Chapter 32:

The True Queen

Loki sat idly at one of the pilot seats as he twirled his pendant between his fingers lazily. He could feel Clio's powers growing stronger than ever. The pulsing and throbbing of the pendant indicated her distress; it had been going on like that ever since they left Kyln prison.

Without Clio's knowledge, he had put some of his magic in her pendant connecting it to his before he "died" in front of her and his brother. That way, he was always assured that she was alive and at the same time, could track her anywhere she goes. It also held special magic that helps her suppress her enormous powers. But right now, as he watched the pendant pulse, he feared that even his magic wouldn't be enough to help her.

He wondered if she was in some kind of trouble. Sighing, the grip on the pendant tightened at the thought of her in trouble and he couldn't do anything to save her. It was up to his brother - the trust that he put on to Thor to protect the mortal that seemed to calm him down. Despite Thor's rash behavior and instinct of an animal, he knew he will protect her.

In the background, the yammering of his companions over worthless things ceased to no end. The throbbing pendant of his matched the throbbing headache he was feeling at the sound of their voices.

"Don't touch that! It's a bomb!" warned Rocket who was busy tinkering on an unknown device.

Quill gaped at the device in disbelief. "A bomb?" he blurted out.

"Yup," the rodent answered nonchalantly.

"And you leave it lying around?" Quill carefully put the bomb back on the table carefully.

"I was going to put it in a box," Rocket defended.

"What's a box going to do?" Quill turned to Loki who was watching them with disinterest. "Can you believe this?"

Loki didn't bother answering the question. The feud went on for another moment until Gamora, who have had enough, stood up and stopped the argument before it gets out of hand.

"You just want to suck the joy out of everything," Rocket complained and rolled his eyes upward.

Loki stood up, leaned against the wall and folded his arms on his chest, catching the attention of his companions. This was something he learned from Thor; how his brother intimidated his enemies. His green eyes trained towards the only lady of their group.

"Before we reach your buyer, I need to know what that is," he began, pointing at the Orb on the table. "And why Ronan needs it?"

"Thanos promised him the destruction of Nova Corps in exchange for the Orb," Gamora explained.

"Thanos needs the Orb for what?" he asked again; well more likely demanded.

"Why the sudden curiosity?" Gamora tilted her head slightly, challengingly. "You were once in his army but you never cared for his true intentions before."

Loki clenched his fist on his chest and tried his best not to show any sign of uneasiness at the question. He never cared for his intentions before which he regretted not knowing now. He only wanted to take revenge at Thor for letting him go over the abyss. But even that was a lie embedded in his mind by him.

Everyone was silent as they regarded the Jotun; waiting for an answer or a comeback. "He promised me full control of the Chitauri," he began through clenched teeth. Then he sighed, releasing the breath he was holding. "In exchange for the Tesseract."

"Tesse- what?" Quill repeated and turned to Rocket.

"Does it worth more than the Orb?" seconded the rodent, curious. This, of course, was ignored by the two former allies of Thanos as they both entered a staring contest.

"And you don't know why he needs it," it wasn't a question but a statement made by Gamora.

Loki pursed his lip in a thin line as he stared down, breaking his stare at her. Shame rampaged over his being at her words. Not even his reason for being brainwashed by Thanos was enough to eliminate that shame. He knew nothing. Even a piece of small information could have been useful.

He heard Gamora sighed before she spoke again. "The entire time that I knew him, he had one goal," she began. "To wipe out half of the universe."

Loki's head snapped back up to Gamora with a scowl on his face. "Half… half of the universe?" he repeated to which Gamora affirmed with a nod. He felt a cold chill ran down on his spine. An eerie silence descended inside the ship at her statement. His mind traveled to Clio and Frigga's vision.

"Woah, Woah, Woah!" Quill exclaimed and raised his hands for emphasizing. He regarded everyone on the ship and scoffed. "That's BS and you know it! How will he wipe half of the universe? What, you mean with Windex? Is your father crazy?"

"He's not my father," growled Gamora.

"Then how the hell will he do it, huh? The universe is one big pile of shit full of shit!" Then he paused. "Well, I can see why he wants to wipe it," he added as a joke and turned to Rocket with a grin as if it was the funniest joke he'd ever make. But even the rodent did not spare him a grin back thus stared at him with disgust.

