6 July, 1966, the Evans' residence, Spinner's End
Rose Evans stood in front of the kitchen window looking out onto the street, as she waited for Petunia and Lily to return home from the playground any minute now. All of a sudden, she noticed a person who was wearing a grey robe with a hood standing on the other side of the street. Some times before, she had already seen that person or even two of them; however, had no clue who they were let alone why they seemed to be observing their home. 'Strange,' she thought to herself. 'I wonder if it has something to do with who Pet's father is. Who knows whom he told about it?'
She smiled, when her daughters came into view, as they came running towards the house, noticing from the corners of her eyes that the person in grey vanished from the spot. 'They must be magical,' she realised, sensing that it confirmed her suspicion that they were there because of Petunia's father.
"Mum, Dad," six-year-old Lily stormed into the kitchen, shouting in apparent excitement. "Sevvy said that I'm a witch and he's a wizard!"
"He said that I'm a muggle," Petunia, who was just a year older than her sister, added in clear disappointment.
"What is a muggle?" Rose asked, innocently. When the evil wizard had abducted her, he had spent some time explaining everything about magic, pureblood wizards and witches as well as muggleborns, muggles and Squibs to her. While she had forgotten most of what he had told her due to being in absolute panic after being abducted and raped, she remembered some things. She also knew that she was a Squib and had resolved to keep the matter from her husband, who was a normal muggle and had no idea of magic.
"A muggle is a person without magic," Lily explained, sounding very happy. "Sevvy said that we can attend Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry together, when we're eleven. Please Mum, may I go to Hogwarts with Sevvy?"
"We'll see," Rose replied, absentmindedly smiling. "Paul, what do you think?"
'Strange that Lily is a witch and not Petunia, whose father definitely is a wizard,' she thought in confusion.
"Let's speak about this again in a few years' time. If you still want this, when you turn eleven, then I don't see a reason why not," Paul said, calmly, causing Rose to look at her husband with a combination of surprise and relief. 'Thank God he takes it so well,' she thought, smiling.

Paul let out a deep sigh, as he retired to the garden to get some fresh herbs for dinner. 'That would have been the optimal opportunity to tell them that I'm a wizard and have attended Hogwarts,' he thought in remorse. 'I am really a coward, but I just don't dare tell Rose after such a long time. Perhaps I'd have already told her if Rebecca hadn't vanished into thin air shortly after our wedding. She could have helped me tell her,' he mused, his thoughts drifting back to their common time at Hogwarts. 'I wonder why she suddenly broke up all contact with us. Oh well, I'll probably never know, just as Rose will never know that I am magical. I can never tell her that I kept something so important from her for such a long time,' he resolved, as he slowly returned to the house, the idea 'Perhaps I'll be able to tell Lily the truth sometime in the future' playing in his mind.

Daphne Greengrass became the sixth-year prefect instead of Draco Malfoy, and Harry and Hermione, who occasionally had to do rounds together with the prefects from other houses, appreciated Severus' choice greatly.
"Daphne is really nice," Harry said to Hermione after doing prefect duties with their Slytherin housemate one evening. "I didn't even know her in spite of having had classes together since our first year."
Hermione chuckled. "That's true," she agreed in apparent amusement. "It's good that Malfoy is in Azkaban."
"Even his cronies aren't so bad now that Draco and their fathers are in prison," Dudley spoke up, causing the others to stare at him in surprise. "I've talked with them during Herbology the other day," he added, shrugging.
"Still, I don't trust them," Hannah spoke up, shaking her head. "Please be careful around them."
"I will," Dudley promised, placing a hushed kiss onto the girl's cheek. "Let's head to the beach for a moment," he added, as he held his hand out to pull her with him.
'Too bad that I don't have three hands,' Harry thought in amusement, as he observed his cousin leave with his girlfriend.
"I'm looking forward to spending much time on the beach during the holidays," Luna spoke up in her soft voice, dreamily looking through the charmed window.
"Me too," Harry agreed, "although I suppose that I'm going to have to help with the shop," he added as an afterthought.
Little could he know that he would be confronted with completely different tasks during the summer after his sixth Hogwarts year.
HP
During the last Hogsmeade visit of the school year, Harry and his friends took turns assisting at Whizkidz as usual.
