The air was tense as Oichi and the army came face to face with the combination army of Terrera and Illusio on the outskirts of the kingdom. The size of the opposing army was about three times bigger than Aurora. Notable officers and Pokemon such as Yukimura with his Charmeleon and Pignite, Aya with her Snorunt and Cubchoo and Kanetsugu and Kadabra and Kirlia took to the field to size up their enemies before them.
"Oh, how adorable! Their army is so small and cute that it's wonderful." Aya commented with a sly grin.
"I don't see Lord Kiyoto and Lady Kiyoko among their ranks. They must be watching from the sidelines while their loyal warriors are fighting for them. Such a dishonorable and cowardly move for a warlord to make!" Kanetsugu remarked. Yukimura stared out at the battlefield, thinking up a battle strategy when Kunoichi and Scraggy appeared next to him.
"Lord Yukimura, I'm back from my mission~" she said with a cheerful tone.
"Oh, Kunoichi, how did your mission go?" Yukimura asked.
"I am sorry, it seems I failed this mission this time." Kunoichi said.
"It must have been a difficult mission, but you did your best, Kunoichi and that's all that matters."
"Hehehe~ Lord Yukimura, you're so kind. I want to join this battle by your side."
"Of course, we need all the help we can get. I hope that Lord Shingen and Lord Kenshin are observing us closely during this battle." Shingen and Kenshin were watching from atop a high cliff where they had a clear vantage point of the entire battlefield. Under the influence of Gallade's telekinesis, they can communicate with their respective armies telepathically.
"I see, thank you Yukimura." Shigen promptly turned to his rival.
"They noticed the twins' absence from the army." he said to him.
"It doesn't matter now. A battle is still a battle. Let us just see what their army is capable of without their leaders." They turn their attention back onto the battlefield. On the battlefield, the two armies were waiting for the first move. They were ready for the battle with tension building up. That tension frightened Oichi a bit, but she remained calm as she knew that she had her partner and friends with her and was ready to fight alongside her. She briefly prays that everywhere the twins went, they will return safely. Raising her hand for all to see, she finally gave the command.
"Army of Aurora, Attack!" she cried out. The Aurora warriors and the Pokemon charge towards the enemy army.
"Army of Terrera!" Yukimaru shouted.
"Army of Illusio!" Kanetsugu called out.
"Attack Now!" Both armies clashed with each other as the long-awaited battle between Aurora and Terrera-Illusio had finally begun.
All the while, trouble begins stirring in the heart of the twins' original kingdom, Aurora. Big thunderclouds loom ominously over the small kingdom. The residents, warriors and Pokémon took notice of the strange unnatural event. Aoi who was stationed in Aurora at the time sighed to himself. His Mudkip which had just evolved into Marshtomp notices his partner's worried expression.
"Something's wrong with the weather today." he said. A flash of lightning flashes across the darkened sky. Inside a room, Kiyoto and Kiyoko and their Pokemon partners appear out of the light.
"Where are we?" Kiyoko questioned. Kiyoto stepped out onto the balcony of the room and noticed the familiar landscape before him.
"We're back in Aurora." he answered. Then a sound of thunder echoes across the sky as black ominous storm clouds start rolling in.
"And something tells me that this is more than a battle against Terrera and Illusio." Kiyoto went over to a nearby table which had paper, writing brushes and ink and begin writing messages
"Kiyoko, have Milotic alert the warriors and Pokemon here in Aurora."
"Right. Come on, Milotic!" Kiyoko and Milotic exit the room to carry out the order. After he finished writing, he put the papers inside of a messenger tube and tied it to Pidgeotto's leg.
"Pidgeotto, fly as quick as you can to the three nearest kingdoms." With a quick nod, Pidgeotto took away through the open door and flew across the sky. Kiyoto watches for a moment before he rushes to join his sister.
Flying under the cover of the storm clouds, a swarm of flying type Pokemon appeared overhead with their partners riding on their backs. A young man donned black and silver armor with a green coat, a kabuto helmet with a crescent moon shaped maedate and wore an eyepatch over his left eye, He rode ahead of the group on a Braviary. The leader of the flying group was none other than Masamune, the leader of Avia and his Pokemon partner Braviary. He smirked when he looked down at the denseless and peaceful kingdom.