Embarrassed, Quill cleared his throat and glanced back at Gamora who was staring at him with a brow raised. "Right. So, how will he do it, again?" he asked instead.

Gamora opened her mouth to say something but then changed her mind and closed it. This did not go unnoticed by Loki. The rigid muscle on her jaw indicated she was hiding something from them.

"I don't know," she muttered after a moment of silence. "But one thing for sure is we need to get this Orb to my buyer. He'll keep it safe there and away from Ronan. It will also be the last place he'd look for the Orb."

Loki wanted to press further but decided against it when Quill spoke up. "Speaking of your buyer, I'm going to need his coordinates," Quill informed the lady.

Gamora turned to him with a boring look. "We're heading in the right direction for now," she supplied as she grabbed the Orb to inspect it closer.

Quill scowled at her statement. "If we're going to work together, you might try trusting us a little bit," he said and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

"And how much do you trust me?" Gamora challenged; the two of them inching closer to each other, Loki noted. Whether to slice each other's throat or not, he did not want to know.

But instead of going further in, Quill grabbed the Orb from her. "I'd trust you a lot more if you told us what this was."

"I'm guessing it's some kind of weapon if Thanos wants it," Loki supplied as he watched Quill put down the Orb on the table in front of them.

"You mean to wipe half of the universe?" Quill asked back as he inspected the Orb on the table before returning his stare back to the green lady.

Gamora sighed and inched back from Quill. "I don't know what it is," Gamora admitted. "Let's not jump into conclusions on this one."

Drax hastily grabbed the Orb again from the table, startling everyone in the room. "If it's a weapon, we should use it against Ronan or Thanos!"

"Put it down, you fool! You'll destroy us all!" growled Gamora to which made Loki's brow shot up.

She didn't know what it was but she knew it was dangerous?

"Or just you, murderess!" Drax retorted and walked up to Gamora; eyes blazing with fury.

"I let you live once, princess!" threatened Gamora, pointing a finger at him.

"I am not a princess!"

Loki massaged his temple. He noticed that he kept doing it often with these people and he wasn't very fond of it anymore. He wasn't even fond of it in the first place.

The two continued their threat with each other until Quill had had enough of it and stepped in between.

"Hey! Nobody is killing anybody on my ship!" Quill broke it up before they lunged at each other. "We're stuck together until we get the money!"

Silence descended upon them for a while before Drax threw the orb back to Quill to which the latter caught it, almost missing it. "I have no interest in money," he stated backing away from them, not letting his glare on Gamora waver before he turned his back and went off.

"Great. That means more money for the four of us," Quill stated, delighted at the revelation.

"I am Groot."

Quill sighed and rolled his eyes at the Tree of their group.

"For the five of us. Partners?" he glanced at Gamora and offered a handshake.

"We have an agreement, but I would never be partners with the likes of you," she commented, eyeing Loki with disgust and settling it on Quill.

The owner of the ship closed his fist but then glanced at Loki with expectancy. Loki turned around and walked back to the Pilot's seat ignoring all of them.

"Okay," Quill muttered before he tucked his hand inside his jeans pocket.

"I'll tell the buyer we're on our way," she said and followed Loki to the pilot seat but before that, she turned around again at Quill and glanced around the ship. "And Quill, your ship is filthy."

"Get off the bridge," Wanda ordered to the throngs of people behind them who were in a panic as legions of Iron suits continued to appear from below and above.

Steve and Barton were busy fending them off as Clio and Wanda protected the civilians who were being targeted by the suits.

"There's no end to them," Clio muttered as another legion appeared from the ground. Her movements were getting sluggish, a sign that her energy was depleting from the continuous onslaught of energy she kept on blasting.

She hadn't had the proper training with controlling her energy since she left Asgard and if it probably wasn't for the magic Loki forced upon her through her necklace, she was guessing she would have been long dead before these legions of Ultron could have the opportunity to.

She sometimes wondered if Loki knew he was going to die at the battle they fought and knew that if he did die, she'd probably have a hard time going back to Asgard and discontinue her training with Frigga.

It was like Loki was still with her and guiding her throughout all the way. And that maybe one of the reasons why she never tried to experiment with the necklace's abilities; fearing the last emblem that reminded her of Loki would fade away. Though there was a time she would try to test out her abilities but ever since the incident with Dr. Banner hulking out, she didn't give another try.