It was almost lunchtime, and Harry went to look for his friends, when Petunia assured him that she would be all right just with Remus and Sirius being there for a while. Only when he stepped out onto the street, he noticed that, once again, two Unspeakables were hovering nearby. Before he could even consider what to do, one of them addressed him.
"Mr. Potter?"
"Yes?" he replied, questioningly.
"We are Unspeakables Felina and Whisker," the Unspeakable, who deciding from the voice had to be female, continued. "We met at Mr. Malfoy's trial a few months ago."
"Ah, hello," Harry replied, awkwardly, wondering what the Unspeakables wanted from him.
"We'd like to speak with you in private about something if you don't mind," the Unspeakable continued. "Would you mind having lunch with us at the Three Broomsticks?"
"All right," Harry hesitantly agreed and quickly thought to his girlfriends, 'The two Unspeakables, whom we often saw near the shop, just invited me to have lunch with them at the Three Broomsticks. Just so you know, in case I'm not back in two hours.'
A triple response reached him, just when he followed the two cloaked people into the pub.
"We're in our room," the Unspeakable told Madam Rosmerta, who returned a smile.
"Daily lunch for three?" she enquired.
"Yes please," Whisker replied, causing Harry to somehow feel reassured at the Unspeakable's presence, knowing that the man, whoever it was, had saved his life twice.
'At least he probably doesn't have bad intentions,' he thought, as he climbed upstairs behind the Unspeakables.
When they were seated, it was again the female Unspeakable, who spoke up. "Sorry for suddenly asking you for a meeting without as much as a forewarning at that," she said in a soft voice, "but we'd like to work together with you." Ignoring Harry's questioning look, she continued, "Is my assumption correct that you know about the prophecy between you and Voldemort?"
Harry remained pensive, before he replied, "I've never heard it. I only know that it says that I was the one who had to defeat him or such, which is why he killed my parents."
"That about sums it up," Felina agreed. "Now, some people believe in prophecies, others don't. However, we think that it is important to prevent an evil wizard from pulling the whole magical world into another war."
"Yes," Harry confirmed. "I don't think that I'd be able to win in a fight over him, considering that he has about fifty years more experience than me, but if there is anything that I can do, I will."
The two Unspeakables nodded, just when lunch appeared on the table in front of them.
"We will now lower our hoods to eat," the woman continued. "Will you please swear us a wizard's oath that you won't reveal our identities or what we tell you now to anyone else?"
Harry stared at the two figures in front of him in shock, before he nodded in determination. "I swear on my magic to not reveal the Unspeakables' identities and not talk about their information, provided that their doing is not criminal."
The two Unspeakables let out a simultaneous snort, before they lowered their hoods.
"We're Unspeakables, in case you haven't noticed, not criminals," the woman informed him, smirking.
Harry looked at the two people with interest, however, could not recall having met any of them before. 'It's not Filch,' he realised, somehow feeling relieved on the one hand, disappointed on the other.
"Excuse me," he hesitantly addressed them, "was it you who placed my relatives under charms to suppress their magic?"
The two exchanged a glance, before the woman admitted, "Yes, that was us. However, that was not a criminal act, but a precaution."
Harry let out a snort. "A precaution?" he asked in disbelief. "That caused me my childhood."
"And for that I am very sorry, dear," the woman replied, sounding regretful. "I don't know if you're aware of the fact that Voldemort is your Aunt Petunia's father."
"Yes, I know that," Harry replied with mixed feelings.
"To make up for it at least as much as we can, we shall help you with your task of defeating Voldemort," the man offered, causing Harry to give him a sharp nod in return. "You might not know this," he continued, "but you can't simply go and kill Voldemort, because he has made Horcruxes. Have you ever heard of them?"
"No sir," Harry replied in confusion. "Excuse me, sir, what are Horcruxes?"
He absentmindedly ate his lunch, while Whisker explained everything about the Horcruxes that Voldemort had made in order to gain immortality. To Harry's surprise, the Unspeakables had already performed extensive study about possible objects and had even located them.
"The question is if you have to be the one to destroy them," Whisker continued, "and therefore, we'd like to invite you to collect and destroy them all during the summer holidays."
"Of course," Harry replied in determination without even considering the matter. "Thank you so much for your help in this."
"You're welcome," Felina replied, smiling.
Harry remained hesitant for a moment, before he asked, "Do you have an idea how to destroy them?"