"So, this is the Kingdom of Aurora? This looks like an easy picking to me. Those so-called twin lords are losing their grip if they left their main kingdom this defenseless. Soon I will prove my superiority to that man and all those who look down upon me." he said.
"Now, everyone attacks-!" Masamune was interrupted by a speeding shadow which nearly caused Brivady to throw him off of it's back.
"What the hell was that? Grr, they will pay for that." At the same time, traversing the ground, a large group of ninjas was quickly approaching the same kingdom. Most of the Pokemon in this group consisted of poison-type Pokemon. Leading the charge of this silent group was a female ninja with short brown hair and blue eyes. She wore a yellow and black bodysuit with a blue scarf and golden gauntlets and sode spaulders. A Goldbat was flying closer to her at the same lightning speed. Her name is Nene, the warlord of Viperia and her Pokemon partner, Goldbat. Another notable warrior was another armed ninja who wore black and gold robes with golden sode spaulders. His face is hidden by a black cowl with a golden happuri face mask in the shape of a Haunter. A Spiritomb and a Haunter were floating closer by him. He is Hanzo, the second in command of the Viperia army and his Pokemon partners are Spiritomb and Haunter. They stop just short of the border around the Aurora Kingdom.
"It seems unfair to be attacking like this when it's so defenseless like this, but orders are orders. Time to raid this kingdom." Nene said to Hanzo. Hanzo responded with a simple nod. Suddenly, a series of heavy bells ringing and thunderous drums pounding sound off into the air
War cries erupted throughout the entire kingdom in unison.
"What the-?" Nene wondered. Stampede of warriors and Pokemon alike gathered with messagers rallying for defense. Kiyoko and Milotic start issuing commands immediately to the people and Pokemon who gathered before her.
"Defend the northern and southern gates. Do not let one enemy into your vicinent. Those with flying type Pokémon and have your partners search the sky for any signs of intruders." she declared.
"Yes, Commander Kiyoko!" The group answered in an uproar. Nene and Goldbat were nearly impressed by the size of the army who responded to the sudden call to arms while Hanzo and his Pokemon remained kind of indifferent to it.
"Oh gosh, the info we got was totally wrong. To think, there would be this many warriors left when the main army is in Pugilius." Nene remarked. Suddenly, the ground beneath them started to rumble and quake.
"Move!" Nene commanded. The ninjas barely dodged an underground attack by a group of various Ground-type Pokemon. The ninjas were ousted out of their hiding place and into the open, now in plain sight of the enemy.
"There they are!"
"Invaders, get them!" Once again, another stampede aimed at the ousted Nene, Hanzo and their troops.
"Retreat." Nene shouted, bewildered by the crazed frenzy. While the ninjas were holding off the incoming stampede, Nene and Hanzo tried to climb over the castle wall, in order to attack the inside of the castle.
"Ice beam!" A ray of blue light shot down from above, encasing their foothold in ice. Nene slipped on the sudden ice while Hanzo jumped off the ice-encased wall. Nene falls unto her behind, causing immune pain.
"Owowow, who did that?" Kiyoko and Milotic drop down from one of the castle's lower balconies and land before Nene and Hanzo. Nene and Hanzo came face to face with Kiyoko, one of the warlords of Aurora and she didn't look so happy. In fact, she was furious and upset by the inversion of the kingdom among other things.
"So, you're the ones attacking Aurora? As one of the warlords of this kingdom, you won't be getting away!" Kiyoko boldly declared.
"...Sludge Bomb...Shadow Ball..." Hanzo said. Without hesitation, Spiritomb and Haunter begin to attack by using Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball respectively.
"Milotic, Surf!" A great wave emerges from underneath Milotic who sends the wave towards the two Pokemon, canceling out the incoming Sludge Bombs and Shadow Balls. As the wave quickly approaches them, Golbat dives in between Spiritomb and Haunter.
