Take me further down the forbidden path
hi everyone its been so long since i posted anything i know but here is a small chapter to kick up the dust again and ill keep more coming with as much juices that i have these days. its exhausting keeping up with everything going on but i'll do my best. Once more a small reminder this story has begun its own path with a different pace. The effects have made some characters and plots not as prominent.

Keeping the news of their pregnancy was impossible if you counted the fact that half they friends could sense it and the other half were dating someone that knew. Henry was the only one that they had to sit down with and explain how their true love was going to make him a bother. There was no rush to tell snow because as soon as she knew the whole town would know. The mysterious sister lurking about wasn't if any a good indication why they needed to keep it hush.
The pair tried to rely on Malificent and Lily to spot the green witch. Long lost Sister or not Emma wouldn't let anything slip for the sake of Regina's safety. This did not help any as halfway through the third day of keeping their guards up a pale red headed slipped into the dinner table with them durning lunch. Regina's face scrunched in fury and annoyance.
"Excuse me who do you think you are. I'm trying to have lunch not host the villagers."
"I am no one you ever held power over. In fact I know im stronger than you yet you received everything I even wanted and deserved." Instantly Emma gripped her gun yet to draw it as the dinner was full. "I was observing you after our encounter. It was quite obvious how clueless you are as you explained it to your lover that mother discarded me to keep me from rumplestiltskin. This is false I know the truth was mother was seeking power, she wished to marry a king but could not as she was not able to hide her shameful behavior. She laid with a man baring a royal crest hoping to bare his child and force him to wed her only to be played herself. He was not royalty and neither would she if anyone knew she had me."
"A truly riveting story but how can I trust you? I don't even know your name."
"My name is Zelena." At this Regina's expression falls she holds her hands to her mouth.
"Oh gods its true.. mother had this strange piece of jewelry she use to wear. It had a Z on it."
"Whatever, the point is you said you never wanted the duty she gave you as eldest child. That you wanted things that were simple and I remembered all times I watched you resist her or fell short, all the things you did as queen, and I realized that you weren't just spoiled. You were trying to break free an live you own way."
"Is this a trick you don't seem like the type rationalize anything I would say."
"No but you also wasn't a very rational person then as you are now a days. I shouldn't find what you said so important but I believe you. Which as strange as it is for you it is more so for me."
"I don't know Gina she isn't lying but I still find it hard to trust someone that just chucked you around a room a few days ago." Emma says leaning toward Regina. However a hand is raised pausing her concern.
"As do I dear but for the good of the town and Henry we should do what is best. Not fighting or destroying our home. How have you not been spotted by my lookouts?"
"Well your dragon friend almost spotted me thankfully the skin tone is just for show and varies on how im feeling." Emma eases slightly as regina caresses her thigh.
"How did you get here though we had a barrier." A wicked cackle escapes her lips.
"You two spotted the fiasco in town of the warrior and princess arriving but I happened to be watching in on Regina when you two invited them to come here. I simply watched, when they decided it was time I made my way to them, and locked on to the destination. Taking my own portal was easy it was directing it away from the town." It wasn't an exact location to where she had been staying but 'away from town' meant woods and farmland which was easy to look into. Emma wasn't completely satisfied but while Regina listened her tense shoulders had fallen so it was the only sign needed to leave the pair to talk it out.
The pair was an unlikely team but perhaps watching her sister confess to feeling hurt about her mothers actions must have been effective. Emma couldn't imagine if Cora had made her way here an instead Zelena saw her darker side again. Emma leaned back against the booth wall listening but not interfering. If Regina needed her she'd help but this seemed to be a moment of clearing the air not hostile sisterly rivalry.
"Say we believe you aren't going to hurt me anymore how do we know you wont lose your temper and try later. I just want to build a better life with my family, those I care about, and maybe that can include you?"
"One day but I feel like that's a long road. I've spent so long despising you for having it all. It's not like I can switch that off. You still have everything even now so.."
"Hardly! I mean I certain have Emma and our son but if you count non material things I'm as I was before except I have friends and family. I never cared about have any of the things i had. Mother want me to act like a queen so i did when she was looking. Eventually I got tired of getting the short end of things I filled the void with exactly what mother showed would make me happy."
Neither woman said anything and eventually Emma feels the need to ask again to clarify they were safe. Regina is shocked to see her long lost sister put out a hand as a promise. She takes it and grips firmly leaning in close.
