Chapter 22nd

Doctor Grace really didn't believe she was doing this over the phone with her patient Leroy Jethro Gibbs. She would rather have him come into her office but since he was in Stillwater, Pa.
instead.

She gathered herself with the questions beginning with the following. "What happened Gibbs?" She will asked over the phone to wait a moment for his response.

"I woke up screaming during a nap to be having a very bad nightmare about Paraguay." He will start with the conversation.

"About the torture with what Hernandez had done to you in the compound?" She waited to be writing down his response. She yawned slightly since she was still in her office at a late hour.

"Yes, along with the sexual abuse by him and his men in the compound with taking their turns with raping me in front of Stan Burley and the others. I was so damn helpless to stop it Doc!" He cried out over the phone with Loreile listening to his voice cracking. She really felt bad for her husband even after months...

"One thing you will need is therapy to talk with other groups having been through the same situation with same to same men and woman raping their partners. Once you begin to talk about your experience the better it will be for you. What do you think of this Gibbs?"

"I will have to consider it Doc since I can't continue on living like this with the nightmares all of the time and including the visions of my friends talking to me." This was the one item he had never mention to Doctor Grace about.

"REALLY! WHO GIBBS? She will asked with her curiosity kicking in with this latest information to really surprise her.

"It all started with Shannon and Kelly showing up for when ever I was in an situation with dying being shot. Mike Franks and Diane had shown up a number of times over the years with always telling me about being alone needing someone or making the right decision."

"Gibbs, you were married to Diane for a few years. Tell me I know about your battles with her while you were working. Did you ever loved this woman?" She asked with a serious demeanor needing to know.

He turned to face Loreile to answer the question. "No, but I did liked her a great deal and I told her this when she had appeared. One of those times was for when Emily had gotten into trouble with the drugs and she and Fornell wanted me to go after the bastards. And I wasn't able to until later..." He said with anger in his tone of voice.

"When was this Gibbs?"

"I had made up a story that I needed a few days to fish at my cabin telling Sloane that it was Sturgeon season. When in fact I was in Canada tracking the drug dealer until I was able to come back to set up an undercover operation. Any rate back to my nightmares Doc. I am willing to try the sessions only if and when it doesn't interfere with my job."

"Your Job? What about your wife Loreile and her needs with being seven months pregnant?" She added with the question.

"Of course Doc my wife as well. It's just that these nightmares having been taking over my sanity of late and I am sick and tired of feeling this way all of the time. It's had gotten in my way with the team as well and tomorrow Loreile doesn't want me to go with trying to take down Hernandez and his men at the train depot."

"And I don't blame her. But it's important to do this to make yourself feel better. You need to stop the other operations before getting yourself killed in the process if possible?" She mention with caution.

"That's not easy to do Doctor. Especially since I am the supervisor of the team I have been in charge a long time. And if you're going to bring up the subject of retirement again. Then I will suggest you forget it. I told you before I wasn't going to retire with NCIS centering me." He said spitting it back at her face.

"True. What is going to happen to Loreile if and when it comes a time that you're actually killed in the process. Where does that leave her?" She strongly stated with her statement.

"She doesn't know this and I won't say anything with Loreile being set up with my insurance, pension, along with my benefits for the marines and most of all the monies I have saved for Kelly's college and etc. She is going to be well off if and when it does come that I am dead." He takes in a deep breath to have Doctor Grace shaking her head at the nonsense he was spitting out.

"Tell me something Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Do you think all that matters to Loreile? And besides I would think that she would want you around for another twenty years at least."

"Are you serious? I would doubt that I will last ten years with the way the criminal's are winning the battle against me." He stated with sitting back in his seat taking a large gulp of his water.

"You know what Gibbs your priorities are screwed up. There is a beautiful woman and a child on the way that needs you in spite all of your issues. I just don't know what more I can do accept make you face the truth. It's up to you what your decision will be."

For a few moments he didn't say a word to her with needing space and feeling like he was cornered. "Doc, I am sorry I need to end this now to have another session when I am ready to discuss it further."

"Sure. When the need arises Gibbs please call me." She watches him move off the couch to head out of her office.
