Masters of the Vast Future
Author's Note: Hey everybody, as per usual I hope all of you readers continue to enjoy the story, and don't forgot to give me your thoughts on the latest chapters via Review or PM if you don't want everyone knowing your thoughts.

Chapter 27: The Roaring Blaze
At The Team Rocket HQ, several Rocket grunts are limping to the infirmary including Lyn who happens to have a broken arm and swollen jaw.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" One of the grunts asks as Lyn just smacks them for asking a stupid question. She quietly goes to a cabinet and pulls out a needle along with a full restore that has picture of a person on it. She tries to fill the needle alone but another grunt helps without question and injects their superior.
"Arg..." Lyn groans a little as her injuries fix themselves. She stretches out before finding the nearest water bottle and sucking down. "Next person who remotely undoes even one of the Girl's restraints, you better be able to put them back on yourself."
"Yes Ma'am." The grunts response quickly to her as she makes her way out. A female grunt look at the one grunt who got smacked.
"Dumb questions almost got yourself killed, idiot." Is what she says as Lyn smiled hearing that from corridor. It doesn't take Lyn long to get to the meeting room where she sees Jet, Dante, Iron Mask, and an Evil Joy, along with Jessie and James.
"Looks like I'm the last one here." Lyn announces. James looks at her.
"We can begin." James stands up.
"As you all know, this massive plan wasn't our idea but we all have reasons for furthering its completion." Jessie grabs James' hand at that as everyone bows their head except the Joy.
"Alright, can we get this over with? The sooner this is done, the sooner I can have my sisters back on our experiments." Dante looks at the woman with disgust in his eyes.
"You and your horrible sisters' experiments won't mean Marcargo dodo if we can get all of pieces in place...hell maybe you psychos might become normal again." Dante sounds like he trying to put the Joy in her place but she snickers.
"Little boy, we Joys have a long proud lineage that dates back two to three hundred years and your impurity disgusts me! Its almost like you're a dirty mutt trying to enter a Grand Festival with no ribbons!" Dante pulls his gun which only makes the Joy laugh. "Come on, do the only trick your good at!" Dante wants to shot her but a firm grip of his shoulder from Jet makes him stop.
"We have work to do. As much as I want to see her as a corpse, now is not the time." James nods at that.
"Precisely Jet. We have a golden opportunity to get some of our targets and we can't lose this window." James states as everyone nods and looks at a projection of Kanto Johto several points lit up including Mt. Mortar and Kanto Power Plant. "Now, your assignments are as follows..."
Around the same time on Mt. Mortar, we rejoin the squad of Zane, Blaze, Terra, and Brooke all getting their day started. In her tent, Blaze decides to start putting on something different from the battle girl outfits she has been sporting. Its a white v neck shirt that will only cover her breasts though it has a high chance of slips due to it being very low cut. She also has a pair of short shorts and is almost ready when out of nowhere, Zane whom is decked out in a black ace trainer outfit with light blue and grey trim.
"You are not wearing that." He says as a quick scream has Terra and Brooke bolt over and find the most awkward scene as Zane has Blaze's normal training out in his hands and he happens to be position from their view point he has just forced those clother off of his sister for she is on her butt in her white shirt and her half pulled up shorts.
"What the heck is going on here?" Terra asks, not sure what to make of the situation. Brooke finds her eyes wondering at Blaze for a moment but shakes herself back to reality.
"Look I know you love your sister but little sister complixes are so not this century." Brooke kids as Zane turns his head to see how this could look bad and he sighs.
"I'm so glad we camp away from the Karate King's place." He murmurs before straighten his posture. "Look, I was only trying to get her to wear something more proper for training and I must have not been noisy when I entered her tent and I scared my sister." He explains as Terra and Brooke nod.
"Okay that makes sense now." They both say though Brooke looks at Blaze.
"So what is wrong with what she wants to wear now?" She asks as Blaze want to answer as Zane just points at Brooke.
"People like you."