"This is a pact. I swear if you break it we wont be sitting like this ever again." It was a chilling threat even Emma for herself nodding similar to Zelena.
"There is one thing though.. when I left I left in a hurry. I did however bring a small companion however Walsh was not to kind about backing off. He has seen to my temper many times towards you.
"So your saying he may not be as forgiving?" Emma asks put a little at unease.
"Yes he wasn't the brightest chimp but usually for what I needed he got the jobs done."
"Chimp? You're saying that your companion was a monkey? He cant be hard to find."
"You probably said the same thing about me sweetie." The endearing title caused a twitch in Regina's jaw. Emma smirked at her obvious sign of dislike for anyone else saying such things to her. "I turn him into a human again when ever it's convenient. I've only needed it a few times. Here seemed as good place as any."
"Regardless we'll find him. Give Emma a full description. I will be heading back to work if you not after me I hardly think I need a private guard." Emma opened her mouth to argue but Regina captured her chin pulled her into a kiss. Leaving Emma tongue tided a crossed from her sister before disappearing in a cloud of smoke.
Emma was happy to leave Regina on her own if things were much less complex than if Zelena was not after her. That however didn't Stop her from turning sternly towards said sister. She had the guts to smile at her. Even though Emma could tell the wickedness laced into the façade she could see she wore it much like Regina wore her own smiles at times. Once it was to hide Regina deepest feeling to protect resell from getting to close and hurting. Now she only ever kept those smiles for people she didn't trust or know.
"So if you don't mind?" Pulling out a notepad she waited for a description. Zelena offers a smile before giving all the details she could. Every bit that exited her mouth she only felt relieved that she may actually be one step closer to mending the worlds apart damage between them that had been in. Her head for so long.
"Emma?" She turns from exiting the diner to see Zelena almost soft in the eyes. "You the only one she might listen to. I really am sorry I judged her so easily with giving her a chance to be herself. I saw things she fought with mother about, people she used to get things, tossed and wasted so much as a queen I never stopped to think it wasn't as straight cut as it looked. To live a life you never wanted I know what its like I guess it just took hearing her say it to register how alike we are. Will you help me?"
"I'm not a fan of lies and mistrustful people. Your not lying at the moment but if you cross her I will make you regret ever arriving. If its as you say I'll try my best to help you. Now go home and don't cause any trouble go to the office in the morning you can get paperwork for your living arrangement filed."
"Thank you" Emma left not as magically and Regina did as she had driven but she suspected Regina needed that time it would take her to get back to her to think. On her way out she saw Mulan and Aurora having a drink together. The pair invited her to join which she said she couldn't stay long. The told her about the news with latest tests for the baby and al the interesting things they have been learning. Mulan specifically had been finding interest in some tv show that Ruby had introduced the them.
"I was part of a guard once and I know how to fight if I can er be of use to you as a trainee police officer let me know. It seems complicated but not impossible to memorize all the stuff they do."
"Well with people not civilized by the curse anymore there is a spike in things but nothing like your show. I could use you an let some of Regina's guards rest get back to former work if need be. I doubt it but lets get you to come by the station early next week. Give you some time to get comfortable. What have you been thinking of getting into Aurora."
"You mean I can choose.. I don't have to be stuck being just a mother… don't get me wrong just I always assumed if I did bare a child id never be given a chance to do as I pleased after that." Birth women knew Aurora wasn't exactly a push over so why would she think that.
"No this world has more freedom than you can ever get use to. It has its rules but as long as you don't do bad things we should never have an issue. You might have to study or apprentice with someone to get into what you want but you can do anything you like really."
They looked inspired with glee allowing Emma to leave them confident that they were going to keep doing well. As she left she dropped off the information off at the station with instructions of one search off and another on and headed out for patrol. This new search would be relatively easier as they were looking for a Normal man. From the sound of it he had some defects so she looked for chimpish posture, deep lines around his mouth, caterpillar eyebrows, and goes by Walsh.
Feeling like she was looking for a lost dog she became annoyed she wasn't seeing anyone that matched what zelena said. The more she thought about it the more she felt double crossed. Eventually she speed off towards the dinner to confront her to see she was gone. She now knew farmlands was likely where she hid so she headed off in that direction. If she had patrolled use a little more she may have noticed the man but the clock tower wringing achy hands his shoulders pull forward being let in to the library by Belle.
