Honesty is Chaos
*Hermione's point of view*
I hear a bird chirping and open my eyes. I guess I passed out on the porch last night. I sit up half way and notice a blanket on me. I pull it off and wrap it around my shoulders. I look down on the ground and see the red ring box. I grab it and walk inside to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Krum is sitting at the kitchen table, reading the Dailey Phophet.
"Afternoon," he looks up smiling from the paper.
"Afternoon?" I mumble, walking over to the coffee.
"It's noon, did you sleep vell?" He smiled, sliding a pastry to the empty space next to him.
"Sorry, I guess I was exhausted," I said, sipping the coffee. I walk over and sit down next to him.
"You looked comfy so I just brought you a blanket," he smiled, putting the paper down.
"Thanks," I smile weakly. We sit there for a moment in silence, I look up at him and he looked back. "So, I think we should talk," I said, standing up from the table.
"Hermione, the ring answer can vait. I vant you to take your time. I don't vant your decision rushed," he said seriously, standing up from the table. He picks up the box and hands it to me. "This is a promise, my promise to you to take care of you and love you for the rest of our days," he said sincerely. "It's a big decision and I understand that."
"It's beautiful Krum," I said opening the box and looking at it once again. "But, I can't accept this, I want to be honest with you, I don't feel the same way that you do. Believe me, I care about you very much but, I can't give you the love you want because it belongs to someone else. I promise it's not about the girl you were with. Yes, it hurt me when read those letters and at the time I was devastated. But, I came to the realization that I'm not upset about that. I thought I had to be devastated about it because of all the time we've been together but, it wasn't that after all. When I was talking about it with Harry, I think I was yelling about her letters, but I was crying and angry over something else."
"Vhat do you mean?" He whispered sorrowfully.
"I have to tell you something," I said softly, gracing the ring with the tip of my finger. "Last night during your Quidditch game, I did something."
"Vhat did you do?" He asked puzzled, touching my arm.
"I was.. intimate with George," I said softly, looking up from the ring to him.
"Hermione, what's going on?" George questioned, causing me to gasp. I drop the box and the ring falls out in front of George. He picks it up and looks at me with a devastating look.
"George!" I said surprised, "it's not," I started to say before Krum took out his wand, he raises it and roars, "Crucio!" A red light shoots from his wand and George jumps out of the way. The spell hit my desk, making it explode and sending papers everywhere.
"Krum!" I scream, reaching out to grab his arm, he pushes me and I hit the ground. He looks down at me and his rage instantly disappeared. "Hermione, I'm so sorry I just seen black and," he started to say before getting hit with a spell, sending him through the kitchen window.
"George!" I scream, running to the window, "stop!"
"Hermione! He sent the spell at me first! What is happening, why were you holding that ring?" He yelled, bleeding from his forehead.
"I don't have time for this right now!" I yell, running outside to Krum. I run outside to where the shattered window was and see him on the ground. He groans and rolls over from his back. He pulls a large glass shard out of his arm. Blood spurts out like a volcano and I grab it the wound.
"Krum, stop! Let me go grab my wand, " I said, ripping a piece of his tattered shirt and wrapping it around his arm. I couldn't try and heal this without my wand but I'm scared my mind will not be focused enough. I stand up and see George standing on the porch.
"Hermione I'm sorry I didn't mean to," George said regretfully, "something just took over I don't know, I'm sorry, can we just talk, " he pleaded before begin sent into the glass door. I look back at Krum who looked at me before his eyes rolling in the back of his hand and collapsing to the ground. I race to the porch and grab my wand. I go to Krum and untie the shirt. I wave my wand, "Vulnera Sanentur," I whisper and watch the wound slowly heal up. I get up and race to the door where George went through and see drips of blood trails to an empty spot on the floor. He's gone. I sigh to myself and go back outside to Krum.
I wave my wand and a pink light comes out, lifting Krum's body. I walk towards the house and set his body on the non-covered glass couch.
"Scourgify," I whisper, as cleaning tools starts cleaning the mess. I walk over to Krum and check his pulse. Normal. I walk over to the kitchen table and sit down, placing my head into my hands.
"So, I'm guessing I decided to pop by at a bad time?" Harry said, holding a dish of some sort, smiling weakly.
"Oh, Harry," I said relieved, with water filling my eyes. I race over and hug him. "I'm so glad you're here."
"Sorry I just walked in but, your door was missing didn't think you would mind, he laughed, sitting the dish on the counter. The blink of my over filled eye caused the tear to fall and it burn my cheek. I wipe my face and sit down at the table.
"Hermione, what happened?" Harry said seriously, looking over at Krum on the couch, passing the broom, sweeping the glass shards.
"George," I say defeated. Laying my still wet cheek on the counter.
"I guess a lot has happened since our dinner?" He questioned, taking off his jacket and sitting next to me.
"Honesty is chaos," I mumble.
"Yes, but, you have the most reward in the end right?" He smiles, laying his cheek across from mine. I smile and sigh. He rests his hand on my arm,"So, what happened?"
I lift my head off the table and I explain everything that has happened, before and after the dinner.
"He used Crucio? Wow, that's Bella like," he laughs.
"That's not funny," I mumbled laying my head back down on the table.
"I know, I'm just trying to process and keep the mood light after all of that," he smiled, holding up his hands defensively.
"You don't seem phased but any of this," I laughed.
"Hermione, I've dealt with You Know Who… how is this even in comparison," he chuckled.
"You're right, im sorry," I laughed with him.
"Look, when I met Luna, she was..different..," he laughed, "But, there was something about her that I was drawn to. It was like," he paused.
"Magic," I finished.
"Yes, exactly!" he smiled. "So, don't let your magic go with George, it's a rare find." He sits back on the couch and smiles. "It's funny our life is all about magic, we don't realize that love is a magic muggles even have," he smiled.
"So, intuitive, you are," I smirk.
"You have to talk to George," he says, standing up from his seat.
"I know," I signed looking over Krum.
"I'll hang out here, you go," he offers, walking over to Krum.
"What, are you sure?" I say surprised.
"Go, figure this out, Viktor will be ok," he assures me walking over to him."
"Thank you Harry, for everything," I said.
"Always," he says smiling.
Always