"Excuse me?" Brooke appears to have become snapy at the accuzation. Zane pulls out his phone and reveals several photos of Brooke staring at Blaze and Terra at different times.
"You are a curious explorer who hasn't any form of tact when studying." Brooke has a deep blush on her face as Terra has a nervous look on her face as Blaze looks pissed.
"How did you get these photos, Brother?" Blaze asks and Zane waves his finger at her.
"I have my secrets." Blaze's hair ignites at that.
"You have no right! I'm tired of you doing this."
"I am your brother and as your Brother I will keep you safe." They begin to argue.
"Safe? How is controlling everything I do keeping me safe?" She yells. He looks at her.
"I don't want you giving people opprotunities they don't deserve."
"So what if they'll see my boobs or stare at my ass?!" Zane looks a little upset.
"You can't just telegraph your body like mom does."
"Or what? I'll invite what happened to me when I was young?!" Zane looks shocked that Blaze would bring that up as Terra and Brooke aren't sure what they are going on about but they have a gut feeling they should break this up.
"Alright guys you need to calm down." Terra tries to say something but her tone was meek compare to the rolling fires that are before her.
"You are acting like you were the only one it affected Blair."
"Excuse me?! You haven't had people force you to do things against your will! I was powerless..." Blaze's flames tone down for a second but after a couple tears she flares back up. "I had it happen to me twice now that I can recall..." Zane pauses his emotion at that.
"What do you mean twice?" He asks. She still looks angry.
"I told you already...that Lyn woman...what she did made me have a resurgance of those feelings of powerlessness even if she didn't do anything close to those men." She says with more tears coming out. Zane walks over and isn't affected by her flames.
"That is why I am trying to protect you so no one else gets those ideas." Blaze pushes her brother away.
"You don't get it!" She groans throwing the shorts off of legs, and shirt off her chest before dressing herself in her usual Zane approved traveling clothes and burns her way out of her tent. Zane just rubs his forehead. He than looks at the other girls.
"I'm sorry about that and could you both please keep an eye on her? I think I'll give her space." The girls nod as Zane starts doing something on his phone. Brooke looks at Terra.
"I'm kind of glad I was an only child...sibling arguments seem rough." Terra nods at her friend as they head back to their tents to get dressed and set off to find Blaze.
A calm afternoon in Cerulean as a crowd heads into the gym. The stands are filled quickly as Misty splashes her way out of the water and onto the central rock formation. Her mermaid tail spilts apart and make a gleaming sarong.
"Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Sensational Sisters!" Misty announces as three more ladies leap out the water and land right next to her. The crowd roars. Misty looks at her sisters as they all have hair accessories mirroring another sisters' hair color. The blonde sister, Daisy has orange one, blue hair sister, Violet has pink one, Pink hair sister, Lily has yellows one and Misty has a blue one. They all dive right back in and begin performing a wondrous routine. A Primarina begins to sing as Dewgong, and Luvdics makes hoops of water and mist for the ladies to shoot themselves through. Gyrados wraps its tail around Blastoise and throws it into the air. Blastoise than sprays water out of its cannons and Staryu and Starmie spin around while shooting Swift stars making a visual breath taking show. A team of Golducks pop out of the water and start collecting water in balls as the ladies get out of the water for a minute. The other water pokemon funnel some more water attacks to the Golducks as each of the water spheres change colors with the help of the Dewgongs, Seel, Cloysters' Aurora Beams. They burst into a rainbow of snow and mist thanks to Seaking and Goldeen Horn Attacks and a Samurott's Razor Shell on the spheres and the ladies were dancing and posing a midst the moves. The crowd cheers for the ending of the performance. The sisters rejoin each other to wave to all of the fans whom enjoyed the show. Misty notices a couple familiar faces in the crowd.
'What are they doing here?' Misty ponders to herself.
Minutes later as Daisy and her other sisters takes on first time gym challengers as Misty is in a break room for no challengers have experience enough to face her due to her status as the third most powerful gym leader of Kanto only being bested by Sabrina, when she acting as Gym Leader, and Janine. A pair of ladies walk in. One is a dirty blonde wearing a maroon dress and the other is black hair wearing a white blosse and a spring pink skirt that goes down to her knees. Both are quite beautiful.
