Chapter 33: Family Reunion (Sort of)

Deku's P.O.V

I was walking to the lab with Ochako. She had talked about possibly making some new changes to her costume with designs from Melissa.

"These ideas should help out with my 2 quirks," Ochako explained, "I owe you for coming up with the ideas too." I smiled and took her hand. "Anything for my girlfriend." "Ahh, costume designs?" Asked someone.

It was Momo.

"Yaomomo," Ochako said, "What brings you by?" "Well, I had some costume design ideas for Shoto," she explained. Both of us grinned. "First name basis eh?" I asked. Momo blushed.

I opened the door to see somebody walking out with some equipment being taken out of the room. There were lots of people in strange suits. One of the scientists tried to stop them but to no avail.

"Hey you can't take that!" Melissa said, "This is very sensitive equipment!" She snagged one of the items back unharmed. Momo looked at a badge on one of the workers. "That badge….." She said, "That means…."

"David Shield!" Said someone walking in. He had on a business suit, and his eye color was the same as Momo. "How the hell are you?" David looked to the man. "Mr. Yaoyorozu," he said. "Yaoyorozu?" Ochako asked, "Then he's…." "My dad," Momo finished. "What do you think you're doing?" Melissa asked, "This lab is only for guests like Deku and his friends."

"Well, I'm here to deliver news," Mr. Yaoyorozu explained, "I am here to buy the island and its lab." The news shocked all of us. "Buying the lab….. but what about the hard-working scientists?" Asked Momo.

"Should they choose, they have the option to join my company which I am planning to bring back from the ground," he answered, "Truth be told I should've done this years ago."

His men continued taking equipment until security was called. One of them stepped forward with a badge. "Important businessman or not, I'm afraid we cannot let you take this equipment."

"This isn't about precautions for illegal experiments is it?" Melissa asked, "This is just another way for you to get rich. You should know that the people of I-Island are not willing to give up their home so easily."

She was right. A lot of people disagree with his decision. Mr. Yaoyorozu turned to Melissa. "You seem like a smart woman, and I bet you're smart enough to stay in line," he said walking to her, "A lot of people have been put behind bars for talking back to those who are superior. I'd be careful."

Mr. Yaoyorozu called his men to leave. "You've won this round….. for now," he said. As he walked out.

As soon as he was out of sight, the leader of the security guards started to glow. It was revealed to be Starla using her illusion quirk. "See that wasn't so hard," she said. She gave Melissa a high five.

"Starla figured something fishy was going on, so she went undercover," Melissa said, "A lot of people are on our side about this whole agreement that Mr. Yaoyorozu was trying to make."

Ochako was looking at Momo who was thinking about her past. "Yaomomo," she said waking her from her trance, "Everything ok?"

She turned to us. "Oh…. I'm fine," she said, "So…. Where were we?" "You had some costume ideas for Shoto." "Right," she said smiling.

While they were doing that, Ochako and I were having ourselves a sparring match. This was exciting for me as I was going to find out what she could do now that she has One For All. Ochako took off her favorite denim shirt and placed it on a chair, then she turned to me. "Don't hold back Deku," she said, "You give it your all!"

"Got it," I said. "En Garde!" We clashed at each other with our arms. Each of us kept pushing at each other refusing to back down. I saw an opening and did a sweep kick tripping her. She quickly got back up doing a flip.

Ochako then came at me with a right hook, and I blocked with an outer block getting ready for my "Open Locker, Shut Locker" counter.

I stepped back doing an outer block, then stepped forward doing an inner block. When she kicked I dodged, then did an upper block evading her down attack.

I channeled aura into my hand and pushed her back. "You're improving," she said, "But the time for games is over." She made something weightless and begun spinning around. It was one of her signature moves, Home Run. I jumped out of the way and landed behind her. "So you wanna play rough do ya?" I asked. I channeled aura into my hands.

"I'm not done yet," Ochako said. She came at me with small debris. Before she could get any closer I started shooting multiple fast-paced aura spheres. "Aura Style: Gattling Green Rush!" Ochako saw them coming and started to evade them by dashing and jumping.

"Alright," she said, "Let's see if you can take this!" She was starting to glow pink. "Remember to use a small percent," she told herself, "One For All, Gravity Cowl!"

Her reflexes enhanced as she used the OFA quirk. But to keep her body from damaging itself, she used a small percent. Using this, she managed to dodge my aura spheres much easier. She grinned and then jumped in the air. She then flew down with her fist. "Gravity…. SMASH!" The second her fist made contact with the ground some debris begun to float, and so did I.