"We hope that there is enough basilisk venom left in the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts to destroy the Horcruxes, as the only other method to destroy a Horcrux would be fiendfyre," Whisker explained, as he guided his fork to chase a piece of carrot over his plate.
"In fact, Whisker has also tried to manipulate Voldemort using a secret artefact of the Unspeakables; however, we are not sure if it works and if the effects will last infinitely. As we do not wish to take chances, we believe that it's better to destroy the Horcruxes in any case."
"Let me guess," Harry spoke up, smirking. "You tried to manipulate him into abandoning his Death Eaters in favour of his daughter and family?"
They talked for about an hour, before they agreed to meet in front of Whizkidz at ten o'clock on the first day of the summer holidays.
"I just have one more request," Harry spoke up, before he separated from the Unspeakables. Seeing that they both gave him questioning looks, he continued, "Will you promise me to not place any more charms on my relatives please?"
The Unspeakables exchanged a glance, before Felina replied in a firm voice, "We promise. I am sorry for what we did, but you must understand that we were worried, considering that your aunt is the daughter of none other than Voldemort."
"I understand," Harry acknowledged in a soft voice, before he took his leave, feeling slightly disturbed that he was not allowed to speak about the Horcruxes with his extended family. The Unspeakables had instructed him to merely tell everyone that they were working together to prepare Voldemort's demise. 'Oh well, perhaps it's better that I can't tell them that they were the ones who bound their magic,' he thought, 'considering that I'm now working together with them. I must ask them to apologize and explain everything to Aunt Petunia at some stage though.'
HP
Punctually at ten o'clock, just when Whizkidz opened, on the first day of the summer holidays, Harry stepped out of the shop, only to realise that the two Unspeakables were already waiting for him.
"Good morning, Mr. Potter," Felina greeted him. "Are you ready to go on a Horcrux hunt?"
Harry sighed. "Well, I guess that I'll have to," he replied, evasively, not exactly keen on working with the two Unspeakables who had wrong his relatives and in extension himself so badly.
"I suggest that we begin with the easiest," Felina continued. "Bellatrix placed one into the Lestrange family vault. We can simply enter the vault and take it."
"Perhaps we could ask Regina Lestrange for help. That way, we won't have to break into the vault," Harry replied, thoughtfully, causing Felina to chuckle.
"Thanks for never asking for our names," she said in apparent amusement, "but I am Rebecca Lestrange, Regina's older sister. Don't forget to not reveal my identity to anyone though," she added, warningly.
"Rebecca Lestrange," Harry repeated in surprise. "Professor McGonagall was asking about you. She said you were one of her favourite students."
"Thank you," Felina replied, seemingly amused. "She doesn't know that I'm an Unspeakable. She has met my other self a couple of times though," she quipped. "Oh well, perhaps one day I shall tell her the truth. Who knows," she added, letting out a deep sigh.
"Mr. Potter," Whisker spoke up, slowly, "as far as I know, you're a canine Animagus. Is that correct?"
"Yes," Harry admitted, giving the Unspeakable a surprised look; however, the older wizard did not reveal anything more.
"In that case, I suggest that you accompany us to Gringotts in your Animagus form," he continued, "as it might look strange to the goblins if two Unspeakables enter the Lestrange family vault together with the boy who lived."
"That's true," Harry agreed and, as soon as they arrived in Diagon Alley, transformed into his Animagus form.
"The item we're looking for is the cup of Helga Hufflepuff," Felina explained, before they entered the bank, and Harry nodded in understanding.
Glad that he only had to follow the Unspeakables without taking any responsibility, he swiftly entered the vault after them only to look around in amazement. 'I've never seen something like this,' he thought, as he curiously glanced around. In contrary to his own vault, which was solely filled with the three types of coins, the Lestrange vault contained everything from ornaments over paintings and books to furniture items. 'Oh well, perhaps the Potter vault looks similar,' he thought, deciding, 'As soon as I'm seventeen and of age, I'll pay it a visit.'
"There it is," Felina informed him. "However, knowing my brothers, it would be better to not cast magic in this vault. We must try to climb somewhere to reach out for it.
=No problem,= Harry replied, not caring that the Unspeakables would most likely not understand him. He carefully pushed one of the chairs over and climbed onto it, doing a huge jump in the direction of the cup that caused the whole pile of ornaments to crash onto the ground.