And this time, she regretted the times of pieces of training she had missed. She reached her limit.

Wanda wielded a shield over them as the legions started to shoot. The red energy of her shield deflected all the blast yet the more they hit, the less she could hold on to it.

"Run!" Wanda warned the onlookers behind them which were frozen in fear and shock. She turned her head towards her fellow energy manipulator. "They're not listening- are you okay?" she asked Clio who was heaving heavily and was slightly slump over.

"Yeah, I just need a breather," she responded but just as the words left her mouth, another blast from the Iron Suit made Wanda's shield waver and finally hit her. The witch fell on the ground with a groan as the onlookers decided that this was the best time to run.

Clio gasped, horrified as Wanda tried to crawl away from the suits. Instinct washed over her head as she grabbed a broken car door that fell a while ago and threw it over the suit despite the protest of her aching muscles. It was as if her muscles were stretched too thin and her heart was being squeezed to death. Her lungs were about to burst the more oxygen she inhales as she finally slumped on the ground next to Wanda who was trying to stand up.

"Thanks," Wanda murmured, not looking back at her.

"W-who again is easily d-distracted?" Clio teased through the pain she was feeling.

The witch ignored her and quickly helped her to stand but a groan escaped her lips. "You need to rest," Wanda remarked as she watched Clio lean at the railings of the bridge. "You're breathing is different than normal."

"I-I noticed," she whispered and stared at her shaking hands which were covered with blood, she noticed. "I-I'm recovering at a slower rate t-than normal."

"It's because you've used up too much of your energy that your recovery state is compromised," Wanda explained as she patched up the wound Clio suffered from the blast.

The confusion must have shown on her face that made Wanda sighed. "I've been observing you since we've met. That hit you took would have rendered you useless but you are still fighting as if you're recovering. Slowly, but recovering," she explained.

"Yeah," Clio muttered, the pain in her lungs are slowly fading but breathing air was still of difficulty. "How did you know all about energy?"

"I've been reading Von Strucker's journals and remarks on my powers," Wanda explained. "I may not have that vast recovery rate you have but I do recover. And I have difficulty with energy once, if we make it through this, I'll be glad to help you."

Clio's brow raised in surprise at the statement. Her mouth hung agape in shock. Could she be to blame if the two of them have been fighting ever since they met?

"Don't get me wrong," Wanda supplied quickly. She bowed her head, not meeting her eyes, as if ashamed of what she was about to say next. "It's my way of thanking you. For letting me and my brother fight alongside with you. After what we did, I didn't think you could still trust us."

Clio sighed. Why does she have such a forgiving heart? Even Tony noted how this could be her flaw. But seeing Wanda all torn-up and broken after realizing what she believed in was all in the wrong she couldn't help but sympathize with. It was like seeing Loki so broken when he told her about his parentage the second time they met again at the cliff. And just like last time, her heart went out to the younger girl.

"I'll take full notes on what you're going to teach me," Clio finally said and smiled.

Wanda chuckled and nodded her head but the peace was short-lived when the earth started to shake again, this time the tremors were stronger than the last time when the legions appeared.

Wanda stood up to inspect what was going on when the earth below them cracked and separated them both.

"Wanda!" The raven-haired shouted in horror when a legion appeared behind her and was about to blast the red-haired witch.

Instinct took over as Clio waved her hand and shot Wanda out of the way with her energy but at the same time, the legion fired hitting the raven-haired scientist at the shoulder causing her to fall back at the railings.

"Look out!" Wanda warned when she recovered and fired energy assault at the legion.

Clio cursed and whimpered at the wound on her shoulder as she hung from the railing which she was lucky enough to grab before she could fall further.

But then, the ground where the railings stood started to disintegrate. Clio gasped in horror as the railings were starting to have difficulty in supporting her weight.

Smoke started to rise as car after car that was on the bridge started to fall down over the crack and was causing the cement to erode faster. She coughed out when dirt started to enter her lungs

A scream escaped her lips when half of the railing fell down.

"Clio! Where are you?" she heard Wanda screamed.

"I-I'm here!" she screamed back but was swallowed by the loud tremors of the earth.

She couldn't see how high she was from the ground or could she just summon enough energy to lift her up? But before she could make any decisions, the railings creaked so loud as it gave away. With the loud tremors around, she thought her screams of horror were much louder.