"Hey Misty!" They says as Misty smiles.
"I'm surprised to see you, Serena, Dawn." Misty greets them.
"Your shows are always enjoyable to watch." Dawn praises as Misty can sense an under tone to her friends popping up in her Gym unannounced.
"Thanks but you guys could let me know you were coming, we could have made a big show with the Kalos Queen and a World Class Coordinator." Misty says. Serena sighs.
"Sorry, this is a last minute decision on my end. Dawn was coming for her own reason and I tagged along." Serena states as Dawn scratches her head.
"Well, I was supposed to meet up with Lissa and Verity so I can help Verity since she still having issues with her mother." Misty raises an eyebrow.
"Who is Verity?" Misty asks as Dawn has that 'Are you serious' look on her face.
"Cynthia's daughter, she feels like she lives in her mother's shadow so Lissa and I decided to help her by distracting her with a vacation once I find them." Misty looks shocked just by the fact Cynthia has a daughter.
"Oh...I didn't realize Cynthia had a kid...great another potential harlot..." She says as she looks at Serena and a thought she doesn't like comes to mind. Serena looks at Misty.
"Don't worry, Lucian knows that she isn't into guys." Serena says, attempting to calm Misty. Dawn chuckles.
"I didn't think Misty heard you." Misty growls.
"Yes I did!" Serena looks away when Misty yells at Dawn. Serena rubs her arm.
'Maybe I shouldn't ask her if she has seen him.' Serena decides to not bother Misty when Dawn ruins that.
"Oh yeah, Serena. Didn't you have a reason for coming to see Misty?"
"No, I just wanted to see Misty is all." Serena so lied that Misty grabs Dawn by the shoulders.
"Could you go watch my sisters fight trainers? I think I know Serena wants to talk about...alone." Dawn nods.
"Okay, but you still owe me my one on one time with Ash." Misty wants to choke Dawn though she agreed to unique relationship with Ash before fully understanding what kinds of problems that may have entailed.
"We'll talk about that later." Misty gets Dawn out of the room. Serena can sense some stress building in the air. Misty dead eye stares at Serena.
"What is it you wanted to talk about, SE-RE-NA!" Misty asks although her tone is sour as Serena just sighs.
"This might be a weird question but have you seen my Son?" Misty actually pauses as a memory she dislikes resurfaces for a moment and it was of the day she found out about Ash's son. She only sighs as Ash's words ring through her head.
'I don't remember being with her before you...I swear I gave my first to you...I guess I've lied to you without realizing it...'
"I have not seen your kid...hell I haven't seen Ash for a month or so..." Misty sits down and looks really bothered. Serena nods.
"Thank you, I haven't heard from either of them since that Incident happened in Olivine." Misty looks even more upset at that way Serena spoke.
"Ash calls you?" Serena nods as Misty balls her fist. "Does he get straight to the point or do he actually want to talk talk?"
"Misty, is something that matter?" Serena doesn't want to answer Misty's rounds of questions so she asks one of her own.
"I don't know...lately he seems like he doesn't want to talk and if I press the issue I'm made out to be the bad guy..." Misty tears up a little. "And worst of all, I think he is trying to hide things from me again..." Serena doesn't know what to say as Misty cries. So Serena does the only thing she can do and puts Misty into her shoulder.
"Let it out..." Misty's frustrations pour out of her eyes as Serena begins to ponder a thought or two.
'What kind of relationship drama is about to explode between those two? Hopefully Aidan won't be dragged into this or anything with silly old Team Rocket.' The two women just alone as they continue to comfort one another.
Back on Cianwood a day or two later, the gang has finally got on to shore and they received the news that none of our adventuring trainers wanted to hear after being stuck on a ship longer than they should have been.
"WTF do you mean Bruno isn't here?" Surprisingly Rain outbursts at the gym attendant.