"Oh no, you don't! Air Cutter, Golbat!" Nene called out as she got up. Golbat began to beat it's wings furiously as bluish blades of energy started to materialize. The blades shot out and sliced the giant wave into multiple sections, rendering the water into mist. Golbat continued on with an Air Cutter as it aimed at Milotic.
"Keep dodging, Milotic." Milotic manages to dodge, only to be sideswiped by a Sludge Bomb from Haunter. Some of the sludge residue got unto Milotic's eyes, temporarily blinding the Pokemon.
"Milotic, hurry up and get rid of them!" Kiyoko's tone turned harsh and commanding, almost startling Milotic as it never heard such a tone coming from it's partner. As Milotic desperately shake the sludge off it's eyes, Spiritomb's eyes glow with a blue light as it open it's mouth wide, releasing the dark purple cyclone of an Ominous Wind at Milotic. The cyclone sends Milotic soaring upwards as it inflicts serious damage unto the Pokemon.
"Air Cutter once again, Golbat." Golbat sent more Air Cutters into the cyclone, causing even more damage unto Milotic. Once the combined Ominous Wind was over, Milotic dropped to the ground, badly injured.
"Milotic!" Kiyoko exclaimed as she rushed over to her partner.
"Mil..." Milotic weakly lifts it's head and looks at Kiyoko with sorrowful eyes.
"Are you alright?" she asked. Milotic nod it's head and stand back up. Tears begin to well up into her eyes. Seeing her partner hurt, Kiyoko felt her confidence waning as panic and fear started to take hold of her. Mixing with the distress of her missing Eevee, Kiyoko begins to realize that she was putting too much pressure on Milotic.
"I am so sorry, Milotic..." Milotic nuzzles Kiyoko in a comforting manner. A shift in their bond occurred between them as their hearts began to link into a deeper bond. Kiyoko senses the feelings inside Milotic's heart. Milotic wanted to protect her, no matter what. To Milotic, she is a partner who treasures their bond together and will not let anyone hurt her.
"Milotic..." she whispered. She nodded her head and regained her smile. Both felt their shared determination renewed. A heavenly golden light starts to surround the pair. Kiyoko was surprised to see her body glowing and so were Nene and Hanzo. However, the glow quickly went away in a brief second.
"Let's do this together, Milotic!"
"Milot!" Milotic cried out. Suddenly, a blue aura surrounds Milotic and it seemingly heals the wounds that it sustains.
"Milotic is using Recover!" Kiyoko thought to herself. Nene and Hanzo notice this as well.
"Oh no, that's no good. Golbat, quickly use Crunch on Milotic!"
"...Shadow Ball, Haunter." Hanzo commanded. Golbat went in closer to Milotic as it's fangs grew longer.
"Milotic, Water Pulse and follow up with Aqua Tail!" Briefly stopping it's self-healing, Milotic manages to release two Water Pulses. Milotic spun it's body around as a spiral of water began to swirl around it's tail. With an Aqua Tail ready, it hit Water Pulse with all it's might and sent them hurling towards the enemies at a tremendous speed. One of the Water Pulses hit the rushing Golbat and the other smashed through the Shadow Ball and landed a blow on Haunter. Spiritomb, out of nowhere, got behind Milotic.
"Ominous Wind..." Hanzo said.
"Ice Beam!" Milotic countered the incoming Ominous Wind with an Ice Beam, turning it into frozen spirals.
"Ice Beam one more time!" Milotic shot out another Ice Beam that hits and freezes Spiritomb into a block of ice.
"Hit Spiritomb back with Aqua Tail!" Water spiraled around Milotic's tail. It lands a solid hit on the frozen Spiritomb, then twisted it's body around and launched the frozen Pokemon in the opposite direction into Golbat and Haunter. A panicked Golbat and Haunter receive a faceful of ice as all three Pokemon knock flat down on their backs.
"Golbat!" Nene called out.
"Haunter...Spiritomb." Hanzo said. All three injured Pokemon rise up and rush back to their respective partners.