=Sorry,= he uttered, before he jumped down and dove through the pile of ornaments, quickly finding the cup from its scent.
"Put it in here," Felina instructed him, holding out a small bag to him, and Harry gratefully dropped the cup into the bag.
'That felt outright evil,' he thought, grimly, feeling relieved that he was rid of the item.
HP
Only when they were back in Hogsmeade, Harry changed back into his human form.
"Thank you, Mr. Potter," Whisker said and suggested, "Tomorrow, we should head to Hogwarts. There is one item at Hogwarts, which we'll have to find, and then we could make a trip to the Chamber of Secrets to get rid of both."
"Alternatively, we could fetch the other items first, however, it might be good to test getting rid of them using these two objects," Felina added, seemingly thoughtful.
"Where are the other items, and how many are there?" Harry enquired, curiously.
"There is one more in the old Gaunt shack," Whisker informed him, "and another in the Black town house. Croaker, the Head Unspeakable, told me, however, that two members of the Black family are in Team 5 of the Unspeakables and he'd ask them to possibly retrieve the item and give it to you."
"I know one of them and Sirius Black of course. Shall I ask them?" Harry offered.
"No, let us deal with it, considering that you mustn't tell anyone what you're doing at this time," Felina decided. "In any case, we'll meet again tomorrow morning."
During the remaining weeks of the holidays, Harry, Felina and Whisker collected and destroyed all of Voldemort's Horcruxes with the exception of Nagini, his snake, who according to the Unspeakables was a Horcrux as well.
Just when Harry thought that they were done for the time being, Felina informed him, "There is one more thing for us to do."
"There is another Horcrux, which is located behind your scar," Whisker continued. "During the last decade, we have done extensive research, and we know how to get rid of it."
"A Horcrux behind my scar?" Harry asked in horror. "Is that why I can sometimes see into his mind and have visions?"
The two Unspeakables nodded in confirmation.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to remove the Horcrux," Felina continued. "However, I'd prefer doing this in the medical room of the Unspeakables' office in the presence of our healers, just to be sure that everything goes well."
Harry hesitantly agreed and, on the day before his birthday, he accompanied Regulus to the Unspeakables' Office, where Felina and Whisker were waiting for him in front of Croaker's office.
"Don't hurt him," Raros warned his two colleagues, who nodded in return.
"We won't," Felina replied in a soft voice.
'Thank Merlin at least Regulus knows and can inform the family in case something goes wrong and I'll never return home,' Harry thought, as he followed Felina and Whisker to the medical room. Only the thought of having a Horcrux inside his head made him feel sick; however, after working with the two Unspeakables for a few weeks, he knew that he could fully trust them and that they would not willingly hurt him.
By the time Felina was done with her spells, he had succumbed to unconsciousness and only heard later on that the Horcrux had been removed and destroyed. However, he noticed in surprise that he felt better than he had ever felt before and profusely thanked the which for what she had done.
"No thanks needed, Harry," Felina replied in a soft voice. "We have wronged you badly, and we intend to make up for it, to you and also to your cousin. We will tell you more, when we meet the next time. Today, you're just going to return home and rest."
"Sunday morning at ten o'clock?" Whisker enquired, when they accompanied Harry back to Whizkidz.
"Yes sir," Harry confirmed, smiling. "Err, excuse me, may I perhaps tell my family about the Horcrux in my head now?"
"Yes, you may, as long as you keep our identities out of it," Felina replied, causing Harry to let out a small scoff.
'I don't even know who you really are,' he thought, shaking his head in annoyance, as he slowly entered the shop.
HP
The following day was his seventeenth birthday, and as soon as he stepped through the connecting door into Whizkidz, a vulture approached him. He hesitantly took a small parchment from the vulture, only to notice in surprise that the bird made itself comfortable on the back of a chair, obviously waiting for a response.
'Harry Potter,
today I have a request. You might know by now that your Aunt Petunia is my daughter, which makes you my grand-nephew. I have abandoned my Death Eaters and intend to care for my family in the future. Will you please arrange a meeting with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson? Of course, you are very welcome to attend as well. You are family after all.
Please tell me a place and a date and hand it to my vulture.
See you soon.
Lord Voldemort
P.S. Happy Birthday!'