"Well he has order a remodel to the gym to give both trainers and tourists a fresh new site to visit in Cianwood." The attendant answers as Parker puts his hand on Rain's shoulder.
"Its alright Rain. I'm sure they know where Bruno went so we can still challenge him." Parker asks the Attendant.
"Of course, he does have pokemon on him and we do have badges to give since he or the league hasn't decided to update the designs for Johto region yet." Parker smiles.
"Thank you for your help and we'll be on our way." Parker says as he and Rain head outside of the gym to meet up with Lilly, Damien, and Violet. Rain looks around.
"Where did the others go?" Rain asks as Violet holds up her phone for it shows a text message.
"Basically, Anabel had to take Janic back for their Court case and she told Zero and Pietro to come with them." Lilly snatches Violet's phone though before she could look at the text herself, Violet already took it back. Lilly growls a little.
"Come on I want read it." Violet looks at her plant loving friend with a bit of annoyance.
"You didn't ask if you could. You just snatched it like a Munchlax after its second breakfast." Violet spoke as Lilly gets on her knees and begs for her forgiveness. Rain nudged Parker whom seemed distracted by another conversation he heard from some passerbys.
"Hey Parker. Do you have any idea where an old guy like Bruno would be around here?" Parker scratches his head.
"Possibly. Damien be the better person to ask since his mother worked with him as a member of the Kanto/Johto Elite Four." Rain raises her eyebrow.
"Really? I haven't heard him talk much about his parents." She says as Parker nod.
"That's because he rather not talk about his family life...it took me years for him to tell me and I only found out when I interuptted a phone call between him and his mom." Parker said. This has the girls collectively raising an eyebrow. Parker gets the feeling that he may be forced to speak about his best friend's personal life due to his truthful tongue.
"What did you find out?" Rain is the one who asked the question as Damien pops over and stuffs Parker into a shadow.
"None of your business, Lilly." Damien says right as Lilly steps in between the two for nothing to really happen and Rain walks away. Lilly scratches her head unsure of what is going on with Rain whom normally would rather strike an argument with Damien. Damien too was a little surprised though he is more focused on pulling Parker out of the shadow.
"I'm never getting used to that." Parker noted as they all head after Rain and begin to look for Bruno so they can challenge him in the midst of the Cianwood Cliffs and beach fronts.
Hours later over in Olivine, at the court house, several people are in the seats including members of the press whom are waiting for the Judge to appear as Janic and Anabel are sitting at the defense table. The attorney on the other side looks over at the two. Anabel's hand lays over her nervous son's.
"Its going to be fine." She says as the Judge and Jasmine come back into the court room. Everyone stands up and the attorney looks upset by the appearance of Jasmine.
"All may rest." Everyone sits down. The Judge looks at the defendant.
"Young man. I have reviewed all of the evidence..." Janic begins to worry more from the tone the Judge has taken. Anabel can feel Janic's increased emotions. "And I have come to the conclusion that you were acting in the defense of your friends, your Pokemon, and your own life. Thus I will proceed to drop the charges against you...you are free to go." The judge slams his gavel and a cheer comes from the crowd thanks to Peitro and Zero as Janic looks relived. They quickly head into the hallway with Jasmine so the other cases can be seen as the Attorney looked back at them with disdain for this loss before refocusing on his other cases on his work load.
In the hallway, Zero and Pietro are amped up to see Janic, who has some things still buzzing in his head. Jasmine and Anabel both put their hands on Janic's shoulders.
"I'm glad everything went well. So what is the matter, Janic?" Jasmine asked as Janic sighs.
"I don't think I'm over the anxiety of being in there and having to talk about something bad like that...in front of so many people..." Anabel nods at her son.
"I still don't get over mine when I have to be in a court room either, honey." Jasmine chuckles.
"You, a detective? Don't like being in a court room, Bell?" Anabel gives an awkward look to her friend.
"Of course! Getting cross examined and schretinized about your investigative skills or experiences in the field by people whom most likely never been in real trouble or ran from the first Beedrill swarm!" The boys laugh at that as Peitro smirks.