"Oh, my poor baby Golbat...Let's retreat for now, Hanzo." Hanzo nodded and put out a smokebomb from a pouch strapped on his waist. He threw the smokebomb onto the ground, which burst into smoke upon impact. Both Kiyoko and Milotic begin coughing as they close their eyes from the surrounding smoke.
The ninjas begin a hasty retreat with their injured partners in hand. Watching her opponents fleeing, a sense of joy and elation well up inside of Kiyoko and Mitolic.
"You did it, Milotic! You're amazing!" Kiyoko cried out, hugging her partner.
"Mil, Mil~!" Milotic cheered. Fleeing from the battlefield, Hanzo was deep in thought until the usual cheery voice of Nene called out to him.
"Hanzo, what's the matter? You have your thinking face on." Nene stated. Her question was met with his usual silence, but she understood and continued.
"That light...do you think she and her brother have that potential to change everything?" Again, her question was met with more understandable silence.
"It looks like we have a lot to report back today."
Meanwhile, Masamune and his troop were dealing with a Pidgeotto who was zooming past them at incredible speed.
"Stop that flying annoyance!" Masamune commanded. By command, his warriors and their partners tried to stop the mysterious Pokemon. However, Pidgeotto weave in and out of the heavy clouds covering the sky, disorienting the opponents.
"Pidgeotto, Aerial Ace!" Pidgeotto flew straight up above the cloud coverage before flipping around and began descending with blinding speed. One by one, Pidgeotto struck down every warrior and their Pokemon with a streak of white light zigzagging behind the swift Pokemon. The falling warriors and Pokemon were caught in a widespread fishing net that was lifted up by Aurora's own flying troopers. Masamune gritted his teeth in anger as he watched his troops being captured. He finally sees one of Aurora's warlords, Kiyoto standing on the rooftop of the castle. "That's impossible. You're supposed to be in Pugilis right now?" he thought. It only took a moment to see that the other warlord was not going to surrender. The usual storic Kiyoto bore an intense aura of anger and irritation.
"I am Kiyoto, one of the warlords of Aurora. Attacking another kingdom is an act of war. I hope you are prepared to face me in battle." he shouted out. Masamune grit his teeth. The information that was given to him for this ambush was clearly false. He will strangle Magoichi later when he returns, but for now, this upstart thinks his partner can outspeed his own partner was downright infuranting.
"Braviary, descend." Braviary lands on the rooftop where Masamune jumps off his partner and glares at Kiyoto.
"I am Masamune, the warlord of Avia! When it comes to commanding the sky, Braviary and I are the undisputed masters! You and that Pidgeotto of yours don't stand a chance." Masamune proclaimed.
"We will see about that. I am not losing this land to any invaders, especially other warlords such as yourself. Pidgeotto, Aerial Ace!" Kiyoto commanded hastily. Pidgeotto quickly ascends upwards and flips over into a dive with blinding white light trailing behind it. Braviary took the hit head on, coming out unfazed by Pidgeotto's attack.
"Such a weak attack won't affect my Braviary. Braviary, use Air Slash!" Braviary's wings glow blue as it begins to flap them furiously, releasing an array of energy blades, aiming at Pidgeotto.
"Dodge it, Pidgeotto!" Pidgeotto tried it's best to avoid the incoming attack, but one of the Slashes landed and hurt Pidgeotto. Dazed by the attack, Pidgeotto tries to regain it's senses and tries to fly upwards toward Braviary.
"Pidgeotto, Brave Bird!" Pidgeotto's body glows blue as it flies directly at Braviary. Pidgeotto tries to land a hit on Braviary, only to it's opponent dodge every one of it's attacks.
"Keep going, don't stop your attack!" Kiyoto shouted, unable to see Pidgeotto becoming tired.
"What a pathetic attempt! Braviary, counter with Sky Drop!" During Pidgeotto's attack, Braviary latches onto one of Pidgeotto's wings, startling both Pidgeotto and Kiyoto. As Pidgeotto struggled to break free from Braviary's grip, Braviary ascended quickly higher into the air at a rapid speed. Then it descends at neck-break speed and throws the panicking Pidgeotto hard on the tiled roof in front of Kiyoto, leaving a crater as a result. In the middle of the crater, the wounded Pidgeotto struggles to get up, only to have Braviary come down and pin down Pidgeotto with it's talons.