It was almost as if she was controlling the gravity around her. She then took the floating debris and it floated around her arm that was glowing pink. "Tokyo Smash!" She did a punch and the debris was flying straight at me. I put my fists together making an aura barrier protecting myself from the attack. "Let's see if this support item really helps."

I clicked my arms together and the gauntlets came on. I came back at Ochako and we clashed with punches and kicks pushing each other back.

I then channeled up for a fully charged aura sphere. "Westerville….. BLAST!" I shot the sphere at Ochako and she got into a pose. She channeled up energy using One For All and punched the sphere hard, therefore deflecting it. It flew at me at great speed, and I had no time to evade. I fell down to the ground.

Ochako was worried about me. "Deku?" She said as she ran to my side, "Deku are you alright?" She patted my back to make sure I was unharmed. I turned over and begun to laugh.

Ochako playfully punched my shoulder. She then kissed me.

Someone clapped their hands. We both turned to see Aizawa and All Might….. I mean Yagi who were watching the match. "Good job Midoriya," Aizawa said, "Looks like you're learning to make your own techniques instead of copying All Might."

He then looked to Ochako. "Looks like One For All found a new host as well." She chuckled. "Its only thanks to Deku's notes that I'm learning so much how to control it."

Yagi took a look at the support item that I've been using. "A new item?"

"Yeah," I answered, "Its something to help with my stamina." "I see," Yagi said, "I actually used something like that when I was younger." I was shocked to hear that. "You used a support item?"

"Well yeah," Yagi told me, "It was something supposed to be used to help out when I used 20-30% of my power. It would've been alright if I was using long-ranged attacks, but due to the fact that I was a short-ranged brawler I ended up breaking it." He then turned into his muscle form.

"And so I got rid of the tech and became a hero with my own powerful body!" "Whoa, I haven't seen that form in a while!" I said.

He transformed back.

"While it is a good idea to use tech to help out with your quirk, try not to rely on it so much, that you can't hold your own when you lose it," Yagi explained, "A lot of heroes fell into that trap." "Right," I nodded as I turned to Uraraka who was drinking an energy drink. "Ready to go again?" I asked. She was surprised. "You didn't think I was done did you?" She smiled. "Nope!"

Bakugo's P.O.V

I was training with a punching bag with my quirk getting ready for the match with Sanjay. That guy thinks he's hot stuff, but I'll show him how its done.

I punched the bag hard and it fell and broke. I scoffed and picked it up. "Long lasting my ass," I said. I started to set up another bag to train with. Someone approached me and threw a water bottle at my way. I turned to see Starla. "Looks like someone's getting pumped for the challenge," she said as she smiled.

"Well, I gotta keep in shape for it," I said, "Its time I put Sanjay in his place." She sat by me.

"You know, he kinda reminds me of a certain headstrong guy," Starla said. "Really?" I asked. "Yeah, he's strong, fearless, but quick to anger," she answered, "Luckily I got to know him and he was a good person nonetheless." "IS this guy taller than me?"

"He is you dummy!" Starla said as she chuckled. I laughed at her comment. There was something I wanted to tell her about my past, and I figured I should trust her with it. "Say…. Starla?" I asked her. "Yes?" She said as she turned to me.

"If I told you something bad about me would you still be my friend?"

She was surprised that I asked something like that. "Of course I would Bakugo," she said, "Everyone's got skeletons in the closet." "And no matter how bad it was you'd still like me wouldn't you?" I asked. "OF course I will," Starla said. I sighed. "Ok."

I spent the next few minutes talking about a certain someone. My dad. No, not my step dad, Masaru. My biological father. For years I assumed he was a pro hero, until something happened that changed it all. After he was caught by the police and locked away, everyone teased me for being the spawn of a villain, and I was ridiculed at school and pushed around.

Needless to say, Starla was surprised by what she heard. "That's…. A lot to take in," she told me. "Yeah," Bakugo said, "I never said any of this out loud to any of my friends, including Midoriya." She set her hand on mine.

"But whatever happened in the past, that doesn't define who you are now," she said, "You're different from your father, and I have no doubt that you'll be able to become a great pro hero. Besides you finally managed to get your hero license after the makeup." "Yeah, but the readers don't need to know all that extra information," I said. "The point is, you're an amazing person, and people just need to see that like I do," Starla explained, "You have friends who are more than willing to help you on your journey. Just let them in." I smiled.

"So about our date, I was thinking we can have it after your little challenge, to celebrate," Starla said, "Deal?" I nodded. "Good," Starla said, "Well I gotta run. Yaomomo, Mina and I are having a girl's night out. But before I go…." She then walked towards me, and gave me a small, but tender kiss on my cheek. "For luck," she said as she winked. She then walked away. Kirishima was smirking and started to laugh. "Baku-bro, you're you mackin'." "Shut up!"