"Beedrills aren't that scary. A good Fire Blast and they go running." Peitro says. The Ladies giggle for a moment at that as they both wonder how many Beedrills he has done that to. Zero shakes his head.
"You always burn them and they scatter...I told you freeze them and they don't move anymore like their leader Bugsy!" Zero's comment made Anabel pause and look at him.
'Wait. He's the one that made Bugsy a ice cube and now he is in the hospital...figures I thought Silver just had his Glaceon punish Bugsy for some reason.' Anabel scratches her head.
"How's about we go get lunch and get back to the others in Cianwood by the afternoon?" She asks as the childish boys cheer but Janic looks at Jasmine. Jasmine notices him.
"Miss Jasmine, I challenge you to a battle!" Jasmine smiles at his sudden boldness.
"I will accept though I have some responiblities to take of first so you all go enjoy lunch and I'll find you at the Pokemon Center later." Jasmine bows and heads off back into the court room. Anabel looks at Janic.
"What is with the sudden urge to battle, Son?" Janic isn't sure how to answer his mother's question.
"He can sense something is bugging her and battles are the best way to vent your feelings if you don't have a theorpist." A familiar male voice interrupts and the group turn to see a causally dressed rocker, Ike. Janic looks surprised as Anabel shakes Ike's hand right after push her pony tail off her shoulder.
"Always good to see you, Ike." Ike smirks.
"Look just because I'm famous musican doesn't mean I Pyroar hunt." Her grip immeditately becomes tight like a Vicegrip.
"Do not take my compliments that way just because of a few stories you may have heard about me or I will show you how fierce this Pyroar is." She lets go as Ike hides his redden hand. Janic walks up.
"I'm glad to see you, Ike. How are you holding up?" Janic asks and Ike nods.
"Well, Melody is finally going to leave the hospital sometime today so I went to make arrangements for a party." Ike says nothing about how he is feeling and Janic looks at him.
"That didn't answer my question." Janic said. Ike realize and smacks himself.
"Sorry. I'm good just everyone has been asking me how Melody has been and not how I've been so I guess I gave your my Melody answer haha." Ike explained his bulder and Janic nods.
"So what made you come by the Court house?" Pietro asks and Ike noticed the other boys.
"Well to be honest, Burning Knight. I was going to ask Jasmine if she want to come to the party." Ike says as Pietro gets a puffy face.
"Its Burning Innocence now." Ike laughs at that for a moment right before he looks at Janic.
"I just remembered...didn't I promise you a battle, Young Joy?" Janic nods.
"Yeah but I thought you were kidding with me when you said." Ike gets a serious look on his face when Janic said that.
"When I say I want a battle, I keep my word on it." Janic looks excited by his favorite musician's words. Zero and Pietro look jealous as they leap up onto Janic to get in Ike's face.
"We want to battle too!" They conjoinly say. Ike nods.
"Frozen and Burning Innocence want at fight too..." Ike gives a thumbs up as Anabel nods.
'I guess Lunch is going to wait.' She thought as she claps.
"Alright boys, if you want to battle. Lets do it at the Pokemon Center battle field." A collective cheer from the boys agrees with the Cop mom as they all unknownly get to see a music celebrity act closer to his age. They all pass by a tv monitor that flashes an ad for the Whirl Cup, which is coming up six months early due to changing sea currents.
Back on the rocky paths of Mt. Mortar. We find Brooke and Terra using their rock climbing skills as they appear to be searching for something for Terra has a pair of binocilurs hover in front of her face.
"Still nothing." Terra said as Brooke slides down to her friend.
"I'm starting to think those Karate guys were mistaken when they saw Team Rocket around here." Brooke makes a pair of rocks flat for sitting. "We may as well take a break. We've been looking for hours now." Terra doesn't refuse the seat as the two just take a moment to admire the sight.
"I can say this. Mt. Mortar does not get enough attention." Terra said as Brooke nods.
"Yeah, its kind of just here for most people and too be honest, I never travelled this far up or around this mountain." Brooke admits.