"Is this the best you can do? Ha, to think that I thought you would pose more of a challenge." Masamune gloated.
"That man, he is truly underestimating my strength when he assigned me to defeat this weakling." Masamune thought. A wave of panic and dismay washed over Kiyoto. He realizes that it was his reckless commands that got Pidgeotto into this mess and now his partner is in danger because of him.
"I let my emotions get the better of me and now I can't save Pidgeotto." Kiyoto thought. Braviary applies more pressure onto Pidgeotto, causing the Pokemon to cry out in pain.
"Stop, don't hurt Pidgeotto!" Kiyoto cried out.
"Oh, then surrender this match and hand over Aurora to me." Masamune demanded. Kiyoto balled up his hands into fists and grit his teeth. Because of his recklessness, he has to forfeit his kingdom, in order to save his Pokemon partner.
"I am so sorry, Pidgeotto. I let you and everyone down." Kiyoto thought.
"I, Kiyoto of Aurora will-." Kiyoto said until his voice was cut off.
"Pidge, Pidgeotto!" Pidgeotto shrieked as it pushed against Braviary with all it's might. Braviary, startled by the sudden move, temporarily releases Pidgeotto who used multiple Wing Attack to swat Braviary away. Pidgeotto rushed towards Kiyoto to deliver a large of Pecks unto the young lord's head.
"Owowow, Pidgeotto, that hurts."
"Pidge, Pidge, Pidgeotto." Kiyoto knew that Pidgeotto was scolding him for being reckless and giving up so easily.
"Pidge, pidgeotto." Pidgeotto points toward Braviary and Masamune with a demanded look in it's eyes. Seeing his partner unwilling to give up, Kiyoto smiles as his courage and confidence returns to him.
"You're right I shouldn't be so reckless. Let's win this, Pidgeotto!" Pidgeotto lets out a loud shrill when a bright light engulfs Pidgeotto as it begins to evolve. As soon as the light dispersed, Pidgeot spread it's wings and took off. A golden light briefly surrounds Kiyoto and Pidgeot, letting Kiyoto feel Pidgeot's unwavering emotions and thoughts.
"This is amazing. Pidgeot, you have a new move!" Kiyoto said. Pidgeot answers with a nod.
"Let's show them what we can really do." Pidgeotto rushes toward Braviary with another Brave Bird, which hits Braviary.
"Braviary, hit back with Air Slash!" Masamune called out. Braviary unleashed a wave of Air Slashes.
"Pidgeotto, let's use your new move. Use Hurricane!" Pidgeotto flap it's wings and unleash powerful winds that soon funnel into a large and powerful Hurricane. The Hurricane deflects the Air Slashes and sucks Braviary into it's powerful winds.
"Braviary!" Once the Hurricane stops, Braviary crashes down onto the roof, confused and injured. Now, it's Masamune's time to panic. With Braviary heavily injured and confused, they were on the edge of losing the battle. Just then, a rumble resonates within the clouds as the round head of an airship with the mon emblem of the Aurora army poke through the clouds. Inside the carrier, there were many warriors and Pokemon eager to battle. In the face of a close defeat and a possibility of being surrounded, Masamune had no choice, but to retreat for now.
"Retreat!" Masamune called out to the remainder of his men.
"Braviary, come to me!" Snapping out of it's confusion, Braviary went over to it's partner. Masamune got onto Braviary's back and both took off into the sky.
"This isn't over!" Masamune shouted before disappearing into the clouds. Pidgeot returns to Kiyoto's side and nuzzles against Kiyoto's cheek.
"Thank you, Pidgeot. You really help win this battle." Kiyoto said.
"But we need to return to Pugilis. We have another battle to face together." Pidgeot nodded and the two left the rooftop to search for Kiyoko and Milotic so they could board the newly arrived airship to head back to Pugilis.