The pendant he conjured has the same structure and component with the Bifrost - the bridge between Midgard and Asgard. It was also known to be one of the hardest crystals on Asgard - nearly impossible to destroy. It would take quite a powerful weapon to shatter it much like Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, when he broke the Bifrost to save Jotunheim.

So, it's a big wonder and horror to Loki as he stared with widened eyes at his pendant why it suddenly cracked in two when he was merely holding it with his two fingers. He was resting at one of the bunk beds in the lowest part of the ship for a while when it happened.

A sense of dread washed over his being at the thought of something bad had happened to his mother, to Thor, to Asgard, or...

He shook his head. He didn't believe in myths passed down through many generations by ancient beings.

There was no way the breaking of the pendant could connect to a terrible event. It was a myth and only a fool would believe it.

Yet here he was closing his eyes and concentrating with his magic trying to make a telepathic connection with the only being who knew of his existence.

'We had agreed not to communicate unless necessary, am I correct, boy?'

The voice of Odin that rang inside his head made Loki sighed in relief much to his chagrin. He didn't hate his adoptive father but he wasn't that much fond him either ever since the day he learned of his true heritage.

"That's true," he answered in a low voice trying not to wake up his sleeping companions. "I just want to check if something is wrong."

'Such a rare occurrence, your question is. Loki, God of Mischief, God of Lies, asking for the wellbeing of Asgard.'

"I could do much better without your sarcasm," he gritted his teeth. "I care for Asgard if you think that I don't. I care for my mother too. Why do you think I agreed to such a mission?"

'Then you do not have much valid reason why you want to communicate. Asgard is prospering after your 'burial'. Frigga, on the other hand, is still in grief but I assure you that she'll get by soon.'

Loki was silent for a moment. Achingly, his heart yearned for his adoptive mother's embrace more so than this mission. But something was nagging at the back of his mind that he couldn't scratch.

Odin was right. It was risky for him to use telepathy especially when Frigga was around. His adoptive mother could sense his magic even with a small amount such as telepathy. And Odin knew that which was the main reason why he couldn't use telepathy only when necessary.

As if reading his mind, Odin spoke again. 'Frigga caught a slight amount of your magic yesterday. It took a lot of my convincing to calm her down. What are you playing at, boy?'

"Some trouble with the guards in Xandar," he replied dismissively.

'Any news so far with him?'

"I learned from a source that he is collecting some kind of destructive weapon. To what is still unknown."

'Hm,' Odin was quiet for a while and for a moment Loki thought he cut off the connection. 'It's not enough information, boy. But you might be going to the right track.'

"Right," Loki answered, a little flattered at the small compliment. There was a pause when he remembered his true intentions of connecting with Odin. "...what of the mortal?"

'Ah. The true purpose of this communication and your mission.'

"How is she?" He repeated, gritting his teeth and losing his patience was never a rare occurrence when it comes to his adoptive father.

'...good.'

"As you've said earlier, I am the God of Lies. I know when one is lying, father. And you're never good at it. That's why you kept your distance from me since I was a boy so I can never see through all your lies about me. So, tell me what is going on in Midgard."

'And if I don't tell you the truth? Will you abandon your mission just to see how she's faring?'

"That's absurd. This is why I'm asking you and not Mother so that I will not risk my mission. Or should I do that?"

'Do as you please. Midgard is in chaos as of this moment. Thor is lending his help according to Heimdall. That's all you need to know.'

As if a door closing inside his head, his magic wore off. His fist clenched and unclenched. He hated his conversations with his father and he hated more so now.

But more importantly, there was chaos in Midgard and if Thor was lending his help then it must have been very dangerous.

His heart pounded in fear and anxiety with the thought of the mortal doing things that could get her killed. He silently praised her good heart despite everything that's been thrown at her but sometimes he wished that she could just turn a blind eye. Her stubbornness knows no bound.

'I... Should I go back?' He pondered furiously. But he knew he couldn't without risking his mission.

Before he could come up with a decision, Quill spoke up startling him.

"Oh, hey, you're awake."

Loki turned around to see Quill walking down the ladder of his ship and into the basement where the others were sleeping.

"Who's up there?" Loki asked trying to hide his frustration earlier with Odin and Clio.

Quill shrugged his shoulder and made a face. "The lady and the raccoon. We're almost to our destination, by the way."