"Well there is an easy route that only makes travel between Eructeak and Mahogany a day or two so why would you need to travel up here?" Terra says.
"Sadly but at least if you needed a quiet place to train this be perfect." Brooke remarks right as a Skarmory flies down and lands in front of them. Terra pets its beak.
"What is it girl?" The Skarmory points its beak down the mountain to where their is a small valley. "What do you think?" Terra asks as Brooke stands up.
"Can't hurt to check it out." The rocky girl stretches her legs as Terra sends Zane and Blaze a quick text.
My Skarmory thinks it found something in a valley in the northeastern part of the area.
Brooke and I checking it out. 3 (;
She finds Brooke's hand reach out to her. She accepts as Brooke uses a rock as board to slide down the mountain side and Terra finds herself squeezing onto Brooke which is what that opprotunist was counting on. They find themselves in the valley rather quickly as Terra can't see where her Skarmory went.
"Skarmory?" She calls out for it as a weird feeling over comes the two trainers as they fall to the ground. Brooke notices something in Terra's shoulder and when she trys to move she finds she can't. A group of team Rocket grunts pop up as they have Terra's Skarmory in a electrofied net.
"Looks like we have a couple nosy trainers." One of the men says before another took a better look at the girls and gets a smirk.
"Hey guys, we hit the jack pot. We got the Trembler and the Brick." Brooke spits at that grunt.
"That is not my title, jack ass." Brooke growled as she is kicked by that grunt.
"Nobody cares. You both made our jobs easier." They tell their capitives. They begin to restrain them when a sudden loud boom is hear along with violent shaking as the sky darkens. The grunts soon see that one of the smaller mountains has erupted into a volcano out of nowhere.
"What the hell?"
"We got to get out of here?!" Another squad of grunts runs into the valley screaming and one of the grunt stops a fleeing grunt.
"What is going on?" They ask as the scared grunt shivers.
"So much fire...so quick...we lost half our guys and all our pokemon can't handle it that...no NO!" That scared grunt passes out and reveal extreme burns on their back. Suddenly, a Talonflame cloaked in blue flames tears through grunts like paper and a certain odd colored Blazekin swiftly frees Skarmory while kicking the grunt whom held the steel bird right into a rock. The others start bring out Koffings and Primeapes to help begin battling although the three Pokemon are able to make quick work of the Rocket Grunt pokemon. The grunts try to run when a Camerupt and Charmeleon cut off their only escape route as a blue glow over comes the area as Blaze appears. Her hair is flaming blue and her hands covered in blue fires. Her attitude looking just as bad as it has been since she had that disagreement with Zane. Terra is able to see Blaze as she smacks around and burns the grunts like they were rag dolls. Only a minute or two later, Blaze has them dealt with as she gotten to the girls and even though they are nervous about her still using fire so close to their skin; they begin to regain movement and the numb feeling goes away.
"Are you guys okay?" She asks as Brooke nods.
"Yes but still wondering how you didn't burn us like those guys." Brooke wonders. Blaze scratches her own cheek.
"Believe it or not, I just figured out how to do that." She makes a silly face. Brooke gets a puffy face.
"Just because your pretty doesn't mean you can use my Opal or I as Tepigs for your experiments with your powers." Blaze laughs.
"I thought you wanted more attention from me, that's why you keep staring." Brooke blushes as Terra gets mad even through Blaze is clearly joking. And while the girls continue to conversate, Zane sits on a mount of cooled lava rock as he holds an Ultra ball in hand.
"You are one noisy pokemon...Entei."
Our Heroes and side characters have been through a little bit this chapter haven't they? And per usual, this brings up some questions: Did Zane just caught a Legendary off scene? What is Team Rocket really after? Will Janic get his battle with Ike and Jasmine? Why does Pietro not like the title 'Burning Knight'? Which in this narrator's opinion is much cooler. And finally, Will we be seeing a different side of Ash and Misty's relationship? Stay tuned as the Journey Continues!
