she wasn't serious was she? Maybe it was the way her small unintentional smiles made his knees go weak. Or how her smile could brighten up his day. Maybe it was the way she tried to make light of his relationship with his father and his brother. That she cared enough to make him make amends with them.

All the girls interested him always cared about two things, his looks and his status. It was always so superficial. He never really minded because they never posed a threat to his walls, but Sakura was like a storm, breaking through every single one of them. She didn't care if he could have her expelled with a snap of a finger or made her life a living hell for the rest of high school. Despite her obvious dislike for him when they met, he had never found a person who made him open up to her with such ease. He struggled to talk to Karin this openly in spite of having known each other since they were in diapers.

"Sakura, I'm with you for many reasons and yes there's a lot of girls interested in me, but I'm with you. I chose to be with you and not with anyone else." He chuckled lightly, "You're not a difficult person to like."

"Did you bet on me because you thought I was easy?"

Sasuke didn't have to think too hard, the answer was simple, "No, I did it because I didn't want anyone else near you."

Sakura snorted, but Sasuke still wore the most serious face ever.

He shrugged, "At the time I was still in denial, so I thought I would just do it because it would be fun to annoy you."

She whacked his arm, "That's your idea of fun?"

"You seemed to be having fun getting on my nerves, thought I'd give it a shot." He joked.

Sakura rolled her eyes in a playful manner, "You're so annoying."

"That's my line," he mumbled, but then continued, "Gaara only joined me because Taka and the others would have gone through with it. We weren't actually going to go through it, but then they started pressuring us for progress and things were tense between Gaara and me so we somehow became competitive over winning. Regardless, we shouldn't have gotten involved."

Sakura nodded, "I also shouldn't have gotten involved working as Itachi's reporter. I thought I was helping him get closer to you." She explained, "It wasn't in my plan to like you or anything if anything I thought I'd always dislike you because you were such a rich boy."

Sasuke scoffed, and she continued, "So entitled to get your way in every situation, and being so accustomed to having people doing your every wish."

"Is that why you always go against everything I say?"

She grinned, "Partly, but not entirely. It's also fun just to get on your nerves." She shot back.

He chuckled, "Chances of you going against everything that I say?"

"Depends, shoot your shot and find out."

"I want to make this official."

To say Sakura was taken aback was an understatement, she had not expected him to make the first move. She thought she would have to push a confession out of him, so she had very low expectations of this ever happening if she didn't make the first move.

"Ever heard of asking?" She teased.

He smirked, he didn't expect anything less from the pinkette, "Haruno, do you want to be my girlfriend?"

She pretended to think, "I don't know I'm going to have to get back to you on that one, I don't know which Haruno you're referring to, Uchiha."

"Sakura," he corrected himself, using her actual name this time, "Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

She grinned, pulling him down by the collar, "Only if you kiss me," she answered when she had him face-to-face before kissing him.

A/N: Hey lovies, lmao Sorry I'll stop

...so as you may have started noticing this story is soon coming to an end and I think it's long overdue by now, its been literally half a decade (I know crazy) and I have moved on from my high school fic phase, not that there's anything wrong w hs fics coz i still read them lmao but I feel limited in terms of what I can do with this story. In my opinion SasuSak have been thru enough hs drama, idk maybe I'll make a college sequel but i doubt it.

Initially when I started this fic, I was in high school but I'm in college now and my tastes in writing have changed and I did think about ghosting my readers since I didn't think there was anyone who really cared ngl, but that wouldn't be fair to them or to me, which is why I decided to close this chapter of my life the right way: by completing this fic. At this point, many of the dramatic Telenovela plot twist I had planned to implement in this fic no longer seem necessary to complete this fic. I will have a few more chapters before this story comes to end and I'm still wondering how I'm going to end this story, so if you have any requests you'd like to see with the characters lmk, or any lose ties you want to make sure I clear up before closing this fic just leave it in the reviews and I'll try to implement it.

Also I love answering questions so if you have some, leave em there and I'll get to yours in the next update!

Thanks a bunch to those who still read this fic! And now to answer some reviews!

NaLuForever16: You're review made my day c:

guest: I hope this chapter answered the cheating question! Also, I think Sasuke is affected but he just wants to save face coz he's Sasuke, ice king. I also don't get to write a lot of Sasuke POV bc I write mostly from Sakura's perspective but I've been trying to describe his feelings more in this chapter!

Uchiha Sarada1: Yes Kiba sucks at timing!

WoEmi: thanks for reading my story boo, hope ur staying safe too!

Guest: thank u, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Take care too!

Eliana Hurlock: tbh I had a lot of drama in store for them, if you've ever watched Rebelde (the Telenovela this fanfic is based on), InoShika was supposed to pan out like Mia and Miguel, but I don't think it will happen rn coz that's a very extended plot that needs many more chapters to unfold but rn idk