Loki nodded and sighed. He unlocked his necklace from his neck and carefully laid it on his lap. With a flick of his fingers, the necklace vanished from thin air.

Quill, who was watching the scene, raised an eyebrow. "Why'd you break the pendant?"

"I didn't," Loki answered simply and leaned back down on his futon and closed his eyes. Hoping that would shut up.

"So, what's your story?" Quill asked instead which made Loki sigh in frustration.

He opened one eye to stare at Quill who was cleaning his weapons and was glancing at him expectantly for his story.

"There's no story to tell," Loki said and sat straight up to the futon. With a flick of his wrist, a knife emerged from his hand.

"Where are those coming from?" Asked Quill, bewildered.

When Loki remained silent, Quill pressed on. "Dude, seriously, what's your story? You seemed so tense whenever Thanos is mentioned a while ago."

Loki twirled his knife around his palm with a sigh. "He is someone I wanted to forget yet I couldn't."

"Why couldn't you?"

Loki glanced at him, examining his facial expression for a hint of sarcasm. "I thought you've heard about Thanos? Surely, you know what he's capable of."

"Yeah, heard a tale or two about him," answered Quill. "I haven't seen this one yet but I heard he's feared around the galaxy. The question is, why face him head-on if he's not trying to pursue you? I mean, if I were you, I'd be hiding to somewhere he wouldn't know."

Loki regarded him with a blank stare. The coldness in his eyes made Quill regret his probing. "Then you don't know him at all. He never forgets," he answered coldly then stood up.

Quill gulped expecting a sudden attack from the Jotun. But instead of doing what he thought, Loki walked past him and into the other side of the room where a target board was placed on the wall.

With a swift and accurate movement of his wrist, he flung his knife across and into the red dot of the target board.

Quill watched for a while as he flung three more knives and all of them reach the red dot.

"That's... that's nice," Quill said and then cleared his throat. "You got a nice aim."

"The only way to stop this nightmare is to stop Thanos," Loki confided. "He's a power-hungry, mad titan who will bend the universe to get what he wants. He's not too kind to those who failed him. Quick death will be a blessing if he is being merciful."

"How do you plan to stop him?" Quill asked.

Loki glanced at him sideways. "I need to know what he plans on doing with the orbs first," he answered before he flung another knife hitting the red dot again. "He made a deal with me once to get the tesseract in Midgard which is also a powerful weapon. If that isn't enough proof that he is collecting all-powerful weapon in the universe then I don't know what is."

Quill clamped his mouth shut as Loki continued to barrage the target board with knives whom he had no idea where it kept appearing. It looked like Loki was venting his frustration at the target board and if he doesn't stop any moment it could break.

Luckily, before Loki could throw another knife, the raccoon flung the door so loud that the other occupants who were sleeping bolted up startled.

"We're inbound, Princesses. Brace yourself."

~Sokovia~

She thought she saw white. It must've been her life flashing before her eyes as she fell down her untimely death. As soon as her back connected to the ground with loud thud, she thought she'd broken all the bones in her body.

She couldn't move. She felt her shoulder dislocated from its socket. But that wasn't the only case. She felt something sharp protruded in her inner thigh when she fell down. Yet no strangled cry nor whimper escaped her lips. Instead, she just let her tears flow freely down her cheeks without making any sound.

She felt so pathetic and messed up. Never had she felt this badly wounded even when she was a kid. Tony made sure of that or maybe she did before. Maybe she had scraped her knees when she was young. But since she was a Xhylorian, small scrapes were easily healed when she tried to sleep it off.

Her eyes fluttered shut. 'If I sleep it off then maybe the pain will subside…' she thought in a delirious state.

She wondered if there was a way to forget all about this. She wanted to go back to the times when everything was simple. Not like this.

A whirring sound made her open her eyes. The whirring sound appeared to be the earpiece, she realized.

"Sugarplum?" She heard Tony's voice over the earpiece. "Where are you?" his voice filled with panic. Maybe he heard her scream or Wanda's when she fell down. Either way, her father's voice was the only thing she needed to hear right now.

Slowly, she sat up carefully not to put too much pressure on her bad shoulder.

Her lips trembled at the sight of a broken glass probably from a car window embedded deep in her inner thigh.

She wanted to curse so badly at how pitiful she must have looked. A low sad chuckle escaped her lips.