Instead once she found the a farmhouse that looked abandoned she stormed up to the property. She hammered the door. Let the woman open the door before shoving her to the wall. Pressed her forearm against Zelena's throat. Unable to breath Zelena patted her arm for relief. Her eyes begged for a moment. Emma gave it but only just barely.
"You cant lie to me now. I don't know how you did before but im not run a goose chase. Do you even have a rouge companion?"
"Y-yes I do I told you everything. He looks human but he has characteristics that of a primate. I don't know what else to offer you. Please I cant- breathe." Emma pushed harder for just a moment and then lifted completely. "I can come help you if you don't trust me. He may run if he sees me but I can offer my eyes."
Zelena rubs her throat to ease the throb she feels. Its not crushed so she expects she will be fine but she is beginning to think she misjudged the sheriff. As did many who expected her to be the savior. Emma didn't feel sorry she was here now in fact she was glad she could get Zelena back but she did however feel stupid for giving up just because she hadn't seen the man. Clearly he could be anywhere in town not just around hiding in the woods like some tree hugger.
"Alright but if he has chimp characteristics I think Ill need to know what I'm looking for. We'll head into town and make our way outward from there. I'm sorry I lost my temper on you I just don't like liars having someone get one over on me which very hard to do actually."
"Really? What makes you the queen of lie detecting? And it's my fault I came here giving you a reason to not trust me and then I show up with a truce out of the blue. It was bound to happen I just didn't expect it from you."
"Its my superpower actually. I might be the savior to everyone but I don't play like one."
With her coat now they leave the farm house. In the car she receives a radio call from Lily saying that she was following the instructions left at the office. Also that Mal was going to stay at the office until Emma or herself got back. The line was transferred back to the department and Emma drove of the middle of town.
Walsh heard the library door open and close. While he tried not to tense as he knew he saw the sheriff drive away he couldn't help it. It might be they were looking for him just as it might be likely that zelena missed him. She was his master and though sometimes she made him hate her she also was the driving force to his life.
The quite voices he heard grew further away and he was pretending to look at books about culture he could careless but he could get more done at night and unlike his mistress he had no where to hide in the mean time. Meanwhile Belle told Emma and Zelena of a strange man she let in not that long ago. She knew she had never seen him before in this world or the other but she wasn't sure he was dangerous until they told her their situation.
"You say he looks like I said? Where is he?"
"The far end of the library I think he is hoping to stay as late as possible." The three women share a look down the aisles. The mans slouched shoulders were visible even in the shadows. It could be assumed he was the man they were looking for but Emma needed Zelena to see him. She asked Belle to offer him anymore help while she lead Zelena the farthest aisle away and down to round his face.
Between the shelves they spotted his face where a simple nod told Emma the man was Walsh. As Belle kindly left the man alone she made herself scarce for her own safety. Not wanting Walsh to feel spooked enough to leave Emma rushes from behind the bookshelf and orders him to freeze. He tries to move to face her until she forces his arm behind him.
"Give me your other arm. It's over Walsh."
"Nooo! I was just taking care of the things that zelena wouldn't take care of."
"Probably should've taken it as a hint. You're being detained don't make it worse if you don't want to be arrested." Zelena stepped forward heart racing as she watched the tough blonde cuff her former minion. She barely noticed her reading Walsh his rights over the relief she felt that he was caught and her sister couldn't remain upset with her. She could but Zelena was going to prove to her she meant well from now on.
Emma asked Zelena if she needed a ride home but she had her own magic and waved the offer off. It wasn't until Emma had Walsh locked up that she called Regina and gave her the good news. Mal called lily back in while Emma relieved the other deputies working the manhunt. Walsh was to be watched though the night to ensure no more foul play. Emma was going to interrogate him in the morning.
"Well we all need a few drinks how about a girls night out." Emma looked up at Lily and wondered if tonight was a good night for that having just learned Regina was pregnant not that long ago. "Just one?"
"Yeah sure just one." I'll let Regina and Henry know ill be a few late for dinner. They head to the only bar in town The Rabbit Hole. After sharing a beer they let Emma go home. They could see why Emma let Zelena go, for Regina's sake, but they did not want leave it to hope in good faith even after hearing Emma out they took turns watching the farmhouse from afar. If a few weeks went by and nothing happened they might consider leaving small witch alone.