When she heard another call from her father with his tone getting urgent by the minute, she pressed her earpiece and sighed.

"I'm here," she answered, clearing the lump in her throat.

"Where are you?" Tony asked and sighed in relief. "I heard Wanda scream your name. Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Just... just resting for a bit," she answered as she inspected the glass that broke her skin.

"Are you sure? I can come over to pick you up."

"No! I mean, I'm fine. You should focus on the mission... I'll be there in a minute..."

Silence was heard from the other side of the piece before she heard Tony cleared his throat. It must've been a hard decision for him to abandon his mission for her but she knew in the end, he'd choose her. He's selfish that way and she knew it.

"Okay, I'll see you later. In the meantime, if you can, we need you here at the church."

"Right. I'll be there."

She heaved a heavy sigh as she glanced above to where she fell making her eyes grew suddenly wide as chunks after chunks of the part of the bridge started to fall down on her. Survival instinct kicked in as she covered her head, her palm facing upward.

Her heart was beating so loud in her chest that she thought it would burst at any moment. The last thing she remembered was will the rocks kill her or her slowing healing rate would? She did not notice the searing hot sensation on her palm as she waited for her untimely death.

A few seconds later, she finally noticed her palm glowing white as a burst of energy was summoned to disintegrate the rock above.

'Pathetic.' She heard the voice chided from her head as she sighed in relief.

"T-Thank you," she muttered sincerely; eyes watering from the fear she had felt a while ago. Blasting off the rocks didn't cross her mind. She thought she didn't have enough strength and energy to do it.

'Hm, is that how you say 'thank you?' Well, in Xhyloria, my dear princess, we tend to look at the face of who we owe our thanks.'

"Idiot," she muttered again as she wiped her eyes; ignoring the fact it called her princess even though she told it off many times in the past. A smile slowly laced on her lips at the sarcasm. "How will I do that if you're inside my hea—" Her eyes grew wide when she finally looked up and noticed a white aura floating in front of her.

It was shaped like a human as its hand was extended above to blast the remaining rock that was falling at them. Brittles of small rocks cascaded down her head but were not enough to snap her out of her shock and fear at the sight before her.

'Don't tell me you suddenly lost your tongue?' the voice inside her head again spoke finally snapping her out as she swallowed the lump in her throat.

The white aura turned to her; no face was visible on its head yet it was shaped to be like a human.

"W-What," she muttered, her voice almost shaking from fear; the pain from her thigh and shoulder was momentarily forgotten. "...are you?"

'I'm offended that you didn't recognize me,' the voice chided inside her head. And to be honest, the white aura looked to be smirking at her.

A gasp left her lip when realization kicked in. "Y-You're the voice inside my head!" she yelled and then groaned when the pain from her thigh suddenly wanted attention.

'Glad you picked up so quickly than before,' it chided; sarcasm still laced in its voice as usual.

"B-But h-how?" she asked; confusion clouded her head.

The aura was silent for a moment but then floated over to her and seemingly crouched down at her eye level. "You tell me how," it asked instead; voice serious inside her head. "You finally kicked me out of your body."

"I-I don't know I c-can do that," she said; forlorn laced her tone which surprised her.

'Only a few Xhylorian can do that,' it said with tone full of meaning which she could not fathom.

"I-I don't… I'm not… following, anymore…"

'I know it's hard to take it all in. Especially, since most of your life you believed yourself to be a human.' it spoke again. It then heaved a heavy breath and released it. This was the first time they talked about her heritage and she didn't know whether it was that hard to talk about it or not. 'You are stronger than you give yourself credits for.'

"Why are you telling me this now? You used to want to take over my body," she accused.

'I did, for a while. But I have my suspicions about your heritage. And today, I finally confirmed my suspicions.;

"What? What suspicions?"

It raised its clawed hand on top of her head and patted it gently. 'It became my mission to protect you when I realized you are not just some Xhylorian.'

"W-What do you m-mean?" Confusion clouded her head at it statement. The sudden fondness of its touch on her head sent familiar longing in her chest.

It lowered itself to her eye level yet its blank face didn't bother her instead she suddenly felt something familiar stirring up in her chest as if she knew it.

'It means, princess, that you are more than just an Xhylorian. You are a royal. The true Queen of the fallen Xhyloria.'
